Padme looked up at Jack with a raised eyebrow. Here he was, going on about the Ball like a recorder that repeated something more then twice. Mack this, Mack that. I did this with Mack, blah, blah, blah. If Padme had wanted enlightenment on such a topic, she would have asked. Instead, Jack had to jump on it first thing in the morning, when Padme was feeling like she could give someone a bloody lip. "That's wonderful." Bitterness crept into her voice. "Ah, my little bitter angel is back, I see." Jack said, pestering her, pushing he to get angry. Padme stared at him blankly, letting the silence fold in. It worked; Jack stirred uncomfortably and moved his eyes about. The resemblance to a caged animal was evident. They were working at the library, thus whispering in small voices, but the way Jack spoke, even in a whisper, was so annoying she couldn't bear to listen. Not only did she have a head-ache, but she was in a... let's just call it a bad mood. She bent over her book, and moments later heard Jack stand, gather his things together, and leave. Instead of making this a happy celebration, Padme suddenly felt lonely. She felt like no one wanted her, a feeling she had gotten very much lately. She still hadn't told Jack about the many secrets still lurking in the Rendel's past, even as she continuously told herself it was time. Would it ever be? Padme, hardening herself against the petty feeling, looked away from everyone and continued her studies.
Great. She wanted some peace and quiet but no, people had to swarm the Student Lounge. After studying for hours, didn't Padme deserve a break? She leaned against the door frame, trying to determine whether she should go in or just turn around right now. The temptation of the corner in the back where five seats were open led her inside. It was a distance away from the reckless crowd toward the fire, and although the cold would interrupt her thoughts many a time, it was basically the only place one could sit at with peace. Padme opened a book that she had carried with her to pass the dreadfully slow time that was on her hands. She went through four pages of the book before tossing it in frustration at the cushion nearest to her. Stupid books! They had no meaning, nothing enjoyable in them except that boring nauseous way of making you feel tired. Padme glared at it, waiting for something to happen to sweep her off her feet and away from this dreadful place. Nothing. With a grumble, Padme switched her legs over the arm rest and leaned back on the couch, relaxing in an original fashion. Padme was about to close her eyes when she heard something moving close by. "That's mine," Padme said upon opening her eyes and sighting a girl looking at her book. "Could you give it back? I really don't want anyone sitting on it..." She wanted to add, especially someone like you, but she had no clue who the blasted girl was, so why waste breath?
((Kind of long. Don't worry about making yours just as long or longer. It's the quality that counts. And - give me enough so that I can make my post a nice length. Padme, as you noticed, will be rather rude throughout this whole post, which is mostly because she's a bratty Slytherin. So, it's nothing personal, just that Padme doesn't like other characters that aren't in Slytherin. ))
