Padme looked carefully at the piece of parchment in front of her. Could this be real? Padme hadn't thought it possible for her mother to get on any more nerves, but she had done it. "Oh, don't worry about little old me. I have to go to a party, so I can't write much. Oh yeah, how's school?" Something silly like that was in the letter. "Oh, I'll just drop a few lines, eh?" Padme muttered, her anger nearly boiling over. A garbage bin was nearby. Perhaps Padme could get some practice at her aim. With her arm outstretched, she made a throw at the garbage can from her seat, watching as it landed smack in the middle of the whole thing. Goal! Padme smirked and turned over in the chair, being careful as Sapph was still on her lap. Sapphire was Padme's old fat cat. A spoiled rotten cat, that's what. Padme pet the fluffy old fur ball with the smirk on her face still.
People went and came in the Student Lounge, but Padme remained in the same armchair during the whole time. She just didn't want to leave. There wasn't anything better to do. So why leave? Padme continued to pet Sapphire, her eyes distant. She might as well have looked lost or listless, because she caught quite a few glances as people went by. It was a cold day today. Padme had moved up to the front of the Lounge as a drift seemed to be coming from the back. No matter, as the school was going to the dumps anyway. It already was reeking with filth. Padme put a hand to her temple as her other one ran its way down Sapph's back. With a sudden drastic movement, Padme stood up abruptly from the armchair. Sapph fell down with a howl, but Padme didn't take any notice. Call it animal cruelty, if you want.
She was sitting back down five minutes later, the crumpled note in her clenched first. If only things could brighten up a little. But the words called to her, and she couldn't just ignore it. With a sigh, Padme crunched the note up into a small square and put it in her pants pocket. The back one. No one dared to reach back there and steal anything. Padme leaned back in the chair as Sapph jumped up in her lap with a annoyed meow. "Tell me about it." Padme muttered with a smile down at her cat. Sapph had been through almost everything with Padme, and she deserved to take a small rest sometime. It was a long haul with Padme, no doubt. Padme leaned back farther in the armchair as Sapph settled down comfortably in her lap, and just as she thought she wasn't going to be disturbed, she heard something behind her.

"Jami please?" Wendi begged outside of the Great Hall. She held her hands out in front of her face in a begging motions. Her face looked all sad and needing. However, Jamison knew Wendi was just fine. He knew her too well to see through her little disguise of emotions. "No." He said forcefully looking down on his tiny sister. Wendi pulled her arms from her side and crossed them in front of her chest looking slightly mad. "Why not?" She asked with a bit of force in her voice. Of course, Wendi wasn't really mad, but she was sure she could convince Jamison of this. She knew him all too well and he could never resist her sad face. "Because, walk into other peoples' common rooms." He said staring at her trying to put friendliness forth. She looked at him hard for a second and then eased up when she realized that it wasn't going to work this time. "Besides, you could never get in without the passwords and I think they would notice you there." He said still looking down on her. "Fine, fine. I just wanted to leave the Slytherins a little surprise." She said giggly at the thought of leaving a enchanted sock that would try to bite people. "You know it's wrong and it would never work." He said now smiling at her. "Your right, but I'm bored." She said tapping her foot on the ground. "Go find something to do then." He replied. Wendi shrugged. "Ok." She called running away from her brother laughing. She would never pull a prank on the Slytherins, but she just wanted to see what Jami would say to that.
Wendi skipped down the corridors leading to her dorm room. She was just so bored. Of course, her homework was all finished and she thought she knew the spells pretty well. Nothing was left to do in that area. She lightly nodded her head bringing her high pony tail forward. Sh laughed at her self still skipping all the way to her room. Wendi entered the Hufflepuff common room smiling. She loved seeing her dorm mates and she hoped they loved her just as much. However, the place seemed totally empty. It was an iry feeling actually. Absolutely no one was in the common room. Wendi looked around suspically and then shot off straight for her dorm room. She was glad to see most of her dorm mates were there. So, she just figured the other Hufflepuffs were in there rooms as well. She smiled cheerfully to her friends and plopped down on her bed. Wendi placed her hand in front of her face to shield her from the sun light the poured into her window. She laughed as something landed on her head. Wendi opened her eyes at the bright pink pygmy puff on her. She smiled moving her pet over. "Hey tootsie." She smiled as the pink creature gave a soft noise in response. "You're bored too, huh?" She whispered to her. "Well, you want to go out of the common room?" Wendi asked not really expecting too much of a response. Suddenly, Tootsie shot up and did a little back flip. Wendi laughed pinking her up. "Okay dokie." She smiled taking her pet out of the dorm.
"Come on Toots!" Wendi called as her pink pet followed her slowly. She smiled at her walking further towards the Student Lounge. There wasn't really any other place to go and it always seemed cozy in there. She loved the fire that was always lit and the warmth of the room. The windows always seemed to let it sunlight despite the weather. Wendi loved that she could see other people from different houses in one room doing what the normally do. It was just so interesting to her and Wendi adored meeting new people. Some people avoided those types of situations, but Wendi loved meeting anyone new. Wendi looked back at Tootise. However, the pink ball looked at her and then ran ahead of her. Wendi smiled at her pet. "Tootsie, come back!" She called as she pygmy puff headed into the Student Lounge. She went right for some cat sitting in a girl's lap. Wendi followed her pet walking at a fast pace. Tootsie sniffed around the cat and kept looking at it. "Oh, so sorry." She said at the girl. "That's just Tootsie being Tootsie." She said lifting her pet into her arms. Wendi looked at the girl sitting. She was in Wendi's year and her face looked very familiar as they had classes together. "Oh, I'm Wendi by the way. Wendi Parson." She added in a friendly tone.

Padme continued to pet Sapphire although she was getting really rather annoyed by the mildly loud snuffling noise that seemed to be getting closer. What could it be? A sniffling mudblood, perhaps? A pink ball of fluff was the problem, it turned out. Pygmy puffs. Padme hated them so bad. They were just like little balls that rolled around on the floor, and they were just too fluffy. Plus, did they even have a brain? Felines like cats had extraordinary minds, but did those little rolly-polly things even have thoughts? Padme glared at the thing, carefully keeping Sapphire down. The cat didn't seem to like the Pygmy Puff that much, and most of all, it was just another thing to chase and eat. Kind of like a bird, for that matter. Sapphire didn't like exercise, but when it came to hunting something, she was always up for it.
"Well, as lovely as 'Tootsie' is," Padme sneered, wondering why such an imbecile would name their little half-witted fluff ball Tootsie. Strange. The girl that had come around Padme's chair looked familiar in some manner. Padme knew already for a fact that she was extremely annoying - that wasn't hidden among her features. "Sapphire here won't hesitate to jump up and have a nice little snack. Next time, watch where your pet goes. It's called responsibility, I think." Padme said with a smirk as her fingers traveled gently around Sapphire's ears. Sapphire had large yellowish green eyes that were simply adorable to Padme. They illustrated strength and power, and that was why Padme had chosen her for a pet. With a serene look approaching Padme's face, she cast a glance at the pink thing once more. Why were they still here? "Well, as charmed as I am to learn your name, I'm not sure if I'm going to give you mine. It's not something everyone can hear, you know. Especially not someone who knows nothing of names." Padme snapped at the girl, clearly annoyed, and hoping she would get her hint to leave. Parson didn't sound extremely familiar, then again, Padme didn't care if it was a pureblood name or not. This girl certainly deserved no credit.

Wendi shrugged still smiling at the girl. She seemed annoyed by Wendi, but Wendi didn't really understand why. She was sure by now the girl was probably in Slytherin. She seemed that way just by the manner in which she addressed Wendi. However, that didn't bother her at all. Wendi lived a complicated life full of fears and drama. Nothing could put her down as Wendi felt she had been through too much for that. Of course, she wouldn't dare be mean to the girl, no, that wasn't Wendi. She hated making people feel inferior it just wasn't a nice way to meet them. Nope, Wendi decided to be herself right off the bat. People often though of her just as a cheerful annoying girl, but they didn't know the thoughts that went around in her head. Wendi often over analyzed things really. for everything said of heard, she always though of exactly what it meant even if it wasn't anything important at all. Wendi smiled placing her small hands on her hips and then reaching down to her little pet holding Tootsie tight in her arms. Wendi stroked her pink fur as Tootsie made a low sort of purring sound. Wendi smiled watching her pet sort of doze into a day dream.
"Well, Tootsie isn't exactly helpless." Wendi said calmly without one ounce of sarcasm in her tone. "I live in London and she gets out quite frequently. Muggles find her odd of course, but they think she is adorable. Sometimes she doesn't come back for days, so I think she could manage quite well with your cat." Wendi said eying her pet. "She is quite pretty by the way." She said staring into her beautiful eyes. Wendi shrugged as the girl refused to give her name. If she didn't want to then surely she didn't have to. Wendi just smiled looking at her. "Quite all right, but now I just have to call you no name and will even get on my nerves." She said knowing perfectly well that people thought of her as annoying. Wendi didn't really care though, people could never change her even if they paid her in gold. "Actually," Wendi announced comically. "Everyone can hear names unless they are deaf. Just so you are aware. And a name is a name. It doesn't define who a person is or how strong they are. It merely tells who their family is and sometimes where you can find them." She said her voice turning a little colder. Wendi could debate rather well, actually. At muggle school she had joined a club of it and had a marvelous time. "Like Parson just means I'm normal and English. That's all that should matter name wise." She continued eying the girl calmly. Beginning to get bored of the subject, Wendi decided to move on without consent of the other girl. "By the way, where did you get, Sapphire?" She said out of no where as many of her statements were. "Or can you not tell me that too." Wendi too a seat in a nearby chair hoping for a response.
