Alyson walked briskley down the empty hallway. It seemed everyone was either in the dorms, the common rooms, Or outside in the freezing wind. Alyson hated Winter. It was cold. Everyone had to wear bulky jackets. Plus it was the flu season. The only thing to look forward was Christamas. After that New year. Than spring. When everything was blooming and the snow melted. Alyson thought about this as she made her way to the student lounge.
Reaching her destnation at last she found an empty seat by the fire. All she wanted to do was read her new novel. Finding a comfortable position she removed the leather bound book out of her backpack.
Awhile into the book she heard a noise an looked up.

Dawn was excited and joyous for a once. It was winter time, Dawn's favorite season. She adored how snow seemed to find the perfect place when falling to the ground. It made everything look so, 'picturesque'. Falling with perfect precision and antiquity, the small flakes of frozen rain found their way to their own destination upon trees, buildings, and even on a certain person or two. Dawn was walking up from the dungeons dressed comfortably. It was bitter in the common room, so Dawn needed to find warmth somewhere else. Dressed in fluffy white slippers, comfortable jeans, a long sleeve dark blue shirt with thumb holes, and a warm cotton navy cloak with silver trim; Dawn smiled as she noticed the temperature change as she merged into the Main Hallway. Holding a mug of Hot Chocolate in her palm- she started up the stairs to the Student Lounge. It was never her ideal place to be, muggles, mudbloods, and half-breeds were allowed their as well but Dawn had to make sacrifices.
After a few minutes of wandering the halls, she made her way into the room. It was perfectly lit. Not to bright to keep someone awake, but warm enough that someone could casually read a book. Pushing the two way door open it made a hard sound as it hit the opposing wall. "Wretched door." Dawn commented as she walked through. Sipping her hot chocolate, Dawn noticed that the room wasn't filled at all. A young Ravenclaw sat lone engulfed in a book. Dawn not minding at all, walked over to a free couch, sat down, and took another sip of her Hot chocolate before she set it down on the table in front of her. Where Dawn sat, the fireplace was in the corner of her room; to her left. In front of her there were four windows looking out onto the night sky softly dancing with millions of snow flakes which fell at their own will. Feeling calm now, Dawn signed comfortably as she looked into the fire.

An older Slytherin girl entered. Alyson watched her take a seat then Alyson went back to reading. Unable to refind any intrest in the book she played it in her bookbag. She heaved a shallow sigh. She curled up in the chair. Her crystal blue eyes fixed on the flames in the fireplace. They danced their crazy dance. Moving in patterns yet to be discovered. Alyson watche until her eyes began to burn. She close them tight letting them cool.
Alyson looked around the room. Not many people were there. A few Gryffinors in the corner. Probabley mubloods. Alyson mummered to her self. The only person of intrest in the room was the Slytherin girl. Alyson did not know how to approch her. You don't go up to people and say Hi!!! Alyson thought to herself. Espically Slytherins. So Alyson sat tighter in the seat wonering what to do.

Dawn looked up from the burning flames, that only took her attention for a few moments nothing too exciting ever came from flames. Warmth, Yes, Destruction, Yes but at the moment nothing entertaining came from them. Leaning forward she picked up her mug again and finished the drink off. Setting it back on the table in front of her, she took out her wand and tapped it twice then it vanished. Dawn was a seventh year and adored how she could do spelled with out incantations. She actually learned it her fifth year and mastered it by the end of that year; but to Hogwarts demise she didn't actually use it in front of students untill her seventh year. She was more accelerated in spells than other students, and she hated her enemies to see what she could do. But then again, Who were her enemies? Gryffindor's wouldn't even give her a second glance in chance that they would get hexed. Hufflepuffs were too caught up in groups and gossip, real magic wasn't on their minds. Ravenclaws were too caught up in rules and how not to break them, never crossing the line they wouldn't dare to challenge a Queen, let alone a McGrogan. Then that must leave Slytherins. People from her own humble house. No one could be trusted, the only people in her own house she actually could trust with words as well as secrets were her blood, Aden, as well as her longest and dearest friends Cole Waters and Leland Astor. Everyone else even her Queens couldn't be trusted with things dealing outside of the castle walls. Grinning to herself, she remembered a few other 'tricks' she learned many years past that even Dumbledore would have no idea Dawn possessed the power.
Leaning back into the couch she pulled her legs up on to it so that she was reclined. Laying her neck back she rested it and her eyes on top of a quilted pillow. Inhaling through her nose, and exhaling through her mouth, she slowly opened her eyes. Everything was upside down, but she noticed a young girl looking at her from across the room. Closing her eyes, the sides of her lips curled as she laughed inside. "Yes? Do you wish to address me?" Dawn said, in her normal tone she addressed under privileged people with; still with her head back and eyes closed. Sitting up, she opened her eyes. Her back was toward the girl as she spoke, "You know it is rude to stare. Didn't your parents teach you any manors, little girl?" she inquired with a hiss of her words as she finished her statement. In her hands, she began to twiddle the button of her cloak between her fingers.
