Ashley flipped a page of her Ancient Runes book and continued to read from the spot she left off the other day. Her blue eyes felt dry and strained from too much studying. Preparing for OWLs was exhausting. Ashley remembered when Elina was in her fifth year and how she rarely saw her sister. But that was still happening this year now that her older sister was in her seventh year. Elina would be leaving Hogwarts this year and most likely move out of the house. This worried Ashley because she never really thought how Elina graduating would affect her. Ashley didn't even know what her sister wanted to do as a career. Pushing the thoughts of the future away, Ashley turned another page of the book and continued to read.
The Hufflepuff common room began to fill up more with more students as the weather was to cold to be outside. What was once a quiet place to study was now loud with commutation. Ashley was just about finished with her reading when something light smashed into her head lightly. Ashley rubbed her eyes at the sudden intrusion. Lifting her head up from the table, she raised and eyebrow while picking the paper plane off the stacks of books. Flicking her wrist Ashley watched as the plane flew over toward a group of younger students. Returning to the Ancient Runes book Ashley tried to concentrate but the noise was too overbearing. Sighing, Ashley stood from the chair and collected her things into a yellow shoulder bag. Maybe the student lounge wasn’t filled with so many students eager to get away from the cold.
Pushing open the oak doors to the Student Lounge Ashley stepped inside. The lounge wasn’t as packed as the common room, but there were still students in groups talking. A thought crossed Ashley’s mind as her blue eyes looked around the room eagerly, maybe Ryan was here. Her heart sunk a little as she didn’t see the fifth year Ravenclaw boy. Sighing Ashley took a seat on the ground by the fire. Her back was leaning up against the front of the couch, as the warmth of the fire welcomed her. Smiling Ashley opened pulled her knees up to her chest and opened up the shoulder bag. Taking out an Ancient Runes textbook again Ashley opened it up on her lap and picked off she we she left. While reading Ashley dug deep into her shoulder bag and took out some candy from Honeyduckes. Sucking lightly on a chocolate sugar quill, Ashley turned the page of her book feeling rather happy with herself.
