Fiona sat in the student lounge pouring over her Transfiguration book. She was doing her homework for class, though she really wished she didn't have to. It wasn't like she didn't like Transfiguration, she just didn't want to continue writing her essay. She wanted to be free of homework and class. She just wanted to go back to the way things were a year ago. She had been a third year she didn't have to worry about O.W.L's but now she was worried about them and it seemed like her professors were as well. They kept piling on the homework. She just wanted one free day, one free night and that's all. She looked around the empty lounge. Why was she the only one working on homework? She got up from her seat and walked to the window. She looked out at the beautiful evening light. She could see small figures of students walking across the grounds. They didn't have homework, they were lucky.
Fiona wanted more than anything to be out there. To be enjoying the last few days before winter, but she had two essays due tomorrow and she didn't want to do it at the very last minute. She frowned as she turned back to look at the table she was working at. She glanced at the parchment and immediately she took out her wand and pointed it at the sheet. She just wanted to blast the paper to smithereens, but she knew that she needed to turn it in. She sighed as she pocketed her wand and headed back to the table as she took one last longing glance back out the window. Sitting back down she pulled the book close to her and buried her nose in the pages. Transfiguring mice into cotton balls just wasn't that interesting today. She pushed the book aside and sat back in her chair. At this rate she would be finishing her essays 10 minutes before class started.
Fiona sighed again and looked at the door to the room. She wanted someone to walk in...anyone just as long as she wasn't by herself anymore. Maybe she would be able to justify her actions if something was going on around her. She paused and waited, but heard/saw nothing. She turned back to her work and grabbed her quill. Sticking it in the ink she began to write how to transfigure a mouse into a cotton ball onto her piece of parchment. All that could be heard was the scratching of a quill against parchment as Fiona wrote everything she could down on the piece of parchment.
It was about a half hour later when Fiona finally put down her quill and looked at the finished document. Her hand ached from the amount of writing she had down in so little time. Rereading her essay she smiled with delight. It was done and it was good. Professor McGonagall would love it. Setting it aside Fiona closed her Transfiguration book and stood up. She would stretch before she began her essay for Herbology. She looked back out the window and saw that the sky was darker than before. The sun was probably setting. Dinner would be soon, but Fiona didn't really feel like going down just yet. Sitting back down Fiona heard something behind and turned to see what it was.

“Aaaaahh!” Aubree wailed as she hit the stone wall. She hadn’t noticed it because she was too busy rushing though the halls. Aubree had just finished her daily classes and was incredibly tired. But, she knew she had work to do. Aubree had a few essays to write. On top of that, she hadn’t practiced her ballet in ages. She knew that if she ever wished to receive some sort of reward, then she would have to practice her heard out. Aubree hadn’t giving it much time since she had returned to Hogwarts. She was sure her parents would disapprove because they loved her dedication to the art. Aubree loved it too, but she was having a hard time giving it the effort it required. She was constantly practicing her spells because she wished to become a Death Eater like her father. Aubree also wanted to impress him. Her father had always seemed to favor Aubree’s sister, Darmelle, over Aubree. That disgusted her because she was older. Aubree was supposed to get all the glory. But as usual, Aubree was forgotten. All of that wasn’t even on her mind as she stormed the halls. Aubree had things to do and hardly any time to do them.
Aubree entered the room. It was empty except for one girl. Aubree smiled as she looked at Fiona. She was glad it was her and not some filthy Hufflepuff. Aubree had no time to scream at them and was quite bored with having to teach them a lesson. She wouldn’t have to if they weren’t such idiots. She quickly took a seat at a table near Fiona. “Hello, Fiona.” She greeted her dorm mate. “What brings you here?” She asked nicely. Aubree stared at the sky which was gradually getting darker. She loved nighttime. It hid so many things from the world and it made her curious about what happened outside the castle at nigh. Probably nothing, but she didn’t know for sure. Aubree waited for Fiona to answer.

Fiona turned just in time to see one of her dorm mates run face first into a wall. She laughed and smiled as she looked at the girl. She didn't make any move to see if she was all right, after all, Aubree seemed to be just fine, in a hurry, but just fine. Fiona smiled again as Aubree hurried into the lounge and sat down at an empty table near her. Aubree said hi and asked what Fiona was doing in the lounge. Fiona turned to look at her Transfiguration book. "Homework is what brings me here. I know it's early, but I hate leaving things til that last minute you know what I mean?" Fiona asked as she snapped her Herbology book closed. She wasn't in the mood to work on her next essay. Maybe she would wait until later that night to do that. Fiona looked up at Aubree to see what her reaction was.
"So what brings you here so early in the evening? Dinner is going to be ready soon and you're just now coming into the student lounge," Fiona said with curiosity. She was very curious it was in her nature. She was always wondering why people did the things they did. She didn't know it, but if she had been a muggle she would have made a wonderful psychologist. Fiona watched Aubree intently as she waited for her answer.

Aubree took her book out of her bag and placed it in front of her. "I have homework also. Yes, I know what you mean. I usually like to finish things early so I have time for stuff I enjoy. All the stupid homework always takes up my time." She told Fiona. "Stupid homework." She said again looking at it with disgust. Aubree wished homework wasn't required, but she wasn't about to just not do it. It's not that she hated breaking the rules or anything because she really had no problem with it. She was a true Slytherin good girl at heart, but sometimes she wished that would change. Aubree wished to just go beyond everything she was taught and do something dramatic. Nothing over the edge crazy, just something unique. She wanted to look back on her memory and say, Hey I did that because I wanted to. Aubree wished that one day she would say that confidently. But, that day was not the time.
Aubree listened to Fiona's question. "Homework brings me here also." She thought for a moment and then replied to the rest of Fiona's question. "Well, the common room is just so cold that I basically never do my homework in there. And most of the annoying first years are gone right before and during dinner." Aubree looked at Fiona for a second. She then thought of something and quickly provided an explanation. "The days I come down here at this time, I usually go to the kitchens later to eat properly." She provided. Aubree didn't want Fiona to think she did not eat or something like filthy muggle girls often did. She had read in Teen Witch Magazine that muggle girls often didn't eat so they could look pretty. Aubree couldn't imagine such a thing. She then looked back at Fiona. "The food is not as great later on in the night, but at least I finish my homework." Aubree decided to change the subject to avoid any oddness. "So, which subjects do you prefer besides potions which I am sure every Slytherin likes." She smiled at bit. Every Slytherin liked potions.

((Sorry it took so long to reply. I'm horrible *looks away in embarrassment before Fiona takes over and looks hatefully at me. Sorry))
Fiona raised an eyebrow at Aubree as she started to talk about homework and how dreadful it was. Fiona didn't mind it so much. She liked the knowledge. After all, 'Knowledge is Power' and she wanted power. She was determined to be the most powerful witch the world had ever seen and to do that meant studying. That's why she always carried a book around with her. She couldn't afford to be without one when she needed to know so much. She was determined to excel in everything. She piped in with her assessment of knowledge once Aubree stopped talking about homework. "I find homework an easy way to knowledge. I want knowledge, because with it comes power and that's the most important thing to have. Power over everything as well as power over yourself. Knowledge is what gives that to us and so I will continue to study unrelenting," Fiona said. She stopped as she realized that some things were never meant to be said out loud. On the other hand, most people knew that about her anyway. In fact, she had been the topic of conversation ever since people found out that her parents had died over the summer. They had been supporters of the Dark Lord and everyone knew it, or maybe they just expected it. After all, Fiona's mum's parents had been jailed in Azkaban for killing muggles and a few Aurors.
Fiona turned her attention back to Aubree as she began to talk about not eating dinner. Fiona listened as Aubree rattled on about muggle girls that didn't eat so they could be pretty. Fiona rolled her eyes. Muggles were such idiots and they all needed to be taken care of before they destroyed everything. Aubree seemed to be worried that Fiona would think she didn't eat. Fiona didn't think of such a thing, who would ever think of that other than an idiotic muggle. Fiona nodded her head when Aubree talked about the kitchen. "I don't go down into the kitchen. I have several house elves that fell into my hands after my parents died. Most still work at my castle, but one was brought on here at my uncle's request. I just call for him when I want something to eat," Fiona said in a somewhat arrogant way. Of course she didn't feel that way. It had come at her parents expense.
Aubree then asked her about her preferred subjects. Fiona shrugged as she looked down at the books on the table. Aubree was right about potions. Fiona excelled in there, but that was because of her mum, who had been an excellent alchemist. "I do great in Potions. I don't mind Transfiguration, Ancient Runes, and Charms. I don't really like, but I get good marks when it comes to Herbology and Defense Against The Dark Arts. I guess I have a natural all around talent, except in Astronomy, Muggle Studies for obvious reasons, History of Magic, and Care of Magical Creatures. As for as I'm concerned about them they could just get rid of them. I guess the same can go with Herbology and DADA. I don't like those classes, but have somehow managed to pull high marks in them. Whatever. What about you?" Fiona asked as she turned her attention back to Aubree.

Aubree looked at Fiona for a second. She completely understood what she meant about knowledge and power. She was right, if you wanted something you would have to work for it. If you wanted power which Aubree knew that's what many Slytherins, including herself, wanted. Muggle borns think that power just comes to you one day like a present or something. Aubree knew better. She knew that she had to work for what she wanted. Aubree had always done that. When she was younger, Aubree was determined to get on a horse and ride it without permission. She had never rode a horse at the time. She worked for months to even be able to get on horse. When she finally learned to ride, she knew the months of preparation were worth it. Even if she had several scars, bruises, and she was severely punished for learning without permission, Aubree knew it was worth it. That's how she had always been. Aubree had always been determined to get what she wanted and she usually did.
Aubree looked at the window as she saw the sun slowly go down. "I don't mind studying at all. As you said knowledge is power. I just don't like the homework. It takes up the time I could use towards studying my own productive way." Aubree had never grasped the concept of homework. She had always thought that studying filled what her learning and that homework was unnecessary. Aubree had her own methods of learning that helped her greatly. The homework took away from her own methods. If she didn't have homework to do, Aubree would probably make better marks her own way. She was funny like that. Aubree never liked to do things the way others did. She liked to be original and that usually helped her in the long run.
Aubree's head suddenly jerked when Fiona said something about her parents dying. She was not good with comforting or anything in that nature. Aubree had never really been comforted herself and usually when she tried to be nice to someone like that, they usually got upset. Aubree just decided to pretend like Fiona didn't say that hoping she would understand. She didn't want to upset her or anything so Aubree's way seemed best. She managed to give a little smile. "That sounds neat having your own house elves to control. I have one, Darmie, but my mother usually occupies her. I don't really mind house elves. They are filth, but at least they usually follow commands." She said. It was true, Aubree had never met a house elf that said no and she probably never would because they weren't that stupid.
She then listened to what Fiona had to say about classes. It seemed like a good list of classes she preferred. Aubree liked many classes. She liked most of them just the teachers weren't to her liking. Most of them were muggle lovers and not very bright to boot. Aubree still couldn't understand why they let that oaf, Hagrid, teach. She pushed that aside as she focused on Fiona's question. "Well, I receive good marks in potions of course and I like it too. I enjoy that it's challenging to get the exact ratio of ingredients in. It's not easy like Herebology which I don't like very much. I'm pretty good a DADA as weird as that may seem. I know it's a useless subjects, but it's required so. Um, I like Ancient Ruins the best probably and Charms. I like the various charms. Most of them are quiet good at moving people out of the way." She smirked a little at her last comment and then continued. "I hate Divination. It's so useless and transfiguration is okay." Sh said. Aubree breathed after she finished because that was quiet a few subjects to discuss and she was sure she missed a few. Aubree then turned towards Fiona waiting for a response.

((Sorry it took so long to reply. Been extremely busy))
Fiona followed Aubree's gaze out the window. She could see the sun setting in the West. Fiona sighed. As much beauty as it possessed she couldn't appreciate it. She didn't appreciate anything now that her parents were dead. Things just didn't seem the same and that was the truth. Nothing seemed to be good. The red and orange colors the clouds made as the sun disappeared would have brought joy to everyone else, but not Fiona. He hatred for such things was enough to destroy the pure beauty of it. She turned her attention back to Aubree as she began to speak. Aubree was talking about knowledge bringing power. However, Aubree didn't like homework. Fiona listened and she did understand. Some people learned differently than others. Fiona had a photographic memory. She could look at something for a few seconds and remember it later without any prompting. It was just how she was. So homework wasn't an issue for her. It was rather easy. Sitting down to write an essay would take most people a couple hours, but it took Fiona about half an hour to an hour and that was only if it was supposed to be really long.
Fiona resisted the urge to laugh when she saw Aubree flinched from Fiona's comment about her parents death. She seemed to be at a loss for words. Fiona didn't need any comforting. She never needed it. She was strong enough to know what to do and that was all she needed. She didn't need someone to say, "I'm sorry about your parents death" or "are you doing okay?" Fiona didn't need that what she needed was people to leave her alone about the subject. It seemed that people didn't know how to react to the fact that her parents had died and she had watched. No one understood her at this moment, no one.
Fiona listened to Aubree as she talked about house elves. The girl was definitely avoiding the subject of her parents. She seemed to think it was cool that Fiona had a house elf at her command. "It seems cool, but I would rather have my parents back, than to be excited for the house elf. The cost for it was too much. Don't worry about my parents. Too many people ask me about it and frankly I would prefer everyone leave me alone about it. So don't try to offer comforting words, because the only way you could help is if you have been through it yourself," Fiona said without any polite words. She didn't want Aubree to think she was weak about her parents death. It wasn't like that. If anything Fiona was 10 times stronger than she had been before they died, because now she didn't have them to rely on. She only had herself to rely on and that was enough to keep her going.
"The professors in most of the classes are hard to deal with. Most of them take one look at the Slytherins and decide that we're going to give them trouble. The truth is that they're in for more trouble from those stupid filthy mudbloods. After all, they are the ones that don't deserve to be taught and the Dark Lord will rid the school of them sooner or later," Fiona said. She had begun to babble over one of the topics she feels very strongly about. She want didn't want to deal with those professors. They would get their comeuppance before long, either by the Dark Lord or by herself. She was tired of them teaching the ones that didn't deserve it.
Fiona sighed as she looked back out the window. The sun had completely set and there was no color left in the sky save for black. She could see a few stars in the sky. She turned back to Aubree. "The sun finally set. I wondered how much longer we can sit here in quiet before it's stormed by filthy mudbloods trying to get their homework done at the last minute," Fiona said. As soon as they would show up, she would leave. There was no way she was going to sit in their listening to their talk about muggle nonsense. Fiona sighed again as she looked back down at her Herbology book. As much as she didn't want to write the essay she knew she should. She opened the book to work while she waited for Aubree to bring up a new subject.

Aubree continued to write down a few words as Fiona spoke. She was talking about her parents. Aubree didn't know how to respond. She hated talking about death, but not because she feared it. Aubree had never been one to comfort as she had never had a family member to die herself. There was no need to comfort her and if there was, not one ever did. Fiona's words seemed harsh and she defiantly wanted Aubree to understand. She looked at her for a second and the responded. "True." She paused. "I wouldn't try and comfort you because, your right I haven't been through it. Only one person in my life has died and that was a long time ago." She sighed remembering Nancy. Aubree then looked back at Fiona. Fiona didn't seem upset about it. So, Aubree wasn't going to be either. There was nothing she could do to help Fiona so Aubree just let that conversation go. Fiona said something about filthy mudbloods coming in and destroying their peace. "If they do, I can take care of them." Aubree had an evil smile as she sat her wand beside her. She wouldn't hurt anyone too badly. She would just scare them. Aubree was often feared by people. No one would think a pretty blond would be that harmful, but of course they were wrong. Aubree was her own person. She was unique and bossy, but mainly was just Aubree. She would probably never fit her parents' standards, but she didn't care. Aubree didn't have to be what they were, she just had to be better than them. She had to beat them and become a great Death Eater. Aubree knew she would do just that. Aubree looked at the pitch black sky. She loved darkness. It wasn't boring or anything. It also disguised the worst of actions. Aubree knew most Death Eaters attacked at night. She couldn't help but wonder if there would be an attack that evening. She however would never know. Aubree quickly wrote different things on her parchment and then decided to start new conversation with Fiona. "So, who do you think is the most annoying person in the school?" She asked with a grin on her face. Aubree could think of many but could name few. She looked at Fiona waiting for an answer. (no problem

Fiona shook her head to herself. She didn't know why she had continued on about her parents. She didn't want to think about it and yet she was the one who had said something about it in the first place. Why did she always have to do that? It was like a subconscious need to get it out in the open. Almost all of her discussions ended up with that topic of conversation at some point in time. She just didn't know why she did that. She didn't want to and she definitely didn't want others to pity her about it. She hated pity and to pity her for something that was her fault...that was even worse. Fiona wanted to apologize, but she would never do that. She never apologized to anyone, even it was her fault. It was just who she was. Fiona shrugged as she dropped the subject. Aubree seemed to be at a lose for words. She agreed with Fiona though and that was enough for Fiona to drop everything that had to do with her parents.
Fiona smiled at Aubree's response about the filthy mudbloods. She watched as Aubree pulled out her wand and put it beside her on the table. Fiona followed suit. She didn't want to deal with any mudblood's either and she would not let Aubree have the only fun. Fiona didn't know if Aubree would actually hurt a student, but Fiona could. Fiona wasn't scared of anything or anyone. She wasn't merciful either. If you got in her way you would pay for it sooner or later, normally sooner as apposed to later. Fiona was used to harming things. After all, she had been doing it ever since she was a kid. The house elves were her first target, now it had moved to mudbloods and half-breeds. She would teach them all. She would follow after her father, one of the greatest Death Eaters. She would be the one killing Aurors and their families making sure they could never harm the Dark Lord or destroy his plans. A familiar smile stretched across her face. The prospect of such evil was enticing. She rather liked the feeling.
Fiona turned her gaze from Aubree and rested on the darkness outside the window. She loved the night. There were always so many unexpected things that came out of the night. She hoped that one day she would be one of those unexpected things. She could see herself emerging from the woods dressed in black as a Death Eater. Her wand held high and the killing curse on her lips. Right after she would cast the Dark Mark. It was a dream that she wanted to fulfill. She knew the time was coming. It wouldn't be long before the Dark Lord came for her. She would pledge her life and soul to him. She would give up everything just to be sure that he was safe.
Fiona's attention was drawn away from the window and her dreams as Aubree asked her a question. "The most annoying person in the school?" Fiona asked with a grin. That was definitely a hard question. "Difficult. There are many annoying people, for instance all of the Gryffindors', Hufflepuffs', and Ravenclaws'. However, I think the person I'm going to have to say is Cassandra Blackfire. Now that she found out that she's a pureblood she thinks she better. She's not. Just because she is a pureblood doesn't mean her blood is pure, per say," Fiona said as she talked about one of her loathed enemies. The girl would get her comeuppance.

Aubree couldn't help but smile to herself when nothing else was said of Fiona's parents. Aubree hated discussing things of that sort. She never knew what to say in those situations. She was not a miracle worker and couldn't bring Fiona's parents back. So, Aubree could not help the girl in any way. Some people tried to get Aubree to help in different situations. They thought of her as that adorable five year old who was nice to everyone because she didn't know better. Those days were long gone. Aubree had been foolish and naive then. She didn't know not to talk to mudbloods. She was a normal little girl. Aubree would look back on those days and frown. She had been very stupid and was glad that was all in the past. She now knew that mudbloods were not friends. They shouldn't even be alive.
Aubree was nothing like that silly little girl anymore. She was a worthy Slytherin girl now. She did as she was supposed to. Aubree had proper friends and a proper life. She couldn't believe that she ever acted that way. She remembered those days clearly. Her parents were never around so Aubree grew up with the maids. One of them introduced Aubree to her muggle daughter, Nancy. Nancy was Aubree's best friend for a while. Then one day, Aubree went over to her house. She saw a strange mark over it. She headed inside to find Nancy and her parents dead on the floor. Aubree later found out that the Dark Mark was over the house. That was the day she changed forever. Aubree earned what was right and she was glad that day happened. because she now knew how life was supposed to be.
Suddenly, Aubree snapped out of her gaze as Fiona started to answer her question. She said something like difficult and it was true. There were so many annoying students at Hogwarts. Most of the Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors, but some mudblood Ravenclaws and others were just as bad. "That girl is worthless." Aubree sighed remembering that day in the hall. "She had the nerve to say all the mudbloods in the world are better than me. Stupid girl." Aubree cursed her. That girl was so annoying. Fiona was right just because she was pure, that didn't mean a thing. She was still annoying and undeserving. "I think I would have to say a second year Ravenclaw named Cougar, I think." Aubree paused remembering when she told him off that day. "Yep, but he was fine to scare off." She gave an evil laugh. She paused for a moment trying to find something to say. "So, what do you think about all the attacks? I mean yes, they are helpful, but they are hurting Slytherins. I suppose it is necessary though." She paused looking at Fiona.

((Sorry it took so long to reply. Been really busy.))
Fiona listened to Aubree talk about a kid name Cougar. She had never met him and it sounded like she was really blessed to not have met him. Fiona smiled when Aubree laughed about how she scared him the other day. Fiona didn't really care, but at the same time it was quite entertaining to listen to Slytherins talk about how they told off some other student. It entertained her quite well. Maybe she was just like that though. Easily entertain. Or maybe there was something funny about seeing those stupid little students get scared. She had done it more than once, but then there were those older students she had told off many times. She didn't know if they were scared of her, but she was pretty sure they would never mess with her again. A genuine smile came to her face and she held back the memory of dueling with unsuspecting students. Dominic promised to teach her a spell that tied someones shoe laces together. She would definitely be using that on first years.
Fiona shook her head of the thoughts as Aubree asked her a question about the attacks. Fiona's heart sank. She wanted to be a part of those attacks so much, but at the same time she had been hurt in Diagon Alley over the summer break. Of course, someone had saved her, she just didn't get to see who it was. "I don't know what to think about the attacks. I know Slytherins are getting hurt, I mean I got hurt by the attacks in Diagon Alley. The thing is that I know someone tried to save me that day. I didn't get to see their face though. It was one of the Death Eaters. They pushed me out of the way so that I didn't get hurt by a giant. I still got injured, but not to the degree that I would have been if they hadn't pushed me out of the way. I think these attacks are necessary and I think that with Slytherins and those loyal to the Dark Lord getting hurt they are just showing how determined they are. I think it gives them more reality and more fear," Fiona said. She wasn't sure if Aubree would understand what she was talking about or where she was coming from, but that didn't bug her at the moment.
