Sadie sat in the Lounge quietly looking out of the window. She was in a sadden mood, for she wasn't sure what she would do over the Holiday. She had decided to stay at the school, but she didn't know if any of her friends were staying with her. She sighed deeply as she continued to wander what her friends were doing for the holidays. She hadn't even had the chance to buy presents for her friends since she wasn't allowed in Hogsmeade during school terms, unless accompanied by a parent while they were on a break.
Sadie sat there while everyone around her seemed to be in a bustle trying to get ready to leave for the holiday. This, mixed with the thought of this being her first holiday without her parents, brought tears to Sadie's eyes. She hoped no one would notice her crying. But she knew that was very unlikely.

It was almost time to head home for the Holidays and with the rush of the past few months she could hardly think straight. Everything just seemed to have fallen into place, and it somehow made her mind foggy. Classes were going amazingly well considering the marks she had gotten the year before, quidditch was going well too, and the team had finally been settled into a routine again and were getting better all the time. She even had a few promising reserve players and that always put her mind a bit more at ease. Then there was Gary. They were of course just friends, but they had gone to the Halloween Ball together, and they had so much fun. Just thinking about him made her smile. He was perfect.
Currently though, classes were over, and she had already packed most of her things for her trip home. As a break from packing, she decided to head down to the Student Lounge to see if she could find anyone to spend the afternoon with. After she came inside and glanced around she saw Sadie, who she hadn't been able to talk much with over the past few months. Not since she helped the younger Hufflepuff get a broom. She immediately headed over and sat down in a near by chair, not noticing Sadie's expression until she was already sitting down. "Hi Sadie....is everything okay?"

Sadie heard the wonderful sound of a friendly voice. She looked around to see Nokomis, one of her closest friends. Sadie quickly wiped the tears from her eyes, and tried to break a smile, but with no luck. Nokomis had sat down a chair close to Sadie before Sadie had noticed her.
Is everything alright? Nokomis had asked. That was a question Sadie wasn't sure if she could answer without crying again. "I'm not sure." Sadie said still slightly sobbing. "It's just that this is the first holiday without Mum and Dad and I have no one to spend it with. I still haven't had any luck finding any of my family that my father's letter told me about. I don't want to give up trying to find them, but what if they turn out to be horrible people that were all in Slytherin or something. I mean they could be supporters of You-know-who, and I don't think I could handle that." Sadie realized that she was babbling, something she only did when she got very upset.
Sadie quickly tried to quieten her babbling, and hoped that she wouldn't start it again. "I'm sorry for babbling like that. I tend to do that when I get upset." She said to Nokomis, as Sadie wiped another tear from her cheek.
