It's funny. It's funny how one moment someone can be so happy, so upbeat, and then the next she's falling. Falling hard, into a pit of despair and darkness. It was something that someone might not see, or expect, of someone like Ingrid. Someone so lively, so carefree, so happy and so healthy. Ingrid was always happy, she never let the darkness of worry overcome her and eat her alive. She always fought off those dreads, the sadness, like a knight in shining armor. A modern day Joan of Arc, she was. She brought happiness and smiles, laughter and glitter into the worlds of those who would otherwise be...depressed. Ingrid was just, there. Happy, living, thriving, being an eleven year old. And then she fell. She missed a step, skipped a beat, tripped on a shoelace that wasn't tied. Ingrid fell, and she hit hard.
Not literally.
It was a rather usual day. Ingrid woke up, got dressed, went to breakfast, went to class, and then it happened. She was leaving Charms, walking toward lunch and looking forward to the meal that would settle her rumbling stomach. When it hit her. The wave of dizziness swept over her and went through her, then around her. Ingrid dropped her books and put her hand to her head, pressing her palm against her forehead rather forcefully. Her other arm reached out, her hand grasping for a wall to hold onto. Finally, she felt the stone and braced herself against it, but nothing happened. It didn't help. The dizziness continued to swirl around her, make her dizzy along with it. And she lost her footing, and she fell. People stopped in the halls, but most continued on. They probably figured she would get up and start walking again, after all it was Ingrid. But she stayed down there, and slowly slipped into unconsciousness.
She wasn't sure how she appeard in the Hospital Wing, but she had. Ingrid didn't remember much, but when she went to get out of the bed and walk back to the dorms her feet collapsed beneath her and she fell against the table beside the bed. Her hand jetted out and swiped off the pitcher and glass of water that had been set out. Ingrid groaned and tried to stand again, but it was useless. Madame Pomfrey rushed in and picked up the girl as if she were a feather, setting her back down on the bed. Ingrid looked at her with tears in her eyes. Tears of frustration. She crossed her arms and turned on her side. She didn't know how long she had been staring at the wall with angry and frustrated tears in her eyes, but when she turned around it was to see who had spoken to her.
Not literally.
