Hufflepuff Wing (( Injured Huffles and visitors))

[Sadie Rivers H6]

Sadie sat and watched as the other Hufflepuffs got rolled down to the same end of the Hospital Wing that she was on. She sat there and counted them as they came by her. 1,2,3,4,5,....9. Wow, I didn't know that there were so many Huffles in Diagon Alley today Sadie thought. She didn't remember running into all of them anytime.

Sadie had overheard Madame Pomfrey say that she was suffering from shock. She didn't understand what that meant exactly, but she didn't care. She didn't mind laying in the bed right now, she was so sore, and wasn't exactly sure what all had happened to her.

She continued to sit up and watch the others come in. She noticed them all, although she didn't know them personally. Then she suddenly remembered that she had been shopping for candy for Nokomis. She had been with someone else, although she couldn't remember the girl's name. Sadie hoped the girl wasn't hurt, but then suddenly Sadie saw the girl being rolled down to the end with the Hufflepuffs. Then, Sadie thought of something. She shot up in her bed, Nokomis had been coming to Diagon Alley. Oh No!! Sadie thought,I hope she wasn't there yet, and that she didn't get hurt.Sadie thought now worried about her friend.

Suddenly, Sadie passed out. When she woke up, she heard someone saying her name. She raised up to see who it was.

Hayden clutched her torso, as her mother carried her into a hospital type place. Her mother had first brought her to St. Mungo's, but it was too crowded, and they told some people to come to Hogwarts. She would normlly be extremely excited to be visiting Hogwarts, but right now, she was in a lot of pain for a person her size, and she just wanted to be healed.

She didn't exactly remembered what happened much, other than she was in a candy shop with her new friend Sadie, and then these people came out and starting hurting everybody! 'Sadie!' she thought, eyes widening, and fearing the worst for her friend. She arrived at a bed, and her mother gentely put her down, on the bed. Still clutching herself, she looked around at the many other ingured children in the hospital. Her eyes soon fell upon a familier face. Even though Hayden was in pain, her face lit up slightly, when she noticed sadie, laying in the bed, next to hers. "Sadie." she said, a bit urgently. "Sadie. Oh, I'm so glad that your alright. What happened to you?" she asked, not in her hyper tone that she usually had, but in a calm, frightened, and pained voice.

" Umm.... I'm not badly injured according to Madame Pomfrey." Sadie said as she looked at the girl a bit puzzled. She knew the girl's face but couldn't remember the girl's name.

" I don't mean to alarm you, but what's your name?" Sadie asked the girl. " I mean I recognize your face and I rememeber us meeting somewhere in Diagon Alley, I think there was candy around us, but I don't remember anything else." Sadie explained to the girl. She hoped that she hadn't hurt the girl's feelings. She didn't mean too.

" Anyway, I only have this bruised shoulder, and I'm suffering from shock. At least I think that's what they said." She told the girl beside her. " What about you?"

The Diagon Alley had been attacked! Laura was still in shock. How could something like this happen? Diagon Alley was always filled with witches and wizards. Even the employees of the Ministry of Magic were there. It was supposed to be one of the safest places in the wizarding world. How could it have been under attack?
A mediwizard had assessed Laura’s injuries and then sent her off to the Hospital Wing at Hogwarts. Laura only had minor burns on her arm, but it hurt none the less. She had only been shopping for school supplies when the attack had taken place. Why had the attack taken place?

Some witch looked over Laura’s arm and told her someone would be over to take care of the burns soon before taking Laura to an empty bed near two girls. Still a bit dazed of the attack Laura took a seat on one of the beds holding her burned arm protectively.
Pushing her sneakers off Laura pulled her legs up onto the bed and curled up comfortably. Finally she looked at the two girls who were in the beds near her. She most certainly didn’t know the younger girl. As for the older girl. Laura looked at her with hesitation. She was rather sure that she went to Hufflepuff too, but Laura had never talked to her. So she didn’t know her name.
“Hey, are you two more or less alright?” Laura asked the girls quietly. Perhaps she would feel better if she could talk to someone.

Hayden was glad when Sadie said that she wasn't badly injured. However, she was very disappointed when Sadie said that she didn't remember her name. Hayden gave Sadie a faint smile, and replied, "Umm... I'm Hayden Hinson." Sadie then asked her what injuries she had, and Hayden shrugged slightly. Just then, Madam Pomfrey came over, to examine the small girl. After a couple minutes of searching for injuries, Madam Pomfrey told her mother that Hayden had about four cracked ribs. Her mother looked very worried, but it wouldn't take very long, or much effort to heal Hayden.

Madam Pomfrey then gave her a very nasty tasty potion, that Hayden made several faces as she downed it. However, not complaining, just wanting to get feeling better. After Madam Pomfrey had left to go help someone else, Hayden turned back to Sadie and said, "Well, I guess that kind of explains what's wrong with me. By the way, do you remember anything?" she asked curiously, but also with a bit of concern in her voice as well. Sadie had said that she had a bruised shoulder, and was suffering from shock. Hayden had no idea what 'shock' was, but it was probably pretty bad, considering that Sadie had lost a bit of her memory. But then again, maybe it was just because she got so scared, that she passed out, and then a dragon came down, and knocked her memory out of her! OK, well now, Hayden's imagination was going out too far. Hayden was already beginning to feel a bit better, but didn't dare try to move around and squirm too much, for fear that the pain would come back. So, she continued to lay on her back, looking up at the ceiling, and waiting patiently for Sadie's answer.

Another girl soon came in, and asked if Sadie and Hayden were alright. Hayden nodded slightly, not wanting to move around her body too much. "Yeah, I guess so..." replied Hayden. She gave the girl a faint smile, and said, "Umm... hi. I'm Hayden Hinson. I'm going to be a first year this term at Hogwarts, so this is my first time here. Are you a student here?" she asked, in the same calm voice that she had been talking in since she arrived at the Hospital Wing.

((Hope I'm allowed to be a visitor without being invited... but I can't leave Huffles unattended!))

Ivy stepped into the Hogwarts Hospital Wing, a frown creasing her forehead. She hadn't expected to be coming back here so soon, but then she hadn't expected Diagon Alley to be attacked. Maybe she should have been expecting it after they'd managed to get into Hogwarts but... somehow she could never be quite prepared for it. She hadn't been expecting this though. So many people had been hurt! Ivy didn't know whether any of her friends had been hurt but she'd come here straight away to see if any of them had and to hopefully help them feel a bit better. She would just have to try not to get in the way. She didn't want to be an encumbrance to the people working to try to help the injured heal.

It was worse than she'd feared. You could hardly move in here for the number of people they'd had to fit in. There were quite a few Healers in here, mediwizards, Madam Pomfrey, and some Professors who presumably had passed their First Aid course. Ivy couldn't see anyone she knew, but then again it was very chaotic. They were trying to keep the noise down but with so many people in here, they were close to fighting a losing battle on that front. Ivy bit her lip as she made her way slowly through, looking out for anyone she knew. There were lots of people here. Students. St. Mungo's must be very full as well. For the umpteenth time since she had heard the news that Diagon Alley, of all places, had been attacked by Death Eaters, she tried to apply some logic to it. But it didn't have any logic, did it? They just... did it. Why? Ivy didn't know why there were evil people who did this sort of thing. She couldn't work it out. So she might as well put the worry to the back of her mind as best she could and find somebody she knew.

Ah! There. There were three people in beds who looked to be awake, and one of those was definitely Laura. She hoped she wasn't very hurt! Ivy started to hurry over, before realising that hurrying was not something that was a good idea to do in this Hospital Wing. There simply wasn't room to. So instead she smiled and waved in case any of them noticed her coming over and arrived there eventually. "Laura, are you okay?" she asked anxiously. "Well, silly question really, you wouldn't be in here if you were totally okay, but I mean you're not too badly hurt?" Ivy looked at Laura's companions. One of them she recognised immediately and gave a big smile, the other she didn't know at all. She looked quite little though. Maybe she was a new first year. It would be terrible to be attacked before you'd even started attending Hogwarts, especially if you didn't know anything about the Wizarding World. Some of the new first years might not even have been aware that there was a threat from You Know Who. Ivy gave her a small smile too before turning her attention to Sadie.
"Sadie, are you not too bad?" she asked worriedly. Ivy produced the box of chocolate covered raisins she'd brought with her from Catalina's Cubby and placed it on Sadie's bedside table. "I'm afraid you three will have to share because I've only the one box," she said, "but they do taste very nice." Ivy smiled as brightly as she could, having been about to add that she couldn't really afford much more, since her only income was from the Cubby at the moment and that was supposed to keep her going for school supplies. She wasn't sure where she was going to be able to buy those now though. Ivy looked round the three, looking behind her and drawing up a chair someone else had just left as they left the Hospital Wing to sit on. "I'm afraid these aren't the best circumstances to meet," Ivy said to the youngest girl she didn't know, "but I'm Ivy Tunstall. I'm a Hufflepuff in the same year as Laura." Ivy gave the girl a friendly smile before looking back at Laura and Sadie anxiously, hoping they weren't hurt too much.

Sadie raised up a little more as Ivy shouted her name. She was actually able to remember Ivy. " Yeah, I'm not too bad injured, Ivy. I've got a bruised shoulder, and can't remember everything. Madame Pomfrey said something about me suffering from Shock. I think that's the reason for the blank memories." She answered hearing the worried tone in Ivy's voice. Then she suddenly thought about Nokomis again. " Ivy, Do you know if Nokomis had made it to Diagon Alley, yet? She was coming to meet me to go broom shopping, and we were supposed to meet at the Leaky Cauldron, but I took a little time to get her these." Sadie said as she pulled the chocolate frogs out of her pocket.

Sadie heard another girl asking if she was okay. She looked around Ivy to see Flo. " I'm not too bad, are you alright?" She asked. And then she recognized the girl that Ivy was standing next too, as another Hufflepuff. " Hi, I'm Sadie. I'm okay, well, at least not too bad injured, what about you?"

Flo was glad that Sadie was OK, but Hayden hadn't said anything. Maybe she's too shocked too speak, Flo thought. Poor girl! "I'm OK, but my mum's making a big fuss- oh, here she comes." Flo's mother was busily rushing up to Flo with her brother in tow. "You see Tim!, if you hadn't of pushed your sister, than she wouldn't of gotten mad, and I wouldn't of told her to go to Diagon Ally to get it of her mind, and she wouldn't be here! And Flo, you were told to stay put! what are your doing over here?" Flo's mother was wagging a finger at Flo's brother, and pulling Flo's sleeve at the same time. "Mum I'm fine. go and... do something!" Her mother looked at her for at second, trying to figure out what to say, then left.

Flo rolled her eyes and sighed. "Sorry about that, wish she would realize I'm not a baby." Flo shook her head and looked down, the dry blood still on her knee. Hmm, have to clean that up, Flo thought.

OOC: Hrm, I hope you guys don't mind me visiting, seeing that this thread has the most people.

IC: Elle walked into the Hospital Wing of Hogwarts. After hearing about the terrible incident in Diagon Alley, she had rushed over to St. Mungo's on her broom, where she found quite a few of her friends, but some, whom she knew were there during the attack, weren't at St. Mungo's. She was then told to go to the Hogwarts hospital wing, which she then flew to.

And, well, Elle thought, here I am. Gosh I wish I could apparate, then I would've gotten here sooner.

Elle had taken care on the way back to Hogwarts to stop by her house and bake, what seemed like a million batches of cookies for the injured Hogwarts students. She wished she could've done the same for all of the people at St. Mungo's, but she had run out of ingredients, and Hogwarts was her top priority. Her parents had noted her frazzled look, and asked why she wasn't staying in Hogsmeade like she was supposed to.

Elle barely had time to answer, "Diagon Alley attack," and hug her family, before leaving again.

Looking around the hospital wing, Elle frowned. She had no idea there were this many people at Diagon Alley yesterday. She frowned again, seeing how crowded it was, and started at Sadie's bed.

"Hi, I'm a 3rd Year Ravenclaw. Name's Elle," she said, "and I'm kinda in a hurry, but I baked cookies for everyone, so here you go. Get well."

Handing Sadie a dozen chocolate chip cookies, she moved on to Hayden's bed.

"I'm Elle, 3rd year Ravenclaw, and I hope you like triple chocolate cookies," she said, handing Hayden a batch of them and moving to Lauren's bedside, "Get well soon!"

"Gosh I wish we wouldn't be meeting through a circumstance like, this," Elle said to the girl, "but anyway, I'm Elle, Ravenclaw 3rd year, and I baked everyone cookies. How about peanut butter? Get well!"

After handing Lauren a batch of her peanut butter cookies, she moved to Flo's bed.

"I'm Elle, 3rd year Ravenclaw," Elle said, handing her yet another dozen of cookies, "Get well soon. Meanwhile, enjoy some white chocolate macadamian nut, hope you like them."

" It's okay. Mom's can be like that." Sadie said thinking that she was relieved that her mom wasn't alive to see her like this. " Why don't you see if one of the mediwizards could move your bed down here beside mine?" Sadie asked Flo as she pointed to the empty spot beside her. " That way she won't be so irritated at you for not being in bed."

Sadie thought that would be a good way to get Flo's mom off her back about not being in her bed. Sadie knew that everyone was in an uproar but acting so panicked wasn't going to help anyone. Nor, would it help get Diagon Alley cleaned up. Sadie still thought about her broom, and whether or not Nokomis was okay. Where am I going to get a broom now, I'll never learn quidditch this way. Sadie said. She realized that she was being selffish, but no one knew how much she was looking forward to being with her friends and learning how to play quidditch.

[Flo Murvac H4]

A girl about Flo's age, was handing out cookies. "Hi, thanks for giving everyone a cookie." Flo said, taking one. Sadie had suggested to take the bed next to her, so Flo mother wouldn't make a fuss about it. "Oh what a good idea! That'll get her of my back. Hang on, I'll go ask." Flo walked over to one of the mediwizards that was doing a patrol of the wing. "excuse me? Umm I've been put in that bed over there, but i was wandering if i could transfer to that one over there, with my friends, you know, to comfort them from the shock of every thing." As she spoke, Flo pointed to the empty bed, where Sadie and Hayden, and most of the other Hufflepuffs were. The mediwizard nodded, and Flo returned to the others.

"So does any one know who did it? All i saw was a big light, and then i got carried away by someone." Flo wanted more information. No one had told her anything, even if she persisted.

((Well, Hayden hasn't talked in a while, so I figured it was about time to reply!))

Two more girl soon joined their small group, which was now growing quite large. Hayden didn't know the other one, but she did reconzie one girl as Flo, a girl she had met in Diagon Alley. She smiled at the two older girls, as another girl went around, introducing herself as Elle, a third year Ravenclaw, and giving everybody cookies! "Thanks!" replied Hayden, with the biggest smile she could muster at the moment. "I'm Hayden Hinson, and I'm going to be a first year this term. Hopeful Hufflepuff, I am, but the term doesn't sound too promising after this." Hayden finished with a sad frown.

Elle smiled at Flo, "It's not a problem. Really, take more. I baked them for all you Hogwart students who were injured. There's nothing like a homeade cookie when you're hurt or sick or just plain old depressed in my opinion. When I was little my mom used to bake them all the time. I figured that this was a time when people needed some homeade comfort, so I went home, made these, and came over here."

Then to Hayden, "No problem at all. I hope it makes you feel a tad better. I know you're probably skeptical about going and stuff after all this, but Hogwarts is good fun. You won't be disappointed."

" Thanks for the cookies. Name's Sadie. It's a shame that most of the students at Hogwarts who have never met before, are having to meet this way." She replied to Elle.

Sadie really did feel bad, but she didn't remember much of what happened. " What actually happened? And I have no idea if they know who caused it yet." She asked and replied to Flo at the same time. She was still a little confused

" Hayden, Don't get discouraged, Hogwart's will more than likely be the safest place for the students. That is as long as Dumbledore is around." She said thoughtfully. She didn't want her new friend to miss the chance to learn magic.

Laura looked up as Ivy entered the room carrying a box that looked as if it came from Cat’s Cubby in Hogsmeade. Smiling at her friend and dorm-mate Ivy gave her a quick hug with her healthy arm.
“I have some burns on my arm. I was told someone will be over shortly to look over my arm,” Laura told Ivy shortly smiling at everybody else as they were introduced. Sadie, Hayden who would only still be starting at Hogwarts, then one more girl who Laura didn’t know. She turned up to a named Flo and then a Ravenclaw named Elle approached them handing everyone cookies.

“Thank you,” Laura told the girl being a little surprised over the cookies as she offered one to Ivy. Biting into one Laura listened to the conversation being carried on quietly. She didn’t have anything smart to say. So she didn’t say anything.
Sadie mentioned that Hogwarts should be safe: “Diagon Alley should be safe too. Yet we were attacked.” A shudder traveled down Laura’s back as she curled up around one of the posts of her bed. She wanted to know what was going on. She wanted someone wiser to come and tell them everything was alright. Or that her mother would wake her up and all of this would be just a bad dream. But Laura knew that this wouldn’t be happening.

“But I guess Hogwarts is as safe as any place is,” Laura said slowly thinking back to that DADA class where vampires had attacked.

Elle smiled at Sadie, "Yeah, but if you want to think of it in a positive light, people would have never met and maybe became friends if this hadn't happened. For instance, if you guys hadn't been attacked and ended up here, I would have never known you four."

Then she turned to Lauren, "Well, in my opinion, what makes Hogwarts safe is all the powerful witches and wizards we have here, but that also makes it a target for the Death Eaters. So I guess we'll never really know."

" I agree, Laura. I never thought that Diagon Alley would be attacked with all the witches and wizards that are there at all times, but I still believe that Hogwart's will be safe. I mean, we all know that with all the attacks, that the Ministry will be upgrading the security there, and so will the teachers and Dumbledore. I think that they will use everything possible to keep us safe. But I may be wrong, it's just my opinion," Sadie said.

She sat listening to everyone else, and heard what Elle had said, but Sadie couldn't look on the bright side. She didn't know if her other best friend was alright or not. If Nokomis had made it there and is hurt, then it's all my fault. Sadie kept thinking. She wished that she could go look for Nokomis, but she had been told to stay in her bed. This made her sad, she wanted to know if her friend was okay or not.

She was late. Sometimes she was a little late, but right now she was really late. She hurried toward the fireplace, happy that the little cottage she shared with her mum when she wasn't at school had a fireplace, and now she had her own little bowl of floo powder sitting on the mantle. She grabbed a handful of floo and through it into the fire, jumping in after and calling out 'Diagon Alley.' She never used the floo network very often, but she knew what it was suppose to be like and this was certain not it. After stepping in, she immediately felt like she was being shoved back into her house. She stumbled, and there she was, back in her own living room. At first she was just confused, not really knowing what had happened, so she grabbed another handful of floo power and tossed it into the fireplace again, stepping forward into the fire again, making sure that she spoke loudly and clearly, only to find that the same thing happened again.

She was still to confused to do much of anything when she heard something against the window. She turned to look and saw that it was an owl, but not one that she recognized. She went to the window and pushed it open, pulling the note off the owl's leg and quickly scanned through the very official looking notice.

The Ministry of Magic

If she was confused before, she was really confused now. The note made no sense at all. Why would Diagon Alley be closed...where would everyone who was at the alley, like Sadie be? She decided to try Hogsmead, happing that she was finally old enough to go there all by herself. She moved to her fireplace again and threw another fistful of floo power in, this time going to Hogsmead.

Once in Hogsmead she found that it was more crowded that she had ever seen it before, and she also noticed that most of the people were heading toward Hogwarts. This confused her even further, Hogwarts wasn't open in the Summer, but somehow she found herself following after them. Once she got to Hogwarts, she realized that the crowd was still moving up toward the Hospital wing, and she felt her stomach knot. Why was everyone going to the Hospital wing?

Once she got to the hospital wing, she looked out across the huge room filled with beds. She had never seen so many injured people in her entire life, and as sh looked a little closer, she realized that they were all students. After another moment, she saw Sadie, and then Laura. Hufflepuffs had been hurt!

She ran trough the crowds heading toward them
"Sadie! Laura!"

Sadie heard the familiar voice as it shouted above the rest of the crowd.Nokomis? Sadie thought to herself. Sadie thought that she might just be so worried about Nokomis that she had only imagined that she had heard her voice. Then Sadie heard the same voice shouting Laura's name. This made Sadie raise up a little farther than she was already sitting.

Sadie began to scan the crowd looking for the source of the familiar voice. Then she spotted her, it was Nokomis. Sadie took a deep breath, her friend was okay. " Nokomis, I was so worried that you had already made it to Diagon Alley." Sadie said almost crying. She had done nothing but worry about Nokomis being hurt ever since the attack. She had known that if Nokomis had gotten injured it would have been all Sadie's fault, for inviting her there when she did.

Sadie was glad to see her friend, and then reached in her pocket and felt the chocolate frogs. Sadie couldn't believe that she still had them. She would give them to Nokomis later. She was more happy to see that Nokomis was okay.
