Dear Mom and Dad,
My week has been okay. I have been doing somewhat well in my classes.Things here are so much different. Everyone uses magic. Dad, you would love it here. I have to go now, it's time for dinner. I will write to you next week and let you know more.

I have started making a few friends here, and have finally done what you always asked and made friends with a boy. The people here really are nice, I just have to not be so shy. I'm working on it though. Well I have homework to do. I will write again soon.

I don't know how to tell you this, but your mom is real sick. The doctors can't figure out what is wrong with her, and therefore do not know how to treat her.
I will keep you informed of any more news that we get. We just thought that you should know.

Dad,
I am writing to tell you that my owl was attacked on her way back to me. That is why I am using one of the school's owls. I also write to find out if Mum is doing any better. Please keep in contact and let me know about Mum.
