A New Breath (Morgan)

Cougar stood in the middle of Hogsmeade. He stood and breathed a deep a breath as he could. Wow is it goo to be back to the Wizarding World. His father had let him go, finally. He tried to keep Cougar at home because he missed him, but Cougar's begging consistently finally broke his father down. He looked around at each shop one-by-one. First, Zonko's, ending his eyes on The Three Broomsticks. He suddenly decided to go in Hogsmeade to see if he could find some of his old friends. He remembered some of the stuff his friends and he had been through. All the Way from the ball with Elisabeth to the drama with Rozalis and Maryn's painting. Breakfast with Brook, and hanging with Leon in the dormitories. Then, it was time to leave for the summer, and it was over. But he hoped to cure some of the loneliness by seeing what he could find in the Three Broomsticks.

Cougar walked in slowly hoping so see all his friends at one table so he could just easily get together with them all; however, to his exasperation, He saw no one he knew. With a frown he decided he'd just sit at a table and have a butterbeer. He felt really put down. He then drank a sip, and through the corner of his eye he noticed a girl swat at something. This got Cougar's attention. He turned to see the scene. An older girl tried to hit a butterfly. He watched as she missed and the butterfly landed bu a girl that looked about Cougar's age. She was sitting alone which was very surprising considering it was Summer. Cougar decided to go sit with her. He sat down with a "Hey" just as the butterfly landed on her hand.

Jumping out of bed at the sound of her alarm Morgan rushed into her bathroom, glad to have her own room again. Smelling the food being cooked down stairs Morgan hurried and showered so she wouldn't be late for breakfast. Lifting her head from her closet she looked on her top shelf when she finally spotted her favorite shoes that she had planned on wearing. Slipping her feet into the comfortable etnies she saw they matched perfectly with her lime green sweat pants and white T-shirt. Gripping the door knob she opened her door into her bathroom again and quickly brushed our her hair and tied it behind her with a black ribbon. Frustrated with the fact she couldn't use magic she found getting ready extremely hard. "Morgan, breakfast is ready!" her mom yelled from the foot of the stairs. "Coming!" was all Morgan said as she went to table. After a quick, but delicous breakfast she ran up to her father. "Dad, will you please apparate me to Hogsmeade for a little while? Please?" she said. After a few more of these verses he gave in and sent her running up the stair to grab her favorite Dada muggle athletic bag. Slipping he rmoney in it plus the bit her mother had given her into it she held her father's arm tightly as they disapparated to Hogsmeade.

Letting go of his arm, Morgan waved her father off, glad for the amount of trust she received from him and her mother. Walking toward the Three Broomsticks Morgan debated on whether to get an iced coffee, hot coffee, or to-go butterbeer. Grinning she decided on the iced coffee and quickly received it. Paying she headed to a table in the back near the windows, un sure if their would be a vacancy of a table anywhere. Though some tables looked inviting she found that there was no one their her age. Sitting down at the high seated table she sipped her coffee, wondering what would make of the day. Swinging her feet she felt a butterfly land on her table. Grinning she watched it curiously. Jumping at the voice sh eturned to see a guy her age sitting down at the table. "Hi!" she replied, still a little jumpy. A few seconds later she got over and held out her hand, "Morgan Collins." she said, in more of a friendly way than her startled hello.

Cougar stood mezmerised by the butterfly for a moment before answering, "oh, yeah, sorry I ugh... interrupted you and startled you. I hope I'm not intruding. My name's Cougar Farmer. I am a Ravenclaw in my third year." Cougar said. He again stared at the butterfly it was vary pretty it was kinda scary Cougar thought later how it kept his attention. He tried to sip some butterbeer before looking to the side and adding, "Is that bugger on you arm bothering you?" Cougar wondered if the butterfly was hypnotising her as well.

"Not really bothering my no!" she said smiling. Placing the butterfly careful on the table she took another sip of her drink. "Oh, yeah! I am in my third year, or was, anyway, and I am going to the forth. And I am in Hufflepuff." she said again, remembering the other bit of conversation he had said. ''So, are you staying near here, or are you just here for the day?" she asked him curiously wondering if he lik,e her was just here for the day. Lifting the butterfly again she watched as it moved from one part of her hand to the other before it flew back onto the table. Smiling at the colors of the insect she mentaly copied it to make sure she used it as an example for another one of her drawings. Growing up near muggles she had learned their interests as well, and in her opinion, some of them were'nt so bad.

The played weird games involving a lot of running, sweating, and bouncing, but it was still neat to her on how they survived on zero magic. Even with family where only her and her parents were magic she saw that her grandparents got a lot of help fomr her dad so that they lived easier.

"Yeah I'll be going to the forth too sorry, No, I'm here for the day I live in London. Just came to Hogsmeade to get a little magic in me, you know. My dad's a muggle so I don't get much during the summer. You said you were in Hufflepuff? So you's be the kind to smile and be pretty and laugh and have a good time?" Cougar finished up talking and dragged down the rest of his butterbeer looking around for a waitress to get some more. He started to look at morgan when once again the butterfly caught his attention. It was like it had some kind of powers. "Hey, do you know of any magical butterflies?" Cougar asked inquiratively while actually felling embarrassed a moment later considering he was the one in Ravenclaw.

Laughing at his conclusion of her being always happy she shook her head, "I am so not your average Huflepuff! I am so moody sometimes my friends tell me I'm a true Slytherin." she told him. Looking down at the butterfly she thought for a moment. "Have you ever heard of someone who's an animagus being a butterfly?" she asked him curiously seeing its strange acting. Lifting her drink cshe took another long gulp and found it empty. Wishing she had her wnad to refill it she looked in her bag for some more money. Frowning she decided not to get anything else and instead go to another shop and take her mind off caffine, it being all she ever drank. Lifting her head to natural sight she opened her mouth, "Uh, I was going to go shopping at Zonkos and so I don't just sudden;y get up and leave, you want to come with me?" she asked Cougar, curiously, hoping she wasn't sounding rude in anyway.

Getting up she hurried and threw her cup away and sat back down to wait for an answer.

The girl's response on Hufflepuffleness (if you may)((ooc:I gotta copyright hufflepuffleness)) intrigued Cougar. He was becoming more and more interested when she asked of animagus' forms. Now, Cougar had heard of many animagus. None of which were butterfies or any type of insect for that matter. Cougar then relayed the latter information to the girl. He then listened to the invitation to Zonko's and the passing of trash till Cougar stepped up and graciously accepted the girl's offer to go to Zonko's. Cougar walked ahead and opened the door waiting on this very intriging girl.

"Thanks!" she said as he opened the door. "So, are you looking for something in Zonkos or what's your stoary for being here?" she asked, trying to make conversation. Liking his amount of openess in conversation she waited for an answer, wondering what she should by from Zonkos. After a bit of thought she decided on two fake wands atleast, and a few other pranks she could play on her parents to let them know she was home and for them not to take it lightly. Re-tying the ribbon in her hair she pulled out a peppermint fomr her bag, which was her favorite muggle candy. "Want one?" she asked him as they walked down the streets. Unwrapping her second one she popped it into her mouth to, waiting for an answer.

Cougar put his hands in the pockets of his blue jeans and walked behind Morgan into Zonko's. Upon entering he saw many wonderous items of interest. Cougar picked up some exploding jelly beans and had half a mind to buy one for some people. (a.k.a his muggle dad) Cougar chuckled to himself as he thought this. He continued to look and lost sight of the girl for a few moments before re-uniting by some fake wands. He then heard her speak to him to which he replied, "What's my story for being here? Well, i guess I like your company so I accepted you invitation." Cougar said giving off a smile and looking at her in a piculiar way. He then noticed her take out some peppermint and offer Cougar some. "Sure I'll take a peice." Cougar popped it into his mouth. "Hey, What say to Honeydukes next? I've got to stock up on Bertie Bott's." Cougar asked, waiting for her reply.

Grinning at the thought of candy she nodded. "One second, let me go buy these two wands and we'll leave." Picking two of the fake wands up she pushed her way though all the people to get to the counter. After standing in line for five minutes she arrived at the counter top, wandering how she would be able to see all of her friends again before Hogwarts started again in September. Thinking as she walked back she got an idea. A summer party for all the students at hogwarts. Thinking about she knew that her house and terrace, plus the rest of the yard was big enough, more than big enough actually. Her brain moving faster as she thought she decided to go through with it, and have it the weekend her parents would be going to America to see some of their family. She could stay at home with their house elves and then have the party when they left.

Walking up to Cougar she motioned for him toward the door for less of a walk and then carefully made her way with her newly purchased merchandise. Slipping it into her bag she gladly saw that she had enough money for quite a bit of candy and sugar filled drinks from Honeydukes. Waiting by the door she watched for Cougar to come out.

Cougar watched as Morgan went up to stand in line. Cougar started looking around once again to kill some time. He thought of how after he got in Honeyduke's he'd want all kind of candy, but the small, meak chink in his pocket telling him he'd be lucky if he could afford just one pack of Bertie Bott's much less a bunch of wonderful candy they had in the colorful store. Cougar looked over and saw that the Hufflepuff was still waiting. Cougar thought to himself how this must be killing her to be in one place so long. They must all have like ADD or ADHD. But that was wrong of him to think something so mean. But Cougar loved how they were mostly all upbeat. It was a positive thing. Finally, He saw he leaving and motioning him to do the same. Cougar walked out and saw her waiting. "So, to Honeyduke's?" He asked her. "So what do you have planned for the rest of the summer?" Cougar asked politely.

Seeing him come out she nodded as he asked for honeydukes. Grinning at the next question, she found he was most likely the first person she would invite to her newest scheming idea."Well, nothing so far but I just thought of an idea a few seconds ago! You know how it's a whole summer before we see are friends again at hogwarts all together? Well I think it would be fun to throw a party! Invite everyone from Hogwarts and then just have a blast with ice cream, music, and," and then she remembered her firend Dresden having mentioned costumes a while ago she said, "Oh, and wear costumes or something! My friend mentioned a pirate costume, so I can't take all the credit of my party idea, but hey, whatever!" Realizing she had been talking a lot she felt embarassed. "So, uh, what do you have planned? If nothing on July fifteenth you can be the first one I invite?!" she said, thinking it should be the day after they leave, and four days before they come back.

Lifting her eyes she saw they were close to Honeydukes and because of the fact that he was the only one so far who had talked to her she felt she owed it to him to by him a box of candy, mainly because she usually did the introductions and walked up to people and she had never had anyone come up to her before.

Cougar walked woth her and as they arrived opened the door for her. he walked in and started to fell his mouth water already. They as he put his hand in his pocket he was reminded and put in his place yet again. He started to look at the stuff individually and noticed some new things. He even noticed that the chocolate frogs now had a limited special edition cards inside them. Cougar wondered what was special about them. He decided after leaving her waiting so long in his day dream he should answer her. "Yeah I'll definately wanna be there. I'll have to convince my dad to let me go. I'll just tell him this will be the last time this summer. By the way you're inviting the whole school? You do realise that's like in the tens of thousands. But then again EVERYBODY won't show up so....." Cougar finished feeling he had talked enough. He again was staring at all the candy.

"Yeah! I know the amount, but me being a Huffle probably makes all the Slytherins not want to come so then there are the Ravenclaws, Gyffies, and fellow mes'!" Seeing all the candy catching his eye she grinned. "I see you like me, are obsessed with candy! What's your favorite kind?" she asked him, glad that she wasn't alone when it came to all sorts of candy. Grabbing a basket she began putting all sorts of candy into it, knowing she'd like it all. Adding some bottled caffiene and sugar she grinned excitedly knowing have of the cany would be devoured before lunch time. Spotting the suckers she quickly threw four into it and then stopped, realizing she was getting alittle carried away. "Um, you'll eat some of this right?" she asked, realizing that with her parents being as healthy as they were they wouldn't appreciate her scarfing down as much candy as possible the first day the let her out of the house.

Cougar finally snapped out and started looking at her as she spoke. "Ugh, Yeah I like candy my favorite is actually Bertie Bott's but it's good to have a variety." He watched as the sugar, candy crazed hufflepuff ran off to gather, shall we say ammo, to fuel herself. It was only after ten minutes and Cougar's mouth watering and Cougar finding his one measly bag of Bertie Bott's that he realized she was talking to him again. "Ugh, Yeah I mean I guess I will. If you insist. Only do you happen to have a few bags of Bertie Bott's in there?" Cougar said hoping, as a cheapskake would, that he wouldn't have to buy anything, that he could save his little bit of money and just "help" her by eating what she got. Cougar stared out side as it started to rain a bit. "Great, just what we need," Cougar said aloud.

Seeing the rain begin to fall Morgan thought for a moment. She figured if she bought all of the candy and then they ran they could probably make it to the Hogs Head where it wouldn't be as crouded as everyother place in Hogsmeade. Lifting her head to Cougar she told him her theory and wondered if he was okay with it. She hated to seem bossy or anything like that, but she also hated keeping everything to herself and spoke much of what she thought. Looking at all the candy she put a bit of it back so that she would have some bit of pocket money for her something from a few other places and have enough for lunch because she would be there all day long. Walking up to the counter she pushed her way though the crowd, making sure not to lose her basket in the process. Buying the candy she walked back to Cougar and waited for an answer.

Cougar's mouth watered as he thought about the candy once more but frowned when his mind once again resumed thought on the weather. Apparently Morgan and Cougar thought alike. Cougar was just thinking of candy in the rain. When he heard her proposal it sounded good enough. "Well, That sounds good just if you get a bag and tie it up it should be more than fine. Too bad we can't use magic. I know a spell to keep things dry, but oh well. But yeah, Hogs Head sounds good. I didn't even bring a jacket I totally forgot. Well all I can ask is are you ready to dash?" Cougar ended holding the door open inviting her into the rain to reach the Hog's Head

Seeing him outside in the pouring rain made her grin. She loved to run around in the rain when she was in the mood for it, yet, for some reason, it didn't sound fun at all. Seeing it come down harder she nodded at his invitation and tied up the bag before heading outside. "Race?" she asked him curiously, wondering of his running ability. Everyone excercised in some way or another, and she personaly loved all muggle sports and running, plus flying. But her favorite had always been running. When she lived at home all she had to do was go to a muggle park and people thought she was a normal jogger, but at hogwarts she usually stuck to running around the school trying to get to all of her classes in time. Most people though didn't bother. "So whaddaya think?" she asked Cougar glancing down the street at the Hogs Head.

Cougar's muscles tensed, ready to pounce out of the door. "I guess that sounds good I will give you a head start, I mean you know 'ladies first', right?" Cougar said smilling and shaking his head a bit. "Do you want me to get that?" Cougar asked while motioning with his head toward the bag. He Stood at the doo in a rady running stance with the door resting open on the heel of his foot. He looked behind he as he heard a chuckle and saw the cashier giggling at them. "So, do you think your ready to take on the most fastest wizard alive?" Cougar asked playfully. He looked toward the direction of the Hog's Head. "One, Two, ready, and..." Cougar held the note to drag out the moment, "Go!"
