Spring was beginning to awaken Hogwarts Castle. Snow was no longer visible on the ground nor the left over affects of it. The lake although still a bit chilly, didn't have the thin icy mist over it as usual in the winter months. The air was still cool but there wasn't any need for a heavy jacket. Flowers were beginning to emerge from the dirt and brought color to the earth. Everything was brightening up and becoming much more cheerful to the human eye. It wouldn't be much longer until the grounds were virtually hot and sweaters were not at all needed. It would only be a few more months before the end of the term exams and the OWLS. Only months separated Jamison from becoming a sixth year and leaving the intermediate days behind. These days were precious and traveling fast. Becoming older was a completely different ball game then continuing to be young. His life was changing and Jamison wasn't really sure if that was a good thing. A part of him wanted to remain the same forever. Yet again, he couldn't imagine never fulfilling his dreams he had kept since first year. True, things were changing but it had to all be for the better. It just had to be.
The sun shone brightly through the windows. Jamison winced opening his eyes. He pulled his hand in front of his head shielding it from the light. After a minute of wincing, a still very unawake Jamison reached for his wand and with a flick, the curtains were closed. Slowly, Jamison began to fully become himself. Seconds later he realized it was Saturday. Jamison smiled to himself. He didn't have to worry about classes for the day and his homework was finished. Jamison was left to enjoy the day without the burdens of too much responsibility. It wasn’t that Jamison hated such things, but taking care of an eleven year old did make him want to switch places with her at moments. Wendi had to be taken care of and Jamison was the only one who could watch after her at Hogwarts. Jamison tilted his head stepping from the sheets. Now completely awake, Jamison turned towards the old fashion clock. Eight o’clock. Jamison wasn’t to meet Meyghan until noon. They had agreed to spend the day together in Hogsmeade. Jamison sighed not really having anything to do until that time. He quietly dressed into his plain kaki pants and his blue sweater. With that, Jamison combed his hair for a brief moment, put his wand in his pocket, and went downstairs for an early breakfast.
“Hmmp.” Wendi said two hours later by the lake. “I want to go with you.” She said in her squeaky voice. “You’ve said that fifty times.” Jamison embellished. “So, it’s the truth.” She announced. “When you are a third year, you can come with me.” He said trying to be as polite as he could without showing the slightest sarcasm that was sometimes apparent in Jamison. However, that was rare. “You will be a seventh year then.” She said softly. “Well, I’m sorry I can’t change the rules.” He said showing the smile that could always cheer her up. She smiled a bit but still gave the sad puppy face. “Look, I tell Meyghan hi for you and get you candy.” Her eyes brightened and her lips smiled. Then Wendi tried to act cool. “Fair enough.” She said standing up, hugging him, and then running off. Sisters. Jamison thought to himself. Jamison stood up and made his way to Hogsmeade. He arrived awhile later. Jamison looked at his old family pocket watch. Meyghan still had a good fifteen minutes. Jamison sat in the center of the village where they said to meet. He was glad to be spending the day with her and knew they would both have a good time. Jamison sat patiently waiting.

Meyghan sat up in her bed, and looked out her window. She couldn’t believe that it was already morning. She had not gotten much sleep the night before because of the excitement that she had felt after making plans with Jamison. She realized that she was acting like a first year during their first week of school, but she couldn’t help it. She was glad that she had plans with Jamison, and wouldn’t have to worry about rushing back to get homework done or anything to that extent. She had managed to do all her work in record time, considering that she had not slept. She had stayed up in the Common Room working on homework while listening to some muggle music. She didn’t think that it was before Four O’clock am before she went to bed, and was still not able to sleep. She couldn’t stand tossing and turning all night, so she had gotten up and quietly dug through her wardrobe to find something to wear to Hogsmeade the next day.
Meyghan tried her best to not wake any of her dorm mates, and just lit the tip of her wand for light. She carefully and quietly looked through all of her clothes that she had with her, shaking her head at almost everything she owned. Suddenly Meyghan remembered that she had a beautiful summer type dress in the bottom of her trunk. She had never unpacked the dress, hoping that she would be able to keep it for a special occasion. Deciding that going through her trunk would have to wait until the next day, she decided to try one last time at getting some rest. She recalled her night, just moments after waking, and being happy that it really was morning, and that she had not over slept. She looked for the time; she only had a couple of hours left to get her dress out of her trunk, and find the right shoes and everything to go with it. Thinking that she could probably borrow some jewelry from Dana, seeing as how she never brought her own with her to school, she found the dress, located Dana and borrowed just the right necklace from her.
Deciding that she had wasted enough time trying to make sure everything was perfect; she headed back to her dorm to get ready for the meeting. She wanted to call it a date, but wasn’t sure if she really could. She and Jamison had only agreed to hang out together for a while. Slipping on the baby blue satin and mesh dress, Meyghan turned to look in her mirror. She had always loved the way that the soft pink flowers that adorned the dress brought out the sparkle in her eyes. Meyghan wasn’t sure of the temperature or the weather outside, for she had been too busy to look out the window, so she grabbed a matching satin wrap to go with the dress. Slipping on the powder blue open toes heels that had been bought and dyed just to match the dress, and the blue pearls that she had borrowed from Dana, Meyghan wondered if she was ready. Realizing that she had forgotten her earrings, she realized that the only ones that would match were a pair of dangling silver sparkles. They didn’t really have any decoration on them, with the exception of the fact that the silver curled into a spiral looking design. Meyghan had gotten them on one of her trips to her local muggle shopping centre. She loved go to places like that when she was home for she never knew what she might find that would go perfect with anything that she owned. She looked the watch on her wrist. It almost looked like a bracelet, but she loved it just the same. It was almost time for her to meet Jamison. She had to finish getting ready so that she would have time to get to the village.
She thought of the place that they had agreed to meet, the center of town. It was awesome that she was actually going to get the chance to hang out with Jamison. She couldn’t help but to be excited. She took one last glance in the mirror, and adjusted one last strand of her hair. It was the only thing that hadn’t taken her anytime to do; she had simply pulled it up and left certain strands dangling around her face and just above the nape of her neck. Glancing once again at her mirror, and then her watch, she turned to go out of her dorm.
Walking through the castle toward the entrance, she noticed others whom had gotten just as dressed up as she had, but they hadn’t looked as happy. Meyghan’s emotions were mixed; she was nervous and ecstatic at the same time. She made her way quickly out of the castle, for walking down the path to Hogsmeade would take a few more moments than usual because Meyghan had to be careful of her shoes. She did not want to break a heel on one of them nor stumble in them so she knew that she would have to walk slowly. Pushing open the huge main entrance doors of the castle, Meyghan stepped outside, and made her way toward the gates.
Before Meyghan realized it, she was already in Hogsmeade; the walk had not taken as long as she had thought it would. She had been enjoying the fresh crisp air, and the silence of the walk. She headed for the centre of the village when she noticed that she was already in Hogsmeade. Looking around as she made her way through, she finally spotted Jamison. Waving at him, she made her way over to him before saying a word. “Hi there. You look awesome.” She couldn’t think of much else to say, for the wonderful thoughts of spending the day hanging out with Jamison flooded back into her mind.

Jamison turned hearing the sound of Meyghan's voice. He gave her a bright grin. She really did look pretty as always. Jamison watched as she walked over. Jamison liked Meyghan more than just a friend, but of course he wasn't sure to tell Meyghan that. It was difficult for him. Jamison was a gentlemen and taking things slow was easiest for him. Besides, he didn't even know what Meyghan thought of him as well. Jamison kept the familiar smile on his face listening to her speak. "Thanks, of course you look beautiful." He said kindly in a polite manner meaning the words. Jamison took her hand and kissed it like the true gentlemen he was hoping he hadn't done anything he would regret. Jamison looked around them. It seemed to be th perfect day for couples in Hogsmeade. They were all around the village circling to and walking into various stores. It was a beautiful day outside and Hogsmeade seemed to be the place to go. "I know it sounds a bit cliche, but this is the perfect day to be outdoors." He said still letting out his casual grin that he couldn't suppress. Jamison once again looked at Meyghan.
The day was a bit warmer that Jamison expected. He actually regretted a bit that he wore that sweater, but it wasn't so bad it was unbearable. He was glad when a sudden gust of wind overtook them. Could the weather be more perfect? It was spring yet Jamison felt summer coming faster than anyone could imagine. The year would be ending sooner than anyone could imagine and Jamison felt a bit worried but didn't let it over take him completely. Jamison then glanced from the trance he was in and looked at Meyghan. He hadn't really talked to her since her New Years Party. Things had just been to hectic for everyone and the school work was beginning to be harder as OWLS were closing in on the fifth years. Time was of the essence and Jamison was glad he had time to spend the day with Meyghan and not with a bunch of books in his dorm.
"So, what do you want to do first? We have the whole day and the whole village." He said a bit jokingly but not much. His normal cool tone was heard as he spoke and the smile on his face was eminent. Jamison didn't really care where they went or anything of the sort. He was actually very bad at decision making even though he was sort of required to make them. After all, he did basically raise Wendi, but she wasn't so hard to make decisions about. Jamison was there when she was born and they were closer than life. No, her decisions were easy, but everything else just didn't fit into the Wendi category. Everything else had to be planned and deeply thought in Jamison's mind before it made since. He was much happier with other people making decisions. Of course, that didn't happen often. People thought of Jamison as trust worthy even though he couldn't understand why. He was just a parentless boy trying to live life normally. How could he be trusted with anything of importance? Jamison didn't know the answer to that himself.
Jamison sat patiently waiting for Meyghan to reply. She hopefully had some thoughts on the subject. Jamison waited calmly letting his eyes wander through the village once again. People still seemed a bit scared with all the events upon them. But, the day was too pretty for people to be in total shock. After all, Hogwarts had been hit hard with all the kidnappings of Parvati, Padma, and Hermione. Hermione and Parvati were both seventh year Gryffindors while Padma was in Ravenclaw like Jamison and Meyghan. These events showed no house was safe. Of course, Laura, the poor Hufflepuff had been killed had the beginning of the year and Kris, a Slytherin, had been severely hurt and now both Gryffindor and Ravenclaw were hurt. This scared many people including Jamison but he was still going to live his life. Death Eaters couldn't change his life more than Keith had. Jamison looked at Meyghan calmly.

Meyghan blushed slightly at both being told that she looked beautiful, and the kiss on her hand. She couldn’t help it, she really had not been out with someone so gentle before. “Thanks,” she whispered softly. Looking around, Meyghan came to the conclusion that Jamison was right, it was a perfect day. “The truth is never to cliché, and you are absolutely right. It is a perfect day.” She said smiling, thinking that the day wasn’t only perfect because of the weather, but also because of the company she was sharing at the moment. The day had barely started and already Meyghan didn’t want it to end. Her day was already perfect, and didn’t need an end to make it so sad. Meyghan thought of the hustle and bustle of most of the other fifth years in the castle and how they were all worrying about their OWLs, Meyghan was glad that tests were something that she never worried about. Once something had been driven into her brain, it stayed there until it needed to be accessed again at a later time. This meant that Meyghan was in no rush for time.
Meyghan thought for a few moments before answering Jamison’s next question. “Well, to be honest, I was a bit nervous this morning and missed breakfast. If you are up for it, we could start with getting something to eat.” Meyghan said, gently placing her hand on her stomach, to try to stop it from growling too loudly. She couldn’t believe that she had admitted that she was nervous, but it was the truth, and she might as well be open and honest about everything. Even if she wasn’t truly ready to admit all of her feelings. Meyghan was never good at making plans for spending time with someone, unless it was planning it for someone else, like her father. Meyghan looked up at Jamison with wondering eyes. She always liked to look deep into a person’s eyes and see if she could get some idea of their inner self, their thoughts, and things like that. Jamison’s eyes were beautiful, and captivating, and Meyghan couldn’t seem to pull her gaze away from them.
((Sorry so short, ran out of ideas, mid post, but could finish it off.))

Jamison nodded and smiled as Meyghan said the truth is never cliché. "Right you are." He agreed letting out his usual calm grin. Jamison always had a way of looking perfectly calm and relaxed even if he truly wasn't. That was just one of the things about him even Jamison didn't understand. However, Wendi was known to say that Jamison was never nervous and that's why it never showed. But, of course even happy, brainy Wendi was wrong there. Jamison had liked Meyghan since that first day they met in Hogsmeade. However, he didn't know if he was really ready to admit it. Jamison was a bit shy by nature. He was bad at making decisions and sharing feelings. But, many males had been accused of that over the years. Jamison looked at Meyghan calmly. She was pretty, yes, but there was more to her than that. She was smart, nice, and she loved her father. Also, they both didn't have a mother. However, in Jamison's case, he was lacking a father also. Meyghan was a girl Jamison could relate to in so many different ways and that was one of the many reasons why he was attracted to her.
Jamison only grinned when Meyghan said she didn’t eat in the morning because she was nervous. He smiled. Nervous, eh? This made Jamison feel good inside. It made him feel glad that he wasn’t the only one who was nervous. “No worries. Let’s go get you some food.” He said with a grin on his face. Jamison didn’t want to make Meyghan feel uncomfortable so he just put aside the fact that she admitted she was nervous. Jamison was glad she had admitted it though. It made him feel worlds better about the whole day. Jamison was glad he had the chance to spend the day with Meyghan. He was glad she had agreed. He was even glad Wendi couldn’t come and ruin the day. (Even though she means no harm) It was a good day and for once Jamison didn’t dwell on anything outside of the moment and Hogsmeade.
“So, would you like to go to the Three Broomsticks?” He asked pointing to the direction of the pub. It was a friendly place where many Hogwarts students accumulated during the spring. Some students however were known to venture to the Hogshead, but Jamison wouldn’t dare go there unless he had a very good reason. Jamison kicked the ground for a brief moment before looking back at Meyghan. He didn’t really know what kind of food she liked so he couldn’t really make another suggestion. Unless of course she liked tea. Jamison waited for her to reply as he looked around the village around him.
((No worries, I ran out of ideas too. Also, sorry it took me awhile.))

Meyghan wondered where would be the best place to eat. Certainly the Three Broomsticks had wonderful food and snack, but was it really what Meyghan was looking for. She thought a moment about the other places they could go. None of them really seemed to fit the mood Meyghan was in. It was a wonderful spring day, and Meyghan wanted to enjoy it. "I got an idea. Maybe we could get Rosemerta to pack us a picnic lunch. I mean it's spring, and what better place to be than outdoors. We could go sit in that little clearing near the Shreiking Shack. We definately wouldn't be bothered there." Meyghan liked the idea, and wondered if Jamison would too. A picnic would give them some alone time. Meyghan liked the thought of alone time, it would give them extra time to talk about anything and everything.
Meyghan started twisting a strand of hair that had fallen around her face while she waited on Jamison to answer. It was just something she did when she hoped someone would like her suggestions. It was done partly out of nervousness that her ideas weren't any good, and partly out of habit. Meyghan smiled while she waited for a reply.
((o.k. have explained the delayed reply already, so just going to say sorry it's so short.))

Jamison smiled at Meyghan's idea. It was certainly better than his. Jamison liked the idea plus they could spend time together alone instead of in a crowded pub which is hard to hear over. Besides, Hogsmeade didn't really have that many food establishments. Just a few and most of them were pubs. Well, there was that tea place, but Jamison had never really liked it. That was a popular hang out for students that severely liked each other. And of course Jamison and Meyghan weren't to that point yet. He liked her a lot and Jamison thought she liked him, but they were still getting to know each other. However, already they had alot in common. Jamison liked being with Meyghan and he hoped she felt the same way as him. Jamison nodded his head to Meyghan's idea. "Sounds great." He smiled. Jamison watched as Meyghan twisted a strand of her hair. He had noticed that about her in the past. It didn't bother Jamison at all. Actually, he found that very attractive for some strange reason. Wendi did the same hair twisting thing when her hair was down. Actually, that was quite rare for her as she usually wore it up in a bun type thing. But, when it was down she couldn't resist but twirl it. When Wendi did it, Jamison found it some what annoying. When Meyghan did it, Jamison found it truly attractive. Just like she was. "Let's go ask her then." Jamison said calmly nodding towards the Three Broomsticks. Jamison waited for Meyghan to respond and then started walking in the direction.
As they entered, Jamison held the door open for Meyghan and let her go first. Some people saw it as gentlemen like. For Jamison, it was just a habit. His grandparents had raised him on customs and he usually always followed them. He couldn't help it really. AS they walked to the counter Jamison searched for Rosemerta. He turned to Meyghan. "Umm, do you want anything specific to eat or do you have any ideas?" He asked calmly. Jamison was said this kind of shy. Sometimes he wanted to be more in charge, but it just seemed kind of stupid. Besides, he didn't want to order anything for Meyghan that she wouldn't want. After all, he didn't really know what kind of food she ate. Jamison continued to look for Rosemerta as he waited for Meyghan to answer. He said there calmly waiting for an answer.
((Ok, sorry for the shortness and sorry for the delay. I haven't had much inspiration for Jamison nor have I been home.))
