((OOC: I thought this would be a perfect place since only third years and up can go to hogsmeade during the school year ;D ))
Monica shoved her hands into her black pant pockets, it was a little chilly out and she inwardly was cursing herself for not dressing to the weather occasion. Aside from her clothes being uncomfortable it seemed that other students were feeling the same way about their own clothing. Shops, restaurants and pubs were filled with the freezing students along with the regular Hogsmeade occupants.
A sudden gust of wind blew her hair into her face, causing her to take a freezing hand out of her pocket and brushed it away. Looking into the sky in order to curse the dreary gray clouds she realized she was right under a swinging wooden sign. "The Hogshead”, she breathed, letting out a cloudy breath of air. The windows were filled with dust and cobwebs. She let out a sigh anything was better than this ugly weather.
A little bell tinkled as she opened the door, causing some shady figures at the bar to turn and stare. What was Monica a slytherin doing in such a dirty place? The answer, she had nowhere else to go and nothing better to do. She had only resorted to Hogsmeade one other time and she had ended up inside the infamous Shrieking Shack helping an older student out of a hole in the step. So she guessed Hogsmeade had a certain air of adventure about it.
Taking a seat a couple away from the door (just in case she had to make a run for it) she took her sleeve and began rubbing it against the layers of dust on the window. Students were running rapid looking for a nice quiet, warm place they could be until the cold front ended. They would be able to retreat to the bus then. Monica let out a sigh and relaxed into the seat, this would definitely do for the time being.

Lavender pulled her coat tighter around her. It was still too chilly. She couldn't believe how soon winter had fallen upon them. It seemed like it had just been yesterday that the sun was pouring down on them warming everything in it's touch. Now, the clouds kept the sun from view and the wind blew right threw her clothes. Lavender wanted to get out of the cold. She had no where to go, but a small pub near her. She looked up at it and saw that it was the Hogs Head. She had only been in there one other time. That was back in her 5th year when she was listening in about the D.A. It had been quite an interesting little meeting, even though Umbridge had ended up finding out about the meeting. Lavender looked back at the door to the Hogs Head and then felt the chilly wind. Anything was better than nothing.
Lavender opened the door and walked inside. The air warmed her immediately. She closed the door quickly and was startled at the shady figures that watched her. She knew it was probably odd to see a 7th year Gryffindor in their midsts. She was pretty girlie to, so it didn't help that she was a perfectionist about the way she looked. To be caught in a place with more dust than tables, chairs, and costumers combined was something very different for her. She walked to the bar with confidence, however, and ordered a Butterbeer. She knew it was rather odd for students to come in to the Hogs Head. It was rather a dodgy pub anyway. Looking around she spotted another student from Hogwarts. She was sitting alone at a table near the door.
Lavender gave the bartender a few sickles and then took her warm Butterbeer and sat down at the table the girl was sitting at. She was younger than her and by the expression on her face was probably in Slytherin. "Hello, Lavender Brown," Lavender said as friendly as possible. She was already type casting the girl as a normal Slytherin. Maybe she wasn't like the others. Maybe she was one of the nice ones that were only in their because that wanted to prove themselves to their parents who were total jerks. Lavender had no idea, but she wasn't going to let herself outcast the girl just because she was in Slytherin. She took a drink of her Butterbeer as she waited for the girl to answer.

Monica felt another chill air touch her body. She knew that it was a signal that somebody entered. She didn’t bother to look because she knew it probably was another old musty guy entering. She continued to glare threw the frozen window. By then it seemed that all of the students were huddled in a pub having fun with there friends. This wasn’t common for Monica she didn’t have any friends.
It was mostly because she was so quit except when she had to tell somebody off or just because she was having a mentally break down. She always held her anger inside, never showing any signs of depression. She didn’t like people knowing that she felt bad, not even people in her own house. She sat there taking another sigh. She then heard a chair close by and watched the girl sat at her table. ‘What does she want? To bother me like all those other Gryffindor’s? She thought raising her eyebrows listening to the older Gryffindor introduce herself.
She didn’t budge to introduce herself but the words were ringing in her head. ‘Monica Henshaw’ she thought. She stared at the girl with a sharp eye, while slowly she put her hand in her pocket to retrieve her wand just incase. She kept staring at the girl not knowing what to say. Monica just stared at her, wondering if the Gryffindor was going to say anymore.

((I am so sorry that I didn't respond sooner. I've been so busy with school. Things just picked up this last two weeks. I've had so many exams and papers I've had to do. )) Lavender sat still waiting for the girl to say something, but no words came out of her mouth. "Excuse me, are you going to say anything? Or are you like all the rest of those Slytherins? Never talking to anyone you consider under you," Lavender said with a bit of venom. She was tired of Slytherins thinking they were better than everyone. They were always making all the other houses look stupid and unimportant. They were so stuck on themselves and He-who-must-not-be-named. The Dark Lord, Lavender thought to herself. She began to wonder what this girls take was on him. She wondered if she supported his idiotic notions. Lavender began to think that this Slytherin was not a good one. She began to think that this girl was on the wrong side. That she was evil, just like the other Slytherins. Ignorant and evil. Lavender wouldn't let herself leave, though. She was determined to make this Slytherin realize that they needed to respect their elders. She sat staring straight at her without blinking and without saying anything. She would stare this girl down if she had to, but she would not leave.

Monica glared at the girl. She raised her eyebrows she was amazed that the girl didn’t say anything back. “Go ahead, start talking about your idiot thoughts about the slytherins and Gryffindors!!” She knew that this student wasn’t going to leave. ‘Is it my chance, then?’ she thought to herself. ‘No, Stay quite Monica. Just stay Quite!’ she thought to herself. Why should she talk to her than to girls in her own house? She knew that it wouldn’t value talking to an icky Gryfffindor. She then heard giggles in the background. It sounded it was coming from younger students. Monica then looked back at the window. There was some third years laughing to their heart’s content. One of the third years was telling jokes, which made it quite amusing for the kids friends.
Monica then turned her head back, and frowned that the girl was still there, as if she didn’t want to leave. ‘What am I doing here anyways?’ she thought. ‘There’s no reason to be here. Maybe I should head back to the castle even with the bad weather.’ Monica then stood up from her seat. She didn’t care if she hadn’t dressed appropriately for the weather. She was going to walk back to the castle. Monica then walked over to the door, not knowing if the older girl was going to fallow her or what trying to be brave and all. She opened the door of the pub. But when she did she noticed the weather was worse. There was wind blowing from every direction. It was howling really loud. There was snow falling from the sky but was blowing in every direction from the wind. The street looked deserted. It seemed that all of the other students had left hogmeade and were already back in Hogwarts by now. Monica closed the door and sat back down in her seat she was before. She was now stuck with this Gryffindor even if she liked it or not.

Lavender sat watching the Slytherin. The girl was glaring at her and before long the girl actually spoke. Yelled more like it, about Lavender's views on Slytherins and Gryffindors. Lavender raised an eyebrow as she watched the girl. She seemed to be desperate to leave. Lavender didn't say anything though, she didn't want this girl to lose it completely. The girl definitely needed to calm down and just realize that Lavender was not an enemy. The houses of Hogwarts needed to unite under one banner, not continue to fight among themselves. To survive this war everyone needed to work together, even the Slytherins. 'Of course, Slytherins are usually on the other side. Maybe they don't want to unite, maybe it's there plan...' Lavender thought to herself as she continued to watch the girl.
Suddenly, the girl stood and bolted toward the door. She obviously didn't want to be stuck with Lavender anymore. Lavender turned and watched her go to the door, but she didn't leave once she opened it. Lavender felt the cold hard breeze as she opened the door. She glanced out the window and saw the storm clouds rage on. Things were getting worse and there was nothing to do to stop it. Lavender turned back as the girl came back tot he table and sat down. Lavender raised her eyebrows in surprise. She was brave to continue to stay in the company of a Gryffindor. Most Slytherins would have bolted for home even in the freezing cold and storm. Lavender knew she would have an interesting story to tell her friends later when she got back to the castle. "So, what's your name?" Lavender asked again. She made sure her voice was calming and soft. She didn't want the girl to freak out again. 'Maybe, just maybe, the Slytherin would open up,' Lavender shook her head at the thought. A Slytherin opening up to Gryffindor not in this lifetime.

Monica sat with her head down staring at the wooden table. SHe couldn't stop the ideas rushing threw her mind. 'It is my fault' she thought. this kept ringing in her head as always. She felt so unsecure that she couldn't do anything the same way she did before. She couldn't remeber the last time she felt happy. Or if that ever exsisted. She knew that her family wanted to keep it a secret, but it revealed itself. And it revealed it to the wrong person...It was revealed to herself...Monica Henshaw... News like this was never meant to be spoken, read or heard. But obviously it did. Beside she knew she couldn't change the past. Monica was suffering mentally and physically. She just couldn't take it anymore.
This time she stood up without makig eye contact with the former Gryffindor. Sheran threw the door, slammed it open and ran. She ran under the greyish sky abouve her. But where will she go next? To the castle? NO. She didn't know where but she kept running.
