The city of Hogsmeade was full of excited people hurrying to buy their presents in time for Christmas Day. It was one exactly one week a way and it would be a shame to forget a gift for a loved one. Jamison had previously purchased gifts for his entire family and friends and there were none left to buy. It was a relief knowing that everyone was taken care of and he wouldn’t have to stress anymore on finding the perfect gift. Jamison hated giving unwanted presents and spent much time trying to find the perfect presents. Wendi was easy to shop for as he bought her Honeydukes sweets and a necklace with an almost life-like glowing fairy pendant. The gift was perfect for his cheerful sister as she loved fairies and things of the sort. The other gifts were much more difficult, but Jamison figured it all out. However, Jamison had no clue what he was getting for Christmas and didn’t really care. As long as not a single gift came from his uncle, he was happy. Jamison didn’t want the person who killed his parents bringing joy to; he never accepted the gifts he loved to send. But, he might not be able to avoid them forever.
Jamison casually brushed past many shoppers’ shoulders as he walked. The streets were immensely crowded and very hard to walk through soundly. Jamison winced a few times upon hitting a few people accidentally. He apologized nicely and the walked further. Jamison loved to explore the village as it had many things to offer. This year, Jamison’s grand-parents had opted to make the children stay at Hogwarts. They thought it much safer. However, they did make arrangements for Jamison to come home for a weekend, but he soon went right back to Hogwarts much to the comfort of his sister, Wendi. Jamison would have gladly brought her into Hogsmeade with him, but first years weren’t allowed while at school. So, he tried to forget about his loneliness and headed towards Honeydukes to find some sweets for himself.
The shop smelled warmly of sugared candies and the smell seemed everlasting. The store was of course crowded, but Jamison managed to make his way inside without bumping into anyone. He smiled warmly as the people passed him. They seemed so happy with their families. Most of Jamison’s friends went home for the holidays, but of course they could still visit the village. However, Jamison had seen not a one. The other families seemed so happy around him. True, maybe a bit scared from all the attacks, but they were basically happy. Jamison of course had never known this as his parents died when he was four and couldn’t remember them. He was just looking at the sweets by the door when he heard the bell ring and saw someone enter. It was a beautiful girl and it took him a second before Jamison realized he recognized her. He looked away hoping she wouldn’t see his small glance at her. He then politely looked through the racks of sweets for a small gift for Wendi.

Meyghan loved the smell that came from inside Honeyduke's. It drew her to the store, and no matter how hard she would fight it, she couldn't. Every time she would go into Hogsmeade, she always managed to be inside Honeyduke's. Meyghan loved coming to Hogsmeade, it allowed her to get the perfect present for her father, and sometimes the right ones for her friends as well. It also allowed Meyghan the opportunity to see if there were any new wizarding art supplies. Meyghan loved to paint, and was going to eventually find a way to paint the whole village.
Meyghan watched the bustle and tussle of wizard, witches and kids trying to find the perfect gifts at almost the last minute. It slightly amused Meyghan. She knew that she had already bought most of her gifts, and the one she had left she would have to go to a muggle pet store to get. That would be for her brother. He was, for some unknown reason, obsession with muggle animals. Meyghan thought it was cute, the way her brother had muggle pets.
Meyghan made her way to Honeyduke's ever so gracefully. She didn't want to seem as if she were in a rush, for in reality she had all the time she needed. She opened the door slowly and stepped into the store. Taking a look around, she noticed a boy from her school. Meyghan hoped that she would be able to find the courage to talk to him. Meyghan had talked to cute guys before, but something was different this time. She wasn't sure what. She knew that he was in the same house as she was, and believed he was in the same year, but she wasn't entirely sure.
Meyghan looked around at the sweets wondering what she should get, and hoping that it would help her find the courage she needed.

a miJamison tried to ignore the girl politely for a moment and to concentrate on buying Wendi a gift. Although, it was hard as she was pretty. However, Jamison was a gentlemen and knew girls didn't appreciate the constant staring. Jamison also would never want a boy like that for Wendi. He knew better than to be an obsessive girl crazed boy. It just wasn't him and probably would never be. He reached for a bag that seemed interesting. It was a candy he had never seen before and that was quite unusual. They were in the shape of Bertie Bots Every Flavoured Beans, however they talked. It was quite comical actually. They were bewitched to say random phrases like "Hey there." or "Watch it!" Jamison laughed at the humorously as he looked at the other shelves determined to find Wendi at least one more thing.
Jamison kept knocking into people and tired his best not to. However, it was difficult with children running every which way and adults paying for purchases. Many first years were around and they seemed to be having a great time. Of course, they went home for the holiday and had the option of coming with their parents. Jamison felt sorry for Wendi as she was alone in the castle. Every one of her friends had gone home for the holidays. Also, Jamison couldn't spend every second with her as they were in different houses. It was like this for several holidays and Jamison decided to bring her a few sweets to lighten the mood. He reached for a bag of chocolates just for her.
Jamison was almost done with Wendi, but he could pick up sweets for others just to be nice. His grandfather never got Honeydukes sweets and it would be nice to send him with a school owl. Jamison then again looked at the pretty girl. She of course, was shopping too. However, it could be for her or someone else. Jamison recognized her from school and casually walked up to her. "Those look good." He gave a small joke pointing towards a box of candies. It was a casual way to brake the ice. Jamison could be funny at times, but not every second. "Hi, I'm Jamison Parson." He said nicely. Jamison reached his hand out to greet her. "And you are?"

Meyghan looked around for something interesting to give her younger brother Cleveland. He wasn't able to get Honeyduke's treats unless someone sent them to him, so Meyghan liked to find interesting and funny candies to send him. She had given him just about everything in the store at one time, and was hoping to find something new. But she was having trouble looking through the candies for getting pushed and shoved by the busy shoppers.
Meyghan couldn't help but to glance over at the boy she had noticed from time to time. There was just something about him, it made him seem alluring. Meyghan thought the boy was exceptionally cute, but she didn't think that she would ever say that out loud. She hoped that he wouldn't notice that she was glancing at him from time to time. It would be completely embarrassing if he did. Meyghan tried to blend into the crowd, as she made her way over to the Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans. Cleveland loved the weird flavors and seemed to always get a new one in the bags that Meyghan would send him.
Meyghan suddenly heard a very guy sounding voice. Turning to see who was speaking to her, she felt her heart flutter. It was the boy from her house, whom she had been stealing glances at every since she had come into the store. " I doubt my brother would like those. He likes the weird and unusual candies." Meyghan said slightly giggling. She hoped that she didn't get too giggly. She had a habit of being that way. " I'm Meyghan. It's nice to meet you, Jamison. Are you shopping for your self, or for a friend as well?" Meyghan couldn't believe that she had found her voice long enough to even speak her name, far be it that she managed a whole sentence or two.

"Nice to meet you." Jamison said in his usual cool tone. He had of course seen Meyghan a few times at Hogwarts since they were in the same house, but they had never officially met. She seemed nice and was defiantly pretty. But, that of course wasn't what makes a person truly beautiful. Jamison learned that what is on the inside really matters when he was very young. Corny, yes, but he did believe it. Jamison was a gentlemen and a good one at that. He was sweet to everyone even Slytherins and tried his hardest to behave. That's just who he was and Jamison didn't want to change it. He looked around the room. Still crowded as usual. It seemed a few third years had taken up "throw the candy". It was sort of annoying, but Jamison could understand their joy.
He smiled sweetly listening to Meyghan. It was a pretty name and it fit her very well. "Oh, I'm shopping for my sister, Wendi. I already bought her Christmas Present, I just feel sort of bad for her. See, we both stayed at Hogwarts for the holidays and since she's a first year, she can't come to Hogsmeade with me." Jamison offered. He knew how much Wendi would give to be with him at the moment. He almost stayed with her, but the castle was boring even for Jamison. He had offered to give her one of his books, but of course that didn't intrigue the Hufflepuff. She was much more interested in games, but was still very smart. Wendi was such a bright, interesting child and that's why Jamison adored being around her.
Jamison again looked at Meyghan. "So, your brother likes exotic candies?" He asked politely just curious. Just then, a third year ran into Jamison. He looked at the boy kindly, but still with a stern look in his eyes. "Be sure to watched where you're going." He said calmly. "You wouldn't want to hurt the pretty girl." He looked at Meyghan. The boy looked at her, and shook his head no. His face blushed a brilliant shade of pink as he ran off. "Sorry about that." Jamison said to Meyghan. "I can help you with your shopping if you would like me to." He said kindly in his handsome voice. "I can protect you from the third years." He made an obvious joke and waited for an answer.

Meyghan thought about what it was like in her younger years to be stuck in the castle while the older students all left for Hogsmeade. "She must be so bored. My younger friend Sadie could probably keep her some company though. Sadie had to stay at the castle for the holidays as well." Meyghan said, wishing that she had known, so that she could have invited more people to her house for Christmas. Meyghan loved to throw parties, and this had been one year that she hadn’t thrown a Christmas party. She had tried to wait and save all of her energy and ideas for the big New Year’s party that she was planning.
Meyghan knew she was being completely shy and a bit bashful at the same time, but that was only because of how she thought of Jamison. She had always thought he was cute, but didn’t know that he was such a sweet gentleman as well. “Thank You,” was all she could muster up when Jamison stopped the younger student from bumping into her. “So, do you and your sister have any plans for New Year’s?” Meyghan knew what she was thinking. Maybe she could invite Jamison and his sister to the party so that she could get to know him better. She thought that it would be a good idea. She wasn’t sure of that though.
Meyghan spaced off into a daydream for a moment and was brought back to reality when Jamison asked about her brother’s obsession with exotic candies. “Yeah, I don’t know where he gets it from, but he has a tremendous taste for the weird ones. Things like those talking Bertie Bott’s beans over there would be very much to his liking.” She said softly hoping that Jamison hadn’t noticed her daydreaming. She loved the company she was in, and didn’t know what had made her start daydreaming.
Meyghan was pleased when Jamison offered to help her with the rest of her shopping. She actually blushed at his offer. "If you are sure that I wouldn't be taking up too much of your time, I would love the company. Every young lady needs to be protected from these hyper third years." Meyghan replied giggling slightly at her last statement. It was true in its own way. The third years did tend to get too rowdy and rambunctious for their own good during their trips to Hogsmeade.

Jamison nodded. "Yea, I feel bad for the younger students. I know I hated being a first and second year." He said nicely remembering those days. They seemed so far away, but Jamison could still fully remember them. He usually stayed at Hogwarts for the holidays anyway. It was much safer than a city where his uncle was searching for Jamison and his sister. of course, Keith could be any where, but he seemed afraid of the castle for some reason. What he was afraid of, Jamison had never been able to figure out. Jamison smiled as Meyghan said thank you for explaining things to the third year. He smiled handsomely like normal. They could be so annoying, but Jamison knew he was once like that too. He had been very active and fun in his younger days. Of course, he still kept that gentlemen quality he always had. Those days were faded also. Jamison was still funny, but not naive like he used to be.
Jamison smiled warmly looking into Meyghan's pretty eyes. He paused at her question. "Not as of yet." He said politely not entirely sure what she was getting at. He soon forgot that wearing a bright smile. "Yep, my sister will eat any sort of candy. She doesn't care as long as it's really sugar." He said laughing. Jamison listened intently to Meyghan's reply. "Of course I would love to escort you around the shops. That is true I wouldn't want to see you hurt." He said in his gentlemen tone. The third years seemed to be heading to a different store by this point. It seemed Jamison had got the better of the leader.
"So, where to first?" He asked politely. Jamison stood tall so he sort of looked like a tall body guard in a funny way. He wasn't huge or anything just a bit intimidating to little kids. He of course was a nice gentlemen who liked everyone. Jamison loved talking to people about anything. He especially loved to talk about books and music. Jamison had a good taste for books and he loved to play guitar. He taught himself at a very young age and loved to write his own songs also. He did this in his free time when he wasn't studying. Jamison looked around again. The shop was less crowded so he escorted Meyghan through the small crowd out of the shop. He smiled at her. "Lead the way."
