Afternoon Escape ((Monica))

With a a hot, steaming cup of cocoa in hand, Cass left Madam Rosmerta's gossiping with wildly with some friends. The holidays had begun, and it was getting harder and harder for Cass to get away from Blackfire Manor. In fact, she had to beg Uncle Charles to let her floo to Hogsmeade to see a few of her friends. Melody and Meloeny had met her this morning at a robe shop at the end of the village, and helped Cass pick out some dress robes for a charity event that Lust was dragging her to. Most likely, she was going to show her off to all of her pureblood friends, telling them how nice she was being letting her poor orphaned niece to come live with them.

The three friends had talked about all sorts of things from boys, to clothes, to Liam, to news, and then back to boys. It seems like they were becoming obsessive about the whole subject of guys since they almost talked about them constantly. Of course, Cass was happy with her relationship with Liam. He was an awesome guy, and she was lucky to have him. Although, he was frustrating the hell out of her. " Liam is so reserved guys. I sometimes wish he would just do something exciting for once. He's just so stuffy and gentlemanly." Cass frowned. " For once, I would just like him to surprise me."

Her friends nodded in agreement. They had both met Liam, and both had felt that he had been a little anti-social at the time. However, she didn't think it was because he was anti-social, only nervous about new social environments. They only agreed glumly, not wanting to upset their friend about her relationship.

After Cassie felt that she had spent enough of her Aunt and Uncle's money, the three friends went their separate ways. Meloeny and Megan went home while Cass trudged back up to Madam Rosmertas. She wasn't quite ready to go home, and wanted to continue to enjoy her afternoon out. Ordering some more cocoa, she picked up a copy of Quidditch News and settled into one of the back booths.

Monica shoved her hands into her black pant pockets, it was a little chilly out and she inwardly was cursing herself for not dressing to the weather occasion. Aside from her clothes being uncomfortable it seemed that other students were feeling the same way about their own clothing. Shops, restaurants and pubs were filled with the freezing students along with the regular Hogsmeade occupants. A sudden gust of wind blew her hair into her face, causing her to take a freezing hand out of her pocket and brushed it away. Looking into the sky in order to curse the dreary gray clouds she realized she was right under a swinging wooden sign. "The Hogshead”, she breathed, letting out a cloudy breath of air. The windows were filled with dust and cobwebs.

A little bell tinkled as she opened the door, causing some shady figures at the bar to turn and stare. What was Monica a slytherin doing in such a dirty place? The answer, she had nowhere else to go and nothing better to do. She had only resorted to Hogsmeade one other time and she had ended up inside the infamous Shrieking Shack helping an older student out of a hole in the step. So she guessed Hogsmeade had a certain air of adventure about it. She walked to a vacant table a waiter appeared, with a goofy smiled. Monica rolled her eyes, raising her eyebrows and said, “Leave, me alone”. She watched the waitress walk away quickly and she laughed.

She then started to read the paper in her hands. There was an article discussing of Hogwarts not being safe anymore. She threw the paper onto the ground and started mumbling to herself. ‘ Hogwarts is safe. I’m capable of defending my self. I don’t need those stupid Aurors. The only thing that is making Hogwarts weak is the Headmaster falling for every trick’ she thought sneering at this. She then saw a first year Gryffindor walk in staring at her. “What do you want? Never seen a slytherin before” she said almost getting off her chair. The Kid walked out of the pub as fast as her little feet would allow her. Monica sneered. 'More filthy and snobby children attending this school year' she thought frowning in disappointment. 'As if they need an education they can’t even talk appropriately to any slytherin.’ She thought.

Cass was suddenly distracted by what seemed like very angry yelling. Turning to look out of the booth, she saw Monica Henshaw, a Slytherin in her year, yelling at a younger student. Anger blazing, she couldn't decide whether she rush after the young student or confront Monica forthwith. Not really sure if she wanted to have another fight in Rosmerta's bar, she bit her lip in frustration. Cass pushed passed Monica, making sure to knock in her the shoulder, and headed out the girl. Cass followed the sobbing noises and soon found the girl in the alleyway.

" Hey, don't cry," Cass knelt down beside the short girl as she continued to sob. She pulled a handkerchief with the Blackfire Crest on it from her pocket and offered it to the girl. The girl took it gratefully. " It's okay. Slytherins don't know how to treat other people right. They are only concerned with things that are not important." The girl turned her tear stained face towards Cass and blew her nose. She offered the hankey back. A little disgusted, Cass put her hand up. " No, no keep it. It's yours now."

Monica finished her cursing when she felt something bump into her sholders. She then relized it was a Gryffindor who had just bumped into her. But not just any Gryffindor, she was a fourth year named Cassandra or something like that. Monica heared that she was a Gryffindor who always tried to make it look that slytherins were just snobbs. Monica flustered in anger
at this. She swifltey got out of her seat falloed this girl out of the door while taking her wand out of her pocket. "Oh NO she didn't" She thought. Monica stood over this Gryffindor who was now tryuing to aid the younger girl that she had bothered. She listned to this Gryffie girl she then heraed her saying "It's okay. Slytherins don't know how to treat other people right. They are only concerned with things that are not important" Monica got even more furious when she heared this looking down at both of these idiotic people she yelled. "SLYTHRINS ARE MEAN AND FISTY BUT YOU CAN'T SEE THAT MISS GODDIE TWO SHOES!!!" she pulled out her wand and ready to have a duel with this so called girl even if it meant breaking the rules.
