"Chocolate frogs....Acid pops...Gummi Bears?" Flo was looking through the shelves, pouring through all of the candy and other sugary things that was bought in Honydukes everyday. That day, Flo had been Christmas shopping, for all of her family. For her mother, she bought a beautiful hat, the Flo knew she would love. For her father, Flo had bought a fake mustache, because he looked really funny, that he didn't have one anymore. And for he little brother Tim, Flo still hadn't bought him anything. Thats why she had been staring at the shelves of Honydukes, looking for something that she could get him. She had already looked in Zonkos, but he had practically bought everything there.
So there was Flo, standing with her shopping bags, staring at the shelves, wondering what to buy. She also wanted to but something for herself, not to mention her friends. But Flo loved shopping, she really didn't mind if she was going to be there all day. Flo started to tap her side, as she still looked for something. Nothing was good for Tim. Flo decided to stop looking for Tim, and grab a chocolate frog for herself. He could have the card! Giggling to herself, Flo went to the counter to pay for the frog and then put it in one of the bags, walking out of the shop. Next, Flo decided to look for something for her cat. Every year she got a gift for her cat. She loved it, because Squibbles hardly ever got anything. She decided not to get him anything he could eat, he was starting to get fat. Something to play with was a good idea. Flo thought she should sit down first, or her legs might break of. Oh well, I can eat the chocolate frog now. Flo told herself. Smiling, she reached into the bag and took out the chocolate frog. Flo opened it and looked at the card. She had never even heard of the wizard on the card, but she did know that Tim had about two of them already. Oh well, I'll keep it, and look for something else for Timmy.

“Really? And you don’t want my charming company?” Kris asked with fake shock raising his left hand that was also holding Cleo’s hand over his heart theatrically, “I’m wounded!” “Yeah, right. It would take a natural disaster to even dent your ego,” Cleo laughed back at the Slytherin sidestepping a slippery-looking patch on the side-walk as she held onto Kris’s hand with both of hers. It was shocking really. It had taken one lousy night for Cleo, actually just an hour or two and now Cleo couldn’t even imagine what she’d do without Kris. They had really became the best friends in a matter of days. Besides Kris was warm. At least his hands were. And Cleo had once again managed to loose her gloves somewhere so her own fingers were pretty much freezing off, “But you have a meeting to get to. And I need to go and buy myself a pair of gloves. I’ll see you back at the castle.” Kris smiled and gave her hands a calm squeeze before he departed towards the post-office to floo off to attend his own business.
Feeling the loss of the warmth of his hand immediately, Cleo sighed and pushed her fists deeply into the pockets of her white knee-length mantle as a gust of wind tugged playfully at her loose hair making it fly around her head. Not that Cleo minded. She adored her head but it was relatively cold. So she should most likely stop staring of into the window of a quidditch store and find somewhere where she could get crème or white leather-gloves. Perhaps some subtle patter sewn on the back of the gloves even? Starting to walk again Cleo hummed a Christmas lyric carrying out form the momentarily open door of the quidditch store while tapping a rhythm on her leg in her pocket. Picking her way carefully – her white heeled boots looked great, but weren’t really the greatest on slippery ground – Cleo crossed the street glancing around the street ponderingly.
Well, she didn’t get any idea as to where she should start her shopping, but she did see the door to Honeydukes. And a very familiar hair-colour of the girl near the door. Catching Flo’s eyes Cleo offered her a greeting nod and a calm smile as she continued walking at the same time as before. Why hurry anyway? “Good day, Flo. Merry Holidays in case I won’t see you again before Christmas actually reaches us,” Cleo greeted calmly as she smiled at the younger Hufflepuff girl. Their first meeting had been rather random, but Flo had seemed rather cheery and fun. No harm in greeting her now before heading off with her hunt for gloves.
((I didn’t really understand if you were eating the Frog inside Honeydukes or outside it, so *grin* try to work with this, alright? Or tell me exactly where you were so I could modify.))

Flo had finished looking at the card, and the chocolate frog had hopped away, so Flo was busy, staring into space. Flipping the card with her fingers, Flo looked around, and was about to get up again, when she saw fiery red hair, which only meant that Cleo was walking past. Flo had never met a person with hair that red. Flo loved the colour. She saw that Cleo nodded towards her, and Flo smiled, and then watched as Cleo looked like she was about to keep walking, but then stopped, and then started to talk to Flo. "Hi Cleo! You have a nice holiday too!" She replied in her usual cheery way.
Remembering their last meeting, Flo pictured Cleo with her tail and horns that Kris had given her. "Haven't gotten anymore tails lately?" Flo asked, giggling as she said it.
((Flo is outside, but it still works. Lack of imagination. Sorry I took so long!))

“I shall,” Cleo replied calmly at Flo’s offer while she glanced at the card from a chocolate frog Flo was holding. Grimacing back at the wizard displayed there Cleo calmly brushed back a strand of her hair from her face feeling herself as well how cold her fingers actually were. Curling her fingers up into fists Cleo pushed her hands into the pockets of her cloak and tilted her head calmly while looking at Flo. Just as she asked about Kris. Well, she asked about tails, but for Cleo that immediately meant Kris. Then again why should Hufflepuffs know the names of Slytherins, especially the name of one so much older. Recalling their meeting at the tower-top… how ever surprising it had been for Kris to come and comfort him. Yes, it was done in his usual lazily drawling voice but slowly Cleo had learned to read the boy. The slight twitches of lip-corners when he liked something and the muscle moving in his cheek when he clenched his jaws at something he didn’t like. And now that they actually talked to each other calmly – though bickering still played a very big part in their beginning friendship – Kris had became Cleo’s best friend in a matter of days. So she couldn’t hide a smile rising to her cheeks as Cleo shook her head calmly.
“No more tails. I was ordered however to find me a new pair of gloves cause I once again seem to have misplaced my previous pair. I’m looking for white or crème leather with a bit of embroidery on them to match my cloak. And perhaps do some last minute Christmas shopping while I’m at it already,” Cleo reported easily trying to flex her fingers in her pockets before mentally sighing and giving up. Her fingers would be cold up to the point where she bought new gloves. Tilting her head Cleo inquired from Flo glancing at the Honeydukes packages, “Anad you yourself out here for some specific reason or just enjoying sweets?”

Flo grinned and watched a bird fly past. Looking at Cleo again, she noticed that Cleo looked cold. Flo had to admit, it was a bit cold. Well, more than a bit, it was freezing, but Flo hardly noticed. She wasn't really one to complain about the weather. She loved nice warm summer days, and also loved the spring. Thats when she mostly saw butterflies. And the winter, although it got very cold most days, Flo really didn't mind. She loved catching snowflakes on her tounge, and playing in the snow. It didn't really snow in Australia, so when Flo moved, she had seen snow for the first time, and had loved it ever since.
Flo nodded while smiling. "Thats good that you have no more tails, but I'm sure you'll find the pair of gloves your looking for. You might even find the pair that you lost." She then looked at the bags that were next to her and she smiled even more. "Well, I was shopping for Christmas, but i decided to sit down, and try to eat a chocolate frog, but it got away. I might keep the card though. My brother already has two of this one." Flo showed the card to Cleo. "I love Christmas shopping, don't you?!" She asked, still smiling.

“Sure I will. Was there ever a doubt that gloves I like might not exist?” Cleo asked with a slight smirk hovering over her lips even though her eyes laughed back at Flo, letting the younger girl know that she was joking. Sure, Cleo was a bit… well, alright, perhaps a lot… self-centered, but that didn’t mean she didn’t know her own mistakes. Flo however didn’t seem to mind most of them, though she had already seen Cleo in an irritated moot. Not angry, but irritated. Not that there was much difference. Besides the fact that in irritated mood Cleo didn’t throw curses and usually still behaved somewhat politely.
“You’re Christmas shopping? Mind if I join with you for a while? Can’t exactly say I’m Christmas shopping. But I suppose I could get something for Kris as Christmas is coming up soon. I have presents already for Dana and Ryan and Meyghan and to whoever else I’m making presents for,” Cleo started to walk slowly down the street while keeping her pace with Flo all the while making sure not to slip on the street. Ruining a white cloak was not a very charming prospect for the future, so Cleo merely kept a part of her attention on where she stepped, “As for Christmas shopping. I dunno. I’m partial I suppose. I don’t mind looking at different things and spending money – though that is a bother, as I always have to keep a check on how much I am able to spend. But at the same time I buy a present and then most of the time I end up worrying if it’s good enough or if the receiver will like my present. That part I dislike – it’s nerve-wrecking! And that wizard is no good. He made a grimace to me.”

Flo smiled. She knew that Cleo was joking. Cleo seemed to joke alot. Flo didn't mind. She somehow knew when people were joking, even if they looked serious. "They might excist. But they might not." She laughed a little, then stopped. The gloves probably did excist if Cleo knew about them. Unless she was getting them custom made. That would be cool Flo thought. She had always wanted something that had her name embroided on it, along with a couple of butterflies, so then, everyone would know who it belonged to.
Flo tapped her toes on the ground. "Sure you can join me! I was going to get something for my cat, or Tim." Flo stood up and walked with Cleo, watching as Cleo tried not to slip and ruin her cloak. She listened as Cleo told of how she would always check on how much money she had, or would worry if the present was good enough. "I only have a little bit more money to spend, but i doubt my cat really needs a gift. And I always worry if someone will like their gift, so your not the only one." Flo looked at Cleo's cloak again. "Thats a really nice cloak." She commented.

Cleo offered Flo a rather ironic smirk: “Of course. Your brother and cat, your cat and brother – no difference what so ever between them, right? And I know what you mean about presents. Besides – what am I supposed to get for Christmas to a guy who has absolutely everything? And even if he doesn’t have something things that would empty my bank account will be practically like a change for him? How on earth are you supposed to make presents like that?” Cleo shook her head in mock-desperation, but it really was a problem. What didn’t Kris have that he actually wanted? Besides his eye-sight, but that wasn’t really in Cleo’s power to give back to him.
“What are you thinking about getting to your brother anyway? Something practical or something funny or something just… random?” Cleo asked glancing at the shop-window of a store that seemed to sell practically everything. One of the small shops that has tons of things that catch your attention and make you want them so buy them and are happy about them up to the point where you get home and think that you actually don’t need the thing or don’t even know WHAT to do with it. “Lets check inside here, won’t we?” Cleo offered pulling open the door that creaked a bit before a bronze jingle went across the door. Smelling a bit of dust – this in old book-stores and small rooms, always reminded Cleo of mystery – Cleo grinned and stepped in, “Maybe I can find something completely idiotic for Kris here. And perhaps for myself. I always make Christmas presents for myself, don’t you?”

"Well, The only difference about my brother, is that he doesn't cough up fur balls all the time." Flo smiled. She was only joking, but she still found it funny. Flo thought as Cleo wondered what she would get for someone. "Why don't you make something?" Flo said, after a few seconds of thinking. "It would be original, and they would know you had made an effort." As they reached a shop, Flo peered into the glass. There was something about the shop that made Flo want to zombie walk through the door. "Random. Knowing Tim, he'd probably want something random. Or maybe something else, I don't really know. I don't usually listen when he talks about what he wants." Flo told Cleo, as they walked into the shop.
Flo scrunched up her nose as they walked into the shop. Some dust had gone up Flo's nose, and she sneezed. Flo glanced around the shop, seeing the wonderful things that were there, all while trying not to sneeze again. "I don't think I've ever made a Christmas present for myself. I think I might try it though. I would know what I would want, and then have fun while making it. Or shopping for it. Like maybe getting that new pair of gloves could be your Christmas gift." Flo was still looking around the shop. It was really...Flo didn't have a word to describe it. The closest word she could think of was purely wonderful. Wait thats two words Flo thought to herself. Laughing slightly, she kept looking around, seeing if she could find something new that she hadn't already seen in that short time they were there.

Cleo send Flo an appalled look. “Me? Make something? Are we talking about the same person here? I can’t do anything with my hands really. No knitting, no sewing, not even folding something! No-no-no, no making something myself,” Cleo snorted at the idea of sweating over a huge pink thing while Kris was twirling the things other end around himself while shoudting merrily ‘more! more!’ Shaking her head firmly Cleo snorted and shook her head furiously, “I’ll rather float around Hogwarts castle and state my love to Snape while dressed as Cupid before making something myself – and I would blame you for the brutal murder he might inflict on me. Can’t even draw for heaven’s sake!”
“Nope. Gloves are a necessity. Christmas present for yourself has to be something you have wanted for ages or want from the first glance, even though it might be a bit too expensive for you, or if you don’t really have no practical use for it. But you simply must want it, so on one day of the year you are allowed to forget everything else and give yourself the joy of buying that in,” Cleo circled the store slowly making her tours wider every time she finished a circle before something caught her eyes. Diving towards the pile of things form where a glint had caught her eye Cleo carefully and warily to keep the pile form falling on top of her head – removed a glass-ball. Brushing some dust off it gently Cleo admired the small planet-system slowly moving inside the glass ball. You could see a small glowing dot representing the sun and then the planets – the colourful Earth and red Mars, Saturn with it’s circles and the big Jupiter. It was an amazing piece of work with the glass bowl being held by dragon-claws. Calling for Flo’s attention Cleo grinned wickedly while showing her find off to the other girl: “Like this. Completely useful if it weren’t pretty. What do you think of this one?”

As Cleo went on how she couldn't do anything creative-even drawing- Flo was laughing slightly inside. She didn't know why. Cleo sought of reminded Flo of someone. But the thought hadn't actually been well, thought through. It was like that little kid, that had always been there, but you didn't notice. And then suddenly, he there, and you cant get rid of him! But when Cleo started talking about stating her love for Snape, Flo couldn't handle it anymore. She burst out into a fit of giggles.
Flo started to settle down as Cleo continued talking. By the end, Flo was listening. Cleo was right. Why should you wait for that gift you've always wanted? Why not buy it yourself? The two parted as they wandered the shop. Flo looked along the shelves. There were alot of neat, but useless stuff. It was fantastic in Flo's mind. Flo saw something glisten in the light. Flo crouched down to get a closer look. Before she could properly see anything, Flo heard her name being called. Flo walked over to the voice and saw Cleo looking at a glass-ball. As she walked closer, she could see what looked like a little solar system. She was standing next to Cleo, before she could the whole thing. It was a solar System and it was beautiful. Flo looked at the bottom and saw the dragons claws.
"It's very beautiful. Are you going to buy it?" Flo asked as she looked more closely at the ball, as another thing wandered into the back of her mind. She still wanted to know what was on that shelf that was so...sparkely.
((so Sorry about how long it took me to post!!!)

Cleo admired the solar system briefly glancing up and snorting at Flo’s remark. “Kris in blind. Why on earth should he care about a glass ball he can’t see? But I might buy it for myself. It’s one of those purposeless things you simply have to have that we talked about earlier.” Cleo stood and stretched lazily being sure to smoothen her cloak again. Crease on a cloak didn’t look any better than dirt. Especially not on a white cloak. Besides making sure you looked top shape wasn’t that hard at all. It just took a bit of care. Cleo smiled resolutely and nodded at Flo: “Yeah, I’ll buy it.”
Wandering over to the counter Cleo let the glass globe be packed properly as Cleo herself eyed a bronze-like look – and equally heavy – statue of a rearing thestral. It would empty her money pouch, yet the thestral… it would merely be perfect for Kris. “I’ll take the statue as well,” Cleo said to the older witch behind the counter wincing only slightly as she had to depart with most of her money, leaving her only 2 sickles and 3 knuts. Kris had better appreciate the gift!
Carrying the bag with the two wrapped presents – one for Kris, one for herself – Cleo looked around searchingly for Flo. Noticing her finally Cleo made her way over between dozens of piles of mysteriously charming junk Cleo was sure not to look at closer. Had she looked she would have most certainly wanted something more. Bus right now only a couple of coins separated Cleo from complete bankruptcy. “Found anything you like?” Cleo asked coolly as she reached the younger girl once again and peeked over her shoulder to see what Flo was looking at.

Flo looked at all the colours in the glass-ball. It was memorising. But Flo blinked as Cleo commented how Kris was blind, and that he probably wouldn't care about the galss-ball, and that she might buy it for herself. "Well...I didn't actually ask if you were going to buy it for him." Flo told Cleo as they walked up to the counter. As Cleo paid for the ball, Flo wondered what that thing was, that she had seen earlier.
Flo turned back to the ounter and leaned onto it, folding her arms ontop of the glass top. She looked inside and saw pretty jewlery and all sorts of nick-nacks. Flo liked this shop. It was full of random, pretty and also some weird stuff. Cleo had paid for the Glass-ball, but then had found something else, and Flo smiled. What Cleo had just said she'll also take, was beautiful. She knew it was a thestral, but she only knew because of pictures in books. Flo hasn't seen anyone die. If she would have seen someone die, she would probably still be in shock.
Flo was still thinking of the mysterious thing she had seen before. She just wanted to know what it was. If she liked it...or thought that Tim might like it, she might buy it. Leaving Cleo as she paud for the thestral, Flo found the shelf that held the object she was looking for. Again, Flo bent down and looked at what was glistening in the light. It was a golden Griffin, probably too expencive for Flo. Still, she picked it up and looked at the price before she heard Cleo ask her if she found anything she liked. "No...But I think I found somthing for Tim." Checking the price again, she smiled. "And I think i can afford it!" Flo went up to the counter and waited for the Griffin to be wrapped and put in a bag, before turning to Cleo, still smiling. "Shall we go?"
