It was mid fall and the leaves were already falling off the trees. The cool breeze of winter was setting in and most people were getting into the holiday spirit. First it was Halloween one month, soon all the holidays were one after another. Dawn McGrogan was walking around Hogsmeade, warmed to a 'T'. She wore a Emerald green robe, which matched her eyes elegantly. Also, soft cream scarf was wrapped once around her neck. Her Long blonde hair fell over her shoulders comfortably as the wind played with it as if it was a little child.
Dawn was in a good mood. Despire what her expression my denounce her emotions were high. She loved shopping, as well as getting out of Hogwarts. And the fall season was her favorite so, who could stop her? She was planning look for something for her brother. She wanted a simple gift, it wasn't for anything special, just for the fact that since school started, she hasn't seen him around. Maybe twice they saw each other at dinner, but not much more. Looking in some windows Dawn found herself looking into windows. A cold chill flicked her hair and brought her out of her trance. Turning her head, she glanced down the street to a street clock. 'An Hour.' She though. That was all she had left before the last carriage arrived at the gates for Hogwarts students. 'More than enough.' she remarked as she pushed the door open.
Stepping in to the shope the smell of a country cottage filled her nose. Apples and pumpkins was the most destinctive sent. Loosing her way around aisles and aisles she found herself in the 'History of Magic' section. Reading each title she came across one, which the title seemed to be worn off of, from years of use. It was tick, about 2000 pages or more. It was covered in black leather, but worn on the corners, spine, and a little bit torn. it had a buckle which kept the book closed. That leather strap was slightly ripped. Holding it carefully, despite its condition in her arms, she cradled it as she walked towards a seating area. It had two chairs, and a table between. Sitting down on one chair she crossed her legs and un-buckled the book. Opening it, the spine crackled. Relaxing back into her seat, she began to read the first page.

Cleo stomped through the streets of Hogsmeade rather angrily. Well, she didn’t really tromp as stomping looked bad and would spoil her boots. But she felt like stomping. But she most certainly wasn’t happy. She had learned the hard way that you shouldn’t make bets with Slytherins before you checked and let about 101 more people check there wasn’t any way for them to weasler out of the bet so you would be loosing. Who did Kris think she was? A maid? A bloody owl for him? But no matter in how foul mood Cleo was for loosing the bet – here she was now walking through the streets of Hogsmead to the book store.
Entering the store Cleo sniffled grimacing slightly at the scent of pumpkins. Who liked pumpkins? They were round and orange. Well, surely Halloween was coming up so pumpkins were everywhere, but Cleo didn’t even like pumpkin juice or pumpkin-pies. Nothing she could talk about this really, so Cleo just angrily pulled off her beige leather gloves and stuffed them in the pockets of her long beige cloak opening the three bronze clips keeping it closed on the front. Twirling the heavy broze necklace around her neck idly Cleo brushed a hair from her white sweater and moved towards the counter with her high heels clicking on the floor. Catching the shop-assistance attention Cleo asked for the two books Kris had ordered her to bring bag after dropping a bag of galleons into her hands. Cleo smiled more cheerfully than she was feeling and asked for the two books. Only to have her smile disappear a moment later to be replaced with a scowl.
Just because the book had been asked about the two books that costed a small fortune together that didn’t mean they would actually find the books form their stock? Cleo argued, stomped and scowled, but nothing helped. She would have to go between the shelves and find the books herself. Scowling darkly Cleo turned at the shelves and sighed. Sure, she adored books. But this particular book asked for higher prices than she could afford right now. Her grandparents weren’t that keen on books. Old and almost bankrupted idiots as they were. But for now cleo just had to stop herself from drooling at the sight of all these books she would want and find the two books Kris had wanted. „Stupid idiotic Slytherins,“ Cleo grumbled as she moved towards the History of Magic section. She would just have to find the books quickly and be out of the stores just as fast. Meanwhile she could amsue herself while thinking out as many curses she could... and should!... use on Kris.
Rounding the corner rahter sharply Cleo was a bit shocked to see a person sitting there in the halway but her surprise quickly disappeared as Cleo threw her hands up as if giving up while stating her thought out loudly this time: „Is there no end to you Slytherins?“ Cleo frowned at the girl sitting there before sauntering past her to the shelves and starting to skim the books with a frown still firmly settled on her face even when her fingers glided over the books with must more gentel ness. Cleo was a Ravenclaw after all. Loving and caring for books was practically a must for everyone in Ravenclaw.

Dawn shuffled in her seat. She pulled her left leg under herself and sat comfortably. She seemed entralled in her new found book. But the irony of it all was that, it was in a different language. It was farmilar to her, and she could read the basic words but it intriged her to hold a book which seemed so used, and not totally understand it. 'I'll have to buy it and add it to my collection.' she noted to herself as she turned the page and read on. It seemed to start off of as a simple background of magic where it derived from and how muggles reacted to the gifted. It inched into the war then into old magic spells which were banished, as well as some spells which are still used. Dawn closed the book and buckled the belt. She placed the book on the table in front of her. Slipping out her wand, she tapped it once as it levitated into the air. "Lumos." she said as she walked back into the aisle and looked for a new book with the leather back floating next to her.
Using her wand as a guide she looked on the spines of nearly ten more books before she found another. This one was more direct, since it had a title. "Spells of Ancient Greece." Dawn loved to learn. She smiled as she remembered her house. Most of the people in the Slytherin house are dimwitted fools who feel learning isn't important. Dawn hated those students. Learning was everything. Even for students not in Raven household. Slipping the book off the shelf, its soft aqua colored cover layed in her hands. It was a smaller book. About a 7x5 book and about 700 pages. Walking back to the seat she previously sat in, she pointed her wand to the table in front of her. Soon the leather back book landed neatly on top. Dawn leaned back and got comfortable again. And soon she began to read.
"Is there no end to you Slytherins?" Dawn heard a voice exclaim. Looking up from the top of her book, she saw a girl storm in front of her and into an aisle of books. "Excuse me?" Dawn drew out as the girl crossed her. Narrowing her eyes, the emerald green was darkened into a shadow. Closing the book she had in her hands, she placed it softly on the large leather back in front of her. Pocketing her ebony wand she tapped her finger tips on the arm rest, while she waited for an answer from the girl.

Cleo was still wearing a scowl as she traced the spins of books in front of her. Seeing a book she had always wanted Cleo’s handhesitated over it. She wanted so desperately. But she most certainly didn’t have the money to buy it now. Brushing back a strand of her hair Cleo moved forward in search for the book when the words “Excuse me?“ reached her ears. Oh great. The Slytherin was annoyed now as well. So much for getting out of the bookstore quickly, now she had to deal with a snobby snakey as well. Like she hadn’t seen enough Slytherins to last for a life-time already! Especially during this school year.
Cleo let the question hang in the air for a moment as she turned her head to rereat the title of the book she had came too. It had seemed familiar, but on closer inspection wasn’t what Cleo needed unfortunately. Only now did Cleo glance back with arched eye-brows. Looking at the girl with a bit of amusement Cleo nodded slightly. The girl was tapping her fingers on the armrest of the chair she had occupied and Cleo rather absent-mindedly admired her robes. It was good work. Precise and well done, even though Cleo had her doubts about the owner of the roes. But money made most of this world go around anyway. Cleo glanced at the book in front o fhte girl as well. Ancient Greece? Well, Slytherins weren’t babbling idiots at least. You had to know a lot of spells, curses and hexes, not to mention do some planning to bully. So Slytherins couldn’t exactly be idiots. You had to improvise sometimes, but you could only improvise in the range of your own abilities.
„You’re excused,“ Cleo told the girl with a small smirk. She hadn’t really asked exactly what Cleo had meant after all. Turning back to thte book-shelves Cleo tried to calculate how big were the possibilites a hex would be flying at her back in a moment. As hexes could be removed Cleo didn’t pay the thought much more attention and turned to the next shelf to browse the book there.

Waiting for the girl's comment, it came. A smirk appeared on Dawn's face as she listened to the reply. Dawn's eyes flickered as the fire from across the room lit up. Dawn began to think to herself. 'She is merely a young Ravenclaw. She doesn't know what she is doing.' Dawn laughed to herself as she spoke, "Why thank you, dearest. But at least I know when to speak and when to keep my mouth shut." Dawn stood up and walked back to her own aisle, different from the raven.
She wanted to buy one more book from the store. Walking into a different section, she found a book to her liking. 'Potions derived from yuckweek.' Dawn never heard of that specific potion. Opening the new book, she found a few potions which intrigued her. Grinning to her find, she walked back to the other two books she found. Tapping the largest book it levitated again, into the air. Holding her second and thrid book finds in her arms, she walked down the stairs to the register. Setting all three books on the register, A woman behind the counter began to check the books. "You are aware this book is used?" She brought to Dawn's attention about the largest and heaviest book. "Oh yes. Doesn't matter to me." Dawn responded normally as she took out a few coins to pay for her finds. Paying the woman, she began to bag the three books. "Oh, No. Not needed." she said as she took out her wand. Tapping all three, twice on the cover, they all vanished. "Oh, very clever." the woman complimented as she put the bag away. Nodding Dawn replied, "Of course." Grinning, Dawn turned towards the door. Looking up the stairs she noticed the girl who, attempted to be rude to her earlier still in the store. Turning towards the door, she made a comment towards the woman behind the counter. "Have a good day." Dawn was in a good mood, and nothing was going to take her careless mood away from her. Walking out into the cold farmilar breeze, she started on her way down the street to another shop that might catch her eye.

Cleo smirked at the older girl and watched her leave rather thoughtfully. One of the Queens letting go that easily? Cleo had been ready for a hex or two. But then again she was grateful for getting away as easily. Then agian – hadn’t a Slytherin been caught with her wand drawn in Hogsmeade lately? Perhpas the prefect didn’t want to get caught in a similar position. Cleo snickered qquietly at the thought finalyl finding one book Kris had demanded before she fished out the scrap of parchment to see what the other book would be about. She got the history book so now would have to come the potions book. Turning on her heel Cleo stomped back through a few sections and spent a good 4 minutes seraching for the 2nd book. Did he really have to demand for so bloody rare books? But at least Cleo had the books now she thought moodily as she walked to the counter to have them packed. Dropping the packed books into her small black back-pack – magically enchanted naturally, so it didn’t look anymore full than before – Cleo walked out the door throwing a careless bye over her shoulder at the accountant. She wasn’t feeling cheery enough to make small-talk. Especially not so while she was wanting to read the same books she would have to give to Kris when she got back to Hogwarts. Looking at her watch Cleo slowly felt a a smirk stretching across her face. But they hadn’t agreed on a special time when she would get back on Hogwarts. Kris could wait for his books until Cleo felt like going back to the castle! Feeling the leaves crunch rather pleasantly under her heels Cleo sauntered down the street winking at herself at a store-window. Cleo hesitated just one moment before grimacing as she noticed the same blond-haired girl – McGroagan? McGregor? Something with Mc – walking down tthe same street. The hesitation lasted merely a second though before Cleo nodded to herself and continued walking passing the girl without a word as she entered a shop down the street. „Hello,“ Cleo told calmly to the shop-assistant here as she walked to the display of flowers made out of cloth. They looked shockingly life-like. And would be perfect in Cleo’s hair. And she could afford a ccouple of flowers for her hair, even though most of the dresses and tother pieces of clothing would be too expensive for her. Smiling and humming a quiet tune under her breath Cleo crouched and started selecting out the white, red and black blooms she liked at first glance. She would make a much more detailed selection later on. Even so Cleo kept on eye on the shop-window to see where the Slytherin was heading towards. She didn’t want to go in the same-direction. That would make her seem like a lost puppy and Cleo was most certainly not a puppy! ((Sorry, it took so long... but I had to figure out a way how Cleo woulnd’t appear as a lost puppy following Dawn around.))
