Fiona stood in her dormitory she was busy with dressing. It was the perfect weekend to take a trip to Hogsmeade. She was excited. She was planning on checking out Honeydukes and a few bookstores. She was also dying for a Butterbeer. She hadn’t had one in over a month and it was about time she indulged. She stood in front of the mirror in black pants and a blue blouse. She frowned at the reflection and turned back to her wardrobe. She pulled out a pair of jeans and a Slytherin green long sleeve t-shirt. She pulled on the clothes and stepped back in front of the mirror. “Better,” Fiona said to herself with a smile. The dark blue jeans were hip-hugger jeans and the dark green long sleeve t-shirt set off her eyes perfectly. She pulled her mum’s pearl out from under the shirt. She fluffed her long red hair and looked at the end result. She looked good and she knew it. She threw her unwanted outfits on her bed and grabbed her wand.
Fiona stepped out of her dormitory and headed to the common room. It was full of first and second year students who weren’t allowed to go to Hogsmeade yet. She smirked at their fortune. She remembered when she was that young. She wanted to go to Hogsmeade so bad, but she wasn’t allowed to. That didn’t stop her from trying to sneak out. She had gotten detention three times before she finally stopped trying. She turned from the site of the young students and headed out of the dungeons. She walked by Professors who were making sure the students were able to go. Stepping out the doors of Hogwarts she squinted her eyes against the bright sun. The weather was sickeningly beautiful. She wished it hadn’t been. She was fonder of rain and overcast skies as apposed to bright sunny days. Fiona felt the cool breeze touch her face and she smiled. It was just the perfect temperature for her.
Fiona let her eyes adjust to the sun before she continued to Hogsmeade. She walked slowly out of the grounds of Hogwarts and onto the road to Hogsmeade. She could see the town not too far away. There were already crowds of people strolling the streets of Hogsmeade. She entered the town and smiled at the hustle and bustle. Her smile turned to a frown as she noticed some mudbloods she had met last year. She ignored them and continued on her way. She hated the fact that half-breeds and mudbloods were allowed into Hogwarts. She hoped that it would change someday, but at the moment she let that pass. Stepping into The Three Broomsticks she ordered a Butterbeer. Handing Madam Rosmerta several sickles she turned with her bottle of Butterbeer and headed back outside. She wasn’t interested in staying there. It was too crowded and loud. As the door opened she felt it crash into someone and Fiona dropped her Butterbeer. The glass bottle shattered on the ground and splattered its contents all over Fiona. She turned to look at the culprit with her eyes blazing with anger. Whoever had been in her way would pay.

"Thank you, ma'am. I'm pretty sure my mother will love it," Cass bowed herself out of the witches' shop. Her mother had sent her on an errand to fetch a new robe from a tailor's shop. When she had arrived, the witch had not only made the robe, but had also made a nice dress to go underneath. It was very pretty, and Cassandra had complimented the witch on her work. It was beginning to get late, and she knew she would have to get back to the school soon.
After she dropped off the robe at her home, she ran to Catalina's Cubbby to purchase a book she had seen there last week. Since they had gone to the Halloween Ball together, she had been searching for a copy of Alice in Wonderland to give to him. It still shocked her that he had never read the story, but Cassie was about to change all that. She knew it was early in their relationship, but she wanted to share with him the things she loved. The childhood tale of Alice had always intrigued her, and she remembered when her father would tell it to her when she was younger.
Finishing all her errands, she began to head back to the castle when a last minute urge took her over. She didn't think that Liam had gone to the village today, so she decided to bring him an extra treat. After a short stop at Honeydukes, she rushed across the street to Madam Rosmertas for butterbeers. Maybe they could have a late night up in the common room? They could drink butterbeer, eat candy, and she could explain the parts of Alice in Wonderland he didn't quite get. Before Cassie could put her hand on the door handle, the door burst open. Running straight into it, she heard a bottle crash on the other. After regaining her composure, she stuck her head around the door to make sure no one was hurt. " Um, are you okay? Do you need any help?"

"W'at in the wo'ld do ye t'ink ye doin'? Runnin' in te me lik' t'at?" Fiona exclaimed with rage. When ever she got angry her Irish accent came out thicker and sure enough it had done so. She looked at the head that came around the door and recognized it immediately. Her eyes narrowed and her attitude went from bad to worse. It was Cassandra Blackfire. She remembered what had happened last year. She also remembered that she was pureblood, but a dirty pureblood at that. She didn't deserve to be in Hogwarts. The girl was a muggle lover and Fiona hated that. Fiona felt the cold Butterbeer seep into her jeans, pulling out her wand she cleaned herself up. Looking down at the broken bottle and spilled Butterbeer she turned to Madam Rosmerta who had seen the whole thing. "You should clean that up. Customers won't be coming in here if you don't clean it up," Fiona said with venom. She turned her attention back to Cassandra. Without saying a word she walked out of the pub making sure to 'accidentally' run into the door making it swing backward once again.
Fiona shook her head as she stopped outside the door looking at Cassandra. It served Fiona right to go to such a filth inhabited place instead of the Hogshead which was her normal home. The Three Broomsticks had always favored to the lower filth, especially mudbloods. However at the moment, Fiona wasn't sure what was worse. A mudblood or those who were mudblood loving purebloods. Looking Cassandra up and down she continued to glared with her wand held at her side from her last spell. "You better watch where you're going Blackfire. It's not nice to run into people like that, especially ones that are superior," Fiona said. She was definitely trying to bait Cassandra into a fight. However, Fiona wasn't exactly sure if she would bite. She didn't know Cassandra well enough to know if the girl would take offense to anything that she was saying. However, Fiona was sure to try. After all, Cassandra had been in Fiona's way. Fiona looked down on Cassandra. She was shorter and so it made things all the easier. Fiona smirked to herself at the girl waiting to see if the girl would bite back.

Cass was startled by a heavy Irish accent on the other side of the door. Still trying to get to her feet, she was shocked again to find the door flying in her face once again. Putting her hands up to guard her visage, she saw Fiona O'Reilley storm out of the Three Broomsticks. Why do Slytherins have to be so rude, thought Casssandra. Through all the commotion, she swore she heard her scream at Madam Rosmerta.
Getting to her feet, she could hear Fiona shouting at her from the street. Honestly, don't these people have any coothe? Just because they are Slytherins they think they are allowed to act a fool! Cass' thoughts swirled. She did not want to cause any trouble nor did she want her Hogsmeade privilege taken away, but she could not let this go unnoticed.
The door creaked behind her as Rosmerta came to sweep up the glass shards that now decorated the floor. Standing up, she met the girl's fierce gaze. " I apologize, Fiona. I didn't know you were there, " Cass swallowed her pride and gritted her teeth as she spoke. She was apologizing for the fact that she had run into her. That was only courteous, but she would not tolerate the harsh words. " I do believer that you owe Madam Rosmerta an apology for speaking to in her in such a way. That, at the very least, would be mannerly. I'm assuming that your mother did teach you manners. Of course, I could be assuming too much."

((Sorry it took so long. Just got slammed suddenly.))
Fiona's smiled with triumph as Cassandra apologized. She definitely didn't want to make a scene. Of course Cassandra would apologize she was of lesser standing. Sure the girl was a pureblood, but she was also a Gryffindor and that was enough to taint her pureblood. Fiona watched as Cassandra got to her feet. The apology must have been enough to destroy her pride and ego. The girl had way too much of it. Fiona watched with glee as Cassandra tried to keep herself under control. Fiona wondered what she could say to make the girl blow up.
However, Fiona didn't have time to think of anything before Cassandra retorted with something. Fiona looked at Cassandra with daggers. Cassandra wanted her to apologize to Madam Rosmerta. There was no way that she would apologize to her. The woman owned this place and she needed to clean up the messes within it, but that's not what had gotten to Fiona. Cassandra had made a remark about her mother teaching her manners. The girl had no right to talk about her mother. Especially since it had been her mother who had saved her in the end. Fiona didn't think twice as she pulled out her wand. "You have no right to talk, Blackfire. You obviously don't know when someone is better than you. I hope you see your mistake now or would you like me to show you. I don't apologize to lesser beings and I certainly do have manners, more than what you have got, after all, you ran into me. If you ever speak a word about my parent's again, you will regret it," Fiona said. Her teeth were clenched together and she was sure that everything she was saying was hardly heard. She was beyond angry. No one insulted her parent's not when they weren't alive to defend themselves. Fiona held her wand tightly in her hand pointed directly at Cassandra. Everything around had disappeared. She didn't know if anyone was watching or if anyone was even near them. It was lost in a sea of static.

Cass congratulated herself. Apparently she had hit a chord with the Slytherin, and she was glad. Rather calmly, she addressed the girl once again. " Fiona, I don't understand why you think you are better than other people. Oh yes, I'm an orphan and a muggle lover, but that doesn't make you better than me." Cass sighed, tired of this little game. " I've already apologized about running into you, but you do still owe an apology to Madam Rosmerta since she hasn't done anything. Just because someone must serve you, doesn't mean they have to like or be treated horribly by you."
Rosmerta finished sweeping up the glass shards and walked away from the little confrontation. Cass pulled out her wand and held it to her side. " I'm not going to duel you, Fiona. I have better things to do with my time." Cass continued to stand there, not moving. She sure as hell wasn't going to turn her back on a Slytherin pointing a wand at her. " However, I will defend myself if need be."
((Sorry it's not that good. I'm not feeling that well.))

Fiona laughed out loud when Cassandra said something about not understanding why Fiona was better than everyone. "Perhaps I should enlighten you. Born by one of the oldest wizarding families. I am the last of my family. I am the last O'Reilly, that in itself makes me better. I also seem to be a little bit more wealthy than you are. By my simple calculation that means I am better than you. And don't play that whole orphan bit on me. That's not what makes you lesser than me. If it did than I would have to re-calculate since I'm one as well. Or did you not read about that? A question for you, did you watch your parents die? Well I did and that in itself makes me more powerful. Watching death is powerful, you lose all doubt and fear you had before," Fiona said with anger. Her teeth were clenched as she talked. She wanted more than anything to just curse Cassandra, but she was fighting the urge. However it was hardly containable.
Fiona's last nerve was show when Cassandra told her to apologize to Madam Rosmerta. "What do I look like a house elf? I will not apologize and for someone of lesser standing to tell me to do such puts you in greater danger than you realize. Blackfire, you should be the one apologizing to me. Speaking to me like you are on an equal plain with me when you aren't even good enough to sweep the ground I walk on," Fiona said. Her wand was shaking in her hand from the anger that was coursing through her veins. Fiona watched as Cassandra took out her own wand and held it at her side. She said she would defend herself if need be. Fiona lowered her wand to her side. She didn't want to fight. Losing house points was not what she wanted to do or have her Hogsmeade trips revoked, however she wanted to teach Cassandra a lesson. She would most assuredly be caught if they dueled in Hogsmeade...The battle within Fiona continued.
"STUPEFY!" Fiona exclaimed raising her wand quickly. She didn't care at that moment if she got caught. Cassandra had no right to speak to her that way and she was going to make sure she paid. The green sparks shot from Fiona's wand and straight at Cassandra. She couldn't see if it worked, but she waited with a deep breath caught in her lungs. She needed to know if Cassandra was hit. She waited and watched as her world came tumbling down. She had attacked another student and it had been thrilling. She hadn't had this experience in a long time. A smile crossed her face as she waited for the outcome of her curse to be known.

Post by Professor Sandra Tyler on Nov 24, 2005 18:47:17 GMT
((This post is closed. You two can post one more time for your actions but other than it’s officially over.))
Sandra pulled on brown leather gloves over her half-frozen hands as the wind whipped by her. Soon the bearable crisp weather at the beginning of the term will come to end as winter took place. Maybe in matter of weeks, Hogwarts castle will be covered in a blanket of snow. Sandra didn’t like winter, not one last bit, and much rather preferred the seasons of fall and spring. Summer was also too hot, and winter was to cold. Hugging her royal blue robes closer to her body as she entered the village of Hogsmeade. Sandra had her day filled out. She would head over to Catalina's Cubby, a store a former Ravenclaw started, and buy view things.
A half-hour passed and Sandra walked out of the Cubby with two white bags in her hands. One of the bags was filled with reading material such as magazines and books, while the other bag was filled with writing supplies, along with a pound of chocolate. Sandra spent a great deal of her money on the items, but it was a treat for her. But all she wanted to do now was head over toward The Three Broomsticks for a nice mug of warm butterbear, and read in her usual spot in front of the fireplace. Her classroom was too cold to be able to concentrate on your reading.
Making her way down the streets Sandra just smiled warmly at all the people. Hogsmeade was more crowded now since the attack on Diagon Ally. Reaching the pub Sandra stopped in her tracks to see two students arguing about something. She knew them from Ancient Runes; both girls were in their fourth year and different houses. Sandra waited for the students to resolve their problem before taking action. Soon things started to get out of hands and the girls than took out their wands. Running over toward the pub, Sandra pushed all the people crowding around away. Dropping her bags on the ground she took out her wand from her front pocket. "Protego!" Sandra said watching as the Stupefy Spell hit the side of the building. Making her way up to the students Sandra stared at the Slytherin girl who cast the spell. "That will be 30 points from Slytherin for your actions Ms. O’Reilly, I will also want to see you in detention for the next two weeks!" she said before looking more stern and continuing her lecture, “There was no reason to cast such a spell on another student. Well Ms. Blackfire get a move on!”

Fiona watched with horror as her spell was interrupted. She turned and saw with her dismay one of her professors. She would definitely be getting in trouble for this one. That was just great! She didn't need to get Slytherin in trouble, not to mention that they were in third place as it was, but almost in second with house points. Fiona pocketed her wand quickly as Professor Tyler came over. Her mouth dropped when Professor Tyler told her thirty points were being taken away from Slytherin and that she would be having two weeks of detention. It might have been worth it if Fiona had actually hit Blackfire with the curse, but no, it had been interrupted and she had now gotten into trouble.
Fiona turned her back on the scene and started back toward the castle. She pushed through the crowd of on lookers as she climbed the hill toward Hogwarts. She would be getting an earful from Professor Snape and the Prefects, not to mention the other students. She wasn't sure what she would get in more trouble for, losing house points, or not hitting Blackfire with the curse. A smile came to Fiona's lips as she looked back at the crowd, which was dispersing. It wouldn't be long before Blackfire would get what was coming to her. Hopefully, Fiona would be the one to do it. She laughed to herself as she headed into the castle and down to the dungeon. She didn't have time for this right now. She would talk with her friends about what happened. Maybe they could help her out.
