Cass Blackfire loved to shop, but she had never been one to agonize what color of a particular cut of dress she wanted to buy. That was too picky, but here she was, giving the seamstress a heart attack as she made the woman change the color of the dress back from red to blue. " Is this the color you were looking for, Miss Blackfire?" Cass bit her lip, and she finally made up her mind. " I will take the red." The witch looked like she was about to blow her stack, but she obediently changed the dress back to red. Pulling the dress of the dress dummy, she began to pack it up in a box. Absent mindedly, Cass pointed toward a pair of black Mary Janes. " Could you wrap those put too? I need a size eight." The witch nodded in acquiesence.
Leaving the shop, she knew that the would of thrown her out of the shop if Cass hadn't of been spending so much money. However, that is one of the great things about wealthy, you could make the help in shops do whatever you wanted. They would kiss your feet just to get you to flash your galleons. Cass walked down the street to see a group of Hufflepuff's pointing and staring at her. Hell, what's their problem? Cass thought. Of course, she knew it had to be about her. Cass and Pyro Blackfire seemed to be on the top of everyone's gossip list lately.
Walking into a local coffee shop, Cass found a booth in the back and sat down. Ordering a cup of coffee, she pulled out a fantasy book and began to peruse its pages.

This particular Hogsmead weekend came just in time. Somehow, between the end of July when she got her robes lengthen and now, she had managed to grow another inch and a half and needed the hems let out again. She carefully folded her school and quidditch robes into a messenger bag and carried it with her down the streets. She had gone to the seamstress early that morning, and after some time adjusting and measuring, the woman finally told her that if she wanted to leave the bag here, she could pick it up before she headed back to Hogwarts.
With the sad knowledge that now a little more than half of her wizard coins were gone, she proceeded to the Hogsmead coffee shop. Normally when she was in Hogsmead she would prefer to drink butterbeer, but today only muggle hot chocolate was going to make her feel better.
Once inside the shop she ordered her drink at the counter and with out looking dropped her bag onto a near by booth. Once she did she looked over, her eyes growing wide, when she saw that a Gryffindor, she didn't really know, was already there. "I'm sorry...I...ah...I wasn't looking. I'll find another booth."

Cass looked up from her cup as she heard another body slide into the booth across from her. A Hufflepuff, about her age, looked startled to see her sitting there. The girl excused herself quickly, but Cass caught her hand and smiled. " Oh, honey, you don't need to leave. Besides, I was looking for some company anyway. We need to be properly introduced anyway. I'm pretty sure we've met on the Quidditch pitch, but not officially. I'm Cassandra, or Cass for short. Your Nokomis, right?" Cass knew that the girl was probably shocked by her aggressiveness, but she had never been anything else. She always reveled in meeting new people, but others didn't exactly feel the same way.
" So, you are the Hufflepuff Quidditch Captain, right? I can't wait for the season to begin. It feels like it has been forever since our last game. I even got knew Quidditch robes for this season, but I've only gotten to show them off at practice." Cass took another sip of her drink. " So, what's your favorite Quidditch team? I do hope the Irish make it to the World Cup this year, and have you seen the Holyhead Harpies? Goodness, the last game was a shame."

It took her a moment to think of something to say back to the girl, who introduced herself as Cassandra. She never was good at making friends, or talking to someone she didn't know. Nothing she said ever seemed to come out right, and it wasn't until Cass asked if her name was Nokomis that she thought of anything to say. "Yeah, I'm Nokomis. Sometimes people call me Noko though." She tried to smile, the most friendly one she could manage, even though she was simply struggling just to stay focused ont he conversation and not let her nerves get the better of her. Thankfully though, Cass let the conversation drift to quidditch, and that was something she could always talk about. "Yeah, I'm the captain...and I play chaser. And I of course thing the Irish are going to the world up again. They are my favorite team. I would love to see them play. There chasers have to be amazing...."

Cass nodded. " I love the Irish team, but I've heard the American team is really picking up this year. Apparently, they have got some awesome seeker that out raced the Venezuelans a couple of weeks ago." Cass took a sip of her drink. " I knew I recognized you. I've been playing on the Gryffindor team as a beater for about a year now. I helped Jordan to the hospital wing after I broke her wrist with a bat. I felt so guilty about that." She grimaced at the memory. " Of course, we became very good friends after that. We like gossiped the entire time we were waiting for Pomfrey."
Turning the conversation back to Quidditch, " I heard the World Cup this year is going to be in France. I don't particularly fancy going to France, but I think it would be better than most places. Of course, I've heard France is a dirty city. God, where would they put everybody there?" Cass started giggling uncontrollably. " I could so see a Quidditch stadium perched on top of the Eiffel Tower!"

She nodded at Cassandra's comments on the Irish team and also when she talked about the American team. She read in one of her magazines about the American seeker, and how he was suppose to have a Firebolt that had been specialty altered just for him and nothing could fly faster now.
"Do you think the American team will make it to the Quidditch World Cup this year?" She had never been able to go to one of the world cups before, but she could imagine how exciting they would be. "More importantly, do you think that the Irish will make against this year? I know they had one bad match a few weeks ago against one of the African teams." It was then that a woman came by and set her hot chocolate order on the table and she smiled and reached over for the cup before looking back at Cassandra.
