Katrina looked around the shop, staring at many pieces of glamorous jewelery. Every piece more dazzling than the last. Diamonds, crystals, emeralds, rubies, opals and even sapphires gleaming at her making her eyes twinkle. Everything in the shop was so amazing however, as Katrina had assumed, was also expensive.
She had tried on many rings, bracelets, necklaces and even a gorgeous tiara which had any stone you could think of engraved on it. She felt like a princess walking through her wardrobe. The sales person had been ever so kind, graceful and polite. He had complimented her on everything she wore and was intelligent enough to know that she could not afford any of it.
The shop was considerably empty and Katrina was hoping that someone she knew would come in and talk to her. The sales man was now talking respectively to an older woman who seemed to be wearing everything in the shop and also buying it!
She looked around again, she was lonely but the place couldn't make her smile with glee. She gazed again into the mirror to admire the necklace she was placing to her neck.

Maryn had decided to venture into Hogsmead and she didn't see anyone she knew around. Maryn went into various stores, but not one face was familiar. Maryn frowned in disappointment because she was in the mood for someone to hang out with. She finally gave up the idea and went into a nearby jewelry shop. Maryn looked around the glamorous room. The jewels sparkled in their cases and Maryn was certain she couldn't afford any of them. That didn't matter to her, because Maryn wasn't in to fancy jewelry. She was for a funky kind of person.
Maryn then noticed Katrina in the back looking at herself in the mirror. Maryn gave a small smile as she approached her. "Hey, Katrina." She said. Maryn didn't know her all to well, but she wished she could get to know her. "That's pretty." She smiled at the piece. "So, what brings you here?" Maryn asked.

Katrina admired the piece of jewelery and was surprised to hear a voice. It was Mayrn, looking very cheerful as always. She smiled at her and asked her what was up? Katrina wanted to tell her something interesting but she could handle was: "Nothing really."
Katrina looked from the piece of jewelery to Mayrn and noticing she was holding it still to her chest, she put it back in it's place. "How are you?" she asked, putting her hand in her pocket casually.
Katrina looked outside where a little cafe was standing was opposite. After Mayrn answered you nodded to the place. "Do you want to go to that cafe? It looks nice and I haven't eaten all today," she lied.
As they both walked over, she started to tell her about herself a little better. She wanted them to be friends as she was having a little problems with accepting people. She wanted that to stop as she wanted to be happy.

"I'm doin great." Maryn smiled as she answered. It was true. Maryn had been doing very nicely after she talked to Alarice. "Well, I've been doing well at classes at least." She joked. The year before, Maryn had some struggles with the classwork and she didn't have any problems. it was funny because at that moment she had tons of problems and she still did good at the work. Maryn chuckled a little to herself.
Katrina asked if she wanted to go to the cafe. "Sure." Maryn smiled as she followed her. She was glad to hang out with Katrina because she hadn't much before. Maryn was always up for new friends even though she had many. When they arrived, Maryn took a seat at a table near a window so she could see out. "So, what have you been up to lately? Any new guys? I know my friend Elisabeth has been swamped with her boyfriend." Maryn said jokingly.

Katrina laughed with Maryn and when the waiter asked what she wanted she waited for a while but settled with a lemonade.
She looked around Hogsmeade and noticed that it was a very cheerful place. Children were running and looking into loads of sweets and joke shops. Parents were chasing after them but still were just as excited with the shops. Slytherins argued with Gryffindors over places to sit and many aurors looked around the place suspiciously. Katrina found the place a very interesting place to just look at.
She looked back at Maryn who was sipping at her drink. "So, what lessons do you prefer?" she asked politely, she wanted to know if they had anything in common.

Maryn didn't think at all for Katrina's question. She already knew which subjects she loved. "Charms." She said suddenly. "I like Defense Against the Dark Arts too, but I love charms." She explained. She laughed for a second. Maryn's father was in Ravenclaw and had taught her everthing he knew. He had even started teaching her nonverbal spells. He so wished for her to be in Ravenclaw because he knew she had great potential. Maryn was always on top of her study work. She had a schedule of times where she would study and others where she would have fun with her friends.
Maryn took a sip of her drink. "So, how about you? What is your favorite subject and favorite teacher?" She asked. Maryn wanted to know a bit about Katrina. Getting to know someone was the first step in becoming friend. Maryn wished she and Katrina could become friends, but of course they would have to know each other first.

Katrina had never really thought about which were your favourite teachers or lessons. She looked at the sky for a little inspiration and finally came to her answer. "I guess Herbology and I love Professor Sprout but Professor Flitwick is really freindly."
She nodded her head as she thought she had answered the question well, like Mayrn was a teacher.
"So," she said jokingly, "what teachers and lessons don't you like?!"
