Claira felt her excitement bubble as she looked out the train window. Her mother sat next to her, gripping a purse tightly in one hand. Since Claira had found out she was a witch all she wanted to do was venture through Diagon Alley or see Hogwarts itself or even go to Hogsmead. Now, she wasn't aloud to see Hogwarts until September so here she was on the train to see Hogsmead. Her brown hair was up in a 'half pony tail', the straight brown strands falling about her shoulders in a silky curtain. She wore a regular green t-shirt and a pair of blue denim jeans. Samantha wore her normal white t-shirt, blue vest, and a pair of jeans. Claira's excitement doubled as the train stopped and she ran off, her blue bag hitting her leg.
Afternoon air greeted her as she stepped off the train steps. Her mother caught up to her and sighed, grabbing Claira's shoulder. Claira gripped the strap to her bag and smiled, wanting to whoop with joy. She ran down toward the small buildings, her mother following not long behind, and smiled as she looked into the windows. She definatly wanted to check out Zonkos... but another place caught her eye. It was small building, Claira decided to go there first. She waved her to her mother and started for the small building.
A sign above the door said Catalina's Cubby. She smiled and entered, peering about at the candy and the Quidditch Merchandise. Her mother joined her and they sat down at the cafe. Samantha looked through the menu and order Claira a slice of strawberry cheesecake and odered herself a slice of choclate cream pie. Claira ran over to a Quidditch stand and bought a Quidditch magazine. She sat down with her new magazine and waited for her slice of cheesecake. Her mother mentioned how nice the little place was.

Ginny was sitting at the kitchen table with books beside her and a scroll of paper in front of her. She never really liked homework over the Holiday but wanted to get it done before the school year. Opening up a slightly dusty worn out book Ginny began to read tapping the quill on the table lightly. Professor Snape had given each soon to be sixth years a huge homework assignment. It was a whole lot more than any other class. She had to write a four page parchment on how to make an Aging potion and the effects it has on its drinker. Ginny never really was good at potions. As a matter of fact Snape scared her a little. His greasy dark hair and black eyes. The ring of his voice and his hatred toward Gryffindors. But she seemed to make it through the lessons in one piece and sometimes with a detention for her potion not being on the exact standards of Professor Snapes.
She had only gotten so far when a loud BANG was coming from outside. Fred and George were outside setting off fireworks or working on a new invention "Great...I have to sit hear and listen to this while trying to finish this up." Ginny mumbled under her breath. Another loud BANG filled the air what seemed like the hundredth time. Ginny's face scrunch up in frustration and annoyance. "COULD YOU KEEP IT DOWN! I'M TRYING TO FINISH MY SUMMER HOMEWORK!" she yelled out the door toward the twins. They couldn't hear her and another loud noise filled the air. Sighing Ginny looked around the house for her mother. "MUM! Tell Fred and George to stop it!" Ginny yelled her brown eyes flickered with irritation. No one answered. Sighing Ginny walked back toward the table piling her books, parchment, quills, and ink into a bag.
Once Ginny had everything settled she wrote a little note to her mother about going off to Catalina Cubby to work on her summer homework. A former student by the name of Catalina Calaves opened up a store in Hogsmeade that sold a lot of things. Ginny had seen it on her last trip there with Dana and Ron. Would it hurt if she went to a store with tons of people around and come back until she was done? Well Ginny had no other option and walked over toward the fire place throwing the powder on the ground shouting "Catalina's Cubby!" as clearly as possible and was sent off spinning at fast speeds and finally reached the fireplace of the shop.
Catalina Cubby had a comfortable and safe feeling. There were many kinds of things on selves all around her. But all she wanted at the moment was a nice cup of hot chocolate and maybe a sandwich. Walking up to the counter she saw a girl with who seemed to look like she had graduated. "Could I have a hot chocolate and a ham sandwich please." she asked taking out some money and handing it to the girl finding a place to sit. Setting her bag on the flour, Ginny took out her potions book and parchment and began to read over it waiting for her food to come.

Claira looked up as someone suddenly appeared in the fireplace. It startled both her and her mother, who jumped and looked around. A girl with flaming red hair stepped out of the fireplace as if it were just as normal as walking across the street. Claira tried hard not to let her mouth fall in her surprise. She turned to look straight at her mother, who looked just as shocked.
"Wow..." Samantha said. Claira knew, now, that every wizard thought her a Muggle Born and they could probobly tell just by glancing once at her mother that she were a Muggle. Claira started to see the differences herself, now. She felt a bit strange, being on the outside. Not a witch, exactly, but not a Muggle either. She could watch both sides and not be completely dedicated to one. Maybe in a year or two after she started to learn at Hogwarts, she will see things differently, but right now... she was on the 'outside-lookin'-in'.
Claira continued to watch the girl, yearning to know her. That girl was a witch... was all Claira could think of. She was so awer struck by the whole magical world that any person she saw made her wonder if they were magical or not. She almost asked some people, but didn't want to jeperdize the magical world. Claira wanted to to take everything about her new heritage seriously. To have secrets, to think of the whole thing as hers, but she knew it could not be so. It was the same world, just different. They were not just witches or wizards. They were people, but Claira could not seem to grasp that yet. She only saw them as witches and wizards who may be like her.
She turned to her mother and told her that she would be right back. Then she stood, grabbed her new magazine, which confused her beyond anything else she had ever read, and walked over to the girl with the red hair who sat doing her homework. Claira's heart pounded. Why was she nervous? This was Claira! The bubbly, excited 10 year old! But something about the girl was so... grown up... she knew more than Claira, by far. Claira reached the girl and couldn't help but smile.
"Uh... hi!" Claira said in her childish voice that rang out in the quiet store/cafe, "Would you do me a favor?" she asked, the volume of her voice lowering to a normal tone, "I'm a first year..." she had practiced this so often, reading and rereading the letter Dumbledore had sent her and her family, "... and I really don't understand anything in this magazine. Will you sort of... explain it?" She stood there holding out the Quidditch magazine, her eyes asking even after she asked the question.

Ginny's quill made scratching sounds as she continued to write looking up from time to time to read a paragraph or two. One of the cafe servers bought her food and Ginny smiled her mood lighting a bit. It was just nice just to get out of the Borrow and be alone for a while. Taking a bite of her ham sandwich Ginny picked up the glass of hot chocolate and blew lightly to cool it down a bit. Tucking a strand of red hair behind her ear Ginny took a sip but yelped as she burned her tongue. Setting the mug back down on the table, Ginny turned back toward her essay sighing as she still had one more page to fill up. "Does he seriously think that we could write that much on such little information!" Ginny mumbled taking another bite of her sandwich bringing the book up eye level.
Ginny was almost through with her essay as a younger girl spoke. Her voice rang through the Cubby making some people stare. Raising and eyebrow Ginny set her quill down as she asked if she could explain things in the magazine and was a first year. Ginny could tell the girl was muggleborn or half-blood who wasn't raised in the wizarding world. "Er....Sure," Ginny said picking up her books from the chair next to her, "Have a seat Claira and tell me what seems to be confusing you. Oh by the way I'm Ginny Weasley." Ginny greeted with a smile before taking a sip of her hot chocolate.

Claira felt so relieved when the girl agreed. Claira did not feel like going to Hogwarts and not knowing anything about the Wizarding World. She sat down across from the girl and smiled, greatfully. When she said her name was Ginny, Claira smiled, nodded and introduced herself.
"Uh... Claira Stone," she smiled and then looked at the magazine cover. The images moved and that just confued her more.
"Well... everything confuses me, acually. The game... I don't understand how you play it and I don't understand why the pictures move," She shrugged and looked back at Ginny's face.

Ginny watched the younger girl take a seat seeming quite reveled that Ginny hadn't brushed her off. Smiling kindly Ginny took another sip of her hot chocolate and pulled back quickly as it was still steaming hot. Blowing on it a little Ginny set the mug back down on the table turning her head as she said she was quite confused on everything. "Well the game is quite simple when you get the hang of it. Quidditch is an rather..Adiciting sport. Anybody can get quite obsessed." Ginny began scooting her chair closer to the girl opening the magizne up, "See there are four positions in the sport of Quidditch. Seeker, Chaser, Beater, and Keepers. I personally love to play Chaser but Seeker isn't really bad either. The seeker is the most important position on the team. They are the ones who have to find the snitch and end the match. Once they caught it the team gets 150 points. But Chasers are also important. They have to take this red quaffle and pass it around trying to score on the other teams hoops. Beaters use those bats to deflect or hit buldgers at other team. Then finally there is the keeper. The Keeper defends the hoop from the quaffle trying to get in from the other team." Ginny began flipping through the pages pointing out the things she mentioned.
Once Ginny was finished explaining about the game of Quidditch she took Claira's hand and yanked her lightly out of the chair toward a section where there were many things on Quidditch. "Tell me Claira do you know anything about the houses at Hogwarts? Or if you want to play Quidditch or not?" Ginny asked picking up a Quidditch girl figure examining it closely waiting for the girls answer.

Claira's brownish green eyes widened with awe as Ginny explain the game. She was mezmerized at the thought of playing a game in the air while flying on broomsticks. She had this smile on her face the whole time, looking down at the magazine whenever Ginny flipped to a page in the magazine. She couldn't speak as Ginny explained the game. She didn't even make a noise when Ginny yanked her out of the chair and took her over to the Quidditch mechandise display.
"Errr..." Claira said to Ginny's question. She thought for a moment, thinking back to the letter Dumbledore had sent her, "Well... I know that the four houses have students that... are sorted by personality traits that describe them... Like, Gryffindors are brave, uhhh Sly-Slytherins are.. mean? No that's what Liam said, their sly. And I can't remember the others... My momma said I would fit in the smart one... Ravenclaw? Yeah, Ravenclaw." She smiled, "Quidditch sounds really fun and I think I might try out next year,"
