It was the first weekend back from winter holidays, and Padme wasn't exactly feeling thrilled. The whole "back to school thing" wasn't very exciting, and seeing everyone else just made her feel aggravated. Escaping to Hogsmeade had sounded like a good idea, but now that Padme was here, it seemed too simple. Everyone around here just walked past, not even sparing Padme a second glance. Okay, so she was a first year Slytherin who had attitude, but she deserved something more then ignorance! If the day could match Padme's mood, a lightening storm would be taking place, but instead it was one of the warmest days in January yet. It only made Padme feel like a rain cloud, and as she stalked around the village, her spirits sank lower.
Some say a sour apple can't change into a sweet one. It was a good saying as it it as true as true can get. And Padme - in this case - was the sour apple. She wasn't going to change any time soon - in fact, she was merely rotting on the counter, waiting for someone to take her home. It was a sad way to think of herself, honestly, but she couldn't explain her actions any other way. With Jack getting older and having problems at home, Padme felt like she was extremely left out and forgotten. She couldn't tell Jack about Tessa either, since that would only make him even more excited about nothing. And surely he would go running to Mack, who would pry into other people's business. Again. Padme scowled darkly as she moved through the small crowd gathering at Zonko's. Anyway, Jack wouldn't want to listen to her. For all that Padme knew - he frankly didn't care.
That store that just recently opened - Celina's Cubby or something - sounded interesting. Padme had never ventured inside, thinking of it as a mudblood hang-out, but now that Hogsmeade wasn't exactly fun anymore, a new place would be welcomed. Padme heard it had good merchandise, and a few other things that she didn't care to remember about it. The source of the information hadn't exactly been reliable, but still, her interest was caught. With a slow, sauntering walk, Padme moved toward it, brushing back a strand of hair. When she entered, she wasn't surprised to find it bustling with people who could have been anywhere; touching things and commenting on the food, eating it in public.... Padme wrinkled her nose at the sights and smells filling the air, walking arrogantly to the table closest to the windows. With a sigh, she sat down heavily in the seat, letting her shoulder back drop to the floor with a thud. Sometimes, even purebloods had to show their feelings, and right now, Padme just wanted to be somewhere else entirely. Only that was impossible, and no matter how hard she imagined being back at her dorm, she remained firmly seated in the chair in this blasted cubby. Opening her eyes to prove it, Padme sat higher in her seat and stared glumly at the menu, not really taking in a word of it.
