Clothes cluttered every inch of her bed and surroundings. An exasperated sigh came from the young girl who stood in front of the mirror, judging her reflection harshly. She shook her head, throwing the dress on the floor and grabbing another. She gave a frustated yell and went digging inside her trunk. Her head disappeared as her left leg kicked out, clothes flying over her shoulders and cluttering the rest of her protion of the dormatory.
Suddenly a cry of triumph erupted from inside the trunk as Alexandra reemurged, holding a soft dark green mini-skirt and white tank top. Changing into her newly created outfit, she turned and studied her reflection. A small smile appeared on her face as she grabbed a light black sweatshirt. She slipped on a pair of sandals and grabbed her wand. After thinking for a moment, Alexandra waved the wand and soon her shoulder length brown hair was up in a ponytail. Better to go with simple, she decided, it's only a first date...
Taking a deep breath and glancing at the mess she knew she would have to clean up... when she got back... Alexandra took a nice long deep breath and grabbed her purse. Checking her make-up one last time in the mirror and escaped through the dormatory door. The moment she entered the common room, all she wanted to do was disappear back into her dorm room. Her heart pounded with nerves. Her first date! It was exciting and making her nervous at the same time...
She took another deep breath and sat down. Good thing they decided on Lunch and not dinner. Lunch was more casual... less formal. Alexandra didn't do well with formal things. It seemed stupid and always made her more nervous. Alexandra sat down on the couch inside the common room, trying to calm her nerves. Pyro said he'd meet her in the common room... she took a shaky breath. She can do this!... right?

Pyro sat on the edge of his bed. What was going on with him? His dreams had been getting worse of late. They had been a minor inconvenience at first after the attack on Hogwarts the previous year, but eventually the dreams had faded and Pyro had basically forgotten them. But as of late they had drifted back into his sleep, and they were getting worse and worse with each passing night. Could this somehow be tied to his new relationship with Alex? He shook that thought away, how could his relationship possibly be the cause of this. Alex had noticed his mind was wondering of late and Pyro had mentioned the dreams to her at her questioning, but he had told her not to worry to much about them. He told her the story of how he and others had been attacked in the lounge last year and told her about the dreams. How the Death Eaters from that attack floated out of the darkness and circled him, taunting him, laughing at him....haunting him.
With a sigh he stood, today wasn't a day for being distracted. It was his and Alex's first Official date. Pyro didn't want to be distracted by his minor problems today. He checked the mirror to make sure that he looked ok. He had totally redone his braid so that it looked smoother and cleaner now than it did at first. He wore his customary boots and a pair of black jeans and a black dress shirt. He had never been the best dressers or judge of dress. Hoping that Alex would like it he made his way down to the common room, the designated place where he was to meet Alex.
He descended the steps and found Alex already down in the room waiting for him. He smiled at the site of her and paused for a moment to admire her choice of clothes. He hopped the last few steps and landed on the floor and moved besides her. He flashed a disarming smile. "I always thought it was suppose to be the guy that always has to wait for the girl arrive." he winked at her. "Ready to go?" He held his arm out to her and allowed her to slip her arm through his.
Pyro lead her out of the common room and through the castles many hallways and stairs and finally reached the front gates. There was a contingent of carriages waiting to pick up students for a trip to Hogsmeade. A quick search of the carriages was all it took to find an empty one. Pyro undid his arm from Alex's and took her hand and helped her the carriage steps and than climbed up behind her. They only had to wait for a few minutes before the carriage started moving. Pyro looked at Alex, it had been a couple of days since he had seen her. "How are you today? Anything new?"

Alexandra bit her lip in waiting, trying to decide whether or not to put on more lip gloss. Waiting really was not what she did best. Her legs seemed to act on their own, crossing and un crossing, jumping up and down, crossing her ankles. Adjusting her skirt one last time, she giggled when Pyro slid in next to her and made a comment about boys waiting for girls. She shrugged, smiling at him. She hadn't seen him a few days and seeing his face smiling at her, seemed to make her day. There was something about him that made her just... happy! He winked and she smiled wider. Asking if she was ready to go and offering his arm to her, Alexandra nodded and slid her arm in his.
As they walked through the many hallways and ascended the stairs toward the front doors, Alexandra's thoughts were of Pyro. She was worried about him, even though he said not to be. He seemed distant, and yet not... He was definatly troubled. He must still be having those dreams, she thought. She somehow knew they were getting worse, if they were getting better, he wouldn't seem so distracted. She bit her lip looking at the side of his face and shook her head. This was their first date and she shouldn't be so worried...
They left the castle and toward the row of carriages, waiting to go to Hogsmead. Pyro took her hand and led her toward an empty carriage. She smiled at him when he helped her inside and climbed in himself. Not long afterward, the carriages jolted to a start. Alexandra was pleasantly silent as they rode for a few minutes. Pyro broke the silence with a off-hand sort of concern of how her day has been.
She thought for a moment, as she always did. "Umm," she wondered aloud and then smiled slightly, "Not really. Just a normal Saturday," She left out the part about searching for something to wear. At the thought, she adjusted her skirt again. Looking at him with her eyes sparkling, she wondered if he had been having more nightmares.
"How about you? How was your night?" A bump in the road rattled the carriage as Alexandra waited for Pyro's answer.

Pyro smiled, he and Alex were getting better at conversing. Their first few conversation and been quiet and awkward, but it seemed they were getting more comfortable around each other. He leaned back and considered her question. "Well, it was alright." for the part I spent sleeping. he wanted to add but wisely didn't. "I actually slept through the entire night." He lied right through his teeth on that one, but than again, this wasn't the time to delve to deep into his problems.
Before Pyro had even registered the time change the carriage bumped to a stop and he realized that they had arrived in Hogsmeade already. Pyro popped the door open and stepped outside, holding his hand out for her again. They had agreed to go to the cubby for lunch, Pyro had never been to the place but he knew where it was, so once again he lead the way, this time weaving through the busy streets of Hogsmeade.
They reached the Cubby and Pyro opened the door and lead the way inside, quickly finding a booth to sit in. He looked at Alex. "Have you ever eaten here before?"

Alexandra listened to Pyro's answer and resisted the urge to argue. He was lieing. She didn't know how she knew that, but somehow she knew and she understood why he did lie. It was a date... and this certain date should remain without worry or arguments, because if Alexandra did say something, they, being Slytherins, would have probably starting arguing. Alexandra pushed the thoughts from her mind and smiled, nodding her understanding.
It didn't take long until the carriage bumped to a stop. Pyro excited the carriage and extended his hand to help her down, as he did when they entered the carriage. She smiled her thank you and marveled how her skin tingled when Pyro didn't let go of her hand. The new sensation of something as small as holding someone hand still made Alexandra's mind reel. His hand holding hers, Pyro led the way through the always crowded streets of Hogsmead.
It had been her idea to go to the Cubby for their date. The last time she had been there, it was rather boring. Mainly, because she wanted to test whether or not it would be better with someone she really liked.
They entered the Cubby and Pyro led them to a comfortable booth near the corner. Alexandra sat down, enjoying the place for the first time. Pyro then looked at her and asked her if she had been in the Cubby before. Alexandra shrugged.
"Yes. It was boring." Alexandra realized she was going back to her 'say as little as possible' habit. She smiled, "I mean... I was alone, so it wasn't that great."

Pyro breathed a bit easier when Alex didn't pursue the issue. This was their first 'official' date. No sense in spoiling the mood by talking about old ghosts in the closet. They sat down and it wasn't long until an employee was there and had handed them menus. Pyro glanced at his but listened to Alex's answer before picking it up. He couldn't help but chuckle a bit. "Well, I hope that this time it will be an enjoyable experience." He said glancing at Alex over the top of the menu. Pyro quickly scanned the menu and spotted something that sounded good. He placed the menu down, mentally noting the item he was going to order in case the waiter came back again.
Pyro looked to Alex and noticed that she was also reading the menu. Pyro was at just the perfect angle so that he could see her face perfectly. It was many moment later before he noticed that he was staring, completely awestruck, at her. He blinked and looked away, embarrassed slightly. He couldn't help but smile, these kinds of thoughts would never have entered his mind back in the old days. This feelings were a new thing to Pyro, new and confusing. He hadn't quite been able to figure them out yet. He liked Alex, he liked her a lot. Every moment spent with her made him feel light, and happy. Day by day she grew more beautifully to him. What could this feeling be? Could it be love? It couldn't be, it was much to early to feel love, or was it?
Pyro glanced back at her face, which seemed all the more beautifully since she was looking away from. He felt like he could, and would, do anything for her. To protect her, to make her happy. Could he have fallen in love with someone? Or was he in the process? Pyro didn't know, he only knew one thing. He wanted to be with Alex, he wanted her by his side, from this moment on, and he didn't want her to ever leave. In this brief moment Pyro felt like he needed to say something to her. To express how he felt about her, she had to know. Pyro opened his mouth........and a tiny squeak escaped his throat. Pyro's mouth snapped shut and he gulped, a look of sincere confusion spread across his face, it seemed as if his voice box had deceived him and stolen his voice.

She giggled at his comment, but didn't say anything. Her hand took up the menu and her eyes slowly skimmed the food. She bit her lip, wondering what she should eat. Too many choices. A sigh escaped her lips as she flipped a page. Goodness, she thought, how much food do they have!? She shook her head mentally at her innocent sounding thoughts. With boredom overcoming her as she debated which food to order, she leaned her head on her arm and chewed the inside of her check, pondering the menu. Finally, she decided on a meal and looked up. Pyro was staring at her, his face blank.
She stared back, a slight smile on her lips. That was when he squeaked. She was confused for a moment. Did he just...squeak? Sure enough he had squeaked. She giggled again. It was so cute. She smiled, thinking he was only being funny for her entertainment. She glanced back down at the menu and set it aside, leaning over just slightly, resting her elbows on the table and her head on her hands. She looked at Pyro with big eyes. That was all she wanted to do all day. Stare into his eyes. She loved how his hair would sometimes fall into his face, ever so slightly, so that only one small lock of hair would fall across his eye.
Everything about him, she loved. The way he laughs when he thinks he shouldn't, the way he smiles, the way he stares so deep in her eyes that she feels like he can see her soul. She even loves the way he tries to hide things, but it doesn't usually work. Why it doesn't work, Alexandra would never know... Was she in love? Was he thinking the same things she was? A small sigh escaped her lips and she smiled again, leaning back in her chair. She definatly couldn't tell him she thought she loved him... it would be too awkward. She ran her fingers through her hair and tilted her head, smiling at him once again.

Pyro couldn't help but frown at himself. Did you just squeak? What the heck was that? He berated himself silently. Pyro opened his mouth to try and speak again but this time he was interrupted by the waiter returning to see if they were ready. Pyro glanced over at Alex, she seemed ready to order. Pyro gave the waiter his order and than sat back and waited patiently as Alex ordered her food. The waiter gave a curt bow and than left, Pyro watched him go for a moment and than turned back to Alex and returned her smile. Pyro folded his arms in front of him on top of the table and sighed slightly.
That old feeling started to come back. Now that his moment of surprise and distraction was over the same old feeling started to creep back into him. Could he be in love? It was something Pyro had never thought of in the past. He would have scoffed at the mere mention of love, probably would have punched anyone who made the claim that he was falling in love. Yet here it was, an unmistakable feeling tearing at his inside.
Pyro glanced up at Alex and cleared his throat. This time there wouldn't be any squeak. "Do... Do you think we are too young to feel love?" He asked rather bluntly and unexpectedly.

Her smile was soft, sweet, yet mysterious. Her eyes twinkled with adoration as her mind complimented everything about the boy in front of her. She was losing sense of reality, her focus only on one thing. Everything around them dulled and blurred. Their eyes drunk in one another, knowing nothing else. Alexandra perked up a bit as Pyro opened his mouth to speak. She nodded, wondering what was on his mind, but just as he was about to speak, the waiter arrived to take their orders. Alexandra glanced at the menu while Pyro ordered his lunch. She bit her lip and as the waiter turned to her. She looked up from the menu and told the boy what she wanted. The waiter took their menus and bowed, disappearing from their side. Alexandra sighed, picking up her glass of water.
That's when he spoke.
She paused, looking at him over the rim of the glass. She sat there only a moment, but the feeling of the cold glass against her lip felt like forever. She blinked, slowly lowering the glass from her mouth and debated whether or not he had asked what she thought he did. He must have. Why else would he look so anxious as she pondered his question?
"uh," was all she could say. Well... what could she say? Did this mean he loved her? Her heart leapt up into her throat with sudden joy and her stomach clenched with hope. She smiled through her confusion. Her voice still failed her even as she tried to speak for the second time.
"I...I...uh..." she bit her lip. He must think I'm an idiot, she thought, I can't even answer a simple question! But was it that simple? A thousand hidden meanings could be stuck within that one question. She shook her head quickly, trying to think and clear her mind, and cleared her throat. Finally, she could think somewhat clearly and smiled, looking at him.
"Um..." her heart's furious beating echoed through her head, making her nervous, "No... We're not," she took a deep breath,"we're not too young to love. I mean, if I can be on the streets and deserted by everyone I know... I think it's safe to say I can love."
She tensed. Did it sound as if she were implying that she loved him? It was only their first date, after all, and even though the thought had crossed her mind during the past few days, was it too soon to start thinking love? So many questions... it almost hurt her to think about it all at once, but the girly hope that maybe Pyro did love her still stuck to the back of her mind, forever reminding her that she did care about him so much that she wanted him to love her...
But did she love him?
