Lydia pushed the door of the store open and inhaled the fragrant air. Smelling cakes, chocolates, and even a hint of pungent incense, Lydia let herself wonder to the small cafe. After ordering a double shot of expresso, she sat down and began to read The Daily Prophet that laid nearby. Lydia had heard of the shop before she left Hogwarts even though it was not open yet. Catalina, the Head Girl, had been speaking of opening a shop like this for months in Hogsmeade, and finally the dream was fulfilled. Even though the shop seemed to be doing very well, what with its steady stream of customers, Lydia was yet to be impressed. She had only seen one employee the entire she had been here, and most of the merchandise seemed a bit dodgy. However, they did make a an excellent expresso.
Relaxing a bit, she began to read the headline that pertained to a Troll rebellion in Russia. " Damn animals! Wish they would control themselves!" Turning to the back page, the faces of the Death Eaters that were still on the loose glared at her menacingly. Luckily for her, she had decided to skip DADA the day they attacked at Hogwarts. She had been safely locked away in her dormitory painting. Down below the faces, the newspaper had an in-depth report of the attack. Lydia rolled her eyes as Rita Skeeter prattled on about how unsafe the school was, and what needed to done to keep the students safe.
Taking another sip of her expresso, she mumbled to herself. " We are about as safe at Hogwarts as we are anywhere right now."

Monica walked into Catalina’s cubby the air had an aroma filled with sweets. She had been in a bad mood after a Gryffindor had tried to tell her off but she scared the girl before she made an attempt. She then walked around looking for any true worthy Slytherins, she was tired of those new first years that they were letting in, which were complete babies and didn’t have guts for anything. She then spotted girl in her house older than her who was reading the paper…She was interested when she saw the headlines about Hogwarts and it’s safety. She walked over letting her red/orange hair hang behind her back. She was even more flustered when she heard rumors of people not being safe. She walked over to the girl and said, “mind if I join you?”. She felt for a need to talk about a juicy topic.

Lydia heard a voice speak to her behind her paper. Lowering the paper, she looked over the top to see a younger girl looking at her. Eyeing her reproachfully, she recognized the girl quite quickly. Smiling, she put out her hand, motioning toward the chair. " Please take a seat. I've been reading the newspaper all day. Death Eater attacks all over the country . I hope those dirty mudbloods are running scared. It may even clear out most of Gryffindor and Hufflepuff population if we are lucky." Taking a sip of expresso from her cup, she waited for the girl to take the seat.
Extending her hand, she introduced herself. " Lydia Rivers. I don't believe we have met before. I've seen you around the castle. Henshaw, isn't it?" Lydia said quizzically, raising an eyebrow. " It's hard to find good families nowadays what with blood traitors and mudbloods mucking up the gene pool. Speaking of blood traitors, I saw the Weasleys here this afternoon. I swear, that girl looks like she hasn't taken a bath in ages. I mean, she just steps out of the floo and walks around town without even bothering to wipe her face off. Oh well, when you walk around with muck like Hermione Granger it can't help but rub off."

Monica sneered at the sound of the weasley’s names. She didn’t even want to picture their faces. Then the mentioning of ms. Granger, known as the know it all. Even her friends said that to her at least once. How pathetic. Monica sneered at that. She gazed at the older Slytherin and asked, “So how are you planning to spend your year in Hogwarts? I’m trying to avoid those snobbish Gryffindors.” She finished wonder of Lydia would let her sit. She then said, “I’m also sick of people complaining of attacks. If you don’t like them why keep track of them? Right?” she asked. Monica loved debating that was one of her things she was best at. She put on a small weary smile on her face. Just wondering.
