Luna walked down the Diagon Alley raising her knees very high with every step. One could never be too careful. It was really shameful how careless so many people were. Never looking out for real threats that were revealed to the world constantly by the Quibbler. Luna sighed and tied one more knot into the seaweeds she was carrying around her neck. Catalina had opened a sweets shop in Hogsmeade and Luna stopped in front of the house staring at it thoughtfully. She really did hope Catalina had it secured against Stumpfoots and Blackplaks. Now those two could be real pests.
Entering the building Luna turned on her left heel three time clockwise and then clapped loudly once. Feeling satisfied with the precautions she had taken Luna walked towards the display of stuffed animals. They had teddys, owls and other animals but Luna didn’t see any prototypes of Warruders, Crumple-Horned Snorlacks or so many other important creatures. Deciding to ask about it Luna walked to a counter where one of the workers at the shop stood and looked at the worker for a long time without blinking. Deciding that she looked trustworthy enough, Luna blinked: “Hello, could you tell me if the merchandise is protected against Blackplacks? And where are toys of Crumple-Horned Snorlacks?”
((I understood that the Cubby is opened now?))

The fireplace near the magazine rack was glowing with small piles of ash and ember. Suddenly there was a flash of green as the embers magically turned into tall emerald flames. Half of a second later, Robert walked right out of the fireplace with his wand in hand. He didn't want to be late for his new job. He in fact had been 5 minutes early. With a wave of his wand, he said, "Accio work robe." He had to concentrate very hard on the robe that he wore as he bussed tables and cleaned the bathrooms and so forth. It wasn't a very fun job, but it was an excuse for him to get to go to the wizarding world three days a week. The robe shot from the back room of The Cubby toward Robert. He put it on. Being a muggle born, he didn't keep many wizarding things at his house. It was nice to get back to the world of magic that he terribly missed.
After not too long, customers began to file in. He didn't notice many familiar faces until he saw a girl of his house named Luna Lovegood. He probably wouldn't have normally remembered her name, but most of the student called her Loony Lovegood. Robert knew this wasn't nice. It's just that she was always acting very odd. Robert peered over at her, she seemed to be staring at the girl at the front counter. Robert wanted to laugh but he didn't. What is she doing? Robert thought to himself. Then he heard her say, "Hello, could you tell me if the merchandise is protected against Blackplacks? And where are toys of Crumple-Horned Snorlacks?” This made Robert cover his mouth to stifle his uncontrollable laughter. She really is loony!

Valerie Apparated into the Cubby's employee lounge with a loud CRACK! It was her third day of work and she was now rather comfortable with all the items in the store. She was also finding herself being very confident while at work, a feeling she hadn't experienced in many years. Here she was not being required to perform in class in front of others or asked questions about things she didn't understand. It was simple in the shop, she knew all the items very well and was comfortable here. It was also a rather good paying job, comparable to what she'd be making if she'd gone to work in her father's Muggle sports store like she thought she'd end up doing. Valerie was lucky that Catalina had offered her a job, though as she thought about the other employees in the store that were in her year, she found that three of them, Catalina, Katie and herself were all Quidditch players. All in all it was a good job, Valerie had found that most the employees here were her friends from school, and those she didn't know seemed friendly enough.
The afternoon had gone well, Valerie had helped several customers pick out the right type of chocolates for presents. She'd helped a witch pick a Quidditch robe for her grandson. Now the customers in the shop all seemed to be able to find things themselves so Valerie returned to cashier's desk. After ringing up several customers she saw Luna Lovegood enter the shop. Luna was always acting very oddly and she always had her father's Quibbler magazine with her. The Quibbler was a very odd sort of magazine, Valerie had read a few articles in it that one time when Harry had an article printed in it. Harry's article was interesting, but the rest of the magazine was far beyond Valerie's wildest imagination and she soon filed it in the rubbish bin.
As Valerie approached Luna she immediately asked about blackpacks? And Crumble jorn sno lacks? Valerie had no clue what she was talking about, obviously something in the Quibbler. "I do believe our items are Sno lacks protected, but tell me again what are Sno lacks? And we don't have any Crumble jorn sno lacks toys, but at the counter there is a suggestion box, you can write a suggestion if you want."

The boy who had been standing at the counter peered at her. And then he started to laugh. Luna just blinked and kept a steady gaze on him, blinking her eyes rather rarely. But laughter was supposed to be good for one’s health. Therefore she didn’t interfere in he’s burst of laughter. Rather waited politely for the boy to stop laughing. “You shouldn’t ignore a question asked by a costumer,” Luna pointed out when the boy had managed to get himself under control again, “This is very important. At least finally people are starting to open their eyes and develop their minds. Father even had to reprint because of all the increased interest in Crumple-Horned Snorlacks.”
A girl approached them. She mispronounced ’Crumple-Horned Snorlacks’. Looking at the girl sadly, Luna pulled one piece of the seaweed from around her arm and handed it to her: “You really must be wary, of the creatures out there. It helps you protect yourself from dying because of fisherplats invading your lungs and choking you.” Writing a suggestion might be a good idea. Luna decided to do it later, but for now she moved onto a question that interested her more: “But do you have quidditch dolls in the shape of the Ravenclaw quidditch team? And do you have any chocolate covered fruits? Grapes, pine-apple pieces? And mint-sculptures too.”

Valerie cringed at the sea weed being put on her arm and made a face, she'd have to wash to the washroom and wash her arm with a lot of soap now. Though she didn't know Luna too well she knew she was odd, but this was getting out of hand. "I haven't seen any fisher cats around here so I don't think they'll be invading anytime soon."
Quickly moving on to the merchandise question, Valerie wanted this to end as soon as possible, this girl was strange beyond strange. "I'm sorry we don't have those kinds of fruits, we have chocolate cherries, chocolate covered raisins, and chocolate covered peanuts. We also carry chocolate mints, and at our cafe we have mint chocolate chip ice cream if you'd like that. We do have some generic Ravenclaw Quidditch toys though." Valerie led the way over to the Quidditch section and pointed to one of the shelves lined with figures from each of the houses. "They only make generic toys for Hogwarts, but we have a boy Quidditch player and a girl Quidditch player for each position and I'm sure we can change the hair or eye color for you if you want."

((Sorry it took so long, I've been on vacation and just am using my older "cousin-in-law's" laptop. This is just a response to Luna's remark.))
Robert couldn't believe she'd said anything to him. Most people would have just rolled their eyes at him. "Look, I'm just a bus boy. I don't even know what a crumpled, Horny Snork-Shack is. If you're staying to get something at the cafe, I'll bus your table. But other than that, I'm of no help about Blacksacks." Robert sighed. "Try asking Valerie." Robert pointed to another fairly new employee whom just walked out of the employee lounge.
((This post slightly overlapped the other posts because of my absence.))

Luna followed the girl – Valerie – to the Quidditch section. Picking up a scarf in quidditch colours Luna inspected the quidditch dolls. No Ravenclaw team. But it would be a small quidditch team in Ravenclaw colours. Nodding and blinking slowly Luna decided: “I’ll take the scarf and 2 boy figures and 5 girl figures. House Pendant too with a Ravenclaw crest. And I think that you had colourful quills and some journals too? I need a travel-diary. We are going to the rain-forest in summer with daddy to find Knock-Kneed Mertorks.” Luna stared at Valerie for a long time without blinking. She thought about raisins. They were actually dried grapes. But what would make grapes dry that badly? “I’ve always found raisins suspicious. Dried grapes – there is something very wrong with it,” Luna told Valerie in a half-whisper as she inspected the candies, trying to find the things she wanted to buy, “Isn’t it possible to get an Assorted Chocolate Box without chocolate covered raisins?”

Valerie intently listened to every Luna was saying that she wished to purchase, this was by far the largest purchase she'd handled so far. Waving her wand, she summoned a shopping bag from the counter and opened it up. Carefully she folded and put in the Ravenclaw scarf, soon followed by seven little Ravenclaw Quidditch figures which Valerie had to pack into a little box first so that the figures would stop flying out of the bag. Valerie then took a silver Ravenclaw pendant and wrapped it in tissue paper before putting it into a little bag. Next came a pack of colored quills.
"If you want we can make a new box of candy for you without raisins, we can give you two tubs of peanuts instead." As Valerie led the way to the writing area she pointed out the two types of stationary available. "We have personal journals that only you can read, and we have author's notebooks, if you are going on a trip maybe the author's notebook is better, you can write a whole lot more in that and then can share it with others, we've also got a lot of colors too." Valerie then waited for her response.

Luna watched as Valerie packed in the things she had decided to buy this far. Staring at it thoughtfully Luna thought about quidditch. It was a fun game. A lot of her friends played it too. Ravenclaw’s own team was by far the best. They always played best. At a sudden impulse Luna reached out and added a Hogwarts House Banner to her things, deciding she wanted that too. She was proud of her house after all. Was Hogwarts protect of the attacks of Stumpfoots and Blackplaks. She would have to ask professor Dumbeldore about it when school started again.
Blinking hazily and coming out of her thoughts as Valerie started talking again Luna followed her to the display of stationeries. Listening to her explanation Luna stared at the notebooks without blinking as she thought about the problem. She would have to draw the Knock-Kneed Mertork and that was a big animal. But she would have to write and description about it too. And daddy would most certainly forget to brink notebooks. Luna stared at the notebooks as her eyes widened. Daddy would forget his notebooks and then they would constantly have to be looking for paper too. Maybe she should stock up for that occasion. She had bring rather much money along.
Finally blinking herself out of her worried daze Luna picked up a Artist’s Tablet and 6 copies of Author’s Notebook making sure each had 200 pages in it. Two oranges, two pink and two purple versions. That way they wouldn’t get lost. Turning her head Luna gazed at Valerie worriedly. She was an employee here so she should know: “Would this do or would I need more? Daddy always makes a lot of notes and he is very absent-minded. Always loosing things. Do you think I should buy more?”

Valerie waited patiently as Luna contemplated her decision, then went with two oranges, two pinks and two purple notebooks. Once more Valerie shrunk them and added them to the shopping bag. "I think that these notebooks will be plenty enough for your adventure, this is 1,200 pages! I don't know if anyone can write that much in a summer vacation." Luna next asked if there was anything else and Valerie cleared her throat, "I honestly think you've bought enough, this is quite a lot, and you can always come back or order something in the mail as well."
Valerie then led the way to the clerk's desk and started the slow process of adding up everything Luna had ordered. By the time she had finished the total was a small fortune and she showed the bill to Luna, not quite sure how she'd handle such a large sum of money. "If you can't pay for it all now you can do a monthly payment plan, I can set you up with one now if you'd like. You'll only have to pay 10 galleons today, and then 5 galleons a month until your bill is fully paid."

Luna beamed at Valerie. She was a nice girl. And Luna was happy that she thought she had everything Luna would need. She had to buy the authors notebooks for daddy too. He was always so absent-minded and loosing things. Luna skipped after Valerie to the clerk’s desk waiting patiently as she added up her bill. Listening carefully to options to pay for everything in monthly overview Luna blinked. Gazing downwards Luna looked for the price for her things for a while without blinking. 25 galleons and 3 sickles. Daddy had given her 50 galleons to go, so Luna would pay the price immediately. “You should add a small swirl to your number ‘2’. Otherwise it can wonder away at night. If you add the swirl, then it can’t leave the paper,” Luna told Valerie seriously after a looking at the price for a while, “But you have a very nice number ’5’. I’ll pay for everything now.” Raising a small pouch filled with money Luna counted out 26 galleons. Throwing each galleon in the air, clapping once before catching the galleon again and placing it on the counter. Taking her things Luna beamed at Valerie once again before skipping out of the store happily. ((Hope I did the maths for making sure how much Luna spent, correctly ))
