Dana strolled down the streets of Hogsmeade. The streets were stills relatively empty. Most probably because of the early time. There was still 5 minutes until it would turn 8 AM when most stores would open up. Most people probably wouldn’t come here before that. And the store-owners were in their stores. It was a shame really. It was a nice morning. Seeing the hopscotch crates drawn on the road by some kids Dana grinned and hopped through the game easily. Smiling triumphantly upon completing the game Dana moved further along the street once again. A red tank-top and white shorts completed the looks. Even her hair had been pulled into two pony-tails giving Dana a completely childish look.
Finally it turned 8 and a minute later Dana arrived at the quidditch store. Stepping in Dana smiled at the guy behind the counter and only a few minutes later she was already trying on a pair of quidditch gloves. Dana still wasn’t completely sure how exactly she had ended up in her quidditch team, but since she already was there she might as well enjoy it. And it wouldn’t be Dana-ish if she didn’t have the best equipment. Or at least the equipment she liked best. Pulling the glove on Dana flexed her finger a few times and rotated her wrist. The leather glove fit perfectly into her hand but it gave her enough room to move still. “I’ll take these,” Dana decided paying for the gloves and a little practice snitch. Pushing the gloves into her small white backpack Dana exited the store. And did a cart-wheel. Just for fun. Just because she was happy and felt like it. Shyness that would prevent doing something like that had never been part of Dana’s character. She wasn’t brave under any conditions, but she wasn’t shy.
Setting the practice snitch free Dana watched as it whirled away. It was charmed not to go further than 5 feet from her, so Dana wasn’t worried about loosing it. Strolling down the street slowly Dana’s eyes followed the little snitch as it breezed around as she picked it out of the air when it came within her arms reach. A little practice never hurt anyone. “Oy!” Dana almost jumped as she felt something hit the back of her head and then wid fluttering. Raising her hands Dana groaned. The snitch that had been out of sight for a hile had successfully managed to tangle itself into her hair. Frowning Dana stopped and tried to dislodge the little golden ball from her hair.

Will walked into Hogsmeade five minutes after eight, when it opened. The orphanage had allowed him to go get his school supplies today but he had to be back by six at the latest. Will smiled down at the potions ingredients he would need for this year. Most of it he had, but some of it was new to him. He picked a few things up and eyed them carefully before gathering all his savings and piling it on the desk. The man there took the money carefully and gave Will a bag to carry his things in. He nodded and turned, leaving the shop. It was then that he saw a girl his age battling with her dark hair. Will raised an eyebrow curiously. He had seen this girl before.... He was always bad at names and for the life of him he couldn't remember her name. Will blinked a few times, knowing he had seen her at school. Moving over, he gave her a smile and put his bag down. "Need some help?" he asked, as he moved behind her. He reached out and tried to get the small snitch out of her hair. Will wondered why she had a snitch with her but didn't bother to ask. Grabbing the small ball, he tugged carefully so not to pull any hair and dislodged it. Grinning, Will stepped back in front of the girl and handed the snitch back to her. "There you go. I would ask you how it managed to get all tangled up but perhaps I don't want to know." he smiled, looking her carefully over. She seemed so familar....Will sighed at his horrible memory before holding out his hand to her to shake. "Will Senetta. You're from Ravenclaw, right?" he remarked, raising an eyebrow in the process. "I'm sorry, but I'm terrible with names... Over the summer everything slips from my mind." ((Sorry it's so short. ))

Dana grumbled quietly under her breath in German. For some reason she always started speaking in German when she was angry. And the bloody practice snitch was still stuck in her hair because Dana couldn’t see exactly what was wrong. He heard a somewhat familiar voice ask if she needed any help and a few moments later the little snitch was free again. Letting it loose Dana smiled recognizing the boy. “It just flew there. Not my fault. Thanks for the help and yes I know you’re Will,” Dana replied as she shook the boys head with an amused grin, “Yes, I’m from Ravenclaw. Considering the fact we have been year and house mates for 5 years already and you still have trouble recalling my name – I don’t doubt that you have a bad memory for names. Dana Coran.”
Dana smiled at Will as she pulled lightly on her pony-tails moving her head from side to side. The two of them had never actually spoken. Despite being in the same year and house. But Dana knew faintly who Will was. At least she knew the name and could connect it with the right face. As for anything else about the boy was a blank for Dana. “Well, considering the fact we’ve never spoken, no hard feelings about it. Pleasure to finally be introduced.” Preaching out her hand Dana picked up the floating snitch as it buzzed past her face and hold onto it for a few moments before letting it free again, “And thanks for the help of getting the snitch out of my hair. Figured I could use some practice catching it. As much as I hate to admit it – Wonder-kid and Malfoy are both sodding good. With years of practice behind them.”

Will returned the amused grin without hesitation. "Ah, yes. Horrible memory. Considering we have never really conversed before, it's not nearly as bad I suppose. I recognized you from somewhere," he said with a smile. He watched as Dana let the snitch go. He was never into Quidditch much; he never actually felt the need to play it. Sometimes he would just run out patience, but that wasn't usually the case. He just preferred the ground to air. Flying around in the Pitch could be dangerous, especially with those bludgers flying around. No, Will was the crazy fan in the stands these days. It was the only time that Will actually watched instead of did. He cast another smile Dana's way as she talked about how she needed practice.
"Not if you're a natural you don't." Will said with a wink. He had seen Dana play a few times and she wasn't bad when you came down to it. He smiled as she mentioned 'Wonder-Kid.' "Not much of a Potter fan, eh?" Will asked with an amused smile. He wasn't exactly what you could call a Harry Potter fanatic either. Sure, it was great and all that he could survive a killing curse but, it did seem like Harry could get away with things others couldn't. Will sighed noticeably. Wonder-Kid was a good nickname; he could do wonders, but he preferred to just call him Potter. Nothing harmful, funny or insulting. Bringing his eyes back to focus on Dana, he waved his hand around lazily. "I'm only here to shop for school supplies. The orphanage let me go for a good eight hours, but I'll probably return before-hand." he grinned at Dana, wondering if she had known he was an orphan. Considering they've never spoken before, it wouldn't surprise Will one bit. He walked beside her, watching others walk by and waiting to see what Dana had to say on the subject.

Dana scoffed at the idea: “Well, it would be easy if I was a natural. Unfortunately I’m not. I just see the snitch and I’ve played enough different games in summer to be bale to catch a ball. Couldn’t fly for the life of me with a quaffle however.” Grinning brilliantly at Will’s next question Dana shook her head: “No, not really Wonder-kid’s fan. But I don’t know him personally, so I can’t call him ‘Harry’. Calling him Potter would make me feel too Snape-ish. So I picked up Wonder-kid form the Slyths. Figured it sounds friendlier than ‘the-boy-who-just-wouldn’t-die’.” Dana tilted her head thoughtfully. She didn’t mind Wonder-kid actually, mainly because she didn’t know him. Certainly, she was thankful for the times he had beaten Voldemort, but once again – Dana didn’t know her. And one way or an other life would go on without him as well. Life always did. No one was irreplaceable.
Hearing that Will lived in an orphanage came as a shock to Dana. How did Will manage withal of his school-books and stuff? And weren’t there any fuss with the muggle bureaucrats? Dana’s up-bringing kicked in however and the only outward sign she gave was a blink. She didn’t want to sound rude either. “8 hours? You have plenty of time before you have to start getting back then,” Dana commented calmly as they started to walk down the street, “What school supplies you need? I have all of mine I think. I managed to get my potions supplies from the Knockturn before the Diagon attack as well.” Dana frowned her fingers brushing the think white line between her thumb and index finger on her right hand again. She had gotten off easy – a broken thumb and a stiff neck – but the attack still bothered her. Not much she could do about it however so Dana kept a smile on her face. Shaking her head to banish the thoughts Dana smirked at Will: “Mind if I bother you while you’re shopping for school?”

((Sorry for such a late reply. Been on Vacation. )) Will raised an eyebrow at Dana with a look of confusion. "You? Not a natural? Never would have guessed." He replied fervently, making his face as serious as possible. He then let his features relax into a casual smile as he and Dana continued to stroll up the street. She seemed to enjoy the question about Potter, however, or Wonder-Kid. He smirked and shook his head. "Snape's my favorite teacher, you know," he said with a wink. He chuckled slightly and resumed looking around at the shops. He smiled at nothing in particular. He was very surprised that Dana wasn't surprised about his orphanage life. Maybe he had told her before....He shook his head angrily at his horrible memory before combing his hand through his hair. He felt at ease here and was glad that Dana wasn't exploding about the orphanage as others sometimes do. Yes, he appreciated it very much. Dana continued to speak about how much time he had. He nodded his agreement. She then asked something that made Will raise an eyebrow. "Even if I did mind, it wouldn't change anything, would it?" Will asked while blinking a few times. He liked talking to Dana even though most of the time he was teasing her. Not really teasing but joking. He shrugged. "Of course you can bother me! I don't have much shopping left to do anyway. I'm sure I'll get home before four o'clock." he shifted his weight to his other foot before stopping suddenly when he saw Zonko's. He was quite tempted to go in and buy a few biting teacups but he held back and continued to walk away from it. What did he need for school supplies? "Er...Potions, for sure and I need a few books from Florish and Blotts. I mean - where ever they sell books around here." he paused and looked around, not sure exactly which shop held his school books. "I think that's all. If it isn't, I can always come back later. I suppose, if the owners will let me." he frowned and moved away from Dana to the closest shop. It looked like it had Potions ingredients in it so Will ventured inside to find the books he needed. Surprised, he picked up the books he needed and payed for them quickly. Heading back out to the door, he remembered that he hadn't looked to see where Dana had gotten to. Exiting, he looked around, wondering if she had left without him.

“I like Snape too. He knows his subject thoroughly,” Dana let out a chuckle, “Well, I think he isn’t too fond of me however. Not after that bloody dare where I had to state my never-dying love to him in poem form. I’m glad I walked away from him without a hex. I suppose being surrounded by random students saved me.” Dana smirked back at Will at his question: “Of course it would change, if you said I can’t. Then I’d just follow 5 steps after you, babbling loudly, calling you and irritating absolutely every person in Hogsmeade. Got to amuse myself somehow, right?”
Will seemed to be in a rather good mood. At least he was joking before he entered some book-store. Dana looked into the store over the door for a moment. She had all the books she needed already. Dana still entered the store, browsing a few books in the way. Picking up a book on medieval potions Dana browsed it curiously. The pictures were rather gruesome. The script wasn’t the easiest to read either, but Dana moved to the counter none the less and paid 56 galleons for the book. It was a very old book which gave it value. Kris would most certainly appreciate this. And if he had it – well, Dana could keep it herself as well. It would most certainly be educating literature.
Dana looked around for Will once she was ready and smiled seeing him looking around himself. “Lost something?” Dana asked approaching him from the behind, “Got everything you needed? Or was the store missing some books? I suppose they should have most for Hogwarts, considering the fact most students shop here now.”

A voice sounded behind Will that made him turn. It was Dana and she had been in the bookstore all along. He shook his head at her before slapping his bag that he had to show all the books he had gotten. "Yes. I believe I have everything and if not, more." he smiled at her as she asked if he lost something. "Nope. Nothing at all. Unless we're counting people, that is." he smirked before walking out of the store. "Maybe I should get a leash for you so I don't happen to loose you somewhere. The only problem is, I don't think they sell human leashes around here, do you?" he chuckled slightly before continuing his stroll through the street. All he needed now was Potions. He knew it might take a while for him to find the shop it was located at so he decided to strike up a conversation with Dana.
"Seeing as we don't know each other very well, I am very tempted to ask about you. I hope you don't mind." he smiled genuinely before speaking again. "What talents do you have? Sorry, I always ask this. It lets me know more about peoples personality. If you get my drift." he swung his bag around his shoulders to a more comfortable position before looking down at his hands. Was he supposed to tell her his talent? Might as well. After all, he practically had all day here so why not talk some more? "My only real talent besides getting good grades is....animals. They're my best friends, you know? It's like I can talk to them and they listen. Tell me if I'm crazy but that's what I think I can do. Strange, huh? Horses are my all time favorite." he shook his head, wondering what Dana thought of him now. A boy who could talk to horses? He smiled knowing there was no other way to put it. Stuffing his hands into his pockets casually, Will looked at Dana, trying to remember what it was she did. He knew that she did something, besides Quidditch, that she loved to do. Most everyone did. Once again, his memory did not suffice to the job so he gave it up and fell into silence.

"Maybe I should get a leash for you so I don't happen to loose you somewhere.” Will said and Dana, who had started stuffing the book into her backpack looked up slowly with a sarcastic arch of her eye-brow. Smiling angelically at Will Dana’s voice almost dripped sarcasm: “Oh, getting a leash wouldn’t be a problem. They sell all kinds of stuff in some of the stores that come after Hogs Head if you know where to look. However what makes you think you’re good enough to be able to catch me and leash me… not to mention being good enough to actually hold me?” Dana’s words were cutting. She wasn’t exactly a feminist – she didn’t mind a lot of things. But comments like that – as if she didn’t have a free will – always got her back up. More than one boy had saw the outcome of a mad Dana as well. She wasn’t afraid to kick a guy and having been shown a bit of martial arts – she could hit hard.
Dana turned back to her backpack pushing the book in it. Will had made a very critical joke around her with that joke. Then again – it might have been taken as not too polished social skills so Dana decided to let it pass for now. “Animals? Sounds nice. I wouldn’t go as far as saying you can talk to the, but having seen my own cousin around animals, as he likes flying with thestrals at Hogwarts and swimming with the giant squid – I don’t doubt that you can have good connection with them. He ahs horses as well. 7. 8 now actually as one of his mares just got a foal, myself I don’t mind animals but I’m not overly good with them either,” Dana tilted her head. Her talents? Dana had never thought about it in such way. Sure, she was active. But she did most things for her own pleasure. Dancing – sure, she was good at it. But it was because she practiced and had danced since she was kid and she practiced often, because she liked it. But Dana wouldn’t really call it a talent. She couldn’t draw, nor sing. She got good grades, but only because she worked for them. She was good at people too – sometimes it could be called even verbal manipulation. But then again Dana had seen much and she did have a lot of Slytherin influences in her.
“My talent? I have to admit that I don’t know. I work for my grades, so that’s not a talent. Can’t sing, can’t draw, never in my life have I actually done some embroidery, or knit or sewn something,” Dana shrugged not really knowing what to guess, “The Sorting Hat told me ‘that I would be good in Slytherin. But there never was a question about which house suits you?’ before yelling out Ravenclaw. So I guess I’m a mean book-worm. Or not mean actually, but just with very deep Slytherin influences.”

Will raised an eyebrow as Dana seemed to get fired up at his comment. It had just been a small throw-out comment but the way Dana was taking it, it seemed like a nasty personal insult. He smiled back at Dana as she said words that had a cut to them. He was used to being slammed around by people; the orphanage loved to have control over what their orphans did. Dana didn't seem to be out for control but she seemed to be trying to make a point. Will let his eyebrow raised high enough to disappear in his hair as he listened patiently through Dana's small speech. Once he was sure she was done, he let his walk turn more into a strut.
"What makes me think I'm better then you, you mean? I'm not saying that and I know I'm not better then anyone else in the world. I'm just saying it as a small throw-out comment that lead from your comment. But - since you can't take those - I'll be extremely careful what I tell you." he smiled sincerely although it would have looked better if his eyebrows still hadn't been raised in a mocking impression. He let the smile drop from his face and he walked in silence as Dana thought talked about what he had said about talking to animals. She mentioned how her cousin had a relationship with animals that was somewhat close to what Will was describing. He grinned.
"Maybe he and I should get together sometime. He has horses? I wouldn't mind seeing them." he smiled as he thought it over. He had a distinct idea who Dana's cousin was. He couldn't remember his name - which wasn't a surprise - but he could remember what House he was in. Slytherin. Will didn't mind Slytherins though. He was used to snobby control-freaks and rude, sadistic people. The orphanage had them all. Living at the dreaded place did have its ups and downs. Although Will would rather be with his own family, the orphanage had taught him a lot. Not with the lessons they taught but with the things they put us through, intentionally or no. Living with all the other orphans taught lessons on what people were like and how to deal with them. Will was used to it and Slytherins were no different. He smiled leisurely before listening in as Dana described her talents. She made it sound like she had none. Will raised an eyebrow and didn't stop his surprise from radiating from his face.
"Slytherin influences? I was almost picked for Slytherin myself. Except it wasn't really like a choice it was just the Hat's opinion that I might belong in Gryffindor. I think it was my thirst to prove myself but getting good grades and my patience prevailed and I ended up in dear Ravenclaw." he smiled as though the story was funny. Life wouldn't have been any different if he had been in Slytherin. He would just be wearing a different color around the school. He smirked as some people thought that Houses were everything. They were important, yes, but it didn't really matter what House you ended up in. It was just your personality that mattered. He raised his eyebrows at Dana as he thought of some stuff other girls did. He thought of Kori and what she had said when he had met her. "Do you dance at all? Most people do. Or they sing, which you already crossed out and some play an instrument."

„I didn’t ask what makes you better than me. I asked what in you would be enough to keep me,“ dana asked while sticking her tongue out towards Will, „And yup, there are some expressions like the one you stated previously that get my back up. You can call it the feministic part in me.“ Kris was good with animals. He adored them with his very soul and most of the time preferred animals to human company. Well, it depend who would be the human companion, but still... „Eh, Kris is in Slytherin. I’m not completely sure how optimistic he would be about meeting you. I guess being in Ravenclaw rather than in Gryffindor or Hufflepuff would help here,“ Dana replied a bit hesitantly, „One of his horses had a foal recently though. I happened to be there during the time – newly born horsy – it was amazing. A chestnut. With white socks.“
Dana eyed William thoughtfully. He didn’t seem Slytherin-ish really. If Dana had had to guess, she himself would have rather put Will into Gryffindor. Gryffindor just seemed to more closer to Will’s nature than Slytherin. Then again that was Dana’s personally opinion. She didn’t know Will that well. „Dance? Well, I hae learned ballroom and Ilike dancing. But I do it for my own personal pleasure. And to stay in shape,“ Dana replied with a sile flashing across her features as she did three twirls with raised arms. Stopping Dana waited for will to reach her once again before shrugging, „I was raised as a pureblood and given the best education possible to do well ni the magical world. Ballroom dancing is most certainly a must. And I don’t have musical hearing. I can’t sing for the life of me and I don’t play any instrument.“
„But as you probably have uessed – I was pretyt much born with a golden spoon in my mouth. Well, I think it was silver, but,“ Dana half-smirked, half-grinned towards Will, „Tell me what’s life like in an orphanage? Busy and loud I suppose, considering there are many people around always? At least more hectic than my life I think, as I was an only child...“ Dana’s last words sounded a bit hesitant. Kris’s legal gaurdians were her grand-parents. Despite being only 5th or 6th level cousins, Dana took to Kris as a borhter. They had grown up together, played together, ranted to each other and at Dana’s case cried on his shoudlers. For Dana Kris was a borhter, even though practically Dana was an only child. In some way it didn’t even make sense in Dana’s head. But she loved Kris no matter what, so she banished the thoughts carelessly.
