Mack hadn't done this in...well...ever. She had never been handed money and been told, "Have at it!" Nor, had Mack ever thought she would have the chance to spend money on herself. Money that wasn't hers. She always had to earn her own money, and spend it on essentials. She never had the luxury of having money to spend on the things she wanted. Mack looked through the racks of the clothes in a shop at Hogsmeade. Ever since the Death Eaters and giants had attacked Diagon Alley (which Dixie was furious about), Hogsmeade was the only place to actually shop. She did perfer the clothes in Diagon Alley, rather than the ones in Hogsmeade, but she couldn't help that. Mack pulled out a pair of blue jeans that were ripped along the knees and the pockets. The grunge look seemed to appeal to Mack, and even though she had dyed her hair back to blond- she still like the retro look that she wore. Even if it meant that she was staying the same in some way shape or form. It didn't bother Mack. It would bother her parents, because they wanted her to look acceptable for her "party" but they didn't realise she wasn't going to get all dressed up. Mack would never get dressed up for her birthday, it was just something she would never consider in her right mind. Mack took the jeans up to the cashier, payed for her jeans and left the shop. Her blond hair blew behind her as she walked to the Three Broomsticks. She was in the mood for a butterbeer. Mack pushed open the door and walked to the back table, thinking about what stores she should hit next. Today was supposed to be about relaxation and yet, Mack felt no more relaxed than she was tense. She sighed and lowered her head into her hands. She didn't even notice someone approach her.

Maddie strolled into the Three Broomsticks, hearing the little bell overhead, tinkle. She looked around the small place, and shrugged as she started searching around for an empty table. After a few minutes a searching, Maddie crossed her arms over her chest. All of the tables, were either full, or filthy. She sighed as she walked a little bit more down the building, still searching...
She finally came across a table, with a rather familiar face occupying it. The girl had her head in her hands, but Maddie still recognized her. It was Mackenzie Holden, one of Maddie's friends that she hadn't seen in a while. 'Just when I was starting to get used to her red hair, she went and dyed it back to blond.' she thought to herself, with a slight laugh. "Hello." she said, leaning her hand against the table, and acknowledging her presence. "Mind some company?" she asked.
((Sorry it's so short, I couldn't think of anything, and I have only a little bit of inspiration left in me tonight.))

Mack looked up at a sudden voice, Maddie stood before her. She tried to smile, but sort of failed miserably. She shook her head and motioned to the seat across from her, "Not at all. I am contemplating my fate in my party- and company is most welcomed. My party is in a week, you know? And I have to figure out who is all going." She ran a hand through her hair and sighed.
"Of course, Jack and you. Kris. Padme. Mary, I haven't spoken to her though. I want to invite Cass, but my parents wouldn't allow it." Mack sighed again and took a drink from her butter beer that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. The warm liquid made her feel a little bit better and she smiled, this time successfully, at Maddie, "So what brings you to Hogsmeade?"

Maddie thankfully slid into the seat across from Mack, and listened to her finish talking, about her birthday party. Maddie, must have forgotten about it for a few moments, because at first she was giving a slightly puzzled look, but luckily, she had remembered, without having to ask her. Maddie smiled a bit, when she was finished speaking, after saying her list of people that she wanted to invite. Mack had said that she wanted to invite Cassandra, but her parents wouldn't allow it, Maddie's parents probably wouldn't either. Maddie had never actually became very good friends with Cass, but she did seem like probably the only Gryffindor that was worthy associating with.
She watched as Mack took a drink of a butterbeer, that had seemed to appear out of nowhere, and the same soon happened to Maddie. She grinned at the drink, as she took a few sips as well. "So, what kind of party are you planning on having?" she asked, curiously.

"Well, my parents want a formal one..." Mack answered slowly as she drew circles with her finger on the table. She shrugged. She sort of hoped Maddie would talk her into a formal party, that way she coudl say on eof her best-friends pressured her into giving in, she didn't do it on her own. She figured it would be kind of nice dressed up in a ballgown or evening dress or something of the sort. Mack lookd at Maddie and shrugged again.
"I don't really want a formal one...I want casual."

Mack said that her parents wanted her to have a formal party, and Maddie smiled slightly, remembering her last birthday party. It was a formal one as well, but she hadn't invited her friends, her family felt that they should just have one with all of her closest family members. Of course, about fifty people showed up that Maddie had only seen maybe once in her life, or people that she didn't know at all. Although, it had been a bit of fun. Mack then had said that she didn't exactly want to have a formal party, more of a casual one. Maddie shrugged. Yes, a casual one wouldn't do bad either. "Hmm..." she mused. "Well, maybe it would be kind of fun to have a formal party? Besides, I don't think that I've ever seen Jack in dress robes." she added with a short laugh, thinking back.
((Sorry it's so short again.))
