The sun began to rise over the horizon and the chickens started to wake. They began to let out their morning chuckle and scurried the pen. Ginny had been laying in her room staring up into the ceiling deep in thought. Her long red hair was all messy and she was still in her night robes. Second by second thoughts rushed through her head leaving her in another world. Everyone expect for Mrs. Weasley was still asleep. The sounds of snoring filled the house as Ginny turned on her side and starred out the open window. Sunlight began to pour in making the room seem more cozy and warm. Turning over to face the ceiling once more Ginny started to think of her fifth year. OWLs were dreadful but she was strong and went through them like that. But she had been kidnapped by Death Eaters not able to defend herself. Professor Dumbledore had let her take as many months off after the Aurors had found her. But She wanted to go straight back to Hogwarts but mother wanted her to stay home for at least a month. After that Ginny returned ignoring the stares of the students and whispers about her. But soon again Julie had been kid napped as well. Ginny chest heaved upward as she drawled in a deep breath clearing her mind. She was safe at home and didn't need the past to overrule her future.
An hour later Ginny had been dressed and her hair didn't stick out in all direction as before. Just as she was about to turn the numb a loud BANG came the kitchen followed by Mrs. Weasley screaming. "FRED! GEORGE! What on earth are you two up to!?" A smile crept on Ginny's face as she ran down the stairs and into the kitchen to see the table flopped over and the wooden flour was blackened. "Sorry mum. We didn't know that our new spinning tops would blow up when they collided together," George said holding one of their new inventions in his hands. The Twins had started a joke shop in Diagon Alley just this year and the buisses was blooming. Instantly Mrs. Weasley withdrew her wand and the table lifted itself off the ground and the plates that had been broken pulled themselves back together and landed in their right spots. "How many times do I have to tell you boys! No experimenting your new inventions inside the house!" Mrs. Weasley began her face turned a scarlet color of rage. "We know mum. Wont do it again." Fred said putting the other top in his pocket while looking up noticing Ginny standing there listening to was had happened. "Good Morin' Ginny. See you have heard the screaming. Want to try the to.." Fred began but Mrs. Weasley interrupted him. "Outside you will try your inventions! I do not want another table or part of this house blown up!" she said her face still a shade of rage as the eggs and bacon started to sizzle. At that moment Ginny stomach began to rumple and took a seat at the table across from the twins. "What are the tops suppose to do?" she asked eagerly wanting to know more about them. "Well little sis you take the top and throw it on the table and it starts to spin and when you say the word it will blow up..." George began stopping as Fred ended his sentence. "They come in all colors and sizes. Muggles use them but don't blow up." he ended. "I want to tr..." Ginny began but Mrs. Weasley cut in. "Ginny dear you will try it later time to eat. Wheres Ron?" she began as the pan flew into the air and the eggs filled over onto the plate.
Just then Ron came into view slumping down into the chair next to hers yawning and stretching. "Whats the comination about?" he said throw yawns. "Fred and George invented a new invention. Blew up the kitchen. The usual" Ginny said eying her older brother. Harry had been stuck with the Dursley for part of the summer before coming to the borrow. Ginny wondered how Harry was doing. She hadn't seen him since Julie had gone. Ginny tried not to find him and make sure he was OK. Even know she was quite use to his yelling and screaming at her. Taking a bite of her meal Ginny began to wonder off again but was yet again taken back as the door flew open and in came an aging with almost bold red hair. "Good Mornin' Weasleys! Molly what happened to the flour?" Mr. Weasley said taking a seat at his usual spot in front of the table. "Another one of Fred and George experiments." she replied filling his plate with eggs and bacon.
After finishing Breakfast the Weasley began to go their separate ways. Fred and George aparate to work while Ron went outside to practice Quidditch. Ginny and her mom were the only ones left in the kitchen. "Ginny dear mind if you help me wash up?" she asked with a movement of her wand the plates went to the sink and began to scrub. Ginny nodded her head and walked beside her mother with a towel drying them off and putting them away. "Mom I was wondering if I could go to Hogsmeade today. I just want to you know shop and look around." Ginny said drying off the last plate and putting it away looking at her mother with pleading eyes. Mrs. Weasley looked at her daughter with an look of fright. "Ron will go..." she began but Ginny narrowed her eyes at her mother and interrupted, "I think I can go by myself. I will met some one there and they will be an look out. Anyways would would they want with me now?!" Ginny began in protest. "Ginny dear please don't be mad I just don't want to lose you again." Mrs. Weasley began looking at the ground. Ginny sighed and look at her feet, "Fine mum." Ginny said defected.
Ginny stood in front of the fireplace watching Ron disappear into the flames. "Now Ginny dear stay close to him and don't wonder off." Mrs. Weasley began as Ginny walked into the fire grabbing the fine powder and throwing it to ground while shouting The Three Broomsticks Hogsmeade Village! Just like that the emerald flames filled around her sending her spinning at full speed. Ginny never really mind traveling by floo powder but at the end she always seemed to be sick to her stomach. The spinning soon stooped as she saw Ron standing before the fire waiting for her. Stepping out into the pub she brushed off a few ashed from her clothes and walked out of the pub with Ron trailing behind her. "I think I can shop by myself Ron!" Ginny began walking down the street looking for a shop to go in. Ron did not argue with her and she was glad. Not really paying attention where she was going Ginny knocked into sending her to the ground. "I'm so sorry. I wasn't paying attention. Here let me help you." Ginny began extending her arm out at the girl letting a smile cross her lips.

The day she had planned to spend with Jazz was over without really even starting. Jazz had stomped away to home, that Slytherin 7th year had stormed away in a huff, leaving Dana to roll her eyes towards the sky. Really, what so special had happened? Had such a run-in happened inside Hogwarts castle, then both of them had just brushed it away. Shaking her hand, Dana turned on her heel and looked around the Hogsmeade village, contemplating her plan on what to do now. She could always return home and spend the day with a good book. Or she could wander the streets by herself. It took a mere second for Dana to decide on her further action before she started to move down the street. Stopping and buying herself one more ice-cream cone, Dana enjoyed the cold sugary sweetness. Ice-cream really was a marvelous discovery. Perfect treat for a day like this.
Perhaps she could find something fun. Dana didn’t need any clothes right now, but she did want a ring. Possibly a pendant too in the shape of a snitch. Since she already was playing seeker, she might as well show it. Smiling and glancing down at her belly-button ring – also in the shape of a little golden snitch – Dana felt it’s wings flutter against her stomach for a moment. Magic was a neat thing too. Dana would have never gotten herself a belly-button ring, if it wasn’t magic. Things were simple with this one – just place it against your belly-button and touch the little chain with the tip of your wand, and the snitch stays in it’s place until you touch it with your wand again. Simple, fun and Dana didn’t mind the fact that it caught eyes too. She had never been known for shyness.
Finishing her ice-cream Dana cleaned her hands with a napkin and threw the napkin away then. Seeing a small store that sold all kinds of trinkets and random stuff Dana smiled and stopped to look at the display window. Maybe she would find something completely useless but at the same time completely wonderful in here. A small statue of a horse with spread wings that had been charmed to float over a small island with forests and a mountain caught Dana’s eyes. For something so little – the island would fit into her palm and the horse was small enough to fit the proportions of the island too. Kris would probably know what breed of horse it was. It would suit him – small, elegant, giving a sense of adventure.
Crouching in front of the store-window Dana stared at it when someone crashed into her site, knocking Dana out of balance and sitting on the street. Looking up to see who had ran into her Dana saw Ginny Weasley. Everybody knew her – not to mention the flaming red hair she had been kidnapped earlier this year. Besides they were both 6th years, so they had some classes together. Dana hesitated only a quarter of a second as she contemplated whether to say that she was glad to see her safe again or not before deciding against it. She didn’t want to remind Ginny of the bad occurrence. Taking her hand Dana stood and brushed her skirt and blouse off while smiling: “No problem. All my bones are still in one peace, so nothing wrong. Guess crouching and staring at a shop-window in the middle of the street isn’t the smartest thing to do either. But I was contemplating whether to buy that statue with the horsy and island or not. It would fit my cousins temper, but then again…” Dana stared thoughtfully at the mentioned statue for a few moments. Slytherins could be picky and Kris was no exception for it. Shaking her head Dana looked at Ginny again and smiled: “Nice to see you. Looking for someone/something special? I think I saw your brother down near the Quidditch store a while ago if you’re looking for him.”

Ginny let out a sigh of relief as the girl was alright. Taking a closer look at the girl Ginny noticed that she was a Ravenclaw Prefect by the name of Dana Coran. Ginny had seen the girl in many of her classes but never really got around to talking to her. Letting out a little laugh as Dana began to comment about her bones in place and wanted to buy a statue for her tempered cousin. Looking across the street Ginny's light brown eyes peered into the shop and saw the tiny statue of the island and horse. Ginny sort of liked horses but never got a chance to met one in person. But she had to say the statue did look nice and something she might buy. If she had some more money.
Dana than began to ask if she was looking for somebody. Looking from the stores window to Dana Ginny nodded her head, "Not really. My mum wouldn't let me go to Hogsmeade alone after..." Ginny began but trailed off not really wanting to talk about it but instead steered the converation away from that topic. "So would you mind joining me looking around at the shops? Ron would probably leave me alone for an hour or so if I had company." Ginny asked really hoping that Dana wasn't to busy to shop with her.

Dana understood the sentence about being alone in Hogsmeade that Ginny started but didn’t finish. After being kidnapped she herself would have been too scared to roam the streets around here alone. Well, Dana’s house wasn’t known for courage either. Ginny’s was. Actually Dana was rather grateful that she wasn’t in the center of so dangerous events. It was the truth – there practically wasn’t any brave bone in her body.
“Sure, I’d adore some company. I was planning on spending a day with a dorm-mate in Hogsmeade, but we ran into some 7th year Slytherin and after a quick exchange of words she stomped in one direction, the Slytherin in an other,” Dana rolled her eyes thinking of the previous events again, “Honestly, it’s not that easy to handle an overly-arrogant Slytherin.” Dana sighed and shook her head, causing her hair to fall open from the hair-clip Dana had used earlier to put them up. Sighing Dana pulled the hair-clip off and attached it to her hand-bag. Pushing through her hair with her fingers spread, Dana left her hair as it was. Trying to put them all up again would be more bother than she felt like dealing with right now.
“But the point stays – I’d love some company. Let’s step in here for a moment, I think I’m going to buy the statue,” Dana said opening the store-door and entering. Asking to see the statue Dana eyed it thoughtfully, before nodding at the old woman behind the counter: “I’ll take it.” The statue was carefully packed and Dana put it into her bag once again being thankful for magic. There would have been no way without the help of a lot of magic that the statue would fit into her relatively small bag either way. ‘Carry-all’ charms on bags were nice too. Paying the statues price – 4 galleons and 4 sickles – Dana turned and smiled at Ginny.
“Alright, I’m ready to go now. I have to ask my cousin what horse that was flying there later. I could bet my head on the fact that he knows. He always knows about animals,” Dana muttered and exited the little store, “Mind if we stop by Zonko’s store later too? I have to get some surprise for a few friends. Other than that I have no preferences as to which stores we visit.”

There was a moment of awkward silence between the two. Staring at Dana Ginny looked around and saw Ron was looking around a shop a couple of stores away. Sighing Ginny looked back at the sixth year before her waiting for her to answer the question. After what seemed like countless hours of waiting Dana began to talk about her day. A friend of dorm mate of hers got into a little fude with a Slytherin and stormed off leaving Dana by herself. But Dana seemed like a girl who could take care of herself. "Slytherins are just themselves. If one ever ticks me off I send a Bat-Bogey Hexes at them." Ginny said her mind wondering upon the Slytherins she loathed the most. Draco Malfoy was far on the top followed behind Pansy Parkinson, the pugged faced girl and the eating buffoons Crabbe and Goyle. But Ginny always tried to stay clear of them and any other Slytherins who dared to face her Bat-Bogey Hexes sending them off to Madame Promfrey.
Dana than began to put her hair down and said that they would head off to the store with the statues inside. Following behind Dana Ginny entered the store and stood to the side while taking everything thing. She hadn't been to Hogsmeade in a very long time. To think of it she hadn't been anywhere but inside the Gryffindor Common Room or at home. A smile came to her face as she walked around and noticed some pretty color kites hanging from the ceiling. Some where in floral designs and others looked like Hogwarts Houses. Spotting a Scarlet and gold kite Ginny brown eyes twinkled. The kite would look lovely in the air and setting a proud example of the Gryffindor house. Setting her gaze from the ceiling to Dana Ginny walked toward her friend as she paid the old women behind the desk the money for both the statues. Each one was carefully package. "I think your cousin would love that gift. Does he like horses?" Ginny asked while the two walked out of the store and down the long rode of Hogsmeade.
Looking behind her Ginny wondered where Ron could of been off to. Maybe found another Gryffindor or at Honeyduckes looking over the many sweets. Looking behind her to Dana Ginny let a smile come to her lips as she asked to go into Zonkos Joke Shop and get a surprise for a friend. "No I don't mind at all. But Zonkos in nothing compared to Fred and George joke shop! They got pygmy puff the cutest little creatures. I am sure your cousin would quite like them." Ginny said with a smile while taking a left and entered the joke shop. There weren't as many people here but then again it was a little late in the evening. Walking further into the shop Ginny turned around and faced a self full of Joke books.

Dana sent an amused glance at Ginny: “Yes, I know about your famous Bat-Bogey Hex. Completely brilliant hex. And yes, my cousin likes horses. Has 7 himself I think back at Italy. If it’s an animal, then he likes them. He’s either flying with the thestrals, romping in the Forest or swimming with the squid. He got into friendly enough terms with the squid so it lets him sit on it’s tentacle.” Dana shook her head thinking about Slytherin. Sure, they could be snarky and unpleasant at times, but if you knew how handle them, then they were usually rather clever people.
“I don’t know, I have friends among Slytherins. I try out of the way of the Queens and Malfoy usually, even though he does look rather cute, but I have friends among some of them,” Dana pointed out thoughtfully, “And good friends. You as a Gryffindor probably can’t value both houses the same way I can, but actually – Slytherins and Gryffindors are shockingly alike. Brave, willing to fight for what they believe in, usually not too idiotic either with a few exceptions like Crabbe and Goyle. Even when Goyle is a surprisingly nice companion and much smarter than he looks. If you bribe him with chocolate. It’s just what they value more – others of themselves – that makes the biggest difference. But Slytherins are just humans too – so many people just let their comments get to them instead of turning them against the Slytherins.”
Dana grinned as they started heading towards Zonko’s. “I know your brothers store is better than Zonko’s. But your brothers don’t have a store in Hogsmeade and I’m here, so I have to be satisfied with what I get from here,” Dana pointed out with a grin. Dana browsed the shelves in Zonko’s with only half-mind thinking what she could buy and use when Ginny suggest Pygmy puffs. Little cuddly creatures. A burst of laughter escaped Dana’s lips. Ginny obviously didn’t know her cousin but Dana imagined Kris’s reaction when she would give him something like that. Giggling at the though Dana winked at Ginny. “Pygmy Puffs? My cousin – Kris – is a sixth year Slytherin. He would arch an eye-brow at me and sign me up into crazy people section in St. Mungos,” Dana told Ginny with laughter still evident in her voice as she picked up some pink glitter, “I’m pretty sure he’s going to hate this too. But he deserves it for sending dogs at my latest date. Brothers can be a pain.” Dana sent one more glance at Ginny, before paying for the glitter and then dropping it into her bag too: “I must salut you here. Living with 6 brothers and surviving all of them – now that’s a miracle you don’t see every day.”

Ginny turned around from the book self of joke books and stared at Dana as she began to talk more about this cousin of hers. Ginny's brown eyes widen a little as Dana mention that he was a Slytherin sixth year, "I'm sorry...I thought he was in Ravenclaw like you..." she began but cut herself short as Dana began talking about how Slytherin and Gryffindor students were somewhat alike. Brave, willing to fight for what they believe in is the words that came out from Dana's mouth. Ginny's chest heaved upward as she drawled in a breath and let it before speaking, "Dana I never really thought of Gryffindors and Slyhterins as friends or alike but enemy's. It's always been like that and I don't think it will change any time soon." Ginny said with a considerate smile. What she had said was true for many centuries because of each house aspects on life. Gryffindors didn't believe that pure-bloods were the best but Slytherins do. That what seemed to be the conflict and many more.
Ginny had seemed to be in deep thought of how Gryffindor and Slytherin students were alike and not so. But she was soon pulled back when Dana let out a little laugh about Kris not liking Pygmy Puffs. Letting out a little laugh Ginny let a big smile come across her face, "Yes but still there so cuddly and fluffy. You can stop by some time and be a special guest. We could also race them!" Ginny said getting quite excited about the subject. Ginny didn't even know if Dana would even get one. But she seemed like a person who might like them. "He set dogs on your date? Wow thats more cruel than Ron pestering them. Pink glider and a statue seems a prefect present for him. How about we add a green bow. Then he would really send you off to St. Mungos." Ginny joked with a giggle as Dana saluted her with having survive six brothers. "It's not that bad really. I don't have to worry about them using the bathroom to long. Well expect for Fred and George. Got to make sure they didn't take the toilet seat or anything. But tons of brothers are great. I'm never alone but sometimes I like to be." Ginny began walking out of the store and down the road.
The two walked down the road in silence. Ginny didn't really know what to say but just let her mind wonder on what else she knew about this girl. Dana seemed to know her perfectly but she really didn't know her. Stopping at the foot of The Three Broomsticks Ginny set her gaze from the sign to Dana, "Would you let to have a butter bear and talk. I have some time left before Ron comes looking for me." Ginny said waiting for her answer.

“What are you sorry for? Kris keeps arrogant bullies off from my back. Besides he’s a fun companion. At least to me he is. I’ve passed COMC so far thanks to him. He could be the best student there if he bothered to show up for class. Then again – he rather er… dislikes Hagrid,” Dana tried to pick some more gentler words. It was a known fact that the Weasleys – at least the Golden Trio liked Hagrid. Dana didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. “Can’t say I actually like the lesson myself either. Hagrid’s choice of animals we study is rather suspicious at times,” Dana muttered gloomily thinking back to the last COMC she had went too. Blast-ended screwts she had survived, but dragons? That had taken it a bit far for Dana’s nerves. Dana’s eyes returned to Gin with a twinkle of mischief in them: “You nknow I always get the same reaction from every Slyth and Gryff I’ve said they are alike. Yet, Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs think and don’t usually argue, even when they don’t completely agree either. Anyway I don’t think we can find agreement over that problem.” Dana listened to Gin speaking about her brothers with a smile. Being part of such a big family might have it’s bonuses. You always had someone to talk to for example. Dana thought about it a little as they moved forward. Big family had it’s bonuses, but so had a small family. “I guess the twins were fun while growing up. Still are. Not sure about wanting to share a house with them though. Not sure about the Golden Trio too – no offence, but I’m not a brave person. And something always seems to be happening around those three,” Dana thought out loud with a small grin, hoping Gin wouldn’t take offence of Dana calling Potter, Granger and Ron the Golden Trio, “I’m an only child, when not counting Kris. My grand-parents are his legal guardians, but he always lived in his own manor. I don’t really imagine having a such a large family.” “Sure, I have whole today to spend. We can talk, but I’ll pass out on the butterbeer and take coffee instead. What can I say – I’m addicted. The first ever spell I mastered in Hogwarts was how to turn other drinks into coffee. I can do that in my sleep now,” Dana told Gin with a chuckle as they turned towards the Three Broomsticks. Entering the pub Dana told a passing waitress that she wanted a cup of coffee before moving to a seat next to a window and waited for Ginny to settle herself too with her drink as Dana’s coffee arrived in a minute or two. Closing her eyes Dana enjoyed the warm drink. She always had liked Ginny. [shadow=blue,left,300]1,000th post[/shadow]

((Coagulations on your 1,000 post Dana!))
Ginny turned around swiftly toward Dana, her brown eyes narrowed upon her. Dana was talking about Hagrid and how her cousin dislike and and she didn't' quite like the class herself. The choices of magical animals was the reason. "Most Slytherins don't like Professor Hagrid and Ravenclaws as well. I know he picks quite..... Different animals for his lessons. But answer this question. Would you rather handle worms all day or face something exciting and nothing you could see everybody?" Ginny asked trying to clam herself down. Ginny never sometimes agreed to Hagrids choices of magical animals especially in her fourth year when Umbridge became Headmistress. Just the thought of her made Ginny angry. But she was gone now and the Ministry finally believed that Dumbledore was telling the truth all along about the Dark Lord. The subject soon changed back on the rivalry of Gryffindor and Slytherin houses. Ginny facial expression soften a bit and her angry subsided. "Yes and you probably going to get this expression until things change. But Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff founders didn't seem to have problems like Gordic Grffindor and Salazar Slytherin did." Ginny began tucking a strand of read hair behind her ears. It was a habit of her to do this quite often.
A smile formed on her face as Dana began talking about the twins. But soon latter her eyebrows raised as she mentioned about strange things always happening around Harry, Hermione, and Ron. "It's really wonderful to live with Fred and George. Something is always blowing up sending mum off the edge. But they are quite nice if you get on their good side." Ginny began her mind wandering back when Ron got the rank of Prefect. Fred and George weren't quite happy and always pulled some kind of prank on him and calling their baby brother Ickle Ronkins. "Golden Trio heh? That's something I haven't heard before and yes strange things do happen around them. But you have to brave to face your fears." Ginny said with a faint smile as Dana said she lived with her grandparents. "If you don't mind me asking what happened to your parents?" Ginny asked walking into The Three Broomsticks and taking a seat at a table across from Dana. A waitress had just walked by and Ginny asked for a butter beer awaiting for Dana's answer.

Dana didn’t show any outward emotion even though she sighed mentally. Ginny was attached to Hagrid as well. Looks like they found one more thing they didn’t agree on, but Dana’s eyes met Ginny’s calmly: “Handle flobber-worms? Well, it did give me time to revise for my next lessons. I’m fine with about half of the choices Hagrid makes for classes. But the dragons last time twisted my nerves up too much. First time I’ve ever ignored a professor and walked out of a class. There isn’t a brave bone in my whole body.” Dana shrugged and grinned at Ginny.
A chuckle escaped Dana’s lips as Gin talked about the twins and the smile adorning Dana’s face only widened when Gin’s eyebrows rose at the mention of the Golden Trio. “Golden Trio. Slytherin influences, I admit. Actually – promise not to get too mad at me – I have to admit you something more. Everybody knows your brother, Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, right? Hard not to know considering how many things they have been through/things that have happened to them. I call Hermione Granger Granger, your brother by his first name as it would create too much confusion otherwise. And I call Harry Potter Wonder-kid,” Dana took a sip of her coffee, choosing her words carefully as she looked at Ginny calmly, “It’s not to insult him. But calling him ‘Potter’ would be too Snape-ish, I don’t know him so couldn’t really call him ‘Harry’. So out came Wonder-kid. He can take it as a compliment actually.” Dana locked her eyes with Ginny’s and let silence stretch for a moment so the other girl would have time to process what she had just told her.
“I rather like your company, but I figured I should get this out of the way for future references. I understand if it bothers you, but I don’t mean it badly,” Dana added calmly before groaning and hiding her face in her hands, “Which reminds me that I don’t have a clue about what to do in Potions last year. Ever since that bloody dare where I had to state my undying love to Snape… he’s never going to let me forget it, is he?” Not really knowing whether to cry or laugh about the matter Dana peeked up towards Gin and gave a half-grin. She might as well laugh about it. Crying would only smudge her eye-liner.
Ginny asked about her parents and Dana looked out the window for a moment gathering words and thoughts. Her parents – speaking of her mom was always unpleasant. Dana had never met her, but she loved her grand-parents. And her mother had broken their hearts with running away and marrying without them knowing. “My parents are dead. Mother died at birth, father at duty in Iraq or wherever when I was 5. My mother ran away to marry and therefore didn’t get enough help to survive after birth. I have been raised my by grand-parents since the day I was born, so they are like real parents for me,” Dana told simple. She didn’t like the topic, but she didn’t shame it either. Nor was it important enough for her to feel sad about it. Besides Anna – their cook – had told Dana about her mother. She had been completely opposite of Dana. Dana had a much stronger character as everyone told her. “Grand-mother was in Slytherin. Grandfather in Ravenclaw. Mother went to Beauxbatons and I’m in Ravenclaw,” Dana shrugged calmly. Her family-tree was old and influential.
Her eyes returning to Ginny Dana smiled: “Can I ask you a question? Never actually Thought about this before? What do people call you? Ginerva? Ginny? Gin? Red? Firefly? Fireball? Something else?”

Post by Ron Weasley on Jul 31, 2005 8:44:01 GMT
Ron was rudely awoken from a nice dream by the sound of a explosion. The shock and surprise caused him to fall out of his bed and crash onto the floor. Ron groaned as he extracted himself from the bed sheet and slowly stood to his feet. He blinked groggily and ran a hand through his messy bed-head hair. Ron figured to try and tame the hair later. He was to tired at the moment. The smell of bacon drifted up into his room, signaling that breakfast was about ready. Ron staggered out of his room and made his way down to breakfast. Slumping into the seat next to Ginny. "Whats all the commotion about?" He asked her while he stretched and yawned. Ginny explained that it was a new invention from Fred and George, what else was new?
Ron leaned back as the pan floated to him and dropped some eggs and bacon onto his plate. Ron dug in just as his father stepped in from work. "Hey Dad." Ron said in greeting with a mouth full of eggs. Breakfast was over and like usual everyone went their separate ways for the day. Ron went back to his room and quickly got changed, finally managed to tame his hair, and grabbed his broom and headed outside. Ron practiced Quidditch with a special Quaffle they had bought, it had been enchanted so that it would fly out to the center of the field and than fly back and try to score a goal. Last year Ron had finally realized how good he was at keeper, it was just his nerves that got to him. He felt like he was making good headway on that problem. He would be ready for next year's Quidditch season.
Ron practiced for about an hour when his mother stepped out. "Ron! Ron come down here for a minute." Ron quickly caught the Quaffle as it tried to score again and deactivated it, than he flew down and landed next to his mother. "Yes mum?" After a quick conversation Ron agreed to escort Ginny to Hogsmeade. Ron didn't mind to much, it would be good to get out. He could bet that Ginny wasn't going to be happy about it.
A few hours later Ron stepped into the flames and stepped out in Hogsmeade. He turned and waited for Ginny to show up. Ginny stepped out and began to walk off, Ron moved to follow her. Ginny turned to him and snapped at him. It was best not to argue with her. Instead, he figured to follow her from a distance. Ron let her go off, he walked and made sure to stay a few shops away, but he kept Ginny in sight. Ron watched as Ginny ran into a girl. He knew that girl, Dana Coran, Ravenclaw Prefect. He had talked with her briefly, in that meeting she had given a 3rd year Slytherin a pair of bunny slippers. The two than went off together. Ron smiled, with Dana with her, Ginny would be completely fine and he wouldn't have to keep an eye on her.
Now that he was freed of his chore Ron stepped into the Quidditch store. Ron looked at the stuff on the shelfs. He had a bit of money so he managed to buy himself a basic broom care kit and a new pair of Quidditch gloves. Ron left that store and than headed over to Zonko's. He had seen Ginny and Dana enter it earlier, but they were already gone when he got there. Ron couldn't buy anything anymore for he had used most of his money at the Quidditch store, but he still had fun looking at the various objects on the shelfs.
Ron left the store, all this walking around made him thirsty. He walked over to the three broomsticks for a butterbeer. He might also get a chance to see, Rosemerta there also. Ron stepped in and looked around. He spotted Ginny and Dana, looks like he was in luck. He wouldn't have to hunt Ginny down before he went home. Ron made his way over to them. "Hey Ginny. Hello Dana. Hope you don't mind my interruption." Ron sat down next to Ginny. He set down his bags and stole a glance over toward the bar. "So, what have you two been up to?"

Ginny shifted her weight in her seat and settled herself to be more comfortable. The waitress came back and set a mug of butterbear in front of her. Taking the glass Ginny brought it to her mouth and started to drink while listening to Dana talk about about her friends. "It's OK. A lot of people feel that same way about them like you do. Well mostly everyone but thats alright. Harry and Hermione are really nice people and well Ron is just my older brother." Ginny said setting the mug back down on the table staring at Dana as she looked like she was about to cry. Ginny's face soften up as she pat her new friend on the back. But her eyes grew very wide as Dana told her she declared her undying love to Snape. "Unfortunately no Snape will never forget about it. But why on earth would you do a kind of dare like that?" Ginny asked patting her friend on her back once again before taking another sip of butterbear.
Soon later Dana began to talk about her family. Her mother died at birth and her father was killed in some place she never heard of. Then about her family how her grandmother was in Slytherin and her grandfather in Ravenclaw. "Wow...But I'm sorry about your parents...." Ginny said her voice trailing off not really knowing what else to say. Taking another sip of her butterbear Ginny smiled as the subject changed. "Most people call me Ginny or Gin. But never call me Ginerva. My mom only calls me that and sometimes the Professors." Ginny said answering Dana's question about her nicknames. Opening her mouth to speak again Ginny closed it as Ron sat down next to her. Looking at her older brother Ginny sighed and took another sip of her butterbear. "Nothing really Ron. Just went into a couple shops and Dana bought a couple things for her cousin. Have you two met before?" Ginny asked looking from both Ron to Dana.

Dana was glad that Gin didn’t mind the way she usually refrained to the Golden Trio. Well, she had a point in that referring way, so it was a relief. Dana laughed as Ginny patted her back and told her that Snape wouldn’t let her forget anything. “Well, it was a dare. I never back out form a dare. Usually I say before the game that I don’t want to kiss random grown-ups or professors at Hogsmeade. But I never back out from a dare,” Dana chuckled thinking back at that one specific truth or Dare game, “I even declared my love to him with a sonnet in the hallway in front of the Student lounge. Maybe the fact so many people saw and heard it was even bad.” Shaking her head Dana grinned at Gin, “Well, no point in wallowing about. I should rather take it from the positive side. Snape is so afraid I shall attack him with more love-poems or songs that he shouldn’t take any points from me in Potions. You think that might work if a batted my eye-lashes towards him in class?”
Dana grinned and enjoyed her coffee shrugging at Gin as she said she was sorry. Dana wasn’t, but she didn’t feel like explaining it right now either. “I’ll call you Gin then. Gin’n’Tonic. Nah, just Gin. I like Gin more than Ginny. Gin gives you amore mystical aura. Mystical, grown up, intriguing,” Dana smiled at Gin and looked up as Ron Weasley joined their table. Gin greeted her as he took a seat before asking if Dana knew her brother. “We met once. Briefly. I was hunting down Luna to yell at her for charming all my clothes to be either red or green to protect me from some fantastical creature. Gave your brother a quilt if I recall correctly,” Dana raised her coffee cup in cheers towards Gin, “With the red hair he could even pull off the ‘William Wallace scot’ look. It’s certainly an idea for some mask-ball.”

A waitress stepped up and Ron ordered a butterbeer. He turned back to the pair. "Sounds like a fun filled evening." He looked over at Dana. "Yes, I remember that day. You kept asking me if I wanted my robes changed into a quilt." Ron grinned as he recalled the day. "You also gave that Slytherin boy a pair of fluffy bunny slippers. He didn't seem to like that." Ron laughed at that memory remembering the look on the boys face.
"Yes, I suppose Luna has always been a bit......odd." He glanced up at Dana again. "You're in her year aren't you? It must be pretty strange sharing a dorm with her. I do believe I would have been driven insane by now if I was in your situation." Just than the waitress came back and set Ron's butterbeer down on the table. Ron took it and took a swig of it. He turned to Ginny. "So do you have more planned for today? Or are you ready to go home?"

Ginny started to burst out laughing on how Snape would act toward Dana. Sending him love notes, songs, and batting eyelashes. Ginny never heard a crazier thing in her life. Professor Snape was just awful and how could a person love him or even like him. OK maybe a Slytherin but it would never happen to a Gryffindor. "I'm sorry thats just funny. I would most love to see how Snape reacts. Might be losing points for Ravenclaw. But he seems to be a little fond of your house. He hates most of us Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs." Ginny said with a smile wiping some tears from her eyes from laughing so hard.
"Gin....I don't mind you calling me that. I consider you as a friend..." Ginny said taking another sup of her drink raising her eyebrow as the two started to talk about Luna. "That does sound something Luna would do. I am sure the Slytherin loved you gift Dana." Ginny comment with a giggling before staring at Ron and elbowed him in the side. "RON! Luna is our friend and you know you like her too." Ginny said with a smile before turning back toward the drink finishing it off. Ron had asked if she was ready to leave. "No I don't have anything planned. I think mum would wont us home before dinner." Ginny said standing up from the stool and setting down some money for the drink. "Well it was nice meting you Dana. Should do this more often." she said with a smile before stepping into the emerald flame off to home.

Dana grinned as she thought back too. Now that all her clothes were back to normal it was much funnier than it had been then. Green and red were pretty colours. But not if you wake up to see that absolutely EVERYTHING is those colours, including your things. “Eh, Pyro won’t mind irritating him from time to time. Besides if I had to suffer through that day, then most of my friends joined me. Voluntarily or not, but they joined me,” Dana gave a Slytherin-ishly proud smirk at that memory. She would be a Slytherin before being a Gryffindor. Slytherin was closer to her characteristics than Hufflepuff as well. Dana was a true Ravenclaw, but Slytherin would be most definitely her second choice.
“And you get used to Luna. It would be easier if she wouldn’t try to protect me at odd things all the times – unfortunately I seem to get most of her protection for some reason, but I’ve learned to pretty much ignore her most of the time,” Dana said with a shrug, before winking at Gin’s words about Snape but choosing not to comment. Watching the relatives communicate between themselves for a moment before they decided to leave. Standing Dana smiled at Gin: “It was nice talking to you. I’ll go and hunt down my cousin now. Maybe I can spoil one of his dates for ruining the last of mine.” Smiling and nodding at both Dana picked up her bag and left the Three Broomsticks.
