The day was warm. Not sunny considering the rather dark clouds in the sky, but warm. The wind was nicely refreshing too. But the day was most certainly warm. Stepping into a free-air café that had been opened in Hogsmeade for the summer Kris leaned against the railing as he eyed the line in front of him. It would take a good couple of minutes before his turn would come up. Turning around Kris eyed the surroundings from behind his sun-glasses. A new pair of them once again. Surprisingly many people were milling around. Actually not so surprisingly. With Diagon now closed after the attack Gringotts and practically all the stores had opened themselves up here for a while. It was expected for people to come shopping here now.
His eyes landing on a familiar blonde hair Kris smirked. He might as well amuse him a little while the line stood still. He could use some company and Mack would be a suitable candidate for company. Letting out a loud whistle Kris bowed over the railing and smirked as his and Mack’s eyes met. Well actually when Mack’s eyes concentrated on his sun-glasses as Kris’s eyes weren’t visible behind them. “Passing me by as if I don’t even exist? Especially when I’m wearing a new pair of sun-glasses?” Kris drawled out lazily. Clicking his tongue disapprovingly Kris placed his hand over his heart: “You wound me, Mackie-girl.” Knowing Mack didn’t like that nickname too much Kris just smirked back at her.

Out of the house. Into the semi-sunshine. Into Hogsmeade and straight to the formal robes store. Mack scowled. She hated that place. There wasn't anything she could do though, her parents wanted formal- and she had let Maddie talk her into agreeing, and she was going with formal. She sighed as she stepped out of the shop, her blond hair down in the curly locks and a pair of her sunglasses (her own, not Kris'. These ones were rose coloured) over her icy blue eyes.
Hogsmeade was a lot more crowded than usual, all because of Diagon Alley's attack. Mack should be used to the crowdedness of the place by now, with her frequent visits- but she wasn't. She couldn't get past the fact that the population in Hogsmeade was doubled, maybe even tripled, since the attack on Diagon Alley. Mack shoved past a few people out of the way. Trying to get to the other end of the village. But it was so tight, that someone shoved her; knocking her sunglasses to the ground and being trampled on. Mack looked at the person's retreating back, "Nice!" She yelled after them.
This put her in an even worse mood. So she wasn't exactly looking for someone to talk to. When she heard the whistle, and a familiar voice say a few words to her. Mack turned around and locked eyes, sort of, with Kris Graas. Mack let a smile cross her face and she walked back up the line; "Ooh! New glasses!" She said with a light squeal. She reached up and plucked them off his face, putting them on hers.
"Mine just got trampled, these'll do nicely. Much thanks." She hopped up on the railing and sat down on it, facing him. Ignoring the protests from the people behind about another person hopping the line. Mack glared at him through the glasses, "And don't even pretend that I hurt you- I don't have that kind of power..."

Kris smirked seeing Mack turn and walk towards him. Her reaching up and taking his sun-glasses wasn’t un expected either. Mack taking hi sun-glasses – why, it was almost tradition already. Squinting his eyes for a briefest of moment as the whole world seemed a whole lot lighter now that the black sun-glasses were away from his eyes, Kris smiled at Mack as she sat down on the railing. Placing his arms on either side of her Kris gave Mack a half-smile feeling rather comfortable. “So it’s just my glasses you cam here for? And I already thought it was my sunny personality,” Kris commented calmly turning on puppy-dog eyes that he directed towards Mack. The girl was fun. Kris could tease her and be answered with the same while both parties knew teasing was as far as it got. It was just amusing.
“Ah, Mackie-girl, you don’t have the power to wound me? Please, my dear, you just wounded me. I thought you came over because you had missed me, my charm, my absolutely gorgeous looks and wild locks, my skill with words and my just so overwhelmingly adorable personality. But you just reach for my sun-glasses. You really have a thing for sun-glasses, don’t you?” Kris asked with a completely serious face and tone. Being a Slytherin taught you how to control you how to control your visible emotions and tone of voice. And Kris had mastered the skill a long time ago.

Mack smiled; "Sunny personality, eh? Alright- I'll cave. I saw you and I couldn't resist being parted from you or your sunglasses any longer." Mack adored who she became when she was around Kris. She was just laid back and easy going. The only other person she could be that way with was Jack, and not even to these extremes...well...now she could. It was evident though, that all this was, was teasing. Nothing more. No strings attached. Which is why she always stole his sunglasses. Besides he had so many, why not share?
She let the sunglasses slip over the bridge of her nose, these ones were a bit big on her. Mack swung her legs back and forth as he stated she really liked the sunglasses. She put a face of mock surprise on and said, "Why, Kris?! Didn't you know?! Your sunglasses and I are to be married! I was sure I invited you to the wedding..." She sighed and pretended to look confused about it for a moment, but it instantly went away. She was never good at keeping a straight or acting face.

Kris smiled and gave Mack a quick wink as she admitted her inability to stay farther away from him. “Don’t worry, Mackie-girlie, considering my dashing looks I can assure you aren’t the only girl who is pining after me,” Kris answered calmly as his eye-brows lifted, “You are getting married to my sun-glasses? Which pair? And why haven’t I received my invitations to the party yet? I should be the one giving away the bride at this occasion, considering who the groom – or grooms – are.” Raising his hands from the railing Kris made a stern face towards Mack as he tickled her while being ready to catch her should the girl loose her balance: “Now, but you still haven’t given me a good enough explanation as to why I haven’t received my invitation yet?” The line moved forward and Kris followed it pulling Mack along, before tickling her a bit more as he waited for her reply. “You shopping for your bridal dress today then?” Kris asked with a quirked eye-brow.

Mack spread out her arms as if to say 'Ta Da', but let them fall to her side and hold onto the railing, "All pairs I have! Which is now, 3." Mack looked at him as she shoved the sunglasses up her nose. Before they could get in front of her eyes fully, however, she felt Kris tickle her. Mack hated being tickled. But she couldn't help, but laugh. She was afraid she would lose her balance- but held on tight enough to not lose it. Besides, she hoped that Kris was ready to catch her if she fell, hopefully.
Before she could answer about the invitation, Kris was pulling her forward because the line had moved forward. He continued to tickle her and she squealed while slapping at his hands, "Stoooop!" She said in a whine, "Do you want your invitation, Mr. Graas?" She raised an eyebrow at him and grabbed both of his hands so he wouldn't tickle her anymore, "I actually, was going to hand you your invitation personally. I just don't happen to have it now..." Mack situated herself on the railing again, still holding Kris' wrists, wondering how long she would be able to hold them.
Mack scowled at the wedding dress thing, "No, unfortunately, I think you and Mary should be there to help me pick out that dress. I actually came here to go shopping for my," She shuddered before continuing, "party dress."

Kris smirked upon hearing Mack laugh as he tickled her. What do you know – Kris mate a mental note about the fact that Mack was ticklish. He might have use for this little piece of information. Kris gave the girl a half-grin not caring what others in the queue might have thought of it. Letting Mack hold onto his wrist Kris lifted his legs a bit to gain better balance as Mack continued to hold his wrists. “Ah, at least I was going to be invited. Good girl. I’d give you a cookie if I had one,” Kris replied with an easy-going tone while tilting his head and fluttering his eye-lashes towards Mack, “Oh, a party? Oh, I have to go and find myself a suitable attire. And I have to make sure my hair looks fine. Oh, I’m so exited! DO you think I should dye my hair blond? Oh, and I’ve always wanted to be a red-head? Do you think it would suit me?”
Kris smirked and turned his hands so he was able to take hold of Mack’s wrist while she kept a steady hold on his. A quick pull and Mack was standing up again. Throwing an arm over Mack’s shoulders Kris nudged her to the counter as his eyes slipped over the things on sale. “Cappuccino and mint ice-cream. And a chocolate chip cookie,” Kris ordered before turning his head waiting to see if Mack would want anything. Dropping enough galleons on the counter to pay for both of their bills and leave a few sicles tip, Kris took the large cookie and handed it to Mack: “So what formal party are you going towards this time?” Their order arrived and Kris picked up the up of coffee as well as his ice-cream as he took a step back waiting for Mack’s reply.

"Remember, the cookie has to be chocolate chip, or else I will not eat it." She told him with a nod. She was very picky about her cookies. "And why wouldn't you be invited? After all, without you there'd be no wedding...don't you remember the first pair you gave me? It was love at first sight..." Mack pretended to swoon, but only a little.
Mack blinked at Kris, a couple of times before saying; "No...don't joke about that. I wouldn't bear the thought of you changing your gorgeous hair. But if you must, absolutely must, dye your hair...dye it something out there. Neon green perhaps?" She raised an eyebrow, completely serious about the neon green thing. She sent a mental scowl toward the red hair idea, she didn't like the colour red anymore.
A little bit lost in her thoughts, Mack didn't realise Kris had shifted his hands so he could pull her up with one quick jerk. She stumbled and would have fallen if she hadn't caught her balance in time. She sent him a quick glare before he threw an arm over her shoulder and nudge her to the counter. She looked at everything on the menu, but decided she didn't want anything. When he ordered the cookie, she smirked- "You were serious? Well, thank you anyway." She accepted it and began to take it apart a little at a time, then eat that piece.
"Formal birthday party...in one week. I wanted casual, but mum won't allow it. I don't get it, my birthday isn't even in the summer holidays! It's in February!" Mack shook her head and took another piece of her cookie. She nudged him with her elbow slightly, "You're coming right?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Neon-green,” Kris scratched his chin thoughtfully making a mental note to shave before the theatre in the evening, “Well, I think I might live with green. I can always have my hair flashing different colours should I feel the need to catch eyes. Not that I always don’t catch admiring eyes.” Kris decided with one more playful wink watching as Mack ate the cookie while breaking it into pieces. “Your birthday party when it isn’t your birthday? Why exactly are you holding it now?” Kris asked curiously. If the real birthday was in February, then this would just be a get-together. A party hosted by Mack. Not a birthday-celebration.
Arching an eye-brow back at Mack Kris replied: “I don’t know if I’ll be coming. Depends on when it is – I’m not free all of the summer. But since it’s not your birthday I will most certainly not be bringing a present for you should I come. Besides I haven’t gotten a formal invitation.” Kris leaned back and took a bite out of his ice-cream as he smirked back at Mack, “You still have so much to learn, Mackie-girl.”

"Yes. Party when it is not my birthday." Mack echoed with a light nod of her head. She found it odd, as well, but she wasn't exactly complaining. Her parents never celebrated anything for her, much less her birthday. She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair, brushing them out of her shaded eyes.
"My parents said something about a summer birthday, because they won't see me on my birthday. I don't understand, though. Because they never celebrate my birthday. It's always been held at Hogwarts- not at home." Mack concentrated on why they would be acting so kindly toward her now, but she didn't dwell on the subject for too long. For Kris had begun talking again.
She took another bite of her cookie and tilted her head at him, her eyebrows furrowed; "Oh...right, I forgot, you are Mr. Popularity. Everybody wants a piece of you over the holidays, my apologies." She snapped lightly, but instead of being even more snappy she continued; "It's in one week. At 3 in the afternoon. There will be formal invitations, but I figured since I ran into you- might as well invite you. And I don't expect presents, but I do on my birthday. A nice new pair of sunglasses."
"You still have so much to learn, Mackie-girl." He said. Mack glared at him and leaned against the wall as well, "Don't underestimate what I know, hot shot."

Mack started on the topic of her parents never celebrating her birthday. None of Kris’s facial muscle’s moved at the topic, nor did he comment. This topic was Mack’s personal business, that stayed inside family. Kris had no business to interfere with it. “A get together at your house hosted by you. Sounds good,” Kris calmly stated upon hearing more about the evening Mack was planning. An evening, or midday spent at her place wouldn’t be a bother. At least Kris didn’t think it would be. The conversation turned back to sunglasses and letting the current of the chat carry him, Kris just smiled: “A pair of sunglasses for your birthday? Well, if you wish so. I was thinking about giving you a couple of pairs, but if you request only one… I’m sure it could be arranged.”
Kris leaned back in his chair his eyes flickering to a passing girl calmly. One glance was all that was needed for Kris to assess the girl as he gave her a mental rating of 8.5. There should be some improvement considering her hair and clothing, but the overall impression was rather good. Taking a fresh bite of her ice-cream Kris enjoyed the flavour as his eyes traveled back to Mack at her snappish response. “Underestimate you? Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. And I most certainly have to desire to see any girl I know angry at me. It could be dangerous for my health. No, I never try to assume too much or to underestimate a girl. I’ve seen one to many of such angered woman to want to pull all that hatred onto my own precious person,” Kris replied with a smirk twisting at the corners of his lips.
