Fiona trudged half heartedly down the streets of Hogsmeade. She was wearing dark jeans and a sleeveless black blouse, but it was covered by her black cloak. A black pearl hung around her neck on a silver chain, it was the same necklace her mother use to wear. Her eyes were downcast and seemed to have turned a the colour of the sea after a storm. Her long wavy red hair blew in the wind.
Fiona's thoughts turned to the past week as she walked down the street clutching her Charms book. Her life had completely changed this last week. She was now alone, an orphan, living with her aunt and uncle until she was of age. It was then that she'd be able to inherit her parents money and house. Until then Fiona found herself forgetting her parents faces. It was hard for her to remember her mum or da and those were the days that made her sad. She looked up at the overcast sky. She wouldn't be surprised if it started to rain. She welcomed the rain because it was only then that people wouldn't realize she was crying. She pulled the hood of her cloak up around her face as the wind burned her eyes.
Fiona had wanted to get away from her uncle's for a while. She didn't tell them where she was going, she didn't even tell them she was leaving. She just grabbed her wand and her book. The Knight Bus was fast, but the rides were usually unbearable, today she didn't mind it though. Maybe it was because she didn't really care anymore. Not about the Knight Bus and not about life. Fiona felt the first few drops of rain and sighed. She might as well get out of it before it starts to pick up.
Dodging inside the next building, Fiona found herself in The Three Broomsticks. At least she could get something to drink while she was out. "Butterbeer," Fiona mumbled as she laid her sickles down on the counter. Madam Rosmerta gave her a worried look, but Fiona blew it off as she grabbed the Butterbeer and walked to the table in the darkest corner. She opened the bottle and took a deep drink. The refreshing drink seemed to revitalize some of her as she opened her Charms book. She figured it was the perfect time for some peace and quiet. However, that was not to be. Fiona didn't look up when she heard the voice speaking to her. She didn't care if it was Merlin, she didn't want to be interrupted on such a horrible day.
