Mandi smiled at Thien when he said she should demand a discount for testing their products. "Nay, I don't really care about that kind of thing," Mandi said as she shrugged. She wasn't a person to remember who did who a favor. She did them out of the goodness of her heart. She could careless if anyone ever helped her out. She just liked to help others out.

Flo was questioned about her summer and she replied about going to Australia which seemed to be her real home. Mandi smiled at the accent that Flo seemed to have. "Hanging out with friends is always a fun thing to do," Mandi said when Flo talked about how she had just been hanging out with friends so far this summer.

"My summer has been uneventful. I've pretty much just been trying to convince my dad that it's safe for me to go outside. After the attacks on the school last year, he's been really worried for my safety. I don't understand why. He's an Auror, I think it's more dangerous for him than it is for me. But hey I'm only 15 what would I know?" Mandi smiled as she shrugged. She knew her dad was only trying to protect her, but really he was starting to get on her nerves. She was old enough to know how to handle herself if she came up against the wrong people. Mandi took a drink of her Butterbeer before asking the next question. "So, what's your favorite subject Flo and to Thien since you don't attend Hogwarts yet, what is the subject that you think will be the most fascinating?"

Flo looked at Mandi as she told Flo about her father. Mandi asked what Flo's favorite subject was. "well i dont think i have a favorite, but i do like charms. thats always fun. Flo remembered the time she tried to do a spell and nearly ended cutting all of her hair off!! Flo smiled at the thought. even though it took her a year to grow it back. "well what about you Thien, do you have a fave subject?" Flo wanted to know Thein a bit more. She thought he was a little bit quiet.

"Hmm Australia? I wonder what it was like there." Thien said to himself, imaging himself there.

As Mandi talked about the attacks on Hogwarts it scared Thien a bit. "I've heard about some of the attacks on Hogwarts, is it really safe there?" Thien asked shamefully knowing that Hogwarts was one of the most safest place of all, but there has been attacks on it so he wasn't sure.

"Well from the list of books I need, I think I'll like Potions or maybe Tranformations. I dont know yet."

Mandi nodded with Flo when she said she liked Charms. "I enjoy Charms as well," Mandi smiled as she waited for Thien's reply. Mandi bit her lip as Thien asked if Hogwarts was still safe. In all honesty she doubted it, but that was being very negative. "You know, Thien. I'm not really sure any place is safer than the next. I think we're all on dangerous ground. But enough of dark times," Mandi replied. She didn't have to worry about the conversation going any further.

Thien began to talk about the courses he thought he would like. "Potions is very tricky and with Professor Snape you better hope you don't get on his bad side," Mandi said. Like he has a good side Mandi smiled at the thought, but didn't mention it out loud. It was better for Thien to believe he had a chance in Potions as apposed to nothing at all. "Transfiguration is my best subject other than Defense Against the Dark Arts. I enjoy most of my subjects though. I've kind of been labeled as a jack of all trades. I can do a lot of different subjects but my best are DADA, Transfiguration, and Charms," Mandi said as she smiled at the two. She really loved learning and was very excited about most of her subjects. A fleeting thought of her O.W.L.s flew into her mind, but she pushed it out as she heard someone start talking.

Thien smiled at Flo as she too seem to be enjoying her meal.

As they talked about the subjects they were taking Thien remember that he still had to go shopping for his school stuff. "Hey how about after this we can go shopping for things we need at Hogwart? I haven't done any of my shopping. And I have no clue where to begin." Thien said hoping that they'll join him and help him since its his first time, and he doesn't know what is needed or what is good to have.

Thien asked if Flo and Mandi wanted to go shopping after their meal. Flo thought it was a good idea. "Sure! I need to get a new bell for Squibbles. Oh Squibbles is my cat. He's so cute!!" Flo took out her purse and showed a picture of a brown and white tabby cat. "he keeps going after birds. he doesn't eat them, he just.. plucks their feathers out. my whole backyard is full of loose feathers!!" Flo twitched her nose. She does that often. Flo got it of an old muggle t.v show called Bewitched. It was about a witch who was in the normal world, and would perform magic by twitching her nose. Flo thought the show was silly. But she still liked it. Flo had gotten really good at twitching her nose, just like the witch,Samantha did. "so you guys ready to go?" Flo said finishing her food and standing up.

"It's a perfect day to go shopping!" Mandi replied with enthusiasm to Thien's question. She knew he wouldn't know what to get and some things would better done with older students. The ones who had already bought numerous supplies and found which ones worked the best. She took one last drink of her Butterbeer, which finished the bottle.

Flo pulled a picture out of her purse and Mandi looked at it. A cat was in the picture and Mandi smiled. She liked cats, but never owned one. Her parents were much into them and that kind of put her out of the luck in the area. "I have an owl. His name is Artemis. He's really quite a handsome barn owl," Mandi said making conversation.

Flo stood and asked if they were ready. Mandi grabbed her purse from beside her and stood as well. She was ready to go shopping. She had quite a bit of money saved up and didn't mind spending any of it. Of course she would have to worry about paying for her books later. But then again she had plenty of money stashed away in Gringotts to allow her to live quite nicely for the rest of her life. She smiled at Flo, "Ready."

They all agree to go shopping. Thien was very excite to go shopping with his new friends. Thien pushed away his plate. And left money and a tip. "O.K I'm ready. Oh I have a cat too, her name is Owen, but I don't have a picture of her. I'll show you her whenever you girls want."

"So where should we go first?"

Flo watched the others as they finished their meals. Kadan asked where they should go. Flo had no idea, except the pet shop, but she could do that any time. Flo wanted to do something fun, and that woud make her laugh. " I don't know, Mandi what about you?"

Mandi looked at the other two for a few minutes. There wasn't too much to actually shop for in Hogsmeade. Diagon Alley would have most of the supplies that Thien would need, but there were several small things he could get here. Mandi's eyes brightened as she thought about the first stop they should make.

"Well, you don't exactly need this stuff, but it's fun stop," Mandi smiled as she tried to get their curiosity up. "I mean, it's a fun place and it has lots of fun items that can be used to pester just about anyone or make them laugh, whichever one comes first." Mandi laughed at herself for being so mean. They really did want to know and Mandi was enjoying not telling them. "Okay, okay, it's Zonko's. I love that place and there are so many good jokes. We could then stop by to get you some quills and parchment. But most of the other stuff that's on your list will be in Diagon Alley. So you'll have to wait to get the majority of the stuff. Like your wand." Mandi looked at the other waiting to see if they wanted to go to Zonko's. She figured they probably would after all they were all in the need for some excitement and laughter and Zonko's seemed to be the winner for that kind of stuff.

"Ooh, i love Zonkos! yeah lets go there. What do you think Thien?" Flo hoped Thien would agree to go to Zonkos. Flo was hoping to get back at her brother and this seemed like the perfect way to do that. Maybe she could get some dung bombs and set them off in his room. No, Flo thought, i couldn't do that, my parents would kill me! Then she thought of just looking in th shop and seeing what was there. It seemed like the perfect idea.

Thien stood there watching the two decide on where to go. Then Mandi finally said Zonko's, "Sure sounds like fun." Thien said. And then they were on there way, windowshopping as they went along. Thien was in no rush to get the things he needed he just wanted to enjoyed the rest of his summer for now.

Mandi smiled as they all agreed to go to Zonko's. "Perfect!" she said as she lead the way out the doors of The Three Broomsticks and down the deserted streets of Hogsmeade. It was unusually deserted today, but it seemed that after the attacks at the school things she began to go downhill from there. People didn't tend to let anyone go out by themselves anymore or even go out themselves unless necessary. Mandi pitied them. With the way they were acting it was like Voldemort already won. She looked at the other two.

"It's sad that everyone seems to stay inside on nice days just because their scared of Voldemort," Mandi said and before she realized it she clamped her hand over her mouth. She hadn't intended on using his name. She never used his name, sure she had been thinking his name recently since she had heard Dumbledore and Harry use it often, but she never thought she'd actually use it. "I'm sorry. I can't believe I just said that. I've never..." Mandi stuttered. She was wide eyed and had stopped in the street. She couldn't believe that she had said it. It was a shock and more than ever she really needed to get to Zonko's so she could stop thinking about it. Breaking into a false smile Mandi shrugged. "I guess nothing bad happened to me so it's okay." She watched the others for their reactions.

As they were walking Mandi said something that both surprised and scared Thien, she said He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's name. Then she just shrugged it off because nothing happened to her. Then Thien started to wonder was it because of years learning at Hogwarts made her confident in her abilities to not fear He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. This intruded Thien to really want to learn what Hogwarts has to offer so he too can live without fear.

Flo watched Mandi as she clamped her hands over her mouth, after saying "he-who-must-not-be-named" name.Flo shrugged, if she wanted to say the word, she could say it, Flo wasn't going to stop her. They kept on walking, and reached Zonko's. All of the bright colors. They were fantastic! Trick wands, that explode in your hand! Dung bombs, that left a disgusting smell when thrown.

"Wow, this place has sure changed last time I was here. It looks so different!." Flo was still gazing around, looking at all of the younger wizards playing with the jokes. "Hey, you break, you pay for it!" called one of the owners in the shop. Flo knew this person, his name was Gaven. Flo knew him because he was a good friend of her dads. They both went to Hogwarts together. "Hey Gaven, don't be so tough on him, he's only little." Flo called, as the little boy started to cry. "Fine he can have it. You dad always would be able to do that too, your dad did. Always told me be calm, Gaven, be calm, yeah well I-" Gaven trailed off as he left the room. Flo laughed." So, lets shop!" Flo cried out throwing her hand in the air.

Mandi was glad the others didn't ridicule her for saying Voldemort's name. She was so use to cringing at the sound that it felt weird that she had actually said his name. She shrugged off the feeling of dread. She knew that nothing bad was going to happen at the moment and that's all that she cared about.

Mandi joyfully walked into the shop with the others. She had been here not long ago, it seemed to be the place she always ended up at. She made her usual rounds to the dung bombs and joke wands. She loved playing pranks on the first years. They were so easy to manipulate and prank. Though, she wasn't mean about it either. She was nice to everyone and that was one of her faults. Sooner or later it would come back to her in a bad way. Mandi smiled as she watched Thien and Flo look around the shop. "What do you think, Thien?" Mandi asked with a small laugh. She figured he loved the place, but wasn't going to make assumptions.

They all keeped walking and finally made it there. The place was filled with little kids not much older then Thien. Thien took a look around the place was great, Thien thought that a wizarding clown would have a field day in here. "I think this place is awesome. I want to try that Back-Firing-Wand." Thien exclamed. "What about you? You getting anything?" Thien asked.

Flo listened to Mandi ask Thien about what he thought of Zonko's. Flo smiled at his reply. Flo had said the same, when she first step foot into the shop. "The back-firing wands are the best. I got my little brother with one of them. It was hilarious." Thien looks like he's having fun, Flo thought. Good for him. Everyone deserves a bit of excitement once and a while.

Thien asked what she and Mandi were going to get. Flo thought she would get her brother by getting him with dung bombs, but she changed her mind when she saw something different. She looked at the sign. "Hand buzzers: Pretend to shake your friends hand, and buzz them!!" Flo had seen them in muggle joke shops. Hmm, they must be running out of good ideas, so there using muggle jokes. Flo laughed at this thought.

"I'm going to check out the rest of the muggle tricks. Might be something good there." Flo said with an evil twitch in her eye. "I still want to get back at my brother.What about you Mandi?" Flo asked Mandi, so she will know where to find her and Thien after buying her jokes.
