Robert yawned as he walked out of Catalina’s Cubby in Hogsmeade. He’d been working there all morning and now that his shift was over, he was glad to be able to do some shopping. He felt his pocket for money. Robert’s parents were fairly wealthy and always made sure that Robert had plenty of wizarding money to spend. It helped that he got a little money from busing tables. “Hmm, now where should I go first?” Robert quietly said to himself as he scanned some nearby shops. Though he was in Ravenclaw, he didn’t spend nearly as much time studying as he did hanging out and joking with people. But he did like to read books. Fictional books with action and adventure were his favorites.
Robert walked into a bookshop that seemed very old and browsed the selection of books. All of the shelves were dusty and there were a lot of old women standing and whispering in the back of the shop. Robert walked around a little more, occasionally pulling out a book that sounded interesting from the title on the spine of the book. He came across a book, that unlike most of the other books in the shop, had a bright colorful pucture on the cover. It was a very thick and slightly old looking book with a picture of a large medieval sword and a young girl holding onto the sword tightly with a serious look on her face. Robert examined the first page of the book. There was a summary that made the book sound like it would be one Robert would like. It was about a fourteen year old girl who had to take a mysterious and magical sword back to its maker in hope that he would know how to destroy it. Thieves who had stolen the sword used it to massacre towns and steal what was left. The girl’s town fought until everyone died. Though the thieves were greatly outnumbered, they always won because of the enchanted sword. Everyone died but the girl in a bloody war, even the thieves. She swore to avenge her family by destroying the sword. This was much easier said than done because the sword seemed to be indestructible. The only person who could help her is the name engraved on the sword. She believes that he’s the creator and can help her destroy the sword so she can start a new life on her own and put the rest of it behind her.
Robert decided that that the book seemed to be worth the money, as it seemed to be a bit like the Muggle book, Lord of the Ring. He paid an old man at the front counter who looked like he was about to fall asleep for it and walked right out of the shop with the book held loosely in his right hand. He couldn’t wait to read the book. He was walking to Zonko’s Joke Shop when two little kids playing tag ran into him and knocked the book out of his hand. He stopped to pick it up, but as he turned around looking for it, someone who was walking accidentally walked right into him. He fell to the ground and hastily said, “Sorry, sorry.” He brushed the dirt off of him with his hands and looked up to see who had bumped into him. It was a girl much older than him who Robert remembered was in Hufflepuff. “I’m so sorry,” he repeated.
