Dana exited the tailors parlor after giving her measurements for a couple of pair of pants and shirts and looked around contently. Not too many people were milling around even though the summer evening was pleasantly warm and nice. Smoothening out her short jean-miniskirt and checkered blouse with red and beige Dana decided that the sun wasn’t too bright anymore, so she didn’t need her sunglasses. Deciding that it was time for a quick lunch – or dinner, considering it was fairly late – Dana turned towards the Three Broomsticks. She had merely taken two steps, when Dana turned on her heel. She was in mood for something fancier today.
Moving down the street fairly quickly Dana made a quick detour through a book store – before moving to a rather fancy restaurant in Hogsmeade. Getting a table quickly –Dana was known to leave nice tips, so she was always served quickly – Dana leafed through the menu. Deciding on salmon Dana placed her order and then looked at the books she had bought. One about mythology and the second one Dana took out. The books content balanced between Dark Arts and jinxes still allowed in the magical world so it promised to be fairly good. Besides Dana wasn’t afraid of the Dark Arts. In her opinion you had to know something to fight it.
Taking a sip of her mineral water Dana opened her book and let her eyes travel down a list of spells described in the book. She knew about three quarters of them, but there were some that sounded rather... strange… to say the least. Knowing that it would some time before her ordered dish would arrive Dana opened the book on a page that described one of the curses she didn’t know from earlier and started reading.

Cole walked down the the calm streets of Hogsmeade. He had chosen to come to here instead of Diagon Alley because it wouldn't be as crowded. He was wearing a black T shirt with a pair of Jeans. Looking around he saw the happy couple walking hand in hand. Cole put a despised look on his face. Looking away he rolled his eyes. Cole didn't find this display of affection disgusting, on the contrary he was jealous. Cole was dying to find a relationship like that. He had searched for the right girl. He had found he once but she had to leave. Thinking of her made coles face turn from despise to despair. Shaking his head Cole walked into a book store and looked around curiously.
Cole walked over to a book shelf looking for a book of powerful spells. Looking through the different books he thought he finally saw one he liked. "Advanced Spells, Jinxes, and Curses." Cole read aloud. Grabbing the book Cole walked to the counter to pay. He saw a book on legilimency. Cole had been trying to read any book on the skill for he wanted to start studying it. Cole didn't have this book so he grabbed it and threw it on the counter with the other book. Paying for the books Cole grabbed the bag and walked out into the streets. The sky had began to clear and the sun shone in his eyes. Putting his hand over his eyes he began to walk towards a restraunt he knew about.
Walking in he felt the cold air hit his face. Cole walked up to the bar and sat on a stool putting his bag on the floor. "Butter Beer." Cole said to the bar tender. Cole turned around to look at the people who were already in there. He saw a young couple sitting in the corner. Cole put on another despised look and looked away. Then he saw a girl named Dana sitting by herself. Cole smirked and couldn't help but think about her being a Ravenclaw. But then Cole remembered how some of the Slytherins were freinds with her. "Maybe she isn't to bad." he thought. Then he shook his head. "No shes a Ravenclaw." The conflict inside himself was killing him. Looking at the bartender he said "Could you send a butterbeer to that girl please." Cole watched as the bartender went over and he looked to see what Dana would say.

The curse Dana was reading about didn’t seem very pleasant. But it sounded very effective. Dana would have to try it out sometime on some piece of wood. Taking one more sip of her mineral water Dana flipped forward some pages and continued reading. Just then the bartender approached Dana holding a bottle of butterbeer out for her: “A present from the young gentleman near the bar.” “Couldn’t he have sent me something that would actually suit the dish I ordered?” Dana asked out her first flash of though as she looked at the bartender and the bottle, “Or something classier like white wine to go with salmon, perhaps?” Sighing Dana turned to look but didn’t notice anyone familiar at first glance. Letting her eyes slip over the guests again Dana looked at Cole Waters thoughtfully. What did she know about him? He was a Slytherin, in Dana’s year and played quidditch. Not really a specific reason why he should send Dana a bottle of butterbeer.
Shrugging Dana turned around again and looked at the bartender who seemed to feeling a bit uncomfortable and not knowing what to do with the butterbeer. “Leave it,” Dana said with a shrug, “Say thanks to the guy, but if wants to talk or my attention, then he has to come here himself.” The bartender seemed relieved that he didn’t have to take the bottle back – Dana figured it would have been rude to send it back, so she didn’t start making a fuss about a bottle of butterbeer – and after placing the bottle on the table hurried off after assuring Dana that her food would arrive shortly. Shrugging at the momentary disruption Dana returned to her book and flipped pages, trying to find the curse she had started to read about.

Cole watched as Dana scanned the crowd and finally looked at him. She looked away angrily and started talking to the bartender. "I've never gotten that reaction." he thought to himself "I am a Slytherin though." he thought. Turning around he took a sip of his butterbeer. The bartender came back and told him that she said Cole needed to approach her himself. Smiling Cole to the last sip of his butterbeer and looked at the bartender. "Send my next one to the table I'm going to go over there." Cole smiled and grabbed the bag of books by his side and stood up looking at Dana. He didn't know much about her except she played quidditch. She was a pretty good Seeker compared to the rest of the players in the school. She wasn't bad.
Cole walked over to her and without asking he sat down in the chair across from her. Cole read the cover and said "Those curses are a bit dark for someone like you aren't they?" Smiling Cole took out his book on legilimency and began to read it. Looking over the top of the book he was looking to see if Dana had even noticed him sitting down. "Which one are you reading about?" he asked curiously.

Dana had had barely time to find the page with the curse she had been reading before the bartender interrupted her, when that sixth year Slytherin walked over. Without even greeting her or asking Dana’s permission he just pulled out a chair and sat down. Arching an eye-brow at the rudeness, Dana didn’t bother to comment and instead turned back other book until the Slytherin started to talk. "Those curses are a bit dark for someone like you aren't they?" came the question as the boy opened his own book while staring at Dana over it.
Dana looked up and arched an eye-brow lazily: “Someone like me? And what exactly am I like then?” Despite being a prefect, Dana didn’t assign detentions too often. It wouldn’t feel fair, since she herself was constantly out after hours as well. Dana couldn’t be taken as a goody-two shoes, nor was she too careful about Hogwarts rules, but she might as well make sure the Slytherin knew where exactly she stood. Just in case. “The book isn’t forbidden or I wouldn’t be reading it here. Besides how could I fight a curse from here, if I don’t know the curse? And I doubt Death Eaters would give me much time to think.”
Dana looked at Legilimency book the boy was reading and smirked coldly. She knew bits and pieces what her grandparents had told her and what she had learned herself from books. The boy should still have a long study ahead of him before she might start thinking about actually using the power. “I was reading about a curse that supposedly skins you to the flesh,” Dana commented calmly and smiled pleasantly, “It’s rather interesting actually. Maybe I should try it out on some Slytherin badgering me some time? Or someone rude.” The last words were accompanied with a pointed look towards Cole, before Dana lowered her eyes. The spell was gruesome. At least the picture about it and the description were. Dana wasn’t completely sure she would just use it that simply against someone bothering her. Then again – when mad enough and constantly bothered… who knew. She had a very volatile character.

Cole smiled as he knew he had gotten Dana's attention with the comment. "Well someone like you." Cole said smiling at her. "With first glance I would have to say, smart, nice, caring, and very against any Dark Arts." Cole laughed after saying this and took a sip of his butterbeer. This was what usual happened when he talked with anyone that wasn't in his house. They fought argued then fought some more. He was used to it and actually like getting on peoples nerves. Looking down he kept reading the last paragraph of the page. He couldn't believe a Ravenclaw was reading about dark spells. He guessed it was more believable then a Gryffindor.
"Well I assumed the book wouldn't be forbidden or you wouldn't have been able to purchase it here in Hogsmeade." Cole said smiling. "And I agree to fight a curse you need to know about it. But as for the Death eaters using one of those curses, I'm sure every now and then they would use one but I think it's safe to say that there are really only three main curses they use. You know what they are." Cole said with a smirk on his face.
Cole listened to what she said about the curse she was reading about. He had heard of it from one of his fathers Friends. It was a very brutal curse. When she said she should use it on a Slytherin or someone rude Cole laughed and said "Well than you better use it on a young Slytherin because all the older Slytherins I know can easily defend themselves against that. As for someone rude, you better hope they aren't as powerful and good looking as me." Cole laughed and looked at Dana and said "Do you think you would be able to use that curse? I mean have the guts to. It takes alot to hurt another human you know."

Dana raised her eye-rbows at the description Cole gave about her. None of them would be a word she would use about herself if she had to describe herself but she didn’t bother to argue. The boy could think what he wanted. “Of course you can buy forbidden books in Hogsmeade. Gobler lane. A store’s backdoor – tap the correct code and you can have the books,” Dana muttered absent-mindedly. She had learned about it from her Slytherin cousin and had let Kris take her to the store once. “They have a marvelously kept Copy of the Centuries Darkest Spells,” Dana muttered – the book was rather rare and therefore valuable. Dana herself had a copy at her home manor in the library or she would have bought it.
At the talk about Death Eaters Dana eyed Cole coldly: “Crucio I can handle for some time. Imperio – I have a strong enough mind to break the spell slowly. Kedavra I won’t have a chance with as I’m not Wonder-kid, so I’m not even bothering with that. As for older Slytherins – I beat a Slytherin sixth year – starting his seventh year now – in duel this year. I think I would be able to have some influence on older people as well.” Dana recalled the duel she had had and gave a smirk that would honour a Slytherin. She enjoyed that memory and seeing an older Slytherin loosing his temper. It was a rare thing to see, which made it all the more pleasurable.
The waiter brought her ordered dish and after a momentary hesitation Dana decided to get a glass of white wine after all after letting her driver know to come and pick her up later. Glancing at the unopened butterbeer bottle Cole had sent her earlier, Dana smirked – was she really supposed to be swooned by one bottle of a drink she didn’t even adore all that much? Thinking of Cole’s question, Dana shrugged: “I value my life enough to kill for it, should the need ever arise. I’ve been trained by the best so when I feel threatened I just react, without thinking. I’ve sent a burglar into the hospital in France, so I can stand the sight of hurting someone.” Calm eyes observed Cole over the glass as Dana tasted her wine, before digging into her food: “And you? Would you be able to attack to kill?”

Cole was surprised about the book store Dana was talking about. He hadn't heard of it. "I'm impressed you know something I don't" he said smirking. Cole leaned back in his chair as he listened to Dana talk about the curses she could handle. Smirking Cole couldn't believe what he was hearing. It was possible she could be that strong but alot of times most people exaggerate their abilities. Shaking his head Cole said "First of all You may be able to handle Crucio but when you get hit by it from a real powerful wizard time and time again, you will loose it. Second you may be able to break some peoples Imperio but if the Dark Lord gets you with it I don't care how strong you think you are, you aren't getting out. Finally you are right no one can stand against Kedavra except our own celebrity."
Cole leaned in a little closer and listened to what she said about the older Slytherin. "Well tell me who this Slytherin was and I will be sure to curse him myself for losing. " Cole said shaking his head in disgust. Then Dana started talking about how she would kill to save her life. Cole listened to her. He could understand killing to save your life. Then she asked him. Cole looked at her in a serious manner and said "I will kill to save my life, to gain power, or to get someone out of my way. Inflicting damage on another human is not a problem for me." Cole looked Dana straight in her eyes to let her know he was being serious.
Cole started to think of The Chosen. His group of Slytherins that practiced dark arts. They all knew he wasn't afraid to hurt someone. Why else would he start that group? Just then a waitress went by and Cole waved her down and said "Could you get me a steak medium rare with mashed potato's." Cole was starting to work up an appetite so thought he would get something to eat. Grabbing the unopened bottle of butterbeer he opened it and said "Well if you are going to be rude and not drink my free drink I will." Cole tipped the bottle up and took a gulp and set it on the table. "So how is Quidditch going for you?" Cole said with a smirk on his face.

Dana shrugged carelessly: “I’m not going to let my precious self close enough to Voldemort or his closer circle to get hurt by him.” Dana sent an annoyed glance at a waitress who jumped at the name, dropping the dishes she was carrying with a clatter. She wasn’t afraid to say the name – she had been born in France, where Voldemort’s horrors weren’t known that widely and as a kid her grand-parents had always told her the name. Dana wasn’t trying to be brave at saying the name – she just hadn’t know the other way until she moved to England. Dana brushed the thought of those curses away – hopefully she would never have to deal with them. And if she had to, then she could worry about it then.
Cole asked the name of the lost Slytherin and Dana shrugged: “He’s name doesn’t matter.” Dana responded to Cole’s look when he said killing and harming didn’t bother him calmly. She wasn’t scared of it, but she didn’t like it either. Life was a precious gift. Dana supported lethal punishment for some crimes, but there were limits. “I guess everyone has their priorities,” Dana finally decided and returned her attention to her food. This interested her much more.
A smirk reappeared on Dana’s face at he mention of butterbeer as she looked at Cole: “Sorry, but it takes a whole lot more to impress me than a bottle of butterbeer.” Raising her glass of wine towards Cole in mock salut Dana took a sip, “Learn to treat a lady with what she deserve first and then I might react differently. And quidditch is good. Especially since I learned to fly only at the beginning of this year. Still have trouble with landing, but I can always ask help from some cutie. Slytherin team did rather good this year. You played – keeper, right? From your question I presume you have bigger plans considering quidditch?” The words were accompanied with only one searching glance towards Cole, as Dana concentrated on enjoying her food. She had always had a very healthy appetite even when it luckily didn’t show in her figure.

Cole listened as Dana talked about not getting close to the Dark Lord. "You are brave saying his name. Many of his followers will kill you for using his name freely." Cole said in disgust. What made her think she knew the Dark Lord so well she had the right to use his name. When she said that everyone has their own priorities Cole looked at her and said "Why yes I would say so." Looking at the book he had opened he closed it and put it back in his bag. He grabbed the butterbeer and downed the rest of it. He put the bottle on the table and looked at Dana with a curious smirk. He did not understand her. She wasn't scared of him yet she wasn't like most Ravenclaws either.
When she made a comment about the butterbeer Cole looked at her and let out a loud laugh. "Well I will be sure to ask a girl that I don't know and am not sure if I will get along with what she prefers to drink next time." Cole said smiling widely. When Dana talked about quidditch Cole started to get a little nicer. He lover quidditch and would talk about it to anyone. "Yes I heard you only learned to fly at the beginning of the year but I thought it was supposed to be some way of the other houses to intimidate me." Cole said smiling. "Well I'm sure that there is some handsome player who wouldn't mind giving you private lessons on how to stop. Yes we did do good this year. We have an older team though. Mostly 6 years. I played keeper yes." Cole said smiling.
Just then the waitress brought him his food. Cole picked up the knife and cut off a piece of his steak and put it in his mouth. "Why yes I do have bigger plans." Cole said after he swallowed. "I plan on playing in the English summer league. I also plan on playing pro when I get out of school. I already have a deal with the Foul Mouth Falcons. All I have to do is keep playing. How about you. What are you doing after school?"

Dana’s eyes flashed as she looked at Cole. She didn’t like Voldemort. But this was a Slytherin she was talking to, so Dana took a few moments to reword her thought to something a Slytherin would understand better. Or actually something thatwould grate a Slytherins pride more. Dana had enough friends in Slytherin to know when to hit and where it would hurt more to hit. “I don’t think he deserves the title ‘lord’. He lost to a mere infant, didn’t he? Oh, and he did it again in Potters first year. And wait – did he loose again after the Triwizard tournament when the goblet turned out to be a portal key?” Dana asked with a sweet smile. Rumors of these occasions had traveled wildly about the school. Wondering if Cole could find something original to say against these facts, Dana took a bite out of her fish again.
Dana grinned thinking of Quidditch: “I literally flew into some guy on the Quidditch pitch one day. Accidentally. He was shocked, but helped me down my broom and asked me out. Was a boring date though.” Listening to Cole’s plans Dana kept an observatory eye on him. He seemed friendlier when the topic turned to quidditch. More relaxed somehow. Or at least a whole lot more passionate about quidditch. “Foul Mouth Falcons. They’re a british team, right? So you’re going to play with them immediately out of school? Or do you get to practice with them during summer as well?” Dana asked. She knew quidditch rules now being on team and captain of Ravenclaw – Dana still wasn’t completely sure how or why she had became captain, but she didn’t know other professional team.
What would Dana be doing after school. Now that was an easy question. “Taking over family business. Julien and Meredith don’t have too much time for it now because of the elections and all,” Dana stated simply. Elections were over already actually and Julien was the new Minister of Magic in France, so Dana had some privileges in France whether she asked for them or not, “Julien and Meredith are my grandparents.” Dana looked straight at Cole at these words – Julien and Meredith Graas were very well known in the magical world, but few people in England connected them with Dana. Her mother had ran off and died at giving birth, so actually it had been Julien and Meredith raising her, but Dana wore the last name of her biological father – some weak, but pureblooded – wizard from Sweden. “Taking over family business, maybe picking up a job at the French Ministry considering relations with different countries – I’ve always been good at diplomay.”

Cole took a bite out of his steak as he listened to Dana talk about the Dark Lord. Cole was angered at the fact she didn't give him credit where credit was due but Cole wasn't as servant of the Dark Lord and might not ever be one. Smirking at the remark Dana made Cole shook his head and said "Well yes he did lose to Wonder Boy a couple of times, but Harry had help every single time. If it had not been for Dumbledore in the ministry of magic in two years ago the Dark Lord would have killed Harry then." Coles father knew Bellatrix Lestrange and since she came over once in a while he heard the story from her.
Finally getting off the topic of the Dark Lord, Cole listened as Dana talked about Quidditch. Cole laughed at the story of he flying into a guy and said "Yeah it sounds like you do need to work on your landing." When she asked about the Falcons Cole looked down at his plate then back at her. "Well It's a complicated situation. I turn 17 in September this year. Well I will only be in my 6th year because my mom didn't want me to be the youngest in my year so she started me late. Well I can start playing in September if I want because I will be of age but my mom doesn't want me to miss 2 years of school and I don't want to leave in my 6th year either. I think I'm going to play in my 7th year." Cole said explaining everything.
Cole listened as she explained about the family business. He had heard of Julien and Meredith but didn't know Dana was connected to them. "Well that sounds interesting." Cole said. He actually never thought of any job at any as interesting. Cole finished up his steak and looked at Dana. "So how's your food?" he asked.

The ministry was brought out and Dana just shrugged. Wonder-kid was a sixth-year – 7th year now – so naturally he wouldn’t be as good as professional aurors against just anyone. Voldemort was just a special case, Dana figured. It was a dark topic and deciding on the glances sent towards them from other tables, Dana decided to drop the subject. She knew what she believed in and wouldn’t be converted into believing other ways. “Depends from the point of view. For example someone may accuse you of eating sweet little Bambi right now and become vegetarians,” Dana nodded towards the steak Cole was eating, “I just see a nice piece of meat that probably tastes good too and decide to enjoy eating Bambi some other day myself. It’s all in the point of view. The same about Voldemort – you either follow him or fight against him. Just how you decide to look at him.”
Dana listened attentively to Cole’s plans with the quidditch team. Bludgers weren’t Dana’s favorites at all so she personally wouldn’t want to play the game professionally. Maybe it was a vain reason, but Dana didn’t want to spoil her looks because of some loose bludger. “Play in your 7th year? Do you mean drop out of school and play professional? I’m not sure at all you’d be allowed to play professional quidditch next to Hogwarts. Besides – with classes and homework, where would you find time for practice?” Dana asked curiously with raised eye-brows.
Dana couldn’t suppress a smirk at what Cole said about her choice of future careers. Obviously the boy didn’t like them. “Yes, it’s interesting. I have enough patience to talk to humans and verbal manipulation can be fun. And verbal manipulation is exactly what diplomacy is – besides I can gain respect, wealth and influence through it. Not planning on taking over the world – one human would never accomplish such task – but some influence and power never hurts. So yes, I find it interesting. And the fish was good.” Dana leaned back and raised her hand only to have their table approached a few moments later by a waiter. “I want chocolate cake,” Dana ordered as her plate was taken away and a few moments later a relatively large piece of chocolate cake was brought. Picking up a leaf of chocolate Dana ate it and enjoyed the taste. She had seen girls whine about eating so much here, especially the chocolate. Dana didn’t get it – she liked food too much to never bother with diets, yet it never showed on her body exactly how much she ate. A blessing really.

Cole listened to Dana talk about point of views. Cole didn't agree with what she was saying but he knew that they would be there forever arguing about it so he looked at her and said "Yea I guess." Cole was a stubborn person but knew when it was time to end a discussion. A waitress came and took his plate and Cole asked her if she would bring him a piece of pumpkin pie. A few minutes later it was there. Cole took a bite of it listening to Dana talk about his idea about playing Quidditch. "Well see the thing is that in my 7th year I will be 18. I feel that I will be good enough to play Pro someday and so do alot of coaches I talk to. What I'm saying is drop out after my 6th year and play on a minor league team for a year or two and then move up. By me dropping out it will eliminate school work so I can practice whenever I want. The Weasleys did it." Cole said taking another bite of his pie.
When Cole listened to Dana talk about the Carree choices she was thinking about he couldn't help but smile. "Yea I have no patience, especially for humans." Cole said laughing. "I wouldn't be able to take idiots asking the same question over and over." Cole took a sip of his butter beer. When she said she wanted to gain power and respect Cole smiled. "Yea I hear you on that one. I want to play pro so bad. I mean I don't need the money my family already has it, but I keep imagining walking through Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley and having little kids walk up to me and ask for my autograph or walking into Cats cubby and seeing a replica robe with my name and number on the back of it hanging on the wall."
Cole looked down at the floor after he said that. Not many people understood how much he wanted to play. One person who did was Dawn McGrogan. Cole looked up at Dana and said "So how did you land the Team captain in your first year? I've been trying to beat Dawn out for that for the past 3 years and never got it. That might be the only reason I would stay for my 7th year, so I could be captain." Cole laughed at the thought and finished the rest of his pie. A lady came and took his plate and Cole told her to bring his check and Dana's. "I'll pay since I interrupted your fine lunch." Cole said taking out a money sack.

Dropping out. Sure, the Weasley twins had done it and they were relatively successful now. Dana enjoyed their prank-products herself too. But that didn’t mean Dana approved such behavior. It was Cole’s choice though and rather frankly Dana didn’t care about him. It would just be one more Slytherin less at the school. Younger kids, especially Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs might be glad over it. Dana clicked her tongue towards Cole: “You still have much to learn about this world and how it works. I won’t be answering to the same question again and again. I’ll hire a secretary to do it for me. It would rather be kids running up to me all times, when I walk the street and not having a moment of privacy that would bother me. But I hope you get your place at the team then.”
“Team captain? Don’t know how I got it really. I joined and basically it was just dumped at me. I guess I understood that Savannah needed more time to prepare for NEWTs, but I can assure that finding good players is not too easy. Especially since most Ravenclaws aren’t too interested in sports,” Dana shrugged and finished off her cake shaking her head to the waitress. “NO, extract the cost of my foods from the usual Gringotts account,” the waitress nodded, complying to the order and left as Dana stood and looked down at Cole at the table. “You weren’t that pleasant of a company to let you buy me a dinner. You were tolerable but not really my favorite,” Dana smiled sweetly at the boy – their characters and beliefs were too different.
Picking up her bags Dana moved to the door with her steps getting quicker as the door opened and Kris stepped in. “Hey,” Dana stepped into his arms and hugged Kris quickly, giving him a quick peck on the cheek, before taking a step back, “When did you get back from Sweden? Give me a ride home?” Having heard the demanded responces Dana handed her package of books to Kris as the relatives turned and stepped out again with Dana doing most of the speaking while accenting her words with flowing gestures.
