Lark was up early on Saturday. She hopped out of bed and looked around, she could tell none of the other girls in her dorm were as excited as she was to be going into Hogsmeade, on acount that she was the only one awake. She threw on a t-shirt, supporting The Who, a pair of jeans, even thoughit was summer she always forget it could be so hot outside and be chilly inside, and her birkenstocks. She put some coins into her pocket and headed out of dormitory. "I hope she remebers money this time" Lark whispered to herself tiptoeing out of the room. Halfway down the stairs to the common room Lark remembered that she needed to brush her hair turning back around she thought Isnt the world ironic.
This time when she left her dorm Lark's hair was brushed and in a ponytail at the back of her head. She skipped down the stairs and out of the common room. She practically ran into the great hall, that would be empty if it wasn't for a few teachers at the head table, that was the place where she and her best friend Autumn, a Gryffindor third year, were supposed to meet. She headed over to the Ravenclaw table and took her favored seat towards the back of the hall and on the side closser to the Gryffindor table. She sat down and began to wait.

The bright morning sun shined in Autumn's closed eyes. Opening her eyes very slowly she turned around in bed and looked into the alarm clock. It was 8:30 AM. " Great, I'm late." Autumn thought to herself as she jumped up in bed. She looked around. There were just three girls (not including herself) in the girl's dormitory. She was meeting Lark, a Ravenclaw in the Great Hall, they were going to Hogsmeade together and she was supposed to meet her 30 minutes ago. She didn't hear her alarm so she was running late, as usual. Autumn got out of bed, moving very sluggishly, since she just woken up but moving faster by each step. Autumn threw open her trunk and found her favorite pair of jeans with a big hole in the right knee and just an old gray sweatshirt over a white t-shirt, (her regular outfit). She also grabbed her regular, rather dirty, denim material purse as an afterthought, that had some coins. Autumn knew Lark wouldn't buy her anything if she forgot money. " She should know I would be just a little late." she thought to herself as she brushed the tangles out of her light brown hair. Having no time to do anything with it, she just left it down, ran down the stairs, and out of the common room bidding a goodbye to her fellow Gryffindor classmates. She ran to the Great Hall and stopped dead in her tracks. Some teachers were at the Head Table and she knew she shouldn't have been running but luckily none of them had noticed her. She saw Lark sitting at the Ravenclaw table and walked up to her. "Sorry I'm late", Autumn said, "Although you should be used to it by now" ((  )) |

The food on the table looked delicious and after ten minuets of waiting Lark felt the temptation couldn't be held off any longer. She took a piece of toast and buttered it as students began to arrive for breakfast. Recognizing none of them as Autumn she began to eat without feeling the least bit guilty.Lark waited for another twenty minuets until she heard someone walk up behind her.
"Sorry I'm late", Autumn said, "Although you should be used to it by now". Lark turned around and saw her friend she was out of breath but trying to flash the biggest smile possible. Lark stood up beside her friend towering over her a good two inches. Lark looked to make sure Autumn had remembered her purse. She wasn't mean she was just tired of having to wait for Autumn to get it or having to be paid back.
"Thats OK I forgive you.....besides I ate without you so now we're even" Lark gave her a smile equal to the one Autumn was giving her, maybe not as straight but none the less. "Can we go now?... I'm kind of board of waiting around". Lark began to walk out of the great hall fishing around in her pocket for a piece of bubble gum she knew wasn't in there.

Autumn tried to flash a big smile to help Lark forgive her, but she was out of breath from running all the way from the Gryffindor common room all the way to the Great Hall.
"It's nice to look down on Lark for once", Autumn thought. Then Lark stood up towering 2 inches above her.
"It was good while it lasted", she thought to herself as she looked up at Lark. She saw her eying her purse. Lark always had lend Autumn money because Autumn tends to forget her money time to time. Autumn finally brought money so she could buy something for herself, and pay Lark back.
"Thats OK I forgive you.....besides I ate without you so now we're even" Lark said flashing a smile. Autumn knew Lark wasn't proud of her not perfectly straight teeth...but that doesn't stop her from smiling!
"Can we go now?... I'm kind of bored of waiting around". Lark said who started walking toward the way out of the Great Hall. Autumn saw Lark fishing through her pocket. She knew what she was looking for. Autumn started walking while rummaging through her purse. She pulled out a piece of bubble gum and ran up right beside Lark.
"Here you go, when we go to Hogsmeade you should buy some bubble gum, they probably have better flavors then I hold in my purse".
Autumn started humming. She wasn't quite sure what she was humming, but she was just happy that finally should could spend the day with her best friend.

Autumn ran up beside Lark offering her a piece of gum, even though she had braces Lark was always chewing gum, and told her that she should buy some gum with a better flavor. Lark took the piece of gum and told her friend thanks. She stopped in mid stride and abruptly turned around and ran back into the Great Hall. She picked up a napkin from the Ravenclaw table and put a few pieces of toast into it then ran back to her friend. Lark didn't want her friend to starve on her account and besides she had given her gum. (( ;D))
"Here you go" she handed Autumn the toast and again began to walk out of the school. At the door she was stopped by Filch and she again fished around in her pocket but this time it was for her permission slip. Finding it she walked out of the school she turned around and asked Autumn if she was coming.

After Autumn gave her gum Lark ran back into the Great Hall. She came back with a napkin with a couple pieces of toast.
"Here you go" Lark said as she handed her the toast. Autumn smiled as she bit into her first piece of toast, she skipped breakfast and she wasn't quite sure if Hogsmeade will still be serving breakfast food. Lark and Autumn were talking about what they were going to do at Hogsmeade they were stopped by Filch who asked for their permission slips. Lark handed hers without a worry and started to walk away. She turned around and asked Autumn if she was coming. Autumn searched her pockets. She had no idea where her permission slip was!
"Well, well, well looks like Autumn isn't going to Hogsmeade today now are we." said Filch Filch never liked Autumn. During her first year she was running to class and in the process she stepped on Ms. Norris paw. Of course Filch was there and sent me to detention. Ms. Norris is fine but he never forgave her no matter how many times she said sorry.
Then she heared a screech, it was Hope her owl. She landed gracefully on Autumn's arm. Hope had a piece of parchment tied to her her leg. Autumn untied it and it was her permission slip with a small note. it read
Autumn,
I found this in your room while I was cleaning up in there, I thought you might need this. Hope you're learning a lot at Hogwarts. Write me soon so we can discuss if your going to come home for Christmas break or not. Love you, Mom
Autumn handed Filch her permission slip. He had a disgusted look on his face.
"Here, you can have the rest of my toast, maybe that will make you happier." Autumn said as she caught up with Lark "I can't believe I just said that" Autumn said as she walked with Lark.

Lark watched as Hope gave Autumn her permision slip. Then she was thrown into a fit of giggles when Autumn gave Filch her toast. "Not hungry are you"? Lark asked when her giggling stopped. She looked at the big clock as the walked off the school grounds it read 9:30. "Wow its later than I thought" Lark said she had alot she wanted to do today and she didnt want to be late "hey Autumn want to go to the Quiditch shop first I want to look at brooms"?

As Autumn walked to Lark she could see she was laughing. Autumn knew Filch was going to get her back for that one.
"Of course," Autumn responded to Lark when she asked if they could go to the broom shop. Autumn wanted to look at some brooms herself. She wanted to try out for beater for the Gryffindor Quidditch team but she never got the courage to do it. "I'll try out next year" she thought as they walked on their way to Hogsmeade. Lark and Autumn started running, they were running late and they didn't want to waste anymore time, they wanted to spend as much time in Hogsmeade as they could.
