Easter plans (Ivy)

Maria walked out of the castle zipping her rain coat up and pulling her hood over her face. The rain feel slowly to the ground and no sounds of thunder came near. Maria had weird fears, and one was of thunder storms. Ever since that night she was afraid to adventure out in the rain, but some thing made her feel strong enough on the outside too. It could be her brand new confidence or maybe a special person. But Maria did not know but like this new her. Only two people knew about her past. The two people who she could trust were her best friends. Elina was one and the other was Robin. Maria knew Elina since their fourth year and never really realized Robin until Valentines Day. A smile spread across her face as she remembers her two friends. They made her feel special inside and felt like they could still continue to be friends after Hogwarts. Since Elina was a sixth year and she was a seventh. They could still write to each other and that seemed nice.

After a while of walking, Maria reached the Hogs head and entered the small village that looked so deserted like an old ghost town. Her feet splashed in the puddles as she walked towards Honeysuckles sweet shop. Looking up she noticed the shrieking shack in the distance. Maria never was there before, maybe because she was a little too afraid to enter. Some people said there was a wild animal where you could here the howls at night. Maria never liked that and shrugged the image away from her and entered the warm and cozy shop of Honeyduckes, being greeted by the warmth and dryness of the small store.

So many children were running around and looking at the candy. The sight made her smile as she walked further into the shop. This was the last time she could ever get candy from here. She was going to Miss Hogwarts so much, but her future was in store for her. A plan to go into the ministry and work in the magical creatures department, thanks to the idea from one of her fellow Gryffindor. It was a great Idea and she was happy, but maybe she should stay in the wizarding world and work with horses. But a muggle who was accepted in such a great school learned so much and now to go back into a boring life would be difficult. Sighing Maria walked over towards the chocolates and picked up two and looked around for some one she knew.

Ivy put some Knuts, a number of Sickles and ten Galleons into her money bag. She was going to allow herself a bit of theraputic shopping. Money was a worry for her at the moment - she knew that she wouldn't feel comfortable asking Fanny for it, and that she really wouldn't be able to do it. She was going to have to use her father's savings to fall upon for her books and supplies, as well as getting summer jobs. She'd be able to live, of course, but as her father's savings were meager, she wouldn't have substantial savings when she tried to start out as a struggling young witch after leaving Hogwarts. That was a way away yet though. A long way away. At least she had a roof over her head, although Ivy was also worried about that being called into question. And the last thing she wanted was the social services being called in and Fanny having to take more responsibility for her. Fanny had her own children and problems, without Ivy, however good she was.

Ivy sighed as she pulled her cloak on over her jeans and long-sleeved, yellow top. She had to allow herself not to be worrying about these things all the time. Although she felt she had to be responsible for herself, because no one else was obliged to be, sometimes she had to let herself be what she wanted to be - just a 13, nearly 14 year old girl. She could buy some wax for her Nimbus to get it looking presentable again, maybe a rare treat from Honeydukes, something else small. She walked out of the dormitory, out of the Hufflepuff Common Room, up the stairs, out of the main door and into the rain. It nearly always seemed to be grey when she went to Hogsmeade. It was spring now and it was still grey. It would probably still be grey when she went in the summer.

Once Ivy had arrived in Hogsmeade, she looked about to see if she could find anyone she knew. No one. No one whatsoever. She headed for the main Quidditch supplier, and bought her wax fairly quickly. Things were getting so much more expensive these days though. She really had no purpose in coming here. She was on her own, so she might as well go to the other place she had thought of and then go home. That would save money, anyway. She pushed open the door of Honeydukes with a sigh. It was packed full to bursting, of course, due to the proximity of the weekend to Easter. She walked into the shop, looking at the shelves. There was so much choice, it was confusing. She didn't notice who was standing next to her until she heard her making a sigh, exactly how she herself felt.
"Mia!" Ivy said, brightening up suddenly as she looked up at the older girl.
