Brooke ran down the street. Her pale blonde hair flying behind her. Turning left at the street light she looked for a place to sit. Sighting a nice chair she walked to it , eyeing to older guys she put on a darling smile and sat down. Reaching into her bag she pulled out a book.

Turning the pages of the romance novel. She heard a noise behind her. Not looking up she spoke " Hi." in a rich voice.

Jack walked down the street, enjoying the brilliant sunshine. His feet were getting a little tired from so much walking, so he looked for a place to sit at. Seeing a group of chairs, he walked towards them. There was only a couple of people there. A girl about his age, and some other boys that he didn't really know. He saw a little Gryffindor boy walking by and he decided to have a little fun before he sat down.

He walked over to the boy, who was looking at the girl who was sitting down. The boy started to walk away and that was when Jack acted. He stuck out his foot in front of the boy, who was still goggling at the girl, and tripped the unsespecting Gryff. He fell hard to the ground, which made Jack laugh.

"Sorry about that kid!" He said, laughing so hard he could barely talk. "You should watch where you're going! You-you'll never know who you will run into!" Jack laughed even harder and grabbed a chair next to him so he could still stand. Then, deciding he better not risk it, he sat down in the chair he had been holding on to.

He was still laughing when he heard a voice next to him. It was a girl's voice. He looked at the speaker and found that he was sitting next to the girl who was attracting so much attention. He didn't even look at her much, only the book she was reading.

"What is that?" Jack asked, deciding not to introduce himself.

" A book what does it look like idiot." As she lifted her eyes for the first time. Putting on interested smile she she thought to her self not bad he's not that bad looking.

" Well are you just sit staring, hasn't your mom taught you manners." She said bravley. She, Brooke of Ravenclaw was so letting this mild day become a flirtous afternoon.

Jack sneered at the girl who had just called him an idiot.

"I'm not blind. I meant, what book?" Jack told the girl, his eyebrows raised. This girl seemed different... He thought he had seen her around before, probably in the corridorrs.

The comment about his mom teaching him manners made Jack stare at her. What is her problem? He thought rather irratibly. He looked at the ground, not wanting to look at the girl or anyone else for that matter.

"Maybe she would have if I even knew my mom!" Jack snarled at her. He was very sensitive about his mother, she had left when he was just a little boy. He still didn't look up, he just looked at the ground and started tapping his foot.

" Oh , my gosh I am sooo sorry. I din't mean any thing by it...." She said softly , sincerly. " Its um...Witney Cousins. Its so cool." She said unsure. Closing her book she sat up.

She opened her backpack and put up her book. Her pale blonde hair fell over her eyes. She shoke her head slightley. Her green eyes shone as she smiled. " Hi, I'm Brooke." She said pleasnatley.

Jack nodded at girl's apology.

"Of course, you didn't know what you where talking about!" Jack said exasperatly. "No one does!" He shut his mouth quickly and looked up at the blue, blue sky. He had never told anyone much about his mother, so usually, someone would say something about his mother that would make Jack bring up the subject.

Jack didn't really pay attention to what the book was called. When he looked back at the girl, he couldn't help but notice how her blonde hair fell over her face as she bent over her backpack. STOP! Jack ordered himself quietly. He didn't even know this girl? Why was he always attracted to blondes? Jack shoke his head roughly, and nodded at her.

"Jack." Jack said simply. He didn't want to put on a big show. He looked around and noticed that lots of the guys were looking at him with faces that showed....jealousy was it? Jack grinned at the thought; he hadn't even meant to sit down next to Brooke. He held out his hand for her to shake, and then looked her up and down. "Ravenclaw?" he guessed. "Or is it Gryffindor?" He grimaced at the thought. Those stupid Gryffs, mostly that Bridget Vreeland. He would never forgive her for that little trick that she had played on him in sweet shop. He waited for Brooke to shake his hand.

" Ravenclaw." Her leveled tone was as shoking to her as it was to the guys over by the trees.

He was cute. Well her kind of cute. His eyes. It was his eyes that did it. " Umm... not to be noisy , but whoses eyes did you inherit. There just soo..." She trailed off.

Jack smiled a little as he put his hand down.

"Slytherin. Third year." Jack told her as if it was crucial information. The comment about his eyes, however, startled Jack. He had brilliant blue eyes that went well with his brown hair. The comment made his face heat up, he could almost feel the heat coming from it. Who was this girl to comment him on his eyes? Jack looked at the girl, trying to guess what she meant by this. Actually, he had a really good idea, but he was kind of hoping that wasn't it. After all, he had just learned her name. It would seem a little to fast.

"I got my eyes from my mom. Well, I'm pretty much a living double of my mother, except for the gender of course." Jack added a little blankly. He thought about her sentence that she had trailed off.

"My eyes are different aren't they? I mean, lots of people with brown hair don't have blue eyes." Jack said, he wanted to get off the subject of his eyes. But then again.....he kind of liked it too.

" I din't mean any thing like that. Its just I love your eyes there gorgeous." She said. Her own emreled green were shining with the sun.

" So you are like your mom. I am also. I look like her , act like her , like the same things as her. Look at how she turned out." She said sweetly.

Jack looked at Brooke. Was she playing with him? He didn't enjoy this a lot....or....did he? Jack looked up at the sky once more, very confused. What was Brooke doing flirting with him? A Ravenclaw and a Slytherin?! That would be awful. But then again, Mack could survive it. Jack had heard of what Mack has been going through, it sounded like hell. Hell was Mack's world, and Jack soon learned to accept that. If Mack could survive, then he could survive. He looked at the girl once again, he green eyes shining in the sun. She looked almost exactly like Bee, except totally different attitudes.

Jack decided to stay silent about the remark on his eyes. He could feel his face go red again; he could feel the stares of the other boys around them.

"Brilliant." Jack said. "She turned out just brilliant." He could still feel the stares of the boys, which was really starting to ignore her.

"Will they ever stop staring?" Jack asked, irritably."And if they don't soon, I'll throw my apple at their faces." He added under his breath, not caring if Brooke heard or not. He smirked at the thought, it would have been better if he had something that could be squashed, but something hard like this would do. He took out two apples from his bag.

"Would you like one?"

" Brillent? I guess I can ecpect that." She said laughing. Brooke saw that Jack was getting erittated by the guys over by the trees. " Hey fellas , Go home." She yelled. It wasn't a bad yell more like a cheer yell.

Jack offered her an apple. She toke it without hesition. She toke a bite. The sweet juice ran into her mouth she smilied and chewed.

After she finshed chewing it she turned her attention back to Jack. " It looks like its goinng to rain." She said as she saw a drop fall.

Not wantting to get drenched she got up and walked thourds the three broomsticks.

Walking in side she let the warm air ran over her face.

Jack smiled as the girl shoed the drooling boys away.

"Stupid," he muttered under his breath towards the boys. "Just plain stupid." He watched as a drop fell on his apple, which was still in his hand. He took a chunk out of it and chewed rather noisely. He didn't mind what people thought of him. He followed Brooke to the Three Broomsticks, which was nearest and felt the warm air refresh him. He headed over to the bar and relized he had no money. He turned to Brooke, a little humiliated that he was broke.

Brooke toke no notice that Jake was blushing walking up to the conter she talked to the lady. When she returned she smilied up at Jake. " Come I got drinks. On me of corse." she said still smiling.

Choosing at booth closiest to the window she sat down and waited for Jake to do the same.

Jack followed Brooke to a booth and sat down heavily. He was tired from getting almost no sleep last night. He rubbed his eyes to keep awake. He looked at what Brooke had gotten. He couldn't tell what she had gotten, so he asked.

"What did you get?" He looked at Brooke, thinking he had forgotten something. "Oh, thanks for the drinks." Jack added.

" Butter beer and your welcome." She said happley.

Jack took his butterbeer without hesitation and took a huge drink. It tasted so warm and delicious. He looked outside, it had stopped raining. The sun was shining through the clouds and it looked quite comfortable.

"Want to go outside and drink?" Jack asked and without waiting for a reply, he stepped outside and sat down in the chairs he was sitting in before it fell.
