Cassandra sighed as she stepped off the stool in front of the mirror. She was feeling very tense after standing on the stool for almost thirty minutes, but that is the price you pay for fashion. The witch left the room quickly as Cass began to change. Flipping the pants over curtain, they were tugged gently out of her hand. Mother was going a bit overboard with the whole wardrobe thing. Cassandra was used to jeans and shirts, and now that her new found pure blood status had become apparent, her mother was insisting that she dressed like a proper young lady.
After putting back on her clothing, she walked outside to wait while the witch finished altering the pants. Cassandra knew she should be glad about her new wealth, but she wasn't. As a muggle, her parents' had struggled for money all her life. She had always wished she could have the brand new designer jeans in the store window, but she was always stuck with her thrift store fashion. Cassandra was pulled out of her thoughts as the witch returned with her clothing. Placing the items in a carry all bag, a trick Dana had shown her, she left the shop and looked at the list her mother had given her. A new cloak. Cass could handle that.
Walking towards the cloak shop, she noticed several people watching her. It was several Slytherin's from Hogwarts who had always heckled her about her second hand clothes. They were in awe to watch Cassandra buy so much at one time.
The smell of incense cleared her sinuses as she walked into the robery. Hoping to get out of their quickly, a midnight blue robe quickly caught her eye. Admiring the fabric, she nodded toward the robe and the clerk ran over and pulled it off. Preparing to stand on a stool for another 30 minutes, she walked over the full length mirror. The clerk asked if she wanted it charged to a particular account. " Yes, please. Cynthia Blackfire.
The witch's eyes got wide. " That's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Right away miss." She swept away to retrieve a measuring tape. Worried that the woman would spread the gossip about her mother's return, she grimaced.
