Robert sat silently with his butterbeer. He was supposed to meet one of his friends, Cass. She was running a little late. With I finnal gulp, he was done with his butterbeer. He looked back down at his watch. Five minuites isn't that late, he thought to himself. His pocket was being wayed down be the large bag of galleons and knuts and so forth. He had planned on going to look around and wanted to pick up a few things from Zonko's. Just then the door opened and it was her.#nosmileys

Cass took one final look in the mirror. She couldn't stand the way she looked most days, but it looked like today she had gotten it right. Her corkscrew, black curls bounced as she shook her head a couple of times. Wearing a pair of dark blue jeans and a pink wrap shirt, she began to head out the door of her dormitory. As she waived goodbye to her friends, she was lost in thought. Her animagus training had began the night before and she complex theorys and computations going around in her head. Of course, the more she thought the faster she walked and the clicking sound of her black boots hitting the stone floor became more rapid.
She really had somplace to be. She had promised to meet Robert down in Hogsmeade at a small pub. She really didn't know Hogsmeade that well since she had only been a couple of times. She really hoped she could find the place. The walk went quite quickly as she found herself outside the building she was supposed to be at. Pushing through the door, the sweet aroma of baking bread invaded her nostrils. Seeing Robert in the corner, she walked over to the table and had a seat.
She gave him a shy smile, knowing she was a bit late. " Sorry I'm late. I was researching in the library and completely lost track of time. Not a very good excuse, but hey, at least I made it."

"So I've heard that you've taken up Animangus training." Robert was jealous. He'd always wanted to be an anigangi, but didn't know how. "What animal are you wanting to become?" He'd wanted to be a bird, so he could just fly away. "Do you want a butterbeer?" He cocked his head over towards the bar. "I'll get you one."

Cass smiled at Robert as she slipped into the booth. " A butterbeer would be great. Thank you."
She unbuckled the black cloak she was wearing from around her neck. " I'm very excited about the lessons. From what I've heard, McGonogall hasn't taught anyone personally in years. However, the homework is tough. My first lesson was quite overwhelming."
She pushed her hair back. " I already know the form I'll take. I got a hold of a potion that allowed me to know that already, but I want to keep it to myself for now. It's a bit personal."

"If it's personal, I'm not going to be one to pry." Robert blushed slightly. He didn't want to seem nosy.
He got up and slid his chair back. He slowly walked over to the bar and got Cass a butterbeer. He got himself another. Later he'd wanted to go and shop around a little.

As Rober arrived with the Butterbeer, she uttered a small ' Thank You' and popped the top.
" So, where are you from? I've met alot of different people since coming to Hogwarts. It's always fun to know where they are from. Oh, by the way, do you mind stopping by Honeydukes. I seriously need some chocolate."

"I'm from America. We, my family I mean, had to move here so I could go to Hogwarts. The wizarding schools just aren't as good there.' Some chocolate did sound good. He felt his sack of coins. "I'll go to Honeydukes if you go to Zonkos. I've got to pick up... a few things."

Cass smiled. " Sure, Zonko's sounds cool. So, are we ready?" She took the final sip of her butterbeer. She headed out of the pub and walked toward Honeydukes.
She opened the door and sweet smells of candy and sweets infused her nose. " I've gotta get some Jelly Beans." She grabbed a basket and began to fill it up. " Oh, there is some chocolate. I love chocolate, but what girl doesn't?" She smiled at him sweetly.

"Hmmm... I wonder if they carry fizzing whizbees." Robert looked around. "Muggle candy was never as good as this. My mum still sends some to me from an owl." He laughed a little, wondering what the neighbors must think. Since both his parents are muggles, it must look quite odd to have an owl fly around your neighborhood every now and then.
Robert walked up to the counter and put a ton of Drooples Best Blowing Gum in a small cloth bag labeled: Honeydukes Candy Emporium. After he payed for his bag, he walked back over to Cassandra and asked, "So now you know where I'm from, but where are you from?"

She smiled at Robert. " Oh, I'm from Birmingham. I've actually been to the states once. I learned to appreciate Sweet Iced Tea there." She also put some Fizzing Whizbees in her bag.
" I don't write my mother much. She isn't used to owl post. I did send her one in my first year and she muttered something about sending a regular letter when I got home for the summer. So, I don't even try anymore. I'm thinking about buying an owl for the family so we can communicate easier. You know, its so wierd being a muggle born. Being between two worlds."
" We should go to the owl emporioum before we leave. "

"Before I found out that I was a wizard, I used to be able to make weird things happen. At first i thought I was just a freak. It turns out that I wasn't alone. My parents were a little freaked out at the begining, but they got used to it. One owl that I had when I was a first year, delivered a letter for me. I wrote it on my second day at Hogwarts. I told my parents everything about the wizarding world. Stupid owl delivered it to the house next to ours. The Ministry of Magic had a hard time trying to get them to shut up about it. But a few memory charms later, it all turned out to be okay."

She looked at him with an arched eyebrow. " You told them everything? Do you think that wise? I would never tell my mom everything. I mean, if she knew about all the dangers she would never let me return. I would be stuck in the muggle world forever." She went to the front counter and began to pull the knuts and sickles out. " It's hard enough for her to understand that we use different money."
" Zonko's next?" She left the sweet shop and headed down the street toward the joke shop. " Personally, I think some things are better left unknown. If she knew about Voldermort and the way the pure-blood families were, she would absoulutely die." She walked up to Zonko's and stopped in front of the shop. " You know, it's really nice to meet another muggle born. I was starting to feel like the only one."
She pushed open the door and walked in. " It's nice to know that someone understands the dilema your in attending a magic school. Just, the stress of it all." She looked around the shop. " So, what are you needing anyway?"

"Well... technically... I don't need anything. Just wanted to look around a bit. Zonko's always got new things." Robert thought a little. 'I would like a sugar quill though. Just so you can suck on the end in the middle of class. Just have to make it look like you're thinking."
"My mom's really interested in anything magical. I mean, imagine you being in your mother's place. Sending your child of to live with people that everyone thinks don't really exist. All of a sudden, your childs on a train to a totally different world. I'd want to know as much as I can about this "pretend world." My mom couldn't think of anyone in our family who'd ever shown signs of magical abilities. If I went back to my friends in America and told them hat I'd just seen dragons, they'd probably say two thing. Number one: Where the hell have you been? All of a sudden I didn't come back to school next year. My dad couldn't tell them not to worry because I'm in a magical school. Then they's also say, 'You're crazy' because every muggle knows that dragons are in books. Not real life. It's just hard being a muggle born."

She smiled. " I know. However, I always thought that dragon's were real. I never really had anything wierd happen to me. I just remember getting my letter and my mother stared at it stangely. She had to go next door to the neighbor to verify what she had. The next door neighbor was actually a witch. She ran over and hugged and kissed me when she read it. She was so excited and we still didn't know what was going on."
She looked in the shop. " Fireworks. I love fireworks." She went over to the crate and started to sift through it. " You know, I've always been told that the guys who run the shop in Diagon Alley tended to set them off all the time."
She stared at him accusatorily. " What is a good Ravenclaw like you shopping for joke products? Aren't you supposed to be the good ones that study all the time?"

"Oh, poor Ravenclaws," Robert started sarcasticaly. "So misunderstood. I'm not too sure why the hat put me in Ravenclaw. I might get good grades, but sometimes all the studying in the Ravenclaw Common Room makes me wish I was in Gryfindor of Hufflepuff."
((I think I spelled those wrong ;D))
"I doubt that there's ever been a muggle born in Slytherin. I've already been called 'mudblood' by this one blonde kid in Slytherin a few times."

She laughed loudly. " Mudblood? Is that the worst they've called you. I can handle that. Trust me, get used to it."
She grabbed a basket and began to load it up with fireworks. " Let's shoot some fireworks tonight. It will be fun."

"Oh my god that sounds like fun. Almost all the other Ravenclaws are soooo boring! All they do is sit infront of the fire with their noses glued to books. I like to read and all but studying just isn't my thing. Besides, I've got a photographic memory. I'm writing a book currently, so I work on that some. Launching fireworks sounds like fun."
