Faith lifted her cup and took a sip of latte. The warmth of the drink instantly spread throughout her and the cold bitterness of the street outside the coffe shop seemed a world away.
She put her mug down on the marble-topped table and glanced through the window to the cobbled road outside. She was waiting for one of her best friends, Agnes Blackwood. It had been a while since they had seen each other and there was a lot of catching up to do.
Faith tucked a strand of her long, blonde hair behind her ear and took another sip of her coffee. She glanced at her watch, Faith had been a little early for once, Agnes was normally bang on time so she should've been there in a minute or so....

The air was cold as Agnes rushed towards the coffe shop. She was never late never exept today. Agnes didn't know what happend, one moment she was reading on her bed the next she woke up face down on the floor. This had been happening alot recently, strange blackouts. ' ting ting' the coffe shop bell rang as Agnes stepped into the warmth. She spotted Faith over the far side and went to sit next to her. "sorry I'm so late I blacked out again so how are you doing"

"Hiya," Faith greeted, as Agnes sat down, "I'm great thanks. I thought I had frostbite before but this little baby has sorted it all out," She tapped the mug with a painted fingernail, "Are you getting one?"
She looked round and grabbed the attention of the waitress who went to put down a tray before she came to the table.
"Blackouts again? That's so wierd. Why do you think they keep happening?" She asked, adding more milk to her latte and stirring it with a spoon.

"ahh who knows" She shrugged and turned to the waitress " can a have a hot chocolate please?"
"anyway anything big happening at the mo?"

"Big?" Faith said, "No. Unless you count the mountain of homework I've got tonight."
She smiled at the waitress as she brought Agnes's hot chocolate and dipped her finger in the foam at the top of her coffee.
"You up for a swotting session tonight?" Faith enquired, sucking the foam off her finger with a grin, "I've still got to finish that Potions thing on Strengthening Solutions. We could meet in the library just before tea?"

"Yeah Ok I'll see you there I've got to Go The message board and put up a sign for a lost toad so i'll meet you in the libary at about 6 ok? mmmmmmmmm hot chocolate."Agness said as she siped her hot chocolate.

"Alright," Faith nodded, "Who's is the lost toad though?"
She tried to think of anyone she knew who had a toad as a pet. Faith, herself, had Gata, a grey, tom, tabby cat, who was himself great friends with Agnes's kitten Sooty.
"Can't think of anyone," She concluded at last, the list of names running through her head coming to an end, "But I'm curious now, who's is it?"
