Ivy peered out of the dormitory window as she bent down to take out a little bag, made out of brown leather. The weather outside was not as pleasant as it might be. There was quite a lot of wind and it was very showery. Mostly water, but some sleet. So it was very cold as well. Had she realised what the weather was like, she might not have suggested that they go out today, but it was probably all right. At least the streets would be quiet. Not like some weekends in the run-up to Valentine's Day. Ivy tapped her bag to make it impermeable, and took out a thick cloak as well. She stuffed some money in her bag and emerged from down by her bed, smiling at Jordan as she straightened up stiffly.
"Ready to go?" Ivy asked, grinning. They walked fairly quickly to Hogsmeade, the rain pouring down around them, saying nothing but idle chatter. Ivy enjoyed the fresh air, drawing her hood up over her head so that her hair didn't get completely soaked and tangled. Finally they reached some shelter in the main square. Ivy took her hood down again, still smiling, despite the fact that she was a little cold. Jordan didn't look as unhappy as she had done when Ivy had first seen her this afternoon. And a day off was good as well. Ivy needed one, after all the work she had been forcing herself to do. Ivy reached inside her pocket to see if the letter was still intact, and not thoroughly soaked. She had forgotten to put a charm on it. It was slightly damp, but when she drew it out to check it, it hadn't smudged much. Ivy breathed a sigh of relief. She didn't want Fanny to think she'd been crying when she'd written it. She smiled with a little amusement at Jordan, tapping the letter to make it waterproof, before putting it back in her bag. "So where do you want to go first?" she asked her friend, tapping her foot against the pavement unconciously.

Jordan tied her hair up with a black ribbon, and followed Ivy out to Hogsmeade. Ivy had found her in an empty room, ranting and destroying things, and had calmed her down. Which Jordan was thankful for. They had then decided to go to Hogsmeade, which was another good thing. Jordan could use a carefree day, and she was sure Ivy needed one as well. Though Jordan was looking forward to a sunny afternoon, it was dreary and raining, but that didn't dappen the girls mood. Jordan watched as Ivy put a letter in her bag and asked where to head to first. Jordan looked along the streets of Hogsmeade and settled on, "Honeydukes. Chocolate does some good on rainy days."
They walked to the shop, and entered the warm atmosphere. The shop owner sat behind the counter, reading the daily prophet and some students were scanning the aisles of candy. Jordan grabbed a couple of chocolate frogs, "Do you want anything?" She asked with a tilt of her head as she made her way to the counter and purchased her chocolate frogs, "Gah, it's so dreary today." She handed the galleons to the wizard and looked out the window at the pouring rain. Jordan unwrapped the chocolate frog, and grasped it so it wouldn't hop away. The spell ended, and Jordan tore a piece off and put it in her mouth, savoring the rich chocolate.

Ivy smiled as she followed Jordan into Honeydukes. It seemed it was time for a treat. Jordan always had had a sweet tooth. She took some candy and a small chocolate frog, to be on the safe side, and paid after Jordan, unwrapping her frog. She retrieved the card and popped the frog in her mouth, not waiting for the spell to end. It tickled and she almost choked. Ivy swallowed it, giggling at her silliness.
Ivy followed Jordan's gaze, looking at the sheets of rain outside. The frog would probably enjoy it. She sighed slightly, allowing her mood to be influenced by the weather. It had been very bright in the shop when they had stepped inside, almost dazzling her after the small amount of daylight outside. Honeydukes was always well-lit, warm and welcoming. As well as the fact that it had some of the best sweets you could get anywhere. Ivy smiled again, and looked at her card. The man chuckled slightly and dodged out of view, but she could tell who he was by the lettering on the card. "Godric Gryffindor," she read, "one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." Ivy looked sideways to Jordan. "Do you collect them?" she asked lightly, making some conversation to pass the time.

"I used to, then I just kept getting doubles. So I stopped, what about you? Do you collect them?" Jordan asked as she looked at her own card, Dumbledore. She already had him. She sighed and tucked that in her shoulderbag, seeing as she didn't just want to throw it on the ground. Jordan finished off her chocolate frog and turned to Ivy, a smile on her face.
"Wanna head over to the Three Broomsticks? Or, somewhere else?" She asked with a twinkle in her eyes. Jordan liked to walk around Hogsmeade, she liked to walk around small places, not that Hogsmeade was small, but it was relatively medium size. Diagon Alley was small, but strangely large as well. Maybe it was because of the jampacked stores on the side of the walkways.

((Sorry about the delay, I haven't really been in an... Ivy mood recently. But then I haven't really been in a mood for my other characters. I think I want to hurt someone...))
Ivy smiled as Jordan mentioned getting doubles, and murmured her assent. She had many doubles, so she just collected those she didn't have and gave away the rest if anyone wanted them. Not that many people did want them. Collecting was something that had been fun in first year, though. The whole novelty of everything had kept Ivy's mind off the fact that she was missing home so much, and her mother. It had probably been better that she had been able to be a little at ease then, rather than her having regretted her decision for all her life. Whatever the problems getting here had caused, the magical world was the place for Ivy. "I collect them, sort of," she replied to Jordan's question, "But I'm not particularly interested in them."
She thought for a moment as Jordan suggested visiting the Three Broomsticks. It was rather cold outside and Ivy was still chilly from the walk there. They go elsewhere in Hogsmeade afterwards. "All right then, the Three Broomsticks it is," she said, as they stepped out into the drizzle again. "I could do with something warm." Ivy smiled at her friend, glad that for now, at least, she seemed to have regained some of her usual motivation for life. How much of that was real, Ivy had come to doubt. She thought that there still was that side of Jordan, but Jordan had been influenced by whatever had happened with Katie. Ivy didn't know the same Jordan as she had used to know, whatever the reason might be. But Ivy was determined to be a friend to Jordan for as long as she was needed, no matter whether Jordan was cheerful, or destroying desks. Both of those people, however different they might seem, were one person, as far as Ivy was concerned, and that person needed friends who were comfortable with both types of Jordan.
