Faith closed the door behind her with a soft clunk and shook the snow out of her hair. Around her the Three Broomsticks pub was a hive of life and merriment, with seas of people laughing together and recovering from the cold outside.
Faith approached the bar, unwinding her scarf and pulling off her gloves.
"Butterbeer love?" Madam Rosmerta asked, as Faith opened her mouth.
"Got it in one," Faith grinned. She paid the money and took the bottle of butterbeer to a secluded table.
She took out a book and began to read, sipping nochlantly at her butterbeer.
The noise around her was pretty deafening so, sighing, she decided to give it up as a lost cause and, instead, glanced around, inspecting the pub to see if there was anoyone she knew who could join her and take her out of her bored state

Cira sat in 'her' corner as usual, reading a book. It really wasn't her corner but it was the table that she always sat at when she came here. It was slightly quieter there but not by much. Every once in a while she took a sip of her butterbeer.
She realized she was sipping nothing. She'd been so engrosed in her book that she hadn't noticed for a minute or two that her bottle was empty. She put a finger in the spot she'd stopped at and closed the book, bringing it and the empty bottle with her to the bar.
"Another butterbeer?" she was asked she nodded. She noticed the girl who'd just left the bar go and sit alone at a table. She looked like another student from Hogwarts. Shy though she was Cira knew that she couldn't be so antisocial all the time. It got boring after a while being by herself all the time. Well she wasn't completely alone- she had her books and Dionne but it just wasn't the same as human company.
She set her face and mustered up courage to talk to a stranger. She wouldn't make a fool of herself this time she kept saying to herself as she paid the bartender, took her refilled bottle of butterbeer, and walked over to the table.
"Hello" Cira said to the girl and cringed at how meek her voice sounded to herself. She cleared her throat and said in a clearer voice "I'm Cira"

Faith looked up, and saw a girl of about the same standing infront of her table, butterbeer in hands. She introuduced herself as Cira, a name which Faith recongised as being a Ravenclaw in her same year.
"Hi!" Faith greeted warmly, imensley glad of some company except the (rapidly draining) bottle of butterbeer, "I'm Faith. Wanna seat?"
She smiled pleasantly, and shifted her bag from the seat next to her, to the carpeted floor.

Cira nodded her relief evident on her face. She wasn't quite sure why she reacted this way... did she expect people to hate her or something? I've been reading too many books with characters who couldn't possibly be real. People who i could never in a million years measure up to.... but then again too many books isn't possible but maybe i should read more novels in which the people actually seem real. she decided
She took a seat in the spot the girl's bag had just occupied and set her full bottle of butterbeer on the table in front of her. Cira smiled at the girl "Thanks" she said "Nice to meet you, Faith"

Faith smiled at Cira and drained her butterbeer in one gulp.
"What're you reading?" She asked, gesturing towards the book in Cira's hands, "Homework or leisure?"
Faith's book was homework as usual. The scarlet one on Ancient Runes that she had been reading for weeks. It was quite small and vaugley slim but the writing was tiny and Faith had a pretty short attention span at times, that was why she tended to read only when she had to. She preffered to write anyway. Infact, at that moment a quill happened to be perched behind her ear, forgotten from a writing session in the morning.
It dislodged itself as Faith tidied up her blonde hair, that had gone slightly aray from the chilly wind of teh world outside the pub. She laughed, happy to find the missing item that she had been looking for most of the morning and chucked it ontop of her book, then turned back to Cira for an answer to her question.

She smiled to herself as the girl seemed to have found something she may have lost earlier. She was just the same way sometimes... very scatterbrained and as usually her bag was a mess she lost things on a daily basis.
"It's for leisure... I love reading." Cira said holding up the book for the girl to see "It's called Tricksters Choice it's a wonderful book. Surprisingly enough the library at Hogwarts has a muggle section... that's where i got this."

"Oh yeah!" Faith said with enthusiasm, "I just finsished my first muggle book! I really need to read some more, I've realised what I was missing."
She flicked some loose hair behind her ear again and smiled.
"I really need to read anything actually. I've been awful recently. When I was younger I used to read loads but as I've got older it's just gone out of the window a little bit. I blame it on my attention span, I can't concentrate for a minute at a time."
She paused and revised her sentance.
"I tell a lie," She said, "I can when I'm writing, but that's a completley different matter."
Faith looked at her empty butterbeer bottle with a slight look of remorse, digging into her pocket to see if she actually had any money left. She had planned to keep the drink for a lot longer than that!
Thankfully, her fingers felt teh cold touch of silver and she shook her pocket to reassure that she had enough.
"I could do with a refill," Faith said, shaking her empty bottle so the dregs danced at the bottom, "Coming up to the bar?"
