Karissa ran down the hall. Somewhere to hide, somewhere to hide. Suddenly, a door appeared in front of Karissa.
"Perfect!" she said, opening the door and rushing in. Inside were some cushions on the ground, a bookcase, and the room looked sound-proof.
"Great! Now I won't get caught!" Karissa sat down on one of the cushions, pushing her messy crimson red hair out of her eyes. She laughed as she remembered how she had got the hair colour, how at Dana's Valentines Day party she had bewitched the door to change the guest's appearance. Karissa had somehow bewitched her hair to stay red after she left.
Karissa pulled out her wand and performed the summoning spell.
"Accio wallet!" Almost immediately, Karissa's money filled wallet zoomed in to the room. She counted the contents. 10 galleons, six sickles, and 15 knuts. She looked around the room, and saw a school broom next to an open room. She mounted the broom and zoomed out the window.
Karissa flew down to Hogsmeade. She decided first she would buy some things, including a present for her sister Anne since her birthday was coming up. She walked into Honeydukes.
"Sugar Quills? Anne would love them, especially during the hours and hours mom teaches her." Karissa paid for the Sugar Quills and left the store. She decided to enjoy her freedom in the middle of the week and walked toward Zonko's.

Sitting in her dorm room Mary contemplated her options. She could go to the library… the common room… the lounge… or she could sneak out and go to Hogsmead. The last option definitely seemed the most enjoyable considering Mary’s adoration of shopping. She changed into a pair of blue jeans and a fuzzy dark green turtle neck. She then threw on a black pair of stiletto boots and a long black jacket. Grabbing her purse she headed out toward the common room. Not finding anyone around that she wanted to shop with she simply left all on her own.
She walked down the path toward the gates and slipped off school property. The entire way into town Mary’s head swarmed with thoughts of school, guys, and the boots she was going to buy. The streets were nearly empty save the random person here and there. She noticed a fellow third year and being Mary decided to join her. Walking up to her Mary fell into step beside the girl. “Hey. I'm Mary Evans.” She said to the girl.

Karissa looked at the other third year.
"My name's Karissa Chiff, but you can call me Kari." Karissa saw the girls purse. "You decided to go shopping too, huh?" Karissa smiled, and put the bag of treats she had bought for her sister so it was hanging from her shoulder.

Mary smiled as the girl seemed amicable while introducing herself as Kari. She asked if Mary was shopping and Mary’s grin just got wider. “Is there really any better past time?” she commented with a smirk as she eyed a display of formal gowns in a shop window. She would be needing a new one for Dana’s valentine’s party because most of hers were either too formal or too nice to be seen in at a school party and so not be able to wear to anything important. ((OOC I hope you don’t mind me making this before valentines but I just figured it would give Mary something to shop for and something to talk about))
“So beyond shopping what brings you out here on a weekday?” Mary asked the other girl while veering off toward the dress store. She knew she and Kari weren’t shopping together necessarily but she hoped that Kari would not think her to forward by dragging her along. “You mind looking at dresses with me? When I do it myself I always end up with similar dresses and wont often try on new styles. That’s a big difference between my dress and normal clothes shopping; I will try on any clothes but dresses… I'm not sure why though.” Mary babbled while pulling the door open.

((ooc: it's okay, even though the shopping for dresses won't matter much after what Dana did to the door.))
"I was pretty much bored out of my skull, and for some reason Filch's cat was following me around. I must have done something wrong, because otherwise she wouldn't be following me. I don't mind looking for dresses. I need a new dress anyway. My mom told me to buy one. And no, I don't know many pastimes better than shopping," Kari let herself be dragged into the store, which she was pretty much used to with her sister dragging her around in the summertime. Kari immediately spotted a dress on one of the many hangers in the store. It was an emerald green and looked like it was made of a silky material. It had no sleeves and looked like it would fit Mary perfectly.
"What about this?" Kari asked, showing Mary the dress.
((ooc: I don't know if there is a Filch yet, but I'm just improvising))

((Yes well we know the trick she played but Mary and Kari don't )) Mary followed Kari into the shop where they were not properly greeted at all. Mary gave the sales lady a testy look to tell her she was willing to spend a lot of money but not if she didn’t work for it. The look worked though; most likely because it was something Mary had practiced since she was a young child out with her mother. “Oh yes dear that would look just lovely on you. Would you like me to put it in a dressing room while you look around?” the girl asked with a false sweet voice as Kari displayed a gorgeous green dress. “Please” Mary said plainly before turning her back on the girl with a self-satisfied smirk. She looked at the rows upon rows of dresses out on display with a careful eye. “What do you think of this?” she asked Kari displaying a long dress with a slight trail, it was silk in a dark shade of red but was covered in a black lacy material so the two colours blended and yet were separate somehow. The dress bunched a little around the top until just under the breasts where it feel straight down the dress, which was shaped in a way to give the wearer a nice hour-glass figure. “It may be a bit cold in this though…” she said noting the spaghetti straps. “But I suppose with a shawl it will be fine…” Mary said. “Lovely eye you have there dear, here just hand that to me and I will put it with the other. You certainly will look splendid.” The saleswoman said eagerly with her hand out to take the dress, a large plastic smile on her face. “What do you think Kari?” Mary asked again not paying attention to the annoying woman.

"It's beautiful. And I think this one will be good for me," she said, holding up a simple blue dress that would go down past her knees and had a glitter decoration across the front below the neck.
She passed the green dress to Mary and held the blue dress in front of her.
"Perfect."

Mary smiled broadly as Kari said the dress was beautiful. Kari then held up a glittery blue dress and suggested it for herself. Mary shoved the dress in her hands at the sales woman and motioned her to take Kari’s back to a dressing room as well. “Red dress goes with the green one and the blue goes in another” she said bluntly to the saleswoman as if she couldn’t tell. For some reason this woman had struck a wrong cord with Mary by not saying hello immediately. This shop seriously needed better staff; the woman didn’t take them seriously just because they were young. The fact was that Mary likely spent more on clothing every year than a small country did on food and she didn’t even bat an eye.
Mary continued to peruse the merchandise for a few minutes before deciding she was just going to try on those two dresses for now. She walked over to Kari and stood beside her. “Well I'm ready to go back and try things on as soon as you are.” She said to the other girl with a grin; oh how she loved playing dress up.

Kari held the glittery blue dress and looked at Mary.
"I'm ready. I think this dress will be good." she headed over to the changing rooms and walked into one. She changed out of her normal clothes and put the dress on. She stepped out and looked at Mary.
"What do you think?" she asked. Kari personally thought the dress was really nice, like the one she had worn to the party her parents had thrown at Christmas time. She had had to go, and she had ended up wearing a dress a lot like the one she was wearing at the moment. She wondered what jewelery she should wear with it if she bought it. She could wear that gold chain, and those Aquamarine gemstone earrings. Kari pushed a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I think I'll get this dress. I have enough for it, and I have some jewelery that would look nice with it." Kari noticed a surprised look on the shopkeepers face, obviously she was surprised that Kari had enough money for a formal dress. "It looks like one I wore to a party once, and it brings back some memories."

Kari said that she was ready so the two girls headed back to the dressing rooms that the sales lady had put their dresses in. The first dress Mary tried on was the green one that Kari had chosen. It fit beautifully; it was not at all puffy and felt in a way that gave her a nice hourglass figure. The only problem was her frame was a little too small for the strapless dress. She could hear that Kari wasn’t finished yet in the other room and Mary giggled, realising that she must shop for dresses way too much considering how quickly she could change into these elegant ball gowns. Knowing that she had time Mary changed into the only other dress in the room and smiled at her reflection.
She opened the door and did a little spin into the common area of the dressing rooms. She spun in front of the mirror and watched her dress flair out slightly although it couldn’t much because of the way it fell. She was still smiling and checking out her reflection when Kari came out of her own dressing room. Kari did look wonderful in the blue party dress and Mary smiled at her. “You look great. And rather than continue to search I think I will get this one as well. Maybe later I will look for some black jewellery. If not I have some that would mach…” Mary said thoughtfully, she of course already had jewellery that would work but she hated wearing jewellery more than once; it was something her mother had instilled in her.
