Mary adored shopping. She lived for shopping. But it was a rather tiring activity for sure. Mary decided to duck into ‘The Three Broomsticks’ for some lunch. There was a large group of people at the counter placing orders, so Mary decided to just sit down until they had gone away. She placed her purchases by the side of her chair and sunk into her seat. She then saw a fellow third year Slytherin across the room. It was Pyro, a boy her parents insisted she get to know because he is ‘of proper breeding’. She had not spoken to him since summer when their conversation had been interrupted by a family emergency forcing him to go home almost as soon as he had came. Her parents had been asking about him so she figured it was time she made an effort to talk to him; she had to please them if she wanted quiet during the coming summer.
She walked over to greet him. “Why hello Pyro.” She said, giving him a smile.

*Pyro sat at a table, looking down at a piece of parchment and than up at the bags and packages on the table, he would than write something on the parchement.he mumbled quietly to himself*
"how dare they send me out and make me do this...this is for the servents...And besides..the tail looked good on that muggle"
*He noticed and blinked*
Oh..Hey Mary.. Didnt see you walk in.

“Of course. How could you bent over the table like that? So I have to know … when did you start talking to yourself?” Mary said with a laugh. She then summoned her things to her; ignoring the people who got in the way. As soon as her bags arrived she began riffling through them. When she got to the third bag she finally found what she had been looking for. She took out a book and placed it on the table before her.
“So what are you doing today?” She asked while trying to catch a glance and the parchment in front of him.

"Shopping"
*he said with a slight hint of disgust*
"I went home for the holidays. And I may or may not have cast a spell on a muggle or two. As punishment father sent me out to do the shopping that the servents were suppose to do!"
*His teeth and fist were clenched in anger and he almost ripped the parchment*
"Ill get him for thise"

Mary had always known that guys don’t like to shop nearly as much as girls do, but she really couldn’t understand the disgust on Pyro’s face when he said the word. “So what did the muggles do to you? Sorry if I seem dense but what’s up with all this muggle hatred. Its not like you can even say they came into our world where they don’t belong, because they didn’t. How much else do you need to get? Because I'm almost done and could always help you, you know.”

*He arched an eyebrow at her*
Do to me? Those filthy muggles couldnt do anything to me if they tried.
*He looked at parchment for a second*
Just a few more groceries, and a quick stop at an apothecary should be it.

“Well if they didn’t do anything to you why did you make the effort to be with them?” Mary asked with an amused smile. This day was going to be even more fun than she had originally expected. Mary loved to annoy Pyro, it wasn’t much of a challenge, but it was fun none the less.
“Why don’t we just have some drinks then I will help you with your shopping alright? Could you bring me a butterbeer in an unopened bottle and an empty glass? I’ll be right here when you get back.” she said. She then began rifling through his things and behaving as if he had already left.

*He narrowed his eyes and sat there staring at her. he was about to protest but decided not to expend the energy. Still looking at her he put the parchment down and stood up..than turned and walked to the bar. He got himself and her a butterbeer, he grabbed a empty glass and made his way back to the table..he set her drink and glass down in front of her*
"Anything else I can get you, master?"
*he said, dripping with sarcasm*

“A chocolate chip cookie sounds great if you don’t mind.” Mary said ignoring the sarcasm. She did not even look up from his bags as she said it but instead continued looking at his purchases. She then pulled out an odd shaped purple thing. “What on earth is this?” she asked him.
Tired of his boring purchases she then sat back in her chair and picked up her book. As she opened it to the marked page she looked up at him. “I was serious about the cookie you know.” She said before looking down at the book struggling to keep a straight face.

*Biting his lip to surpress the scream that was about to come he turned back around and headed back to the bar. grumbling*
"ill get you a cookie, a nice cookie with some poison powder toppings."
*he got a cookie and walked back to the table and droped it in front of her and plot down in his seat and grabbed his drink and took a gulp from it*

As soon as Pyro had left Mary burst out into giggles, and her fit only became worse as she saw him struggling threw the crowd once again just to get her a cookie that she had only asked for to bother him. She looked down at the cookie he had brought her; it looked delicious. “Raisons? I could swear I asked for chocolate chip and you brought me raisons. No wonder the servants do the shopping. I'm sure as soon as you get home they will have to go out and get everything on this list again just so they can have what they need.” She said. “Would you be a dear and get me a chocolate chip cookie? Please.” She said with an obviously insincere sweet smile.

((sorry this took so long, my comp has frozen up on me twice, and it looks like it aint gonna stop))
*Pyro gave her a look clearly showing he wasnt amuesed.he looked at the cookie*
"Dont be fooled, its chocolate chip in disguise"

“So the chocolate chips have taken to disguising themselves now eh?” She asked on the verge of breaking out into laughter so hard she could already feel the tears forming in her eyes. She then put her book down to open her butterbeer.
“You know I think I may understand why they open these things for you. It would be ever so nice if you could open this for me Pyro dear.” She said while batting her eyelashes at him. The look of absolute annoyance on his face only encouraged her further. She was really curious about what would happen when he cracked; would he do it gracefully and learn to play along, or would he freak on her and start throwing things and yelling.
Rather enjoying her little experiment Mary decided to continue. “Did you get yours open on your own? Well there is some use for you after all how nice. Now you have yet to answer my question though, what is that thing?” She asked again gesturing to the weird purple thing she had removed from his bag earlier.

*Pyro took in a deep breath and let it out slowly, trying to remain calm and keep his hand as far from his wand as possible, he couldnt afford another outburst....to keep his hands busy he grabed her butterbeer and started working on twisting the lid off...He looked at purple thing and wrinkled his noes*
"To tell the truth, I have no clue, Its something the house elfs ordered, I just showed the list to the shopkeeper, and that was one of the things he put in the bag"
*He got the lid off and he absently flicked it toward another tables occupants. he set the butterbeer down in front of her*
"And oh yea, chocolate chips have had to resort to disguising themselves. Since they are being hunted for being in such high demand."

“Thanks.” she said sincerely when he handed her the now open butterbeer. She then poured it into the glass. ‘A lady should never drink from a bottle’ her mother had always told her. Not that she didn’t usually drink it right out of the bottle but today she felt like being proper, on the surface at least. She then laughed at his comment about the chocolate chips. ‘So he does have a sense of humour hiding in there’ she thought. “There may be some hope for you after all.” She said to him through laughter and giving him a genuine smile.
“Now I have not the slightest clue how to grocery shop, or where you could even find one for that matter. But there is a really good apothecary I know down Knockturn Alley that can provide for… any need you may have. My dad’s been taking me there all my life; never yet had a thing they couldn’t provide, given enough time.” Mary said with a smirk. Once again thankful to be a Slytherin and not above a little fun at other’s expense. She loved her friends from other houses and all, but nobility could be a bit of a pain sometimes.

*Pyro nodded*
Aye, I was given direct intstructions to go to knockturn alley for a 'few' of theses items.
*He leaned back in his seat and took a drink of his butterbeer*
but right now, I only feel like resting my feet.

“How can you rest your feet when there is shopping to do?” Mary asked him completely baffled. Sure she had come in here for some lunch while she could still be out shopping, but she hadn’t planned on wasting any time. ‘I will never understand guys’ she thought with a grin which she turned into a smirk knowing she may appear weak sitting there grinning like a six year old.
She then picked her book back up and continued reading and drinking her butterbeer. “Do you read often?” She asked him, not taking her eyes off the page.

"yea, I read every now and again."
*He watched as a object landed on the table, bounced, and landed in his lap..he looked in the direction it came from and noticed it was the same table that he had flicked the butterbeer cap at..he looked down at his lap and sure enough. the recipients of the table had been kind enough to return the cap.*
"why those little....."
*He picked up the cap and waited untill they werent expecting it, than he tossed the cap back at the their table*

Mary wasn’t quite convinced when Pyro said he read, ‘but then again why would he lie?’ she thought. She laughed as she saw Pyro and a few guys at another table throwing butterbeer caps at each other through the corner of her eye. She then slid the cap that had came off his butterbeer over to him. ‘This could be amusing, especially if those guys over there decided to teach Pyro a lesson.’ She thought with a smirk noting how much older they looked, six years probably.
One of the boys looked over to glare at Pyro and Mary smiled at him before returning to her book. They did seem quite angry, and Mary couldn’t have been more delighted.

"Well anyways......."
*he was cut short as the butterbeer cap bounced of his head and fell to the table...he sat there motionless, tapping his fingers on the table...He grabbed the two caps and chucked them at the table...no longer trying to just merely toss it at them*
