Karlie strolled down the crowded alley with her head held high. She felt exceptionally self-assured today due to the fact that she was wearing her new outfit of low-rise jeans with a form fitting, long sleeve, green, v-neck shirt. An emerald pendant graced her neck and she sported a similar bracelet on her right wrist. Her brown hair hung gracefully on her shoulders, blowing slightly in the wind. She wasn’t in the alley for any particular reason, just a lack of things to do in summer vacation. She paused momentarily to look in a window display of glass blown quidditch figurines and watched a mini-fireblot zoom around with mild interest before continuing on to the Three Broomsticks for lunch.
When she stepped into the noisy pub, however, she noticed that it was very crowded and there was only one table open. Annoyed, but determined to sit alone, she shoved her way through the crowd towards the last open table, doing her best not to touch to much of the filth that filled the pub. When she reached the table, she slid smoothly into her seat and set her purse on the bench beside her. She then sat there, humming “Weasley is Our King” slightly out of tune and tapped her freshly manicured finger nails on the wooden table while she waited for Madame Rosmerta to come and take her order.

Ron rubbed his temples to try and subdue the headache he was subjected too. Fred and George were making things explode and whiz and pop, mother was yelling at them. Sometimes Ron wondered how she could maintain that level and tone of voice for so long. Finally Ron had had enough, he needed to get out of the house. Ron stood up. "Mum, I'm gonna go to Hogsmeade." Ron interrupted his mother. She turned to him, thought for a moment, and than nodded. She was to busy dealing with the twins to worry about what Ron had just said. Before she caught on Ron moved to the fire place and took a hand full of floo powder. "Hogsmeade" He shouted as he tossed the powder into the flames and stepped in.
Ron stepped out in one of many shops of Hogsmeade. Dusting off some of the ashes from his robes Ron left the shop. He looked up and down the streets of Hogsmeade trying to decide what he should do when the Three Broomsticks came into view. Maybe he could go in for a butterbeer. Ron entered the shop and looked about. He noticed Rosmerta and stepped up to her. "Hey....Rosemerta...Ho..How are you?" He asked a bit awkwardly. Rosmerta smiled and stepped up to a table to take the order. "Well, I'm fine. Can I get a butterbeer please?" Ron sat down at the table, not noticing that someone was already sitting at the table. Ron watched Rosmerta walk away and than he heard a humming and he easily recognized the tune of "Weasley is our king." He frowned. "You know, that isn't very nice." He turned and looked at the girl. "People might think your from Slytherin if you sing songs that make fun of people like that."

Karlie was just getting to “Weasley cannot save a thing…” in her version of the song when Weasley himself came stumbling by. He looked slightly flustered and was stuttering out some sort of greeting to Madame Rosmerta. Karlie cocked one of her finely arched eyebrows at him as Madame Rosmerta walked away and he sat at her table. His face rapidly turned an even darker shade of scarlet as he realized what tune she had been humming before he sat down. “You know, that isn’t very nice, people might think you’re from Slytherin if you sing songs that make fun of people like that,” he said in a slightly indignant voice.
Karlie gave an amused snort of laughter before turning on Ron. “Well as a matter of fact, Mr. Weasley, I am in Slytherin. And who said you could site here?” She asked with a sneer. She was not typically foul to people who chose to sit with her, but he had insulted her house and that annoyed her more than most things. She glared at him while awaiting his retort.

Somehow Ron knew as soon as the words left his mouth that he was talking with a Slytherin. Ron sneered. Ron usually wasn't one to hate much, but when it came to Slytherin house, he made an exception. In all six years Ron had met countless Slytherins and to this day he had not met one he liked. He listened to the Slytherins girl comment and frowned at her. She didn't look to old, probably around her 3rd or 4th year. Usually youngins like that didn't talk to older students with that kind of attitude and Ron wasn't going to take it from a Slytherin.
"Well, excuse me for not recognizing the smell earlier. Last I checked this was a public pub, so therefor the seats are open to anyone and I don't have to ask before sitting anywhere. Don't worry though because I wont be here for long." He got up to leave but than remembered he had ordered his butterbeer here. He sat back down and cast a glance at the glare. "As soon as my butterbeer gets here." He mumbled.

Karlie was slightly taken aback by Ron’s rudeness; he was a Gryffindor after all. In her opinion however, rudeness was a benefit and she gave him an infrequent smile. Not noticing the smile, he got up to leave, but he hadn’t even fully left the stool before he was sliding back in. “After I get my butter beer,” he muttered.
Karlie was slightly pleased that he was staying, so she smirked before saying, “Well, since there are no other tables open, I guess you can sit with me, until another table opens that is.” She was secretly delighted to have a sitting partner, especially one who knew how to respond well to attitude, but didn’t show it. Karlie very rarely showed her true emotions, and she wasn’t making an exception for this boy, no matter what. She hoped he would accept her invitation to stay, “Well…” she asked, giving him an expectant look.
