Lydia walked into the tiny coffee and tea shop near Flourish and Blotts in Diagon Alley. Finding a table near the back of the shop, she ordered a cup of Earl Gray and some biscuits. Pulling out a small sketch pad, Lydia pulled out a charcoal pencil and began to sketch a lovely country scene.
After a few moments, her quiet reverie was broken by several first year Gryffindor's walked in and began to chatter loudly. One of the girl's recognized her and began to say hello, but was stopped dead when Lydia gave them that familiar Slytherin sneer. The girl sqeaked and ran off. Glad she had her peace and quiet back, she went back to her sketching.

Kris shielded his yawn. He had returned to England after a weekend back at home with the plane taking off very early and they had very lousy coffee there. Taking a taxi Kris let himself be taken to a couple of blocks away from the Leaky Cauldron. Paying the bill easily and leaving a rather generous tip, Kris walked down the street once again and entered Leaky Cauldron. Not sparing a glance towards anyone, Kris walked back out of the pub from the back and tapped the bricks in correct order with his wand. Watching as the wall turned into an hallway, Kris entered and calmly started walking towards a small coffee shop near Flourish and Blotts. He would get a cup of some hot and strong espresso, before going back to school later.
Entering the store Kris ordered an extra-large cup of extra-strong espresso and a piece of cake as he walked towards a table grimacing when he caught his reflection on one of the windows. A hint of dark shadow was starting to show on his chin – Kris would most certainly have to shave soon, and being tired from the long trip all the rough edges and sharp lines in Kris’s face became even more visible than usual. Shielding a yawn and being rather immersed in his own thoughts Kris sat down at a random table as he liked where it was situated, being almost prepared to scare away whoever was sitting there.
Raising his eyes with a sneer to whoever had been occupying the table Kris recognized a fellow Slytherin. And she was a fellow fifth year on top of everything else. Lydia Rivers if Kris recalled correctly, which he probably did, having a rather good memory. Thanks to her being a Slytherin and as old as he, Kris couldn’t really scare her away. “Do you mind if I sit here? My patience is short enough today, so those annoying idiots wouldn’t walk out of here without a couple of hexes today,” Kris said calmly, referring to the Gryffindor girls as idiots, “And I don’t really care to teach those mudbloods a lesson in manners today.”<br>

There was just something about the way it shined...the little light at the end of her life. Kori couldn't quite describe it, yet she knew it was there. Her life was built on fairy-tales and horrors, and even though they always turned out to be either really good or horribly bad, Kori always had a way of getting it back. Her life which was snatched out of her hands at the moment, by her father, was just a sequence of things. One thing falling after another. This was what today was, just another sequence.
As Kori made her shopping route, she glanced at the sun...realizing it was about time to get something to drink. She sighed, shifted the weight of the shopping bags, and made her way towards the coffee and tea shop. Her blonde curls bouncing behind her, and being held back by her sunglasses which she had pushed up onto her head. She pushed open the door and dropped her things off at the front of the shop. She glanced at the menu, not really sure what to get. Kori finally decided to order, and when she did place her order, she looked around the shop.
A few annoying Gryffs were chatting and chatting. Gak gak gak. Blah blah blah. Kori rolled her eyes and paid for her coffee, grabbed the cup and made her way to the table the farthest away from the door. She was about to sit at an empty table when she recognized two people, who seemed to be her age, from her house. Kori grabbed the nearest chair, turned it around backwards, and sat down...her arms draping casually over the edge of the chair, her coffee cup still in hands, "Mind if I join you?" She asked, a smile and a raise of her eyebrow. The Gryffs were still yacking. Gak gak gak. Blah blah blah.

Lydia looked at the new arrivals. " Yes, your more than welcome to join me." She held her hand out to the boy, no knowing who he was. " I'm Lydia Rivers. I'm not sure if you've met Kori." She politely made introductions while she moved the sketch pad to the edge of the table. She carefully capped the charcoal pencil and placed it on top of the drawing.
She gracefully moved the cup of tea to her lips and took a sip. " What brings you to this neck of the woods Kori? You can't tell me its to enjoy the tea. It's horrible. However, I did enjoy the pasta salad."
She sneered in the direction of the Gryffindor's that wear opening the door to exit the shop. " Filthy mudbloods. One of them actually tried to talk to me."

Kris had barely sat down when Kori joined them with a cup of coffee in her hands. Kris listened calmly to Lydia watching her hand for a moment, before accepting it and shaking it briefly. The idea of Lydia not knowing who he was didn’t even cross his mind – Slytherins usually knoew other pure-bloods, especially their house-mates and people in their year. “I know Kori. We have met before,” Kris stated calmly taking a bite of his rum-cake, having to use his self-control when Lydia said that she had actually been approached by one of the Gryffindors. Swallowing his bite slowly and taking one more sip of his espresso, Kris looked at Lydia with an icy shield over his eyes: “Maybe they would know better not to try approaching you, if you didn’t encourage them with your free attitude.” The comment was dry and wasn’t in acid, even though Lydia seemed a whole lot more approachable than most other Slytherins.
But the Gryffindors were getting on Kris’s nerves as well. Kris flexed his wrist so that his wand fell into his hand. There was a special pocket inside the sleeve for that – easy to reach in case of trouble and out of sight and not in the way in other times. Turning his head, Kris muttered the incantations and watched contently as the drinks the Slytherins had had flew into their faces and clothes. The drinks had still been hot as well, deciding on the yelps the girls had made when the drinks had made contact with them. The girls yelled and obviously were bothered by the coffee spots on their clothes. Turning their heads they glared at the table Kris was sitting at, as Kris calmly twirled his wand between his fingers.
Muttering darkly, the Gryffindors gathered their thing and left – they might be angry and know it was unjust, but they got the point. None of them tried to start demanding justice either – there were three older Slytherins together there after all. Kris arched an eye-brow at such surprising display of ability of thinking – he hadn’t been sure Gryffindors could actually use their brains. But at least it was a lot quieter in the cafeteria now, as Kris slipped his wand back out of view and calmly returned to his cake. “Mudbloods are hardly worth the time spent on teaching them manners,” Kris stated coolly taking one more bite of his cake, before leaning back in his chair and picking up his cup of espresso. Kris hadn’t came here to be ievolved in a social event, so if the girls wanted a conversation, they would have to start one themselves.

Kori glanced at the Gryffindors. She didn't bother to say anything about them. Not really worth her time to discuss them. As long as they stayed away from her she was fine. She took a sip of her coffee, and winced. Not good. She set it on the table and stared at it, maybe then it would turn into something worth drinking. She then glanced up at Lydia. Wondering if the book had gotten to Cedric. But, not daring to bring it up. Actually, Kori could care less. The Chosen were stupid, and she had no clue why she had joined. Well, that was going to change soon.
"Shopping. What else? Not that there's anything good around here to buy. Even the coffee is nasty. Though, that's explainable, considering that it's run by mudbloods." Kori sneered, looking out the corner of her eye to the witch at the counter. She rolled her eyes and looked from Lydia to Kris. She had met Kris briefly before. That was when she had liked to act. She was over that now, and had decided to follow in her mothers footsteps. Dancing was her passion. Ballet mostly. She took another sip of the horrible coffee, only because she was thirsty and didn't want to go and buy another cup of it.
