Her day was going normally. She had woken up late and spent the remainder of her morning on her Muggle computer. It was her normal hobby during the summer vacation. Being a Muggleborn, she lived in Muggle London and rarely saw anything magical, so she usually spent her time inside. After seeing all the things she seen while at Hogwarts, Muggle life seemed too boring. Almost 20 times a day, she found herself reaching for her wand to do the smallest of things that she would normally do magically while at school. Like her hair or make up, cleaning her room, folding clothes and putting things away neatly. She had to remember that she wasn't alloud to do magic outside of school and it would mean the worst of things if she did even the smallest of an incantation in Muggle London. Lately, she had been locking her wand in her school trunk with all of her school text books and old homework that she didn't need during the summer.
After she was bored with the computer, she had taken a shower, dressed in a regular blue tank top, jean shorts, and then did her hair. She desperatly wanted to use her wand to do her hair, but she held strong and did it the Muggle way. She put her wavy brown hair into a messy bun, leaving stray curls here and there laying across her bare shoulders. She enjoyed applying the make-up to her soft face. Rolling on the mascara, drawing the eyeliner on her eye lids, and putting on the eyeshadow. She enjoyed making her facial features stand out to make her more pretty.
Once she was all freshened up for the day, she was ready to go out. It had been a while since she had seen any of her friends, or any witch or wizard since school ended for the summer holiday. She had decided it was time to be with her own kind. She left her father's flat and walked down the steps of the building. Her car was parked on the side of the road in front of the building. She opened the car door and slid inside. The key made a small click as it fit into place in the ignition. She closed the door, turned the key, and smiled as the car roared to life. She was given her car for an early, very early, birthday present. Being a witch, she was taught to drive by a friend and she never got pulled over, so a license wasn't needed just yet. As soon as her birthday arrived, however, she would be eligable in London to get her Muggle license.
Amelia fastened her seat belt, relaxed in the seat, and turned on some music. Pulled into the street, Amelia drove down the road. She had found CDs in a store in Hogsmead that sold CDs. The only Wizard band she really liked was the Weird Sisters. She perfered the Muggle's lyrics. They seemed simpler somehow. Multitasking, Amelia drove and changed her CD to one of the Weird Sisters'. The music was rather loud, which was how she liked it.
Parking in front of the Leaky Couldron, Amelia turned off the car, threw her keys into her purse and left the car. She locked it and entered the pub. Waving at Tom, the inkeeper, who she had come to know through her five years at school, she entered the back room where the portal to Diagon Alley stood. She pulled out her wand, the familiar feeling of the wood in her hand made her suddenly calm. She had missed her wand, but living in Muggle London made it impossible to use magic, ever, which meant that she had to lock up her beloved wand. She tapped the bricks neccisary to open up the portal and smiled an excited smile. Seeing any friend from her year, even anyone she knew would make her day. She hadn't seen any of her friends since July and now that it was almost the end of August, she missed the magical world and the people in it.
She almost skipped into the alley and found herself face to face with one of her favorite things in the world. Diagon Alley! She sighed, feeling happy and excited at the same time. She bit her lip, wondering what to do first. She suddenly felt like a First Year again. Resisting the urge to run, Amelia walked into the throne of witches and wizards. She decided to sit down for a moment at Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor where she ordered a strawberry sunday.
