This had been Danny’s second trip to Diagon alley in a row. This time was to actually get supplies for the next school year. Danny started with getting some quills for school which was more of a hassle then it should have been. The whole time getting new quills and ink he just wished he could use muggle pens. They were so much easier to use and to keep track of. He finally just grabbed a few quills and ink, bought them and kept going with his school supply shopping. Danny kept walking trying to past gambol and japes joke shop but he just couldn't help himself. Danny had to at lest look at all the stuff, it was a great place.
As Danny entered the store he couldn't help but smile at everything inside. He didn't know what he wanted to do with the rest of his life after Hogwarts but if he had a choice it would have to be something fun like owning a joke shop. Danny started walking around the store looking at all the things, he had seen most of them before but it always seemed new. Danny picked up a new screaming yo-yo; His last one was taken away by his mom after he woke her up in the middle of the night with it. Then a deck of self shuffling cards, His last pair was missing a few cards.
Danny couldn't help but try out the yo-yo before he got to the counter to pay for it. As soon as the yo-yo made it to the end of the string it started screaming so loud everyone turned around to look at him. The girl closes to him seemed the most surprised and he could help but feel embarrassed. "Umm sorry about that." He said smiling still embarrassed. "I was just ahh... making sure it worked." Danny said trying to make an excuse other then he just wanted to play with it.

Sadie had been in Diagon Alley for a couple of days now, and was becoming more and more depressed by the moment. She had already been to her favorite and most cheerful place in Diagon Alley, Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. The Weasley twins were great hosts, and wonderful people to know. Sadie was a regular customer of theirs and even had a tendency to have stuff mail ordered to her while at school. It seemed as if the moment she walked through their shop door, they knew something was wrong with her. She wondered if it was the way that she wasn't as smiling and cheerful herself, or the fact that she danced around the pygmy puffs instead of going straight to them like she had done so many days before. Sadie loved the pygmy puffs, they were cute and adorable and she couldn't help but to play with them more and more. Not today though. Today, Sadie didn't give the sleeping little fluff balls more than a passing glance. She wasn't here to play with the pygmys today, but to have herself cheered up. Fred and George seemed to instantly pick up on this as if they had some type of sadness radars. They tried everything from finishing each others' sentences to showing her some of their more newer inventions. Sadie couldn't help but to laugh at some of the things that Fred and George would do to make her smile, and it had worked. She walked out of the store about an hour later feeling better than she had when she first walked in.
Sadie walked back out into the streets of Diagon Alley, and wondered where she would head off to next with this new found cheerfulness. She wanted to go somewhere that would help the feeling last a bit longer, so she wondered around until she came upon Gambol and Japes joke shop. Sadie recalled some of the stories that Fred and George had told her about the things they would get here to bother the teachers with at Hogwarts. She wanted to go into the store, but was unsure of what she would find. Taking a deep breath, Sadie opened the door, and carefully stepped inside. She looked around in awe. She could see the Filibuster's Wet-start No Heat fireworks that she had heard so much about, as well as a few other things that she had heard about around the school. None of the things that she had heard about or already seen brought any interest to her. She gazed at the decks of self shuffling cards, and a funny quill that wrote the opposite of what it was told. Sadie picked up one of the quills, she thought it would be good for playing jokes on the other girls in her dorm, or even her friends. She found a few other things that she liked while she was there as well.
Sadie moved back to the self shuffling cards and some weird looking yo-yos that were right beside them. She was fascinated with the cards and trying to decide if she should buy herself a pack or not. It would awfully save her the trouble of having to shuffle herself, which was why she very seldom played with any type of cards. Sadie hated to have to shuffle them. Deciding that she would get a pack, she bent over to find a deck that was more yellow than the rest. She grabbed the cards and stood up, admiring her choice when all of a sudden there came a loud scream from behind her. Sadie's first reaction was a startled one for her first thoughts were that Diagon Alley was being attacked again. Sadie almost started shaking in fear before turning around to see a boy older than she playing with one of those weird looking yo-yos. "It's alright, really. I just had bad experiences last summer here, and it still makes me jumpy." Sadie said excepting the boy's apology. "Name's Sadie." She said just trying to be friendly. She had yet to figure out why she felt the need to introduce herself to everyone she knew. Sadie was glad that she hadn't decided on getting one of the weird looking yo-yos now that she knew what they did. "So that's what those things do. I was wondering why such weird looking yo-yos were in a joke shop, and now I know." She said laughing shyly.

Danny, noticing that the yo-yo was still hanging around rolled the string up quickly. "I'm Danny nice to meet you. I just wish I didn't have to scare you to do it." He said smiling. He started to remember what happened last year at the alley. Danny wasn't there but he remembered how much chaos was in the papers and how the alley looked when they started letting people back in it was terrible and now he felt guilty for making her bring up such bad memories. “Yea they make some of the loudest screams. They're fun when you know when the screaming is going to happen other then that they’re pretty scaring to hear.” He said looking at the yo-yo. “Last one I had was taken away by my mom after I used it while she was asleep.” Danny laughed as he remembered what happened.
“It was funny till she toke it away and grounded me for a month.” Danny could still remember how boring it was to be grounded for a month and his mom wouldn’t let up it lasted the whole month. Danny knew he wouldn't do that again or he would have to scare her in a way where he didn't get catch. Danny looked around the shop and everyone seemed to go back to what they were doing before he played with the yo-yo. “So are you school shopping too?” He said looking back over at Sadie. “I was till I came in here.” Danny said laughing then looked around at a few other things in the store seeing if there is anything else he could use at school.

((Danny, Sorry it took Sadie so long to reply. She's slowly getting her inspiration back Also sorry that it's a bit short))
Sadie laughed as Danny introduced himself. She really couldn’t help it. “It’s alright. It was a scare worth getting. It’s always nice to make a new acquaintance even if it took scaring me.” Sadie blushed a little with her smile. She did enjoy meeting new people, and now more than ever did she not want to be alone. Making a new friend or even a mere acquaintance was a welcome adjustment lately. “They do seem like fun, but getting one taken away couldn’t be fun at all.” She said thinking about what it would be like to scare someone with one of the screaming yo-yos.
Being grounded didn’t sound like fun, but the idea of being grounded by her mom again made her smile. She remembered the last time her mother had grounded her. It was just about four years ago, and Sadie had gotten the idea that a broom could fly. This was before she learned that certain brooms really could fly. She had found it funny, and so had her dad. She knew why her dad thought it was funny now, but still didn’t understand why her mom had never found it funny that her childish imagination had lead her to believe that an ordinary muggle broom could fly. She shook off the thoughts of her family so that she wouldn’t get depressed again. It was too soon to unload something like that onto Danny, and Sadie knew it.
“Yeah, I’m doing some school shopping. The gags and jokes anyway. I’m in Diagon Alley waiting on a friend too though. I just thought it would be fun to get a bit of the joke shopping done now. I’ll worry about books and everything else when the school owls come out.” Sadie tried not to ramble much about how she and Hayden had become such close and good friends so quickly last summer. It had a lot to do with the attacks.

Danny smiled then laughed remembering how his mom was till she toke the yo-yo away and grounded him. “Well all up onto her waking up and yelling then yelling at me was fun after that not so much.” He said smiling. “I think that was the second most scared I have ever been in my life when she woke up.” He said laughing. “She’s really, really scary when she’s mad and even more when she mad at me.” He added smiling looking over at Sadie. It was really scary now that he remembered it and he didn’t really want to so he tried to thinking about something else.
Danny smiled when she said she was also school shopping. “It’s kind of mandatory for all students to pick up stuff from a joke shop for school, If we don’t Mr. filch would be out of a job.” He said laughing then added. “So when I pull a prank or make a mess, I think I’m helping him in a way don‘t you?” He said laughing then went back to smiling. Danny never liked Mr. Filch but that was probably just because he always caught him for something and it was always so annoying. “Well I already have most of the things I already know I’m going to need for school but I only got them so early because I’ve had so much time with nothing better to do.” Danny said knowing something fun needed to happen during this summer or he would die of boredom.
“So you’re waiting for a friend? So how much time do we have till I have to scare another girl to meet her?” He said as a joke laughing.
(( Don't worry about it.)

Sadie smiled at the thought of an overly-angry mother. That was a sight that she knew all too well. She could picture the look on her mother's face when she had recieved her owl from Hogwarts. Sadie had to fight with her for a week before getting her to finally agree to let her go to the school. She had finally gotten her mother to agree with some help from her dad. She wondered why he was helping her so much, but then now she knew why. "I know that feeling all too well. My mom was like that. I had to fight with her just to get her to let me come to Hogwarts." Sadie said laughing. It always helped her to laugh about the fights that she had with her mom. It helped her not remember that there wouldn't be anymore of those fights.
"You're absolutely right." She said with a bit of excitement. She was glad to finally meet someone other than the Weasley twins who agreed that it was the students who allowed Mr. Filch a job. Without them who would he clean up after. The house elves cleaned the dorms and common rooms, and probably other parts of the castle as well, leaving Filch nothing to do as Caretaker. "Without us all he would have to do would be to sit in that office of his and stare at the ceiling. We have to pull pranks, it's actually kind of a tradition." Sadie was giggling by the time she had gotten this out of her mouth. She was starting to remember her first prank. Some older Slytherin had been teasing her again, and Sadie was in a foul mood already. She had just gotten some fresh dungbombs, and decided what better way to get back at the Slytherin boy. She had managed to slip it under his robes via a good kick from a few feet behind him just before it set off. It had taken her two weeks and a trip to the hospital wing to get her to stop laughing from it. She had always thought it had served him right.
"Yeah, my friend Hayden. She's going into her second year. You won't have to frighten her. I'll be happy to introduce you." Sadie said smiling again

Danny started laughing about how pranks helped Mr. filch. “I know that’s why I don’t see why he gets so mad when someone does a prank or makes a mess. We give him something to do.” He said laughing remembering the first time he ever met Mr. filch up close, it wasn’t the greatest moment of his life. “The only thing I think that is worse then running into Mr. filch is Herbology but that’s only because I’m so bad at it.” He said laughing but it was true, and he wished he would get better at it but he didn’t see how in that class, he was better with potions then Herbology.
Danny smiled when she said he wouldn’t have to scare he friend she would introduce them. “Good, scaring one cute girl is enough for one day.” He said laughing. Danny had to admit William, his step dad, was having more of effect on him then he thought. Lately his mom was making him hang out with William a lot more then normal, probably some type of bonding thing but the way william kept talking seemed to be rubbing off on him. William always complimented people as he talked to them which Danny never used to do but now it seemed to come out ever now and then lately.
“So aside from getting scared by weird fifth years do you have anything interesting planed for the summer?” He said pretty sure everyone had something great they were looking forward to. Danny didn’t have anything like that this summer was going to be so boring.
(Sorry it toke me so long it's been a very weird week.)

Sadie smiled a bit at Danny as he told her the few things he found worse than running into Mr. Filch. "Well maybe we will have herbology together and can pair up sometime. I'm not as brilliant as some but I get decent grades in it." She said before she realized how it sounded. Sadie was trying to not sound like a pathetic little first year, but it wasn't turning out that way. She looked at Danny and realized that he was fairly cute. Sadie shook the thought. She didn't need to become one of those flirty girls who worried only about boys. She had so much other stuff to worry about instead. Like when she was eventually going to be able to return to her parents home to sort through their belongings.
Sadie was shocked to hear the fifth year call her cute. She looked at him slightly red faced. She could feel her cheeks flushing, as she tried to shake off the feeling. Being called cute was not something she was used to and was a bit taken back by it. She couldn't believe that someone other than herself would ever think that she was cute. It had never crossed her mind that it might be possible. Her dad had always called her his cutie, but weren't dads supposed to say things like that to their only daugthers.
Sadie sighed just a bit at the question of what her plans were this summer. "Well I was going to go back to my parents to sort through belongings. They died sometime during my first year. But I'm not really ready to do that by myself so I owled my friend, and I plan on staying in Diagon Alley until she comes, or if she's not able to come, then until time to leave for Hogwarts again." Sadie realized as she recited her plans how pathetic they sounded, but it was her life. There was so much more that she kept hidden from the other students with the exception of Hayden.
((Sorry It took me so so long, I just have been having a wierd time, and no laptop to work on things when away from the house))

Danny smiled as she said they might be paired up in Herbology. “That would be great if we could be paired up together sometime. “ He said still smiling and looking at her. “I hope we do have class together now.” Danny said laughing looking at her. Then just started to laugh again as she started to blush a little bit when he called her cute and he wasn’t kidding she was pretty cute. Danny kept laughing till she seemed to sigh at his question about what she going to do this summer. Danny was sad to hear that both her parents had died it must have been a terrible thing to go through. “I’m sorry to hear that.” He said after she said her parents had died.
“Well I know we don’t know each other very well but if you can’t find anyone to help you with something you can always look for me.” He said smiling at her knowing how odd that must have seemed to have sounded from someone she just met. “I live only a few minutes away so it’s not that far.” He added probably just adding to how odd Danny must have seemed right now. Danny looked around the shop as a few people went in and out of the store. “Hey.” Danny paused for a second. “You want to get some ice cream or something?” He asked looking down at her smiling. “My treat for scaring you before.” He said laughing.
