Waking up to the sound of footsteps Morgan grinned. Her parents had been perfectly fine with her staying home because they knew she didn’t like her cousins at all. Holding her breath for as long as possible she knew they wouldn’t change their minds if she looked sick so she added some hot water from her bathroom sink and then hurried and jumped back into bed, tangling the covers up to look like she had been asleep and sweating. “I’m coming in Mo!” she heard her mothers voice say. “Okay.” Morgan said back quietly, acting as if she were tired. After a seconds pause her door opened revealing a tall blonde hair, so blonde in fact it looked white. Her mothers green eyes were shining brightly as usual, but the shape of her mouth revealed her small bit of unhappiness. Her lips were sat in a straight line, thin and crisp it made her look like a mean old grouch. Pulling the covers off Morgan’s head her mother sat down on the edge expecting Morgan to sit up for conversation. After about twenty minutes later it had been decided that Morgan could stay home for a week by herself with only the elves as company. Grinning as her mother gave her a bit of money she sat it in her desk drawer and then went to her dad to ask for some more. Receiving much more from him than her mom she put it in the drawer as well. Her parents leaving she decided to get ready and hurry to leave.
Reaching her bathroom doorknob she opened it and let herself into it, making sure to get the water boiling before stepping in. About thirty minutes later she stepped out and groaned, remembering she had no wand. Because of that minor fact she had to use muggle electronics, which was why their were hidden plugs in her bathroom so no one would find them. Opening up all of her drawers with her keys she pulled out her hair dryer, straightener, and all of her makeup and jewelry and beauty helpers. After brushing, drying, straightening her hair she looked at her makeup and added brown eyeliner, brown mascara and some pale pink lip gloss. Grinning at her appearance she walked to her closet and went through every piece of clothing she owned. Groaning she had to settle for a pair of black shorts and a white tank top. Slipping on her pair of muggle running cleats she grabbed her black athletic bag and emptied it and then put all of her money and gold inside of it. Quickly french braiding her hair she got went to the fire place so she could get to Diagon alley quicker.
Throwing the powder into the fire place she said “Diagon Alley and a few seconds later found herself satnding at the entrance. Walking in she decided to skip breakfast and get some ice cream instead. Grinning she went to the counter of Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlor and ordered a chocolate sundae. Paying she went and found a seat under one of the brightly colored umbrellas outside of the parlor, just llike they had at every other parlor and café on the street.

Stryder Stalk woke up in the dark filthy room, which he treasured. He looked over at the empty bed next to his which made him miss his cousin Tom even more. Stryder got dressed and walked outside. The sun had just risen. He couldn't believe he was awake so early. Stryder walked over to the pasture and saw that the horses had already been fed, that meant that he wasn't the only one up. Blue, Stryder's horse, came up to him and nuzzled on his shoulder. After a couple minutes of petting the huge horse, Stryder returned to his house.
He walked into the kitchen to find his aunt Brooke and his cousin Brigitte making breakfast. He couldn't figure out why they were up so early. After chewing a piece of toast for to long, his family reminded him that they were going to Diagon Alley so Brigitte could by some new things. Stryder wasn't quite sure what the 5th year needed that she didn't already have, but he wouldn't mind heading out to Diagon Alley. It had been too long since he had last seen one of his friends from Hogwarts.
After waiting for Brigitte to get ready they finally headed out to the living room. Stryder yawned as he grabbed some Floo Powder and walked into the fireplace. This routine was getting old, he couldn't wait till he could avaparate. Stryder said Diagon Alley and within thirty seconds he was standing in the middle of the road while many witches and wizards scurried about.
Stryder waited until his aunt and cousin appeared and then went off. He wasn't sure where he could find one of his friends but he was sure that he would if he walked around. The first place that came to mind was Quality Quidditch Supplies. Stryder was eager to buy a new broom and hopefully catch a glimpse of one of the World Cup players. Stryder started walking by Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlor and couldn't help but to notice Morgan Collins sitting there eating an ice cream.
Stryder had remembered the conversation that Drew and him had had about girls and pick up lines. Stryder knew Morgan a little bit but not too well. This would be the perfect opportunity to use on of the pick up lines Tom had suggested. Stryder smiled and walked up to Morgan who looked like she was enjoying herself very much.
"So Morgan Collins what does it feel like being the prettiest girl in Diagon Alley?"
Stryder said as he sat next to Morgan. Stryder wasn't as cocky as he seemed and he hoped that Morgan realized that. Stryder actually thought that this pick up line was pretty good considering the other ones his cousin and Drew had suggested. Stryder smiled and waited for Morgan's answer, or a slap.

Glancing up as a voice spoke to her Morgan rolled her eyes as he sat down. "By chance," she asked, "Do I know you?" keeping a now emotionless face she lied, she knew exactly who he was, at least, his name year and house, but that was good enough for her. At the moment all she knew was that had some really corny pick up lines he had obviously not came up with himself. She knew that for a fact. At home she had received many of them because she was the only girl that she knew of that was able to perform magic to make herself clean and all that kiind of stuff. But the ones that had come up with them themselves knew exactly how to say them and the right moment, he however was a little off on the timing because he had sat down as she had wiped ice cream off her self. "You know," she said to him, "Out of all of the lines I've have heard that comes in second to worst!" Lifting the spoon to her mouth she took qnother bite hoping that the Stryder might actuall turn out as an okay person because he probably didn't plan on getting up and she had never had the nerve to be rude enough and ask a person to leave, unless it was a Slytherin she was talking to, or a family member. The easiest person to blow off though was her older cousin Kyle. He was always loud, conceited and obnoxious. The worst thing was that he didn't realize it so Morgan just blew him off and was always smarting off at him. Wondering if her friend would have blown Stryder off with ice cream all over his face she waited for him to say or do something. Taking another bite she sat the cherry on the top deciding to save the best for last. She hated eating all the good the stuff first and then being stuck with nasty stuff her mom would make her eat for ordering it. Thirsty she got up and bought a water before sitting back down at the small round table. ((unsure of what to write made this seem really short lol btw- the pick up lines need to be more original, for future refrence~))

This is what Tom called the 'ouch moment'. Stryder's pick up line hadn't worked at all. He didn't actually think it would have but all the other lines seemed really rude compared to this one, then again maybe that's the kind of girl Morgan is. Stryder wasn't to sure, he didn't know anyone that had gone out with Morgan. The only thing that he knew was that he had to think of a better line fast or else he is going to be the laughing 'stalk' of hogwarts when he gets back.
"Of course you know me, Marcy told me you were looking for the man of your dreams and here I am. Stryder Stalk."
Stryder wasn't sure why he used Marcy's name whenever he talked to girls. Perhaps it was because she was popular with many of the students and was the closest chick friend Stryder had. He wondered if this even lamer pick up line would work. He didn't think so considering Morgan got water and came back. That was fine though, he was going to use the ultimate pick up line in any second.
Stryder looked at Morgan and sighed. He moved around in his seat again and put a serious look on his face. He looked straight in her eyes hoping that this pick up line would at least make her smile a bit, other wise there would be no way he would go to the party she was having without being humiliated. Here goes nothing...
"Morgan, if you have a chance to become anything on earth what would you want to become?"

Confused with what he was coming out of his mouth she looked sort of suprised and amused at the same time. Hearing his last question she grinned. "Less annoyed and more amused than I am right now!" she told him. She wasn't neccessarily being rude, but she wasn't being completely nice either. You could say she was giving him a hard time. She did this to almost every boy who thought they could pick up anyone with a line. She had only gone out with one of them once and that was a guy from home who was her best friend Cal's brother, not the best story for her to remember like she did. He was the one that had introduced her to her least favorite line. It was where a guy would ask 'Did it hurt?' and the girl wuld say did what hurt and then the actuall line came, 'When you fell from Heaven?'.
As always she had been nice enough to go and when he asked her again she had politely declined and a few minutes later she had seen him with another girl snogging in at a table at a muggle club for teens. She had rolled her eyes and walked off annoyed and mad that she had actually even talked to him. She now just smarted off to the ones that annoyed her and the ones that amused her she would just talk to and most likely decline the number one question they usually wanted to ask. Though most girls would jump at the chance of Stryder asking them out Morgan meerily wondered why. So far all he had made her see was that he had unoriginal lines and amused himself easily.
She figured it may get to him that his friend Andrew, Drew as most call him, is more of the known ladies man, so they say. She had never encountered with either of them until now. She figured Stryder just wasn't able to find anything to do or anyone to talk to so he found the nearest partially known face he could find.
(i don't know how short it is, but I am sorry if it is!)

Stryder smiled at her answer, even though he knew he was the one annoying her. He hoped Morgan didn't think he was to much of an idiot. Stryder still wasn't quite sure why he had even started this little 'game'. He knew that Tom was a pretty good at flirting but the thing about Tom was that he wouldn't use it on any girl, just one that he really liked. Stryder wasn't to sure about Drew. He's known Drew since their first year and he has seen all the girls that run after him and the girls that he has run after but Stryder still wasn't sure if he actually what he was or wanted to be. Stryder wasn't sure about himself either. Stryder loved competeting against Drew for girls, but he at the same time he didn't want to be seen as the hott boy who would swoon, well attempt to swoon, girls and then move on. After Catrina Stryder had changed a lot.
He looked at Morgan before he answered. He didn't know that much about her, just that she was in his grade and in Hufflepuff. Derrick had never talked about her before. Stryder thought she was pretty though and hoped that she wouldn't totally hate him if this final pick up line didn't work. It was Stryder favorite because he had made it up himself.
"Well to me, I want to be your tear drop: I was born in your eyes, live on your cheeks, and die on your lips. "

Hearing the last one she flared her nostrils as she did when someone was starting to actually annoy her. "Okay! I got the fact that you like saying stuff like that but can you actually say something that hasn't been written for you please?" she asked him, not wanting to be mean and ruin her day and possibly his. She was still begging all gods in the world that he wouldn't say the one she hated the most because she had no idea howshe would react, but knew it wasn't going to be extrememly pleasant. Calming herself down she looked at him. "A corny line is a turn off to a lot of people I know. I would rather have a real conversation, not one that feels like I am talking to a hollow log!" she told him a bit more nice this time.
Lifting the drink toward her she took a gulp of it and felt the ice cream wash down. Tossing the rest of her ice cream in the trash she ate the cherry and tossed the napkin as well. Hearing herself groan at the sun she turned the other way to were she was sitting with her back to the table and her legs crossed in the sunlight that drifted past her head. Taking another sip of water she wwent through her bag and pulled out some gum. Sticking a piece in her mouth she asked Stryder if he wantd a piece and waited for his answer before putting it up, remembering how long some people would think about if they wanted that kind and all that kind of stuff.

Morgan was something else. She reminded Stryder of Marcy. Marcy would have had the exact same reaction. It wasn't easy being a ladies man, well maybe this wasn't the best way to get girls to like him. Stryder had always been unsure about the whole pick up line thing. Could you really have a girl go crazy over you by using some silly little phrase? Apparently not.
"Alright I'm done. I thought the last one was pretty good though, I gues pick-up lines don't work at all. Thanks and sorry."
Stryder said as he reached for the gum smiling. He had to look at the bright side, he hadn't been slapped and he was still sitting there, plus now he can tell Drew to use those lines and see what happens to him.
"Ya conversations are a lot better. So Morgan, you don't know me or were you just trying to block me out of your mind for my own sake?"
Stryder smiled taking out his wallet grabbing a few coins in order to get himself an ice cream. He looked at Morgan wondering if she wanted another one considering hers was long gone.

Seeing Stryder actuall talk was an amazement. It had never worked before. Usually the person would just walk off dumbfounded. "Both!" she told him, referring to when he ha daske dwhy she had said she didn't know him. "I knew your name, you yourself were the mystery!" Sitting her bag beside her she wondered what she was doing today. She had all ready thought and thought but only came up with one thing. She had wanted to come here mainly to see her friends. Looking at Stryder she wondered if she had just started or made one. Well logically he was the one that started it but either way, who knows. Thinking about the day she remembered she was low on her candy stash. She had definately gotten enough with her if you added up the small bit she had gotten from her dad but she couldn't think of a candy shop that was located in Diagon Alley.
"Do you know of a good candy store locaed here or anywhere near here?" she asked him curiously, figuring that if he was a typical boy he would know the majority of candy shops. All of the people she hung out with loved candy, especially her friends fomr home. When she invited them over they would play games and gamble with candy, winner got to eat it all. Because Morgan's advantage of being magical she was able to win most of the time so she would eat half and save the rest for her emergency candy stash. Out of the last month she had a total of three hundred four pieces in her cabinet. Grinning at the thought she knew she couldn't eat them and they were only for emergencies but she couldn't help but think about what a large gobstopper would taste like right then.

Stryder put his wallet away as he listened to Morgan answer. He couldn't help but laugh. He stood up and looked at her. She seemed like an awesome girl, I mean she had put up with his awful pick up lines. She was still giving Stryder a chance to have a friendship, and that's all he wanted. He didn't want a girlfriend, just another chick friend, pick up lines aren't the best way to get chickfriends though.
"That's cool I gues. Well let me think. I think there's a small shop by the Menagerie. I forget it's name, nothing compared to Honeydukes of course, but if you want candy we can go there."
Stryder wasn't quite sure if Morgan wanted him to go with her but it was another way to show her the real Stryder. He got up and waited for her to get up before he would make him way towards the Menagerie. He liked Diagon Alley but Hogsmeade was a lot better to him. There were a lot more kids at Hogsmeade and fun stores. Then again Diagon Alley had a lot more stores and it was where you could buy the basics. Stryder wasn't sure exactly what kind of candy Morgan wanted but he hoped she could find it at the candy store.

"Sure why not!" she said grinning. "No matter what the situation candy always solves the problem!" she said to him again, quoting her cousins motto. She loved candy and ate it all the time she would eat anything that had sugar in it actually. Thinking of candy she remembered when she had bought almost a fourth of Honeydukes and shared half of her purchase with her friend Cougar when they had met up in Hogsmeade. Grinning she remembered how long it took to pry the caramel from her fingers when her mom had seen her stash in her bag. Her thoughts heading back to what she was doing she tied her bag and then stood up. "Where's this candy shop at?" she asked him, her voice a little hoarse with her mouth already watering at the thought of candy.
Lifting her head toward the street she looked down the road and looked around. Searching for the shop she saw a robes shop, trick shop, an animal shop, and much more of a variety. She now knew her plans for the day. She would most likely spend it shopping or browsing or even pigging out on candy and sugar of all kinds. "What's your favorite candy?" she asked Stryder curiously turning back toward him after finishing her long train of thoughts. Placing her bag on her shoulders she stood in the middle of the street unsure of which way to go waiting for Stryder to lead her somewhere.

She wanted him to go with her. Stryder wasn't doomed for humiliation after all. He started walking towards where his aunt and cousin had walked off too. He hoped that he didn't run into them. Brigitte would cause way to much drama. His cousin was set on the idea that Stryder had a crush on Maryn and if she saw him with 'another' girl she would flip out on him. Brigitte didn't even know Maryn which made Stryder wonder why she cared so much about what he thought of his friend.
Stryder wasn't even sure what he thought of girls anymore. People constantly bugged him to know who he liked and who his next girlfriend would be. Why did it matter? Stryder had had one girlfriend at Hogwarts and that was Catrina, it took him a while to get over her and he didn't want the same thing to happen with someone else as it had with Catrina. He wondered if that was part of the reason he would flirt with many girls, so he didn't stick to much on one. Stryder was too young to care about girlfriends right now, he had a few more years at Hogwarts, plenty of time to find a new girl.
Stryder walked by Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions as Morgan asked him where the shop was and what his favorite candy was. He couldn't narrow it down to one candy though, there were different categories. There was his favorite muggle candy: skittles. Then there were his two favorite candies at Honeydukes: sherbet balls and pepper imps. When shopping in Diagon Alley though, Stryder would go to Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes for Canary Creams. Stryder wasn't sure what answer to give to Morgan.
"The shops up here. I'd have to say my favorite candy would be either Canary Creams or sherbet balls. How about you?"
He settled on two, he couldn't help it. Stryder loved the feeling that both of the sweets gave. Canary Creams would allow Stryder to be a Canary for a little bit and sherbet balls would make him levitate. Stryder hadn't realized the connection between the treats and himself. He loved flying, therefore he loved any candy that would let him fly, even a little bit, without a broom.
They finally reached the Menagerie and Stryder saw some people buying cats. He continued to walk next door to a much smaller shop displaying the name "Smurtie's Spectacle Sweets." The shope wasn't too popular with many students due to it's lack of pizaaz. Compared to Honeydukes, the store was like Hogs Head. Morgan wanted candy though, and this place had candy. Stryder opened the door for Morgan and walked through. The store had three other people in it. On each wall there were buckets with different candy names printed on it. Stryder walked over to the bucket which was named "Cauldron Cakes, Licorice Wands, Pumpkin Pasties." The store wasn't as nice, but it was cheap, and Stryder loved that.
"What kind of candy are you craving?" He said as he threw a coin down on a nearby desk where a sleeping man was sitting. He snorted at the sound of the coin hitting the desk but didn't wake up. Stryder grabbed to licorice wands and gave one to Morgan as he bit into his.

Following Stryder Morgan grinned as they passed the shop he had been talking about earlier, the Menagerie and then saw that they arrived in front of a small shop called Smurtie's Spectacle Sweets. Grinning as she saw candy though the windows she picked up her pace and looked at all the candy. Though no comparison to any of the other shops she had been to she saw there was a big variety of candy. Bobbing her head slowly to the song in her head Morgan was just about to go look at the shelves when she saw Stryder toss a coin at the man at the counter. Taking th elicorice wand he had offred her she deicided to answer his questions. "I think tht my top favorite candies are anything that have a miture of chocolate and peppermint in them!" she said only to hear him ask her what she was craving. Grinning she said, "Definately chocolate frogs!"
Spotting them she grabbed two or three and placed them in a small basket she had grabbed when they entered the shop. Seeing Strydeer at the Cauldron cakes she grabbed a few of those as well. Grinning she added more and more candy until her basket was full. "Man!" she said aloud, "This won't even last me a day of my friends!" she said, referring to when they were gambling. Lifting her head she asked Stryder what all he was getting and wondered where she woould put all of her stuf becuase she still had a whole day to go and a whole bag of candy already full.
Excusing her self she went and poked the man until he woke up so she could pay for her stuff. Taking another bite of her licorice wna dshe paid him the money and then stuffed it all into her bag so that she wouldn't lose any of it. Walking around the candy store some more to wait for Stryder she realized that her bag was lighter yet heavier than before. Retying her shoes she now became impatient and began walking a bit faster as she went through the aisle.

Stryder savored the chewy licorice in his mouth. The last time he had had a licorice wand was at Christmas. He wasn't too fond of them but today he was dying for one. Stryder held the candy in his mouth as he walked around looking at the different sweets. He had forgotten about the baskets located at the front of the store in which you put all of your candy in. Then when you got to the register the baskets would say how much of what you had and give you the total price.
Chocolate and pepperiment didn't sound too good to Stryder but when Morgan suggested Chocolate Frogs he immediatly agreed. He walked over the biggest bucket where several dozens packages were sitting. He grabbed six frogs and put them in the basket. Stryder let Morgan wander around the shop as he thought of what else he would buy. He knew that Jeff, his uncle, would be upset if Stryder didn't bring him home anything. Stryder walked over to where the Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans where, and grabbed two packages.
Stryder followed Morgan over to the register, not really sure of what she meant by her friends taking her candy, when he saw a shelf with Droobles Best Blowing Gum. Stryder grabbed a few packages and a lollipop that was nearby and finally went to the counter. The basket rattled off all of Stryder's items and displayed a price. Stryder pulled out his wallet and gave the now grumpy cashier some money. He then dumped all of his candy in a plastic bag and walked over to Morgan.
"Now what do you want to do?"
Stryder asked as he opened the door for Morgan and grabbed some of the Drooble's gum he bought. He put it in his mouth and the licorice flavor disappeered and instead blue rasberry filled his mouth. Stryder chewed his gum waiting for Morgan to suggest something and he blew a big blue bubble followed by several others.

I love candy! I love candy!, was the only thing processing as Morgan ate another chocolate frog. As she ate on piece she felt like she had to eat another, after three pieces she knew was beginning to get to hyper and decided to stop. Tossing her trash into a can she grinned as her head was spinning with Sugar. "I don't know where I want to go!" she said, her words coming out faster than her brain was spinning. As the candy sugar wore off. Thinking about she decided she wanted to go everywhere and be everywhere all day. Looking at Stryder she said, "Well, I guess I planned on going everywhere today, so if you have a shop that is on your mind and you want to go there just say so!"
Grinning at the thought of shopping she made another note to get her dad to come up here and get her a new broom, her old one seem to be falling apart after three years of flying in the rain around her house. Almost laughing at the memory she remembered when she had ridden it last summer and had been caught off gaurd by the rain and ran right into the wall of her house. Her dad had just laughed while her mother had gone insane.
Her mom was the over protective crazy one and her dad just sort of did whatever whenever. Thinking about this she knew her father tried to make her mom have fun all the time, but ever since the death eaters attacked she had been completely up tight. She didn't want her second child killed, because the first one was never home.
Not many people knew of her older brother Kyle. He had graduated all ready and worked in Egypt like a few others chose to. He was twenty and she was thirteen, a weird age differentce, but she didn't care much. He was only her half brother anyway.
Kyle had told her he would be coming down some time this summer and visit, but he hadn't said when. The only thing morgan was afraid of though was if he were to come down the day of her party. As she had that in her brain she wondered if she should invite Stryder. He seemed okay since he wasn't showing off anymore. Deciding she would she turned toward him, " What are you doing July twenty fifth?" she asked him as they walked.

He wasn't too sure what he wanted to do. There were tons of things to do around Diagon Alley but he barely had any money now and his aunt would be looking for him eventually. He looked at Morgan and couldn't help but laugh at her sugar high.
Morgan seemed like a cool girl. Stryder still couldn't believe how stupid he actually was being before. He really needed to stop listening to Tom and just be himself. He was pretty sure that Morgan liked him better as Stryder than a boy with a thousands pick up lines.
"Well we can go to the Quidditch Shop. I was supposed to head there anyway."
Stryder was going to go and hopefully buy some new equipment. This year he was going to tryout for Chaser on the Gryffindor team and his equipment was old and worn out. He hadn't bought anything new in a while. Even though Tom had insisted on Stryder having his, but Stryder wasn't to certain that he wanted to sport Hufflepuff colors on the field.
Stryder looked at her when she asked that question. He had no clue what he was really doing. Sure he had rodeos this summer but he would mostly find out about them the day or two before. The 25th? He wasn't sure what was going. He thought about it and decided that even if he had a rodeo that day he would still go do something with Morgan, whatever she wanted to do on the 25th.
"Well I might have a rodeo that day but I could probably do something anyway? Why?"
Stryder asked as they walked closer to the Quidditch shop. There, like always, were about a dozen kids looking through the window and inside.

Still thinking things over her head she jumped when he replied. "Oh, sorry!" she said. "Um I was inviting loads of people from Hogwarts to a party at my house and I wasn't sure if anyone had spread anything. Anyway I haven't gotten much of a start on the invites but whatever." she told him quickly embarassed that she hadn't been paying attention. Recovering her face as quickly as possible she wondered if he now thought her a total ditz. Shaking her head in frustration she looked around the streets as they walked. "Quidditch store is fine!" she told him. "Well actually it's good! I've been meaning to get some new gloves." She finished, thinking of how she loved plaing a keeper when her mom was gone and her dad would stretch a room for her so they could play. Thinking of their most rescent game she remembered how he had been to busy to play so he had bewitched a quaffle for her so she could play.
"Please play?" she had asked her dad when he said no. She had ended up sulking after her game and wouldn't speak to her father for a whole day. She knew she was being spoiled but he knew she was just kidding so they both dramatized it and made it worse, her mother finally figured it out and sent them both away and they had to miss lunch. Giggling at the look on her fathers face she drifted back to the present and found that Stryder still hadn't said anything.
