Lark walked through the pooring rain to another store. She didnt mind getting wet, it felt good to her. She pushed some of her hair behind her ear. She was going to buy a new quill for the end of the year, her old one was getting well....old and she needed a new one. She stepped into the covered doorway and wipped her feet. She walked into the store and noticed a large wave of heat wash over her. She didnt exactly care about getting dry but she was glad that it was warmer inside. A kind elderly lady walked up to her and asked if she needed help. Even though the sales people were just trying to help they sometime got on her nerves.
"No thank you" Lark said with a stern tone. She didnt want to give the lady the wrong idea but she also didnt want her to follow her around like a lost puppy. As the lady walked away mumbling something about youth Lark began to look around. There were plenty of nice quills but they were all sortoff ugly. Finally Lark decided on a nice eagle feather quill and she ended up also buying some light blue ink, it looked nicest.
Walking out of the store the first thing Lark noticed was that it had begun to rain even harder. Now that the rain was trying to drive her into the ground, Lark did mind getting wet. She walked into a tea shop that was right around the corner and sat down to wait out the heavy rain. This place wasnt heated by a nice fire, instead it was pretty chilly. This was when Lark wished she had her nice heavy Hogwarts cloak to wrap around herself. Lark bought some nice hot Thai tea to warm herself up and sat down in a nice plushy chair in the corner.

Hayden and her older brother, Ian, were walking around Diagon Alley, just shopping around a bit. When they had first arrived, it was bright and sunny, but now... it was raining quite hard, and Hayden had an angry frown on her small face. She hated when it rained! It got her hair all wet, and everything other part of her body. She had a huge, black cloak wrapped around her, with the hood draping over her face, to where she almost couldn't see anything. At least that was helping her to keep some of the rain away.
"Ian, can't we go someplace inside?" she whined. "Yeah..." he replied with a heavy sigh. "Just hang on, OK? I have to make a few stops." Hayden was a bit confused by what he said, because, if he made a few stops, then they would be going inside. She shrugged and decided not to question him. Besides, her brother is just weird. Well, that was Hayden's opinion.
They walked inside a book shop, and Hayden sighed with relief as she pulled the hood off of her head. It was very warm inside there, and Hayden rushed over to the fireplace, to try to warm herself a bit. Once she was satisfied, and almost dry, she hurried over to her brother, and stayed close. Normally, she didn't like her brother all too well, but she had only been to Diagon Alley a couple of times, and she was quite scared of the thought of getting lost. In the end, they hadn't gotten anything, because Ian hadn't found what he was looking for. Hayden heard her brother mumbling, "Well, that was a waste of time." "No it wasn't." pointed out Hayden in a matter-of-factly way. "We got to dry ourselves off a bit!" "Whatever." he muttered. Hayden shrugged again, and followed her brother out of the shop.
When they walked outside, it was raining down even harder. Hayden could barely walk from the strong wind, and the rain almost pushing the poor girl into the ground. She held onto her brother for dear life, as they walked. "Umm... Ian?" she asked. "Can we go somewhere 'till the rain dies down now?" she asked. "Sure." he replied, as he broke into a semi-sprint. Right when they rounded the corner, her brother quickly pulled her into a tea shop.
Hayden again sighed with relief when she was finally out of the man (and woman) crushing rain! Well, at least that's what Hayden had called it. Once she walked inside, she also noticed that it was pretty cold inside. Hayden shivered slightly and walked up to the counter with her brother. He ordered tea, and Hayden decided on hot chocolate, since she didn't like tea very much. She noticed a girl, that looked a bit older than her, sitting on a one of the big plush chairs, that looked very comfortable at the time. Hayden carefully held her hot chocolate close to her, to warm her up a bit, as she walked over to a chair, pretty close to the girl. She sat down, and got herself comfortable, and placed her mug next to her, on an end table. She turned to the girl and said, "Hi! I'm Hayden!" She then extended her hand to the girl, a big smile on her face.

Lark took a sip of her tea and burned her tongue on it. She quickly pulled the cup away from her mouth and grabbed scalded tongue. As the pain subsided she began to blow on the tea to cool it down, she might have wanted hot tea but this was to hot. As Lark sat in her chair practically freazing, with only the tea to warm her, a boy a some what older than her came sprinting in pulling a little girl in after him.
The first thing Lark noticed about them was that the girl and the boy had nice warm cloaks to wrap around them selves. Lucky Lark thought sinking into her chair, as deep as she could go without getting lost, trying to stay warm. The girl ordered a cup of hot co-co and she looked around the room. She spotted Lark in her plushy chair and walked over. Plopping down in a chair pretty close to Lark she stuck out her hand and introduced herself.
"Hi! I'm Hayden!" she said followed by one of the biggest smiles Lark had ever seen. She wasnt normally one to hang out with little kids but this girl was just truely cheerful. Lark shook hands with the girl and took a sip of her almost cold tea. A little sad that her tea was now cold Lark said hello.
"Well hello Hayden. I'm Lark, and what can I do for you on such a lovely day"? the rain wasnt exactally what most people would call lovely but Lark loved it. She sipped her tea again and it was even colder. Then Lark noticed that she was warmer, her hands must of been sucking the heat out of the cup. Lark decided enough was enough and she pulled out her wand and whispered "Caeruleus Tintinnabulum Flammo". Her wand shot out small blue flame at the bottom of her mug and went out. Lark would now have to wait again for her tea to cool off because she had just made it to hot to drink again.

The other girl introduced herself as Lark. Hayden smiled again, and said, "Nice to meat you Lark!" Lark then asked her if she could help Hayden on such a 'wonderful day'. Hayden made a slightly confused face, when the older girl had made that comment, because it wasn't a wonderful day, it was actually a pretty crummy one. Hayden shrugged and replied, "Well, I was just looking for someone to talk to for a bit, or just to wait 'til the rain stops."
She watched as the girl whispered some funny words, and little flames shot out of the end of her wand. "Wow..." Hayden whispered. She had only just recently found out that she was a witch, and all of this magic stuff was still a bit knew to her, and she still found herself extremely fascinated at what it could do.
Hayden turned back to the older girl and asked, "So, do you go to Hogswarts? I'm going next year! I'm going to be a first year! I'm hoping to be sorted into Hufflepuff, by the way! What house are you in?" she rambled on cheerfully.

"Wow" Hayden said in response to the flame Lark had sent out of her wand. It was a fairly simple trick and it was fun to see how some people reacted to it. Lark loved to do magic it always gave her a kind of thrill knowing that she could actually do magic and it wasn't a dream. Lark smiled at the little girl as she sipped her tea and forgetting that it was still hot she burned her tongue. Lark grabbed her tongue while Hayden rambled on asking her if she went to Hogwarts, telling Lark about how she wanted to be in Hufflepuff, and wondering what house Lark was in. She was very proud of her house, Ravenclaw, and they were pretty sure they were going to win the house cup this year.
"I'm in Ravenclaw" Lark said, around her burnt tongue, puffing out her chest some as she said the name "Hufflepuff is a good house though I know a couple of kids in that house and there all so nice" Lark smiled remembering Thomas and Zenia her newest friends in Huffle. Lark could feel her tea now cooling so she took another sip, satisfied that it was cool but not to cool she looked out the window. The rain was now begging to stop and Lark was just about ready to leave. "Hey Hayden would you like to go shopping with me"? she smiled "I'm just about done shopping but it would be a joy to have you come with me".

Lark said that she was in Ravenclaw, and Hayden smiled. Her brother had a few friends in Ravenclaw, and they all seemed very nice. The girl asked if Hayden would like to go shopping with her, and Hayden smiled. "Hang on a second." she said, as she rushed over to Ian, who was also sitting down in a big, comfy chair. "Hey Ian? Can I go shopping with Lark?" she asked, pointing to the Lark. "I just met her, and she wants to know if I wanna go shopping with her. So, can I?" Ian reluctantly agreed and Hayden walked back over to Lark. "OK." she said. "My brother said that it was OK, we just need to come back here when we're done." she said with a smile.
((Terribly sorry for the shortness.))

((No prob. I hope you dont mind my shortness))
Lark watched as Hayden ran up to the boy, Lark definitely knew it was her brother now, she had interred with. She couldn't hear Hayden but she could imagine how the conversation was going. Her brother must of said yes because seconds later Hayden ran back to Lark saying that she could go. Lark drained half of her tea in three gulps and stood up placing the stubborn drink on the table. She wasn't quiet sure she knew where she wanted to go but starting with the menagerie, her new little brother was cool and she needed to get him something for his birthday.
"That's awesome" she smiled and waved to Hayden's brother in thanks and turned back to Hayden. Lark towered above the small girl but she didn't mind it was like this allot and Lark had gotten used to it. She pulled the hood of her cloak over her head and started to talk some more. "Well since it's still raining we should start somewhere close" Lark didn't mind getting wet but she wanted her supplies to stay dry for the time being. "I was thinking the menagerie if that's OK with you"? Lark was sure Hayden would say it was OK but she just wanted to make sure.
