Dana threw her package’s onto a free chair at a restoran in Diagon Alley. Knockturn Alley most certainly wasn’t her favorite place to be – that’s why Dana never went there alone – but the potions supplies there were absolutely the best. Leaving her cousin to venture the darker Alley Dana returned to Diagon to have a quick brunch. That’s why she was here. A quick glance over the dining room showed no one she knew, which was understandable. Her relatives didn’t come here and most students in Hogwarts couldn’t afford dining in the most luxurious restoran in Diagon.
Getting a private table in the back where the most desired seating place was, Dana opened the menu brought to her calmly. She really wasn’t dressed for the occasion herself either, wearing jeans, high-heeled boots and a short-sleeved silk-blouse but the waiters here knew her and that she could pay. Meaning that service was first-class as always. “I’ll have steamed salmon a la carte with rice and pepper sauce,” Dana said after having flipped through the menu lazily, “And carbonized mineral water. Seeing the question on the waiters eyes, Dana dismissed him with a careless wave, “I’ll decide on dessert later.”
The waiter bowed and retreated, leaving Dana to look around the room. Raising a light-pink rose bud on the table and smelled it calmly when a shadow fell over the table. IT was too early for the waiter to be back so Dana raised her eyes. The girl seemed about her age. Maybe a year younger, definitely not more. “Yes, can I help you?” Dana said with an arch of her eye-brow. She seemed faintly familiar – didn’t she go to Hogwarts as well? A Slythering probably. What aroused Dana’s curiousity was why she walked up to her.

Trinity was sitting in the luxurious dining room of her favorite restoran. She was sitting patiently, her hair pulled back tightly in a bun, her green silk blouse pressed neatly, her black silk pants leading down to a delicate black beaded moccasin. It wasn't usual for her to be dining alone, but it seemed that with the end of term everyone else decided to stay at the castle to study. Trinity looked up only to notice that the waiter was seating a girl around her age, maybe older. She appeared to be alone as well and she looked very familiar. Trinity waited for the girl to be seated and order before watching the waiter come by her table. "Excuse Me," she said, "Im going to go sit over there, please bring my food to that table instead." Trinity wasn't asking, she was telling. She didn't wait for a reply before standing up and walking to the girl.
"Yes, can I help you?" the familiar girl said, looking up at Trinity. It was clear that the girl did not expect to see her there, Trinity herself didn't expect to be there. "You look familiar," she said, "You go to Hogwarts, right?" Trinity stood there waiting for her to reply hoping that the girl would invite her to sit with her.

Dana raised an eye-brow at such direct question. Most probably a Slytherin, other houses wouldn’t have such arrogance. And Dana had to admit that very often other houses didn’t seem to have the money either to dine in here. “Yes, I go to Hogwarts,” Dana drawled out slowly taking the girl in. She had the hint of in-born arrogance in her, but Dana could let that slip. She had enough arrogant friends and wasn’t really a sugary sweet-heart herself either. Besides eating alone wasn’t too great. The final thought letting Dana decide and she smiled calmly while nodding to a free chair opposite of her, as an invitation for sitting: “Dana Coran. Ravenclaw fifth year. I assume from your question that you go to Hogwarts as well.”
Dana looked up and fell silent as the waiter approached and placed Dana’s mineral water on the table before retreating as quietly as he came. Dana let him move out of sight, before she continued after taking a small sip from the iced drink and leaning back in her chair: “Didn’t really expect to see anyone else from Hogwarts here. Most people find this place too expensive, but I personally think that the foods and service compensate the price.”

Trinity sat in the chair opposite of the girl, Dana was her name. She listened to the Ravenclaw, taking in all of her information before answering. "Yes, I do go to Hogwarts," she said calmly, "Trinity Jade, Fourth Year Slytherin." She took a sip of her iced tea that she had brought with her and then set it down on the crystal coaster on the table. She picked up the silk napkin and set it in her lap, "I don't mind the price," she said arrogantly, " You're right, the food and service is impeccible." She crossed her left leg over the right and leaned back slightly in her chair. "It is my favorite place to dine," she continued, "Mainly because filthy wizards are a rare occasion here, their presence is insulting."
Trinity tucked a strand of her auburn hair behind her ear as it fell loose from her bun and looked to Dana, "To be honest," she said, "I was quite glad to see a familiar face, I wasn't particular on dining alone." She looked up, noticing that the waiter was filling her iced tea and then watched as he stepped off silently. "If you don't mind me asking, do you have any plans after lunch?" Trinity asked curiously, "If not, I was planning on going to Mortlebee's to go shopping, it's a nice clothing store right near Knockturn Alley." She picked up her glass and took another small sip, just in time for the waiter to show up with their food. Trinity looked towards Dana, waiting for her answer, she didn't really want to go alone.

Dana arched a lazy eye-bro: “I like the service here – it’s very good, but I wouldn’t really go as far as to call it impeccable.” And then came a statement that made Dana sigh mentally. Practically all Slytherins thought they were better than others, but did they always have to tell others that? “I am a pure-blood, so I assume I’m one of those better witches in your count,” Dana said calmly eyeing Trinity – is she would get her point, everything would be alright, if not – well, Dana would see how she would react before deciding what to do on that case, “But I have friends among those so-called filthy wizards, so let’s not discuss them. I won’t even bother to try and change your mind knowing how impossible it is to do that for a Slytherin, nor will I be changing mine, so let’s just drop the subject.”
Dana looked up and smiled as her food arrived. “Looks delicious, as always,” Dana told the waiter who gave the briefest smile and retreated, “Mortlebee? Not really my favorite store, but they have some interesting pieces. Certainly better than madam Malkin’s. Looks like I have place for the afternoon now. I just have to drop my potions supplies off before, but that will be quick. My driver can take them to the car later. ” Dana took a bite of the fish and closed her eyes in bliss savoring the taste of it. Food was good here. “Are you looking for some special piece of clothing?” Dana asked curiously. She herself could use a formal gown, but she wasn’t completely sure she would find it today. Especially since she herself didn’t know exactly what kind of a dress she wanted.

Trinity looked down at her salad making sure it was correct before lifting her fork to begin eating. She turned to look at Dana, "Well, I know this service is by far the greatest, by impeccable I meant the best there is around here," she said before taking a bite. She smiled as the crisp lettuce and crunchy croutons graced her mouth with their presence. Trinity decided to ignore Dana's response to her comment on wizard filth, she was not referring to Dana by any means, but did not want to start a fight by commentin any further. "Im actually not looking for anything specific," Trinity said after swallowing her second bite of salad, "I just have some money to burn and there's not a lot to do. Mortlebee's is close by and a fairly decent shop, I thought it would be nice to get to know you a little better." She picked up her glass and sipper her ice tea before turning back to her salad. "I see you ordered the salmon," Trinity noted looking over to Dana's plate, "That's one of my favorite dishes here."
Trinity studied Dana's face for a moment and then finally realized where she had seen the girl before. "You play quidditch for the Ravenclaw team, don't you?" she said picking up a tomato with her fork and placing it neatly into her mouth. The girl was rather good, in fact she was the reason that Ravenclaw was up so high in Quidditch this season. She swallowed the tomato and continued, "I knew I had seen you before, you're rather good you know?" Trinity herself had thought about trying out for the Slytherin Quidditch team several times, but the embarrassing thought of failure stopped her from doing so. Not only that but the Slytherin team had many members, including alternates and Trinity didn't know whether or not they needed anyone for the team at this moment. She picked up her spoon to scoop the last bit of her salad onto her fork and then set both pieces of silverware down after placing it into her mouth. She looked to Dana's plate noticing that she herself was almost done with her salmon. "Are you up for a small dessert," Trinity asked, "Or do you just want to get out and shop?" Just as Trinity commented about dessert the waiter showed up about to ask the same question.

“Salmon is good,” Dana stated taking one more bite and grinning at the mention of quidditch. “Yes, I play Quidditch. Even though I learned to fly a broom only this year. And I’m still afraid of heights, but on a broom it doesn’t bother me anymore. Except the little fact I still can’t land properly.” Dana pondered over quidditch – learning to fly had been an… interesting experience at the very least. Especially since her cousin had just pulled her up on a broom and let her loose, leaving it on Dana herself to handle the situation. And then Savannah had dumped the captain duties on her. Surprisingly Dana was best as a seeker – one more curious twist of fate. She was an alright keeper, but seeker was best for her. “And you – do you play quidditch? I don’t think I’ve seen you during a game, but are you a reserve?” Dana asked. Quidditch teams always seemed to be short of players. Dana knew from first-hand experience how hard it exactly was to put good team together and keep it together without anyone having to miss a lot of times. Dana a eyed her plate contemplatively. She wasn’t hungry yet, but a dessert would do nicely. “I think I’ll go for a dessert,” Dana decided and turned to the waiter, “Dessert. Chocolatecake for me.” The waiter turned to Trinity to hear what she would want before leaving. “Was he listening around the corner to know so exactly when we started to think about dessert?” Dana asked curiously watching as the waiter started to return with the orders. Picking up her fork Dana started eating the cake happily, enjoying the rich taste of chocolate. White chocolate wasn’t good at all. But dark chocolate like this one here – it was absolutely amazing. “I’m addicted to food,” Dana said with a smile towards Trinity.

Trinity smiled contentiously as she dug her fork into her strawberry cheesecake, she was glad that they had decided on dessert. "I don't play, actually," she said between bites, "I want to, but I never got the guts to go and try out." She felt a little disapoited is herself for a moment. Trinity was a little distraught when Dana mentioned that the waiter might be listening around the corner, "I don't know if he was listening," she said, "That'd be a little weird though." She continued to eat her cheesecake savoring every bite. She loved the smooth texture and the rich flavor complimented by the sweetness of fruit, it was one of her favorites.
"I know what you mean," she said as Dana told her about her food obsession, " I'm very fond of it myself, I love eating- even if I'm not hungry." She laughed softly and then continued, " I dont know what I would do if I had been cursed with a slow metabolism." She finished the last bit of her cheesecake and smiled very content. She looked towards Dana who was also just finishing and sighed, "So, are you ready for some shopping?" She pulled out her purse and placed a very large tip of twelve galleons on the table before standing up and placing her napkin on the table.

Dana eyed Trinity curiously: “You can fly, right? As long as you don’t try for a beater and try to find those bloody bludgers yourself, you should be alright during the game. As for trying out – once you get to the pitch and actually push off on a broom – it isn’t scary anymore. I’ve been through this once, so don’t worry about it.” “I’m rather often hungry. But I absolutely refuse to drink pumpkin juice and it seems like the only thing they ever serve in Hogwarts. Transfiguring it into cappuccino was the first spell I ever mastered,” Dana said with a brief smile adoring her face as she finished her cake.
“Yes, I’m ready. Just one moment,” Dana said dropping her napkin carelessly onto the table and standing. Raising her hand Dana snapped her fingers and a moment later the waiter who had served them was present again. “Make sure my things are sent to our flat in London. And you know the account from where to take the bill off,” Dana told him calmly, dropping a couple of galleons into his palm. Taking along just a small purse with the most basic necessities in it – the purse was only the size of a letter, but that was good about magic. The insides could hold as much as a medium-sized back-pack should it be necessary. “Mortlebee’s then,” Dana said leaving the restaurant while nodding towards a Ministry Official she knew through her grand-parents, “I really do need myself a proper formal gown. The hard part is I’m not completely sure what kind of a design or I want it to be. and naturally I need matching jewels and shoes to go with the dress then."

"Yes, I can fly," Trinity said a little defensively, "I learned from my older brothers when I was about 8." She looked to Dana and gave a weak smile, "Well, I think it's for sure," she said, "I'm going to try out as soon as we get back to Hogwarts."
Trinity began walking towards the door when a small post owl landed atop of her shoulder. She scowled slightly, worried that it might snag her silk top, before reaching to it's claw and taking the envelope it carried. She reached into her purse and handed the owl a treat before brushing it away with one wave of her hand. "Well, it looks like I'm going to need a formal as well," she said, "I have just been invited to Dawn's 17th birthday party." She folded the letter and tucked it back inside the envelope before placing it neatly in her purse. She walked through the back gate of the restoran and into the alley just behind, Mortlebee's was close by. "I hope they have a dress that I want, even though I'm not quite sure what I want yet," Trinity said half laughing, "Oh, of course you have to buy jewels and accessories." She was glad that she had invited Dana to come with her, she was beginning to get very fond of the girl and would rather not shop alone. She walked down the back of the alley and then crossed into the main streets of Diagon before continuing along the sidewalks in front of the shops.

“Well, I wish you good luck,” Dana stated with a smile, before frowning, “Wait, you are going to be playing against me. Well, good luck in trying out and beat the Gryffies, but when Slythein-Ravenclaw game rolls up – do be a dear and fall a brake something, so you’ll be unable to play? Nothing personal. What position would you want by the way?” Dana didn’t show curiosity at the owl. Letters were private and she was polite enough not to enquire. “Dawn’s party? I’ve heard of those. Supposedly only the best Slytherin were invited,” Dana mused calmly as they moved down the street, “My cousin got invited – that’s how I know.”
Dana eyed the shop-windows they passed and looked up as they reached Mortlebee’s: “Here we are. Let’s hope for the best.” Dana entered the store and a sales-lady was already floating towards them asking how she could help. “By bringing us some formal gowns we could see,” Dana answered, pulling a black blouse from a rack and looking at it briefly, before putting it back, as it didn’t interest her. What style do you want for your dress? Or some specific colour?” Dana asked Trinity as the sales-woman floated away to bring dresses.

Trinity smiled at Dana as to say thank you before they walked into the large front doors of Mortlebee's. She watched as the sales lady came up and then abruptly left to get some formal gowns. "I am looking for something elegant, beautiful and classy," She knew that much was obvious, "Maybe in black, green or even violet." Trinity looked around as she waited for the sales lady to return. On the side wall near them there were several glass figurines. Trinity walked towards them and smiled as she got near enough to see them. Trinity picked up one the figurines and noticed that it was a small quidditch field, it had small glass figurines floating inside along with a referee at the bottom and a seeker hovering above the others. It was perfect, she looked at the price and then picked it up to purchase. She walked over to the counter and set it down, letting the ladies know she was planning on purchasing it after she was finished looking. They nodded reassuringly before she walked back to Dana.
Just as Trinity arrived so had the sales lady, billowing with dresses. Trinity's eyes widened as she saw a beautiful green and white dress laying atop the pile. She hardly waited for the sales lady to set the dresses down before she snatched it up. She smiled happily as she noticed the beautiful, off the shoulder gown was her size. She knew this was the one she wanted. She continued looking and found three other dresses before turning to Dana, "Well, as soon as you're ready to try something on, Im ready," she smiled at Dana and waited patiently for her to find a dress as well.

Dana watched absent-mindedly as Trinity picked up a collection of glass figurines. It looked like a nice trinket – even though it was obviously a bit too heavy to wear around one’s neck. Giving a thoughtful tug onto the little belly-button ring in the shape of a snitch – luckily it was attached to the skin with magic, as Dana couldn’t stand the sight of needles – and browsed the store. The sales-lady came back and Dana walked to the pile of dresses grinning as Trinity seemed to have found a dress for her. “Feel free to go and try it on, I’m picky and might take some time here yet,” Dana answered starting to look at the dresses, flipping most of them to the side carelessly at first glance. “You do have matching shoes for sale here?” Dana asked raising up a dress and eyeing it thoughtfully for a moment, before banishing it to the side.
When the pile was looked through Dana had picked out four dresses she would dry on – one s short Ravenclaw blue dress with bronze flowers. It was a bit Chinese style, but it was cute in it’s own way, leaving the arms bare but having a high collar. The second one left one shoulder bare and the lower part cut of higher on one side, going a bit past the knee on the other. The dress was dark red with black decorations and made to fit exactly around the body just like the blue dress had. The third was full length black dress with a tiny red-ish pattern in the cloth. It had thin straps and just fell freely from shoulders down. Simple, but classy. And the last one was black with green slashes on the widening skirt and upper body. Picking out heeled shoes to match all the dresses Dana smiled at Trinity and slipped into a dressing cabin to try them on: “Holler, when you’re in your dress, I want to see it.”

((Sorry it took so long, I have been a tad busy and kept getting pre-occupied))
Trinity took her dresses inside the stall and carefully removed her silk shirt. She grabbed the first dress, a forest green off the shoulder three courter length dress with white trimming gracing the bottom and end of the sleeves, and slipped it over her head. The dress swooped down her body and fell perfectly into place. She smoothed the silk and stepped from the dressing room, a smile on her face. "I'm out here," Trinity yelled over to Dana, "come out when you're done, I'm excited to see what you've picked."
Trinity looked herself over in a mirror nearby and laughed as her reflection did sexy poses and proceeded to blow kisses and wink at her, 'such a ham' she thought calmly about her reflection. She sat on the bench nearby and strapped on the shoes she had chosen to match this dress. She tucked her hair behind her ear again and then returned to the mirror only to see her reflection continuing its charades.

Dana took the dresses and shoes and walked to a changing cabin. Two first dresses were disbanded immediately as one was too big, the other too small for Dana. She was just putting on a third dress when Trinity called. Slipping on high black heels Dana walked out to see how Trinity was looking. The dress left shoulders bare and probably didn’t need too much fitting as it wasn’t a too difficult cut. Dana didn’t rush to state her opinion though. She herself never trusted opinions at first glance so she never gave such impressions herself either. Making a thoughtful tour around Trinity Dana scanned the dress looking for mistakes.
“Looks good, it fits you perfectly,” Dana finally stated with a smile having brushed a small string of from the back of the dress, “I wonder if they sell jewels here too, or do you have something to match this dress?” Dana eyed the green colour – if Trinity was buying this dress to go to Dawn’s birthday party, then the green colour would probably work nicely. It wasn’t Slytherin green but Dana didn’t have any doubts that Slytherin green clothes would be seen a lot at the party. “Maybe emeralds? Silver would accent and be accented nice by the white trimmings,” Dana said thoughtfully eyeing Trinity’s hair, “Do you have nay idea what you are going to do with your hair?”
while waiting for the answer, Dana turned to look at herself. The black dress showed dark-red pattern only when Dana moved herself, making the dress play with light. The dress was slimming – not that Dana really needed that effect – and the heels helped make Dana even longer which also wasn’t really needed. Not too many guys were taller than Dana on heels. The back was open rather widely as Dana saw, but it didn’t bother her – that was what scarves were for. The dresses colour was picky – it wouldn’t be very easy to find jewels for this dress. Maybe gold and rubies. On the whole Dana decided to buy the dress as she pulled a see-through red scarf over her back holding it at her elbows almost automatically. “Looks like we both found at least something here today, which is very positive,” Dana decided as she looked into the mirror before throwing Trinity a smile, “If you are buying that dress.”

Trinity smiled graciously as she saw Dana come from the dressing room. She began to pose heartily as Dana inspected her and smiled as she gave her approval. She liked the dress and was pleased to know it flattered her curvy figure. She looked to Dana and saw she was wearing a beautiful black dress with a red tint that shimmered in the light. She gave Dana a motion to turn and inspected the dress politely as Dana had done for her, "It could use a scarf," she said as Dana gave her a look that said 'you read my mind.' Trinity smiled as Dana lightly tossed the scarf over her back, it topped the dress like a cherry on a mouth watering Sunday, "You look amazing... You're right, we did find something."
Trinity walked over to the jewelry counter and began to inspect the diamonds and opals layed out gracefully in below the glass counter. Her eyes sparkled as she came across a beautiful white gold, emerald, diamond and opal necklace. It was a thin chained necklace that came into a point and had an oval shaped opal hanging freely from the chain. Along the chain lay emerald and diamond sparkles that complemented the opal perfectly. She turned to the lady and pointed down to the necklace, the lady grabbed the necklace and handed it to Trinity who inspected it thoroughly. She handed it back to the lady, "Box it please, I'm going to purchase it." She turned to look at what Dana might have found.
The lady behind the counter placed the box with the necklace and matching earrings next to the figurine Trinity had set aside earlier. ' I wonder if Dawn will like her gift,' she thought anxiously. She hoped it would fit in with Dawn's items in her room, but was still classy. She tapped her finger lightly on the glass as Dana's eyes skimmed the jewelry counter.

Trinity suggested a scarf for the dress at the same moment Dana picked one and Dana smiled at her. She liked the girls taste in clothes and her impression of her was pretty good. Flashing a brilliant smile towards Trinity at the compliment Dana followed her to the counter to see jewels. Trinity found her jewels fairly soon and Dana stopped skimming the jewels to look at what Trinity chose. Opals, white gold, emeralds and diamonds – the last outlook looked good. Dana herself had never cared for diamonds much – they seemed too distant and cold for her – but everybody had a right for their own taste.
“Nice,” Dana concluded her opinion about the necklace with an approving nod and eyes the jewels and the necklace and earrings with rubies and black onyxes in gold caught Dana’s eyes. It might go with the dress, but Dana wasn’t sure. “I want to see that necklace,” Dana told the store-assistant who quickly handed her the necklace. Putting it on Dana turned to look into the mirror. The colours of the jewels fit, but the gold… Dana hesitated – something was wrong or missing or maybe she was just overly picky. “I’m not sure, what do you think?” Dana asked Trinity, silencing the assistance suggestion with one wave of hand, “Something doesn’t seem that correct, but it would be a perfect dress for opera in summer.”
Dana glanced at the jewels over her shoulder and shrugged. Nothing else had caught her attention: “Do you want something else form here, or should we get what we have so far and move on to somewhere?”

Trinity eyed the jewelry Dana had picked out, it was beautiful and matched the dress perfectly, "It's all in your head," she said surely, "It goes perfect with the outfit." She nodded to the lady behind the counter to tell her they were ready to pay and then pulled out her coin purse anxiously. They lady rang up Trinity's items and then wrapped them nicely in tissue paper before placing them into a bag. She handed them to Trinity, "That will be 649 galleons," she said confidently, handing the bag to Trinity. Trinity reached into her purse and placed the money onto the counter before stepping aside to let Dana ring up. It had been a good eveing, she had gotten to know the Raven a little more and had made what she now considered to be a good friend. She picked up her things not looking at the sales lady as she and Dana walked out the door.

Trinity decided that the necklace looked good enough. Dana looked at it with hesitation once more, before deciding against buying: “Maybe it’s in my head, but it’s not really what I’m looking for. What do I have to pay?” Dana changed back to her previous clothes and checked the bill after that. The dress was 87 galleons, the shoes 43 galleons. Writing a check and signing it with a calligraphic signature Dana handed it to the store-owner: “I don’t carry that much money with me. You can get the money from Gringotts upon showing this slip.”
Picking up the bag with the things she had bought Dana stepped to the street. For a change Trinity had been a rather nice person to get to know. Hearing a hoot Dana looked up and raised her arm as her eagle-owl landed on it and took the note from Dorian’s leg. Reading it, Dana nodded and sent Dorian flying again. “It has been a pleasure, but I really do must get going now,” Dana told Trinity and said her good-byes before leaving and flooing home.
