Trinity strutted down the dusty road of Diagon Alley, her pre-ripped jeans becoming covered from the knee down. Her long green cloak trailed behind her as she headed towards the Three Broomsticks. It was a rare occasion for her to go to such a filthy place but she was thirsty and no other place served up a good butterbeer. She slowed her pace for a moment as she a beautiful jewelry box, black silk decorated with green beads and sequins, she thought how perfectly it would match her room at home. She shuffled her feet slightly gazing at the box before walking towards and opening the front door of the shop. She stepped inside and was overwhelmed with the smell of vanilla chai, it tickled her nose and made her smile. She headed to the box and lifted it gently, running her hands along it's soft edges. She looked inside and saw that it had many compartments and was perfect for her.
She walked to the front and set it on the counter, "36 galleons," the woman said. Trinity pulled out her coin purse and placed 40 galleons on the counter, "Keep the change," Trinity said carelessly. She grabbed her bag and walked towards the door, leaving the obviously poor woman at the counter with a grin on her face.
When she entered the street again she coughed, realizing that it was very dusty in the alley, much more so than when she went into the store. She pulled her cloak over her head to cover her mouth and hair and then headed towards the Three Broomsticks. She reached the door and pushed the heavy door open. She looked around and was disgusted, wizard filth was everywhere. She sneered at the people, cautiously weaving through them making sure not to touch them. She headed to the counter and sighed as she sat in a tall bar stool.

Jack strode through Diagon Alley, stopping to look at the windows a few times. Nothing seemed to interest him, so he kept moving, weaving through the large crowd of people, making sure to glare at people who dared to glance at him. Jack hated it when people scrutinized him, mostly other houses, it made him feel far too open. He didn't mind if his friends stared at him for a few moments; that didn't really matter. Side-stepping a chattering group of Hufflepuffs, Jack entered the Quidditch shop. As he looked around, he saw a Firebolt on display in the window. Remembering what Padme had said, a grin split Jack's face. Moving away from the broom, Jack went to the back of the shop to look around. Nothing seemed to be worth any money; Jack exited the shop with a scowl. Instead, he strutted over to the Three Broomsticks. That was were he had first met Mack; he had liked the place ever since.
Walking over to the bar, Jack ordered a butterbeer and looked around. Scum was everywhere. Moving away from the filth, Jack noticed a girl about a year older than himself sitting on a stool near the bar. Moving toward her, Jack sat down after making sure she was a Slytherin. Smirking at her, Jack took a drink before glaring at him over the rim of the tankard. "You seem to be the only one worthy of my attention in here." Jack told her as a greeting. "Jack Rendel, Slytherin third year." Jack said "Rendel" with pride because the Rendel family was well known in the wizarding world. Smirking at the girl, Jack waited to find out her name.

Trinity had ordered her butterbeer and was enjoying the smooth and creamy taste when a younger boy came up to her. He had a butterbeer in his hand and was smirking at her, "You seem to be the only one worthy of my attention in here," he said cockily before introducing himself. Trinity sipped from her butterbeer before turning and looking at the boy, Jack. He was younger, but not completely unattractive, his hair dark and messy his eyes blue as an ocean. He wasn't completely unfortunate either, considering he was a Slytherin and she had heard of his family.
"Why is it that you are so sure you are worthy of my time," she said jokingly before smiling and holding her hand out to him, "Trinity Jade, Slytherin 4th year." She wondered whether he would comment on her name, like so many others had after her father's dark arts shop was closed by the ministry. None the less she shook his hand and returned to her butterbeer, "What brings you here," she asked after taking another swig. She set her mug down and smoothed her auburn hair before taking a bobby pin and pinning back her layered bangs. She smiled contently when the bangs were contained and turned back to the boy, waiting for an answer.

Jack smirked at the girl as she asked why he was so sure that he was worthy of her time. "I didn't say that I was sure, did I? Anyway, you should have heard of the Rendels; they are good purebloods." He leaned back in his chair, drinking the warm smooth butterbeer. It made him feel better and, seeing as he wanted conversation, more talkative. The girl who had introduced herself as Trinity Jade, a Slytherin fourth year, Jack nodded. "Yeah, I've heard of the Jade family before." His father had always said that the Jade family was a great pureblood family. Leaning back even farther in his chair so far that there was a danger of falling off, Jack eyed Trinity. She had red hair (Just like Mack, Jack thought with a grimace). He paused in preparation to answer her question, his lips pursed together.
"Just trying to go somewhere without running into those... unworthy of my time and attention. It seems like that somewhere is very hard to find." Jack put down his butterbeer and then crossed his arms over his chest, making him look very odd. "There aren't enough worthy people around anymore. My father use to say that there was more people worthy of the titles witch and wizard, but now those people are becoming hard to find. I have to agree, how about you?"

Trinity listened to Jack with false interest as her drone on about unworthy wizards and witches. Although it was all true, it was becoming all to familiar discussion between Slytherins. "I personally don't rely on the opinions of my mother or father, but I do believe that there is far too little worthy witches and wizards in our community... as I have stated many a time before." She took the last sip of her butterbeer and set it down, waving to a small man behind the counter for another one. She looked over at the boy and examined him, his appearances was very respectable.. a tall and dark boy with very strong and handsome features. Trinity finished looking him up and down, "You're not too bad looking, you know," she said being her normal blunt self.
The man behind the counter handed her a butterbeer and she glared at him, "I would also like a sandwich," her stomach was beginning to growl as she hadn't eaten that morning, "Would you like anything," she questioned turning to Jack.

Jack nodded as he drank his butterbeer, causing the contents to swish around dangerously. Setting down the tankard, he ran his fingers through his hair distractedly, not really looking at Trinity. He raised an eyebrow when she said that he wasn't bad looking. "Why, thank you for the compliment, but I all ready knew that." Jack said with a wink in her direction. He was never one to use playful banter against someone, but things could change. He looked down at his appearance, making sure that Trinity had talked about him and really meant it. His skin was dark tan and his brown hair went well with it. His electrifying blue eyes seemed to pop out behind his bangs.. He was rather tall and skinny for his age, but he was in shape to. Looking back at the girl, he smirked.
"Are you always this straight-forward? Or, is it just around me?" He lifted the butterbeer to his mouth as she asked if he would like anything. "'Nother butterbeer." he told the man, not really looking at him. He didn't matter much, so why even give him that much attention? The man passed him the other butterbeer, looking reproachfully at the one Jack held. It was probably the fact that that one was still quite full that bothered him. Turning back to Trinity, he replaced his smirk, his blue eyes gazing at her.

Trinity smiled guiltily as the boy asked her if she was always this straight forward, " The truth is something I value very much, If I'm thinking it I'm most likely going to say it." The boy had a curious sense of confidence and humor about himself which she found oddly attractive. She picked up her new butterbeer and took a sip before turning and looking at the sandwich the man had just placed in front of her. She was about to take a bite when she felt like she was being watched, surely enough she turned and the boy was staring at her. She smiled, "Do you always stare?" she said jokingly. Her emerald green eyes caught his blue ones and she felt a chill go down her spine, she turned abruptly and took a bite of her sandwich, trying not to look startled.
She wiped her hands on her napkin and pushed her red hair from her face. Turning back to the boy and looking at him. She scanned him up and down, taking in everything about him, he had a specific presence about him, she didn't know what it was but she like it all the same. She crossed her right leg over her left and turned back to her sandwich, saying nothing more to the boy.

Jack couldn't help but sport another smirk as the girl said that she liked the truth so that she would be telling what was on her mind most of the time. He couldn't help but find that she thought him good looking a tad intriguing, but he didn't let that cross across his face. "You see, I'm much different from you then. I hide behind lies. I never really speak my mind, mostly about those who seem good looking." His smirk faltered for a moment as his thoughts landed back on Mack. It seemed like he would never be able to tell her how he felt. Trying to strengthen the smirk, he looked back up at the girl in time to meet her eyes. They were emerald green. Jack's smirked widened, but he wasn't that mean, a smile was slipping through too. As he saw her shiver, the smirk vanished and the smile became broad. "Cold?" He asked her with a shadow of a wink. He snorted when she asked him if he always stared.
"It depends," he said in a would be casual voice, another wink surfacing, "who I'm speaking to." His smile widened, but he didn't let anything escape through his eyes. Trinity didn't say anything more, so Jack spoke up. "So-how old are you anyway? Fifteen?" He shrugged as though the matter was of no importance, but he was really quite curious. If she really thought him good looking and she was...older.... He raised an eyebrow at her, trying to guess who old she really was.

She had only taken a few bites of her sandwich but Trinity's stomach was already beginning to ache. She set her sandwich down and pushed it to the side before grabbing her butterbeer and taking the last sip. Tapping her fingers lightly on the old wooden counter she turned back to the boy. He had a pleased grin on his face as he questioned her. She didn't mind his questions, there was nothing better to do at the moment and his company was nice. Her eyebrows raised curiously as he asked her age, "I am 14, I will be fifteen in the autumn, I am going into my fifth year at hogwarts," she said arrogantly. She had always hated the summer, she never knew whether to say her previous or upcoming year, "And no, I am not cold.." she said trying to play it cool.
She began to swing her leg to the sounds of her tapping and blushed slightly when one of her long legs brushed against Jack. Her eyes met with his and she blushed deeply before coughing lightly, " So, do you have any plans for the summer," she asked casually. She herself didn't have many plans yet, she knew she was going to Paris for a week and Australia for another. Her father was trying to start business again and he was going to need rare and dark items from across the world. Being her father's favorite she of course got to go along, undoubtedly she would be shopping.
The man behind the counter came closer and Trinity waved for his attention, "I'm dying of thirst over here," she bit nastily, "Pumpkin Juice, on the double," the man bowed slightly and wandered to the back quickly. She turned back to the boy with an innocent smile ready to hear of his summer plans.

"I'm thirteen going on fourteen in December." So, the girl was only a year younger than him about. Jack's birthday, the sixteenth of December seemed rather far away, but he could wait. He had always enjoyed birthdays, he presents were always satisfactory and that was the only time Roger Rendel was happy with his son. Jack felt his stomach clench at the thought of how unhappy his father really was with him. Roger wanted his son to be the bully of the playground, to be the best of the best. Instead, he had Jack, who was one of the softer Slytherins. As Trinity's leg brushed against his, he hardly noticed. How could he make his father happy? Would he change just to make a life for himself in his father's hands. He heard Trinity distantly as she asked what his plans were for the summer. Did he have any plans? What was he going to do this summer? Change?
"I don't really know," he said slowly, his mind not on his words. He was thinking hard. All the people he had wanted to see this summer were going to be hard to contact. Mack? Well, their father's were always butting heads, so that was no use. Padme? He couldn't visit her much because of the fact that she was his sister. Roger had no idea that he had a daughter, and Jack was determined to keep it that way. "I would like to go visit my...best friend Mackenzie, but that's probably not going to happen. I would like to keep contact with my little sister Padme, but that will prove difficult. So, really, I'm going to be stuck with my father for a while." He sighed, letting his mind wonder again. "You would like Padme." He said all of the sudden, but it was true. Trinity would get along well with the little girl, if she liked being treated like dirt on the floor that is. Jack bit his tongue; maybe she wouldn't like Padme for that very reason. Mack had become explosive when she had meet Padme, would Trinity do the same? Jack's head was beginning to hurt, so he closed his eyes, oblivious to Trinity, feeling rather trapped in his own mind. Deciding it would look rather odd if Jack continued to just sit there with eyes closed, he opened one eye to see Trinity, trying to keep his thoughts from letting lose.
